Sorting Room

"Set within an impressive, modish hotel this elegant, brasserie-style spot boasts leather banquettes, attentive staff and a wide-ranging menu of British dishes. Start with Welsh cold cuts or oak-smoked octopus and crispy pork, followed by Brecon lamb or beef Wellington – and don’t miss the Taffy apple cider tatin, which is big enough for two to share." - Michelin Inspector

Love the food and the service there! The waiter was nice, introduced the dishes and you could hear lots of laughs around! The dishes were unbeatable! We didn't Oder a lot since we had a big meal before, but you can tell the quality of the food by the pic. If I'm going to revisit Cardiff, I'm coming back to this restaurant again:))

Five stars in every aspect! Highly recommend it even if you’re not staying at the hotel, they have a kids menu that it’s a must when you’re traveling with kids. The food tasted, looked, and smelled fresh, and it is because they source everything locally. I loved the atmosphere, and the service was outstanding. Maximiliano and everyone else was great, very friendly, and happy to help and explain the menu and our options. Definitely look forward to coming back, and enjoying another great item of the menu.

Came for the first time for a birthday treat and I’ll definitely return! On arrival they brought me a birthday cocktail which was a nice gesture. The service was slow to start when we wanted to order some drinks but overall great, they were chatty and friendly. For starter we shared some bread and scotch egg which was mouthwatering. For main I decided to go for the Beef Wellington as I never see it on the menu and they pulled it off! The meat was tender and the pastry was cooked to perfection, which I expect at £52!! Nice for a treat but some of the other dishes on the menu were reasonably priced so will definitely revisit. After mains I was stuffed so opted out of dessert but the server brought over a cheesecake with happy birthday written on the plate. Of course I ate the entire thing 😂 The bill for 4 of us (2 of us had Beef Wellington £52) came to £293. We had a few glasses of wine each and a bottle. Also 2 starters and 4 mains - without the beef wellingtons I would say for the experience it’s definitely worth trying. Sophisticated atmosphere and relaxing. Look forward to my next visit!

The staff on entering the hotel directed me to a waiting area just outside the restaurant where I met up with a good friend before going in for our booking. Prices are very reasonable for an upmarket place and it has a decent winelist. Service is excellent and relalaxed. The food is excellent and I couldn't fault it. I love the wood panelled room as it gives a lovely relaxing feeling whilst you spend your time enjoying the food. Despite thinking, it was a small portion I couldn't finish it despite eating all I could. The root vegetables were gorgeous. I'll certainly be back. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We went for our anniversary meal last week and it was such a great experience. Excellent service provided along with delicious food. The dishes have generous portions so order accordingly. We tried the lamb and chicken for mains, very flavourful. We are already considering our next visit 🙂

The Sunday lunch was delicious. They could cater for gluten free more than the menu let's on, which was really helpful. The scotch egg was amazing to start, but the roast wasn't anything special. Really good experience though and will return next time we're in town

Very impressive entrance and restaurant that raises expectations. This is a Michelin listed restaurant. The food and presentation is deserving, but some staff require training to fulfill the dining experience you pay for.

Excellent ambience and very pleasant and attentive staff. Impressive food presentation and quality is much higher than average in Cardiff. Especially, beef wellington and salmon are so tasty. Highly recommended for family and friends dinner.
