The Social List Review - Long Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"While many restaurants advocate sharing plates, not all of them enforce that rule as a political ethos. At The Social List (get it?!?) in Long Beach, they insist that all food on the table is communal (like their breakfast burger with applewood-smoked bacon or peanut butter French toast waffles) but strangely don’t apply the same collective ownership logic to their bottomless mimosa deal. Interesting." - Kat Hong

Where To Eat Brunch on New Year’s Day, 2018 | Eater LA

"In Long Beach, the Social List will keep New Year’s brunch going from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For the unfamiliar, the Social List’s sausages are hand made, the bread is baked on-site, and the food is decidedly comforting. For those that can’t wake up before the afternoon hours, dinner lasts from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m." - Mona Holmes

I was very surprised at how yummy the chicken and waffles were. A unique twist by it being bacon and jalapeño and cornbread. Went super well with my Bloody Mary! Definitely coming back here again with my friends.

Google
I will note first that to me this place feels more like for drinking with food rather than a straight up restaurant with drink offerings. That's not a bad thing, if you planing a night out for drinking and having a bite this is a great choice. We were looking for more of restaurant vibe but still kept our reservation and ate here. Feels was good and service ok. Vibes were off for us but that's our fault.

Came here as a party of 10ish on a Friday. Lovely staff that allowed us to split 4 ways (that is their maximum). I ordered their brisket nachos and a friend ordered their Bleu Cheese Wedge salad, substituting the bleu cheese for cheddar and adding a seared seasame encrusted ahi tuna on top. They brought our food in a timely manner. The brisket nachos feed two, and if you’re a light eater maybe three. The brisket was okay but a slight bit dry, and the cheese is made Texas style with a bit of sweetness to it. The salad itself was huge, with lots for leftover. The atmosphere wasn’t particularly special but was nice.

Google
I recently dined at this restaurant, and while the food had good flavor, I was quite disappointed with my burger. It was more bread than meat, and at $22, it was the smallest burger I’ve ever had. The onions were tasty, but when I asked for extra ranch sauce, the waitress never brought it, even though I wouldn’t have minded paying extra. Overall, the service was good, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed with the food size.

Love the food, the server and the atmosphere! A great spot with a loaded menu, displaying and array of dining options!

We love coming here every weekend for our bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s! We love the waitress Jazmine. She is always so sweet and welcoming! The chicken pot pie is to DIE for. Seriously one of the best things I have ever had.

The burger here was absolutely delicious! Drinks were nice and strong. Service was good and quick.

Absolutely blown away by my experience at The Social List! I ordered the Cubano, which was cooked to perfection, with the perfect balance of flavors in every bite. What really took the meal to the next level was the chef's recommended cocktail, which was a special that day. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name, but it paired flawlessly with the Cubano. The flavors complemented each other in such a delightful way that it made for an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere and service were top-notch as well. I can't wait to return. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The Social List is a go-to spot for us in Long Beach! The energy is always a perfect blend of vibrant and calm, even on Saturday night it's easy to get a table outside and enjoy the charming ambiance of Retro Row. A standout feature that you'll be sure to notice about the Social List is that they have an expansive menu, making it perfect for accommodating diverse or picky eaters. My usual picks from the menu are: the Patatas Bravas with a sub for regular fries ($13), the Impossible Burger ($18), or a California Fig Salad ($15). We always have to order the Chocolate Chip Skillet ($12) for dessert - it's really a must-try! My only real suggestion would be to label the menu items more clearly for vegan or gluten-free folks. Currently, the only item labeled as vegan is the Impossible Burger, and I feel like they could do much better in identifying options for those with dietary restrictions or preferences. Overall, the Social List is an A-1 spot that I highly recommend!

Yelp
Decided to head out to dinner last min (seems to be a pattern) one night and have always walked passed this cute little neighborhood joint and decided to stop in as it didn't look too busy right before dinner time. We caught Happy hour and unfortunately two very sleepy parents ordered everything spicy (there's quite a lot of spice on the menu which are all labeled.) The service was great but even with happy hour prices and no alcohol it was a very pricey dinner for 2.5. Would be willing to give this place another shot but the food we got left some to be desired!

Yelp
OMG! This place is absolutely a LB hidden gem. I took my bestie to lunch for her birthday and talk about savory food. I had the smoked bbq brisket sandwich with french fries and my friend had the sea bass. It was sooooo good I wanted to go back and kiss the cook. Then, for no extra charge my friend received complimentary piece of bread pudding. Talk about scrumptious! We enjoy every bit of it. This place deserves an A+. Regina

Yelp
Been here quite a few times and always enjoy myself. Tonight I went with an Espresso Martini, it was okay and not more. However, the meatball sub was fantastic! The diced tomatoes, pesto and basil topped off this classic. The staff is always friendly at this hip little joint.

Yelp
Had a wonderful late Saturday brunch and while almost everything on that brunch menu looked amazing, we took the recommendations from our wonderful waitress and went with the "items in the boxes" on their menu which I guess are their specialities or what they're known for and boy was that a a great choice!! We split both The fig and blue burger which was the perfect mix of sweet and savory, and the short rib sandwich which was sooo perfectly done, only part that made me sad was it was so much food we weren't able to finish it all. The papas bravas were incredible and we asked for plain fries instead of the garlic fries and those were good too. The place had a wonderful vibe and good music playing, we'll be back!

Yelp
UPDATE: Found 2 more gems that were absolutely fantastic!! The Japanese Sea Bass is a generous size and beautifully spiced, and the Ahi Poke Nachos, brilliantly crafted and fresh. This place is definitely worth working through the typical parking challenges here in Long Beach. Gotta come back again soon to explore more of Chef's amazing creations.

Yelp
Sooooooo good! One of my favorite restaurants, the vibe is cool most of the time and their menu is really interesting. I came for happy hour and ordered 2 appetizers, deviled eggs & the tuna nachos. So good. And to drink I had the bon voyage, also very good. I loved the deviled eggs, they were so good. And the service was good too, everyone is nice I just wasn't feeling the people sitting next to me. They kept making comments about the way I was dressed, it was very Orange County. Next time I'll sit at the bar. By the way, can you tell I think the food is so good? Lol

Yelp
This place was OK-Good (3.5 stars)! We came here for happy hour (4-6pm M-F) and ordered some wings, mac and cheese, and patata bravas and all of these things were relatively decent, although the mac+cheese + patata bravas were all a bit spicy (it does warn you on the menu). For our entree, we got the Japanese bass which was served with brocollini and mashed potatoes. Yum! Service was great, but the price point was a bit high. One entree and 3 happy hour items and a lemonade set us back about $93 including tip, which at that price point - brings this place into more of a on rare occasion sort of rotation, rather than anything we could consider a regular spot. Nice to have in the neighborhood though!

Yelp
This was my first time going to The Social List and my first impression was that it was simple and clean brick and motor. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. The service was fast and they have a wide selection American items. They have an exclusive brunch menu for the weekends which we ordered from. Overall each of the menu item we got were high quality and will definitely satisfy your carving. However although it is high quality, it is nothing that will amaze you. If you're looking for a spot to spend time with friends for family this is a great option. The only problem I have unfortunately is that parking is a struggle. I had to find street parking which on a Saturday morning was packed and very difficult.

Yelp
I think it might be closer to 4.5 stars. This just seems like a nice place to hang out. It looks bigger on the outside so there may be times where it's hard to get seated. My partner had a salad which she enjoyed. I had the Szechwan chicken sandwich. It was pretty good but it felt like the flavor of the chicken got lost in all the ingredients. The ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful but I did miss the chicken a bit. No alcohol for us but they kept our waters and ice teas full and fresh. Everybody on staff seemed helpful and professionally nice. The weather was great so it was a bit of a shame to leave. Looked like a couple of people were on dates. Just being in Long Beach make sure you allow time to find parking.

Yelp
No need to really say anything other than the service and the food was top tier as always! We love coming here for wine Wednesday or just in general to catch up with friends. It is a very lovely place with lively ambiance. The shrimp pasta was to die for and not pictured was the butter cake which is a staple in our meal choices. Also an honorable mention from a previous visit: the green goddess salad. Ugh just so delicious and I want to get it again on my next and probably 20th visit to this restaurant lol!

Yelp
Let's just start off by saying that this place is super trendy and super cool. The ambiance and food are amazing here and so is the service. While today was my 3rd visit to the Social List, this is my first review First off the staff is always very friendly and attentive and fun to be around. Everything I have tried so far was delicious and very tasty. The brisket nachos probably are my favorite so far but I also liked the shrimp wraps and the chicken with waffles and spicy maple syrup. While I didn't care about the waffle the chicken and the syrup were the bomb. I also enjoyed the mahi sandwich plus you can't beat the $20 bottle of champagne and OJ. If you like to people watch the outside patio is the way to go but their inside is also quite fun to spend time in. 5 stars for reasonably priced and tasty food plus friendly service. A big shout out to Chloe and Kate for making us feel welcome here!! I'II be back! Enjoy and Bon Appetit.

Yelp
Their patio is perfect on a warm summer day. The short rib melt was so juicy, packed with flavor! Their special drinks were refreshing and delicious. And the service was spectacular! Our waiter, sorry can't remember his name, was super welcoming, knew the menu and recommended the sandwich. He was amazing especially for his first day. The general manager, Devin, was extremely kind, generous, and welcoming. He also gave my sister in law great ideas as a potencial host site for her baby shower.

Yelp
Something unfortunately is rotten here at the Social List. I brought a group of friends (under 8) for brunch. Our server would disappear for long periods of time, and when he would appear, it seemed like it was the worst thing in the world to serve us - which tbh my group isn't loud, obnoxious, etc. My SO's "sourdough toast" was quite literally buttered bread, and when it was brought up, the server disappeared, and returned with a completely different kind of bread (albeit toasted). The papas/patatas bravas were delicious, but I haven't met a potato I haven't liked yet. The pizookie skillet is palm-sized for the fans of BJs. It serves two, or one person with a sweet tooth. The best part was the bill showing up with an automatic 18% gratuity already added in as fees, and then asking for MORE. Here me out. I am all for tipping, I love it and support y'all, but to those who aren't paying attention, you're robbing them. Especially for groups that aren't even "parties" since now I notice you've done this to groups of 3. Our server dropped the bill off, disappeared to the back for a solid 20+ mins to the point that a sweet black server came up, asked if our meal was good, and I grinned through it. *the bathroom is prior to the back. The latter server had to process everything for us and we were on our way. I'm sorely disappointed.

Yelp
Visited on a busy Friday evening during Fourth Fridays and sat outside. We ordered a couple of drinks along with 2 appetizers and 1 main dish, which should be sufficient for 2 people since portion sizes are on the smaller side. The food was decent, with the tuna nachos and blushing dragon cocktail (recommended to us by the waiter) being the highlight of the night. The ahi tuna was fresh and sauce used for the nachos were balanced and flavorful, while the blushing dragon cocktail had a strong dragonfruit-forward profile and unexpected kick of spice reminiscent of tajin. The other two dishes didn't stand out much in comparison. I'd recommend asking the waiter what their recommendations are, as some menu items are seasonal and likely worth a try.

Yelp
This review is for our dine-in on the afternoon of 02/04/23. Here is what we ordered: - Cajun shrimp po boy: Cajun battered crispy shrimp, house-made remoulade, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, and hot sauce on the side. Served with garlic fries. 17 - Chowder fries: Crispy fries, decadent clam chowder, jalapeño, bacon and chives 14 - Social list wings: in buffalo sauce - Jumbo juicy wings with your choice of Korean Koji and toasted sesame seeds, 0G house made buffalo sauce with bleu cheese crumbles, of Kung Pao wings with Japanese peppers and peanuts. 16 - Baked Mac and cheese: Manchego cheese, spicy bacon, charred shishito peppers. 14 Add Waffle Chicken Tender $4 I ordered a mimosa and a whiskey ginger ale and was picking off of my kids plates. Hands down, everything tasted soooo good!! The service was good as well. One star off for cramping us together on the patio and not extending the table but I get it, it was a busy afternoon and you accommodated best you could. Will be returning for the food. So good!

Yelp
Every experience I have here is fantastic. My BF and I walk down here often and sit outside with the pup, who is just as doted on, as they always bring him ice water. We love all the servers. They all are very welcoming and accommodating, yet down to earth and real with you. Shout out to Kate, whose sense of humor is infectious, and Devin, who just got promoted to GM, which is well deserved. We love the drinks and the all day happy hour on Thursdays. The specials are usually good, fun, and seasonal. My favorite dish is the Red Wine Braised Short Rib. It's so tender and delicious. I also love the wings, and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. Honorable mentions: baked mac & cheese and the spicy sriracha pasta. Thanks for many wonderful meals, Social List. :)

Yelp
Server asked my friend and me to move our table while we were literally eating our food. Must have apologized six or seven times afterwards because they clearly realized how ridiculous it was. Cool ambiance that is sadly not run by serious people. Deeply regret not leaving the second the server asked me to put down my burger and move everything. What a joke.

Yelp
Came here my second time to celebrate friend's birthday. And both times the food quality remains the same. The cocktails are also well crafted and is consistent. It's during the Halloween month so you get a festive Halloween vibe throughout the restaurant. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere space. Food: there menus change so it is exciting they go with the season . My first time I had the clam chowder fries and it was the bomb. Second time they changed it and took it out. (Hope they bring it back) the clam chowder its self is tasty. Ordered the crab cakes again and it is very flavorful and great initial texture paired with salad. The grilled octopus is cooked well also tender and flavorfully pairs well with a cocktail. I had the shrimp and chips basket, wish there was more shrimp because there were loads of fries. The shrimp and grits was done nicely with creamy grits. The Sichuan chicken burger had excellent flavor and your can taste the Sichuan peppers. We didn't have room for dessert both times so I cannot review that. Overall nice place for hearty food and crafted cocktails

Yelp
The Social List is located in the hip 4th Street district of Long Beach. The place is a cool open tavern atmosphere serving delicious pub comfort food from burgers, sandwiches, salads, and large plates. I was a bit hesitant about ordering their chicken pot pie; however, I was glad that I did. It was honestly one of the best pot pie that I've ever had! The top crust was puffed up souffle-like and the filling was stocked full of chicken in a delicious chicken sauce. Their burgers and sandwiches were also good and hearty. Beware that the brava style potato upgrade for your side has a kick to it. Regular and garlic fries would be a better choice if you don't care for moderately spicy potatoes. Service was very good for our party of 6. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some good recommendations. She even provided separate checks to make the bill settlement easy for us. The Social List offers bar, inside and outdoor patio seating. What isn't readily available is parking! Parking is at a premium if you can find it on the residential streets. I believe parking on 4th Street is free after 7PM. Otherwise, there is a public lot across the street from the restaurant on St.Louis Street that charges $5 an hour or $10 from 6-8PM.

Yelp
Service: despite it being super busy, the waiter was attentive. Food: ordered shrimp app and it was delicious. Ambiance: sat outside and it was perfect for people watching. Very crowded but that was because it was Friday night.

Yelp
Great service for a party of 10. Server was superb and very knowledgeable of the entire menu. She made recommendations that did not disappoint us all night. The establishment had a great bar type vibe. Places to eat at the bar, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. 5/5 Food: 5/5 Red Wine Braised Short Ribs Chicken Pot Pie Bread Pudding with Vanilla IC Warm Bread Butter Cake The short ribs were exquisite. They were fall apart tender and the marination was superb. The sauce was right on point. Chicken pot pie was quite amazing filled with shredded white meat and a hint of cheese. The crust was baked perfectly. Both desserts were amazing. The bread pudding was coco nutty. It went very well with the ice cream. The abroad Butter Cake was excellent as well. Our waitress was outstanding 5/5

Yelp
We came here for brunch and ordered the Japanese smoked brisket and the short rib melt, both of which were delicious! We also tried their espresso martinis; they were strong but had great espresso flavor. The highlight of our experience was our server, Chloe. She was incredibly attentive and had a bright smile throughout our visit. We'll definitely be back and hope to have Chloe as our server again!

Yelp
Wonderful servers keep your glass constantly refilled. Delicious food and unique menu. They have several Cajun items which are authentically seasoned. Try the Cajun shrimp and grits. The coconut shrimp is also delicious. The Japanese sea bass is amazing with potatoes and broccoli. Prices are excellent especially for a beach town! Nice decor and you can people watch while you eat.

Yelp
$37.48 (food: peanut butter french toast waffle, cajun shrimp and grits. drink: 2 waters) The Social List monologue: This smell good beauty on a plate certainly lifted my spirits on a late breezy Saturday morning after an early morning rain.  I enjoy receiving meals that are curated from the mind of a unique imagination... I really needed to know how peanut butter blended with pain perdu (language lesson - french for french toast, i think)...I found out, quickly! One word. Yes, yes, and mmm that was delicious. Ok, not exactly one word,  but you get the point. Anddddd they lightly carmelized the banana for that extra fancy umph on the plate. I devoured my meal. My plate was almost as clean as it would have come from the dishwasher. A great meal, in a totally vibacious building with a cross breeze that would have you asking for a 2nd round of mimosas. There were great musical tunes projecting from the ceiling speakers at an acceptable brunch volume. The booth/bench seats were firm, clean, not torn nor taped with matching colored tape. I like that they take care of their seats. My brunch partner didn't care for their grit dish. Not exactly sure why. But I do remember they mentioned they just wanted to check it out... Nonetheless, come on in to The Social List, position yourself into a clean and comfortable seat and enjoy a peanut butter french toast waffle with your drink of choice. P.S.- the place is a lil tight, when walking to/from your table for various reasons. So be sure to have on your best smell good so you aren't talked about in an unpleasant way.

Yelp
I visited The Social List by way of the Good Luck Vinyl Club event for the Cure's Disintegration album. Parked on St Louis Ave. in a small parking lot just north of here and on the left and spent $9.90 to park here via the ParkMobil app. This place is small and has indoor and outdoor seating, but for the event I attended it was uncomfortable and awkward. The event was sold out and there were people spilling out onto the sidewalk and inside it was hard to move around, let alone get a drink. I made my way to the sea of people standing by the bar and ordered one of the themed drinks for the event. It was really strong/good however it was so crowded I had a hard time finding a place to just stand and drink it. I ended up outside and eventually asked to order food and was told to find an empty seat outside towards St. Louis ave and someone would be by to take my order. I waited a while and walked up to a server in the area and put in my food order which was two vegan dishes. They were decent/good and based on this I'd order the vegan dishes again (see my pics) and would consider coming back on a non record party day. As for the Good Luck Vinyl Club, it's a no for me. I've been to two other "record listening" events and those are slightly different, but the common and most important factor to me was the sound set-up was excellent. Listening to an album here was mid because the speakers were small and hanging from the ceiling which did not offer a high def. surround sound experience. I'd rather listen to an album in my car to be honest versus here because it's more comfortable and the sound is way better. Also, seating is very limited and you're stuck inside facing forward and standing around in a crowd in a small space listening to an album with little to no space to move. I should mention this night was sold out so that might not be the case for other record listening events.

Yelp
Richest clam chowder: we ordered a cup then a bowl. Amazing. Their deviled eggs are well seasoned. Our server was also our bartender. We got 4 Poppet: lychee and strawberry martini I'm drooling thinking of them now. A little on the sweet side, but strong and refreshing. Mac&cheese and short rib burgers were solid. Can't wait to come back to try their whiskey flight samplers. They have patio seating, indoor by giant open windows, and lots of high tops. It's ambiance is loud and fun. Service is fast and friendly. Parking is a nightmare. But we enjoyed the walk post dinner.

Earth C.

Yelp
Love this spot. Great food and drinks. The staff is very friendly. It gets busy and loud but overall a very great place. The baked mac and cheese is to die for.

Yelp
We visited The Social List today for lunch. We were greeted and seated right away. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is festive and nicely decorated for Halloween. Most importantly the food was DELICIOUS!!!!!

Yelp
We had a nice birthday lunch at The Social List. Reservations were easy and the staff was attentive. But there were a few slips with communication. The star of the show was the "recession proof" bloody mary special that was, are you sitting down? $6!!!! What in-the-2019 is this price?! It also came with a strip of bacon and egg. Amazing. Though I was confused because if you wanted to make it a double, it was $8 more. How about I just order TWO separate drinks? Very Silly The portions were great, but it was your pretty standard brunch in terms of food. My szechuan chicken sandwich had a whisper of szechuan powder(17). It was pretty bland especially when I was expecting it to knock me out of my seat. For this price, I'm glad it came with fries. Though, forgettable. When I asked the server if the ranch / garlic aloi came with the burger she said yes, but then I found a $3 charge. She suggested the sauce for everyone and at the end we had 5 untouched containers of dip. I felt a bit cheated to be charged when she confirmed that it came with it. And it was a waste. When I asked the staff if they do anything for birthdays, they responded, "we can do the pazooki" That's great! But they brought it out without a candle. No problem, we brought our own, but I wish they told me. NBD. However, they charged for the pazooki which... means they actually don't do anything for birthdays. There was a forced gratuity of 18%. Of course, but their little device suggested even more tip. This is really obnoxious and awkward especially when they hold device and look at you the whole time. As the 3 star rating suggests: it was okay.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped here for dinner after going to the art theater. Thursday nights they have happy hour all night, so wine was six dollars a glass. I had the green goddess salad and she had the summer Tuscan flatbread. Both were delicious. We sat on the heated patio, which was very comfortable. The staff was friendly. They were only open till nine so before we were finished, they were already cleaning up the patio and putting the chairs away.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food mostly (took off for the cold soggy fries) . The place is clean and comfortable. Our waiter was fantastic.Found out he's the manager. Parking can be challenging.

Yelp
The food is delicious and fresh! I love the ambiance of the restaurant inside. Very aesthetically pleasing. The staff is always welcoming/attentive and the service is quick. A good selection of food, anywhere from burgers, salads, pastas and specialty plates. I've tried a few different things and have not been let down whatsoever. I would recommend trying this little restaurant! There is a patio to enjoy the sun or the refreshing evenings. This is a wheelchair accessible restaurant inside and outside.

Yelp
This has been a favorite to go to for brunch for the past couple of years. I'd say it can be casual but a lil vibes since it's in retro town. Every time I go I get the chilaquiles 8/10, but this time I had the pesto pasta 10/10 it was sooo good!!! And we tried the short rib which is part of brunch 10/10 I do wish it had more meat in it but it was still delicious. They have some holiday drinks that I definitely recommend! We had a bday party and it was a big party, but I asked ahead of time to have separate checksx which was helpful. They don't do bottomless mimosas but you can buy per the bottle which is $20 and I think that's a reasonable price since you guy about 4 glasses worth. I haven't gone before for dinner but I'd also recommends

Yelp
It's been two years Since my last visit and I didn't review it since it was mid pandemic and I was mostly being frightened for my life. But the parklet was open so I masked up and braved it. What a difference two years makes... Today an extra super sunny day in December - go figure - and the atmosphere is perfect for a lazy Saturday brunch. There's a street faire down the block adjacent, making for a festive background. Special holiday drink menu yielded something called jingle bells, vodka, sweet vermouth, cranberry spiced, wine, lime, and Prosecco all in a heart-shaped glass perfection. The dog loved sunning himself on the bench (no humans were displaced) and love people watching. My guest was late but waiter D recommended the special drink menu and i done right in. My guest arrived 33 minutes late and so deserved the brief but respectful tongue lashing they received. We made up over a skillet plate and a hamburger. Both were delicious and very well plated. My skillet was served in a small skillet, which always keeps it warmer longer. My preference. (I hope the portions don't get any smaller, but if they do, the price should too)

Yelp
Visited again this past Sunday! And just really happy with this restaurant great vibes service and the vegan options are plentiful and all the ones I've had have been delicious! The vegan scramble was amazing and please ask for the house made salsa it's a must have.!

Yelp
I decided to stop by for food and wine and I am so glad I picked this lovely little gem! Food: 9/10 The menu isn't so vast so you aren't overwhelmed with choices, but I still asked the bartender for his recommendation and I'm so glad I did! I had to take this place up on their statement that they had the best burgers in LB, and even though I got a burger with quite a bit going on it did not disappoint! Any meat lover will dive into the napoleon with pure delight and the red blend wine the bartender recommended to pair with the burger was purely divine. I am sad I couldn't experience the fondue Gouda cheese and had to opt for the vegan cheese instead due to my extreme lactose and tolerance. The fries were the only part that was simply ok, I would recommend offering seasoned fries because they were quite bland, but perhaps it's a great options for people not wanting to take in too much salt. Vegans can be happy with this joint because they have several vegan options! Also note they have beer on tap that isn't in the menu. Service: 10/10 Luis took such good care of me and I enjoyed all of his recommendations. He was very attentive, patient, kind and knowledgeable of the menu. Ambiance: 10/10 Laid back and decent amount of seating. As usual I just seat myself at the bar. Clean and welcoming! Just be aware that the parking is the same as any other joint in DTLB, gotta cross your fingers and hope you get something close by. They've turned the street curb parking into paid parking. I lucked out and found an available spot in the neighborhood right around the corner.

Yelp
Great find off the beaten path ! Everything we tried was excellent, homemade bread and jam, French Press coffee as an option was excellent, just wish I lived closer !

Yelp
We came up from Costa Mesa to try this place out and will make the drive. Great service, the chicken and waffles may be the best ever. The crab cakes were also fantastic.

Yelp
Had went there with a friend , order the ahi tuna nacho , the tuna was looking greyish instead of dark brown since the lady said it was from the soy sauce . Also order the short rib melt and it had a long hair coming from inside the sandwich . But overall the service was such a disappointment for me and my friend . Mind you it was our first time . We just paid for our drinks and left .

Yelp
It's a good spot for some all American bar food. Nothing that immensely stood out, but i was drawn to the short rib melt. And let me tell you that it was delicious. Definitely hearty and savory. I also had the spinach artichoke dip, which was a great appetizer. The drinks had were the Walking Dead and Edward Ciderhands. The walking dead was okay, nothing that blew my mind. The Edward Coder hands was better, but not a stand out to me. Overall not a bad place. A little o the pricey side, but not too unreasonable. Definitely a place to check out to see for yourself!

Yelp
We ate outside because we had our pup with us. What we ordered: Shared: grilled octopus and potatoes as an appetizer and warm buttercup for dessert Me - cup of catalina clam chowder and a green goddess salad + chicken Him - napoleon burger + THC IPA draft Overall a solid lunch. The octopus was probably ly my favorite of the meal. Very well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. I can only assume the burger was a hit because it was nearly gone before I looked up from mixing my salad. The soup had great flavor but I think I only came across one small piece of clam. The salad was pre-tossed in green goddess dressing and tbh it could have used a little more. There was probably more croutons then needed. The chicken was perfectly cooked but the avocado was pretty brown. $24 bucks for a salad, it should be perfection. Never had buttercake before I thought it was delicious! My bf thought it was too thin. All in all I'd come here again if I were in the neighborhood but I'd order a sandwich or entree to get more bang for my buck. We took a dessert to go. The total came to 140 after tip.

Yelp
I was on my way to the Art theater and decided to stop in for a quick bite before the movie. I went with an impossible burger and a beer but I was soooo tempted by the old fashion menu that I will have to go back. The food was perfect, love the garlic fries, and it was not a long wait to get served. I'm on 4th street often and I will definitely make this one of my regular stops.

Yelp
Overall this is a good spot for brunch. Came here for Sunday brunch with my sisters. The experience was good, it was pretty busy so I'd recommend reservations. Food was good and flavorful, the only dish that was a little lacking in my opinion was the cornmeal waffles and chicken. The chicken was pretty juicy in all dishes but the cornmeal waffles were very dry. I could have used either more butter or more syrup. This place is very lively inside, so if you are looking for a more quiet spot, brunch time on Sunday may not be the time to go or try sitting outside.

Yelp
Picked up buffalo cauliflower to go. This place has a great vibe. The servers were very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to come back and enjoy a meal and cocktail.

Yelp
My husband and I were down in So Cal visiting and had date night with one of our best friends. We had gone out to dinner but since we hadn't seen each other in ages wanted to continue our date onto a more lively scene This place was packed. There were plenty of outdoor seating but since it was raining people were converged inside. The bar seating was minimal, but we were able to squeeze into a spot straight away until more opened up. Bar service was amazing, friendly and prompt. The cocktails were fantastic; perfect amount of pour. As I mentioned previously, our orders were taken and served promptly. I was impressed at how welcoming the staff were. Their interaction with each other was playful and friendly, which added to the ambiance. I gave it one less star due to lack of bar seating, I know, petty but with this type of establishment bar ample amount of bar seating draws more business. All in all, I loved this bar.

Yelp
Stopped by yesterday Sunday afternoon. Plenty of open seats outside and a few inside, YET a long line of customers waiting fo Maitre De at podium in front. Seemed disorganized. After about 10 minutes I get a table. Then approx 5 minutes later a girl comes by and asked if I have been helped. I said no and immediatley gave her our order. I knew if I didnt give it to her right away, she may never come back. After about 10-12 minutes another girl drops off our food order, BUT We never even recieved our drink order! AS far as I Know unless things have changed, Drinks FIRST, food SECOND. Her excuse..Sorry Bartenders very busy. Your drinks will be out shortly. Well, 1/4 way thru our meal, another girl comes by with drinks, this is incredible. Not sure why the service is so poor and disorganized. REGARDLESS.... Try the collosal shrimp in butter and garlic with side of bread, 10 STARS!!! I will definetley give em another shot at my business, hopefully it was just a short staffed day or something. So far 10 STARS food 1 STAR service 10 Stars Drinks Sorry for only 4 stars ATTN management fix your hospitality crew. SERVICE Horrendous. ANYWAY this place has great VIBE, EXCELLENT dishes, Proper drinks and ambiance

Yelp
Tried out their seasonal menu and ordered their Chicken Pot Pie and the Waffle Chicken Tenders. It seemed liked a busy night because our server forgot our order pans water but there were a lot of customers and not enough servers, so I totally understand. I would get the chicken pot pie again! The waffle chicken tenders were okay, probably wouldn't get again. Friday nights are busy and if you can get a reservation, I recommend to do so!

One was the cauliflower very tasty we eat it all up...i would suggest that the cauliflower could be a little more el dente..but we didn't leave any of it on the plate. Second dist the Flat Bread....Yummy so delicious. So Fresh tasting and crisp perfect as a share. Again service was awesome!
