Best Pool Food and Drink in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Opened at the Arizona Biltmore following its late 2021 renovation, The Spire Bar has become one of the Valley’s best-loved outdoor drinkeries. Even better? It’s steps away from the historic property’s seven pools, including one with a 65-foot-tall water slide. Grab a seat with a small tabletop fire pit, sip a draft margarita or Old Fashioned, and watch as the sunlight strikes the 30-foot spire rising from the barback, changing color as the day fades. Highlights include two sangrias and imaginative-but-not-intimidating cocktails, like the “Rum Heaven,” which blends sake, rum, lime, and pineapple." - Chris Malloy

Out of all the bars here at The Biltmore, my wife and I enjoyed this menu, atmosphere and service. Peter treated my wife and I with much respect and was friendly on our anniversary. Very thankful for people like him. Was also here for game 7 of the finals and it was a great atmosphere

If you’re looking for great vibes, beautiful people and a swanky atmosphere. You have to try this bar! The drinks are definitely pricey so don’t come here being cheap. We had a salad and salsa and chips as Appetizers the Greek salad was pretty darn good! You’re mainly here to enjoy the crowd. Great spot for business networking not a great spot for families.

Came here for drinks and apps and it was such a fun vibe! Drinks are kinda pricey and it was a little hard to get served quickly, but it was worth it for the atmosphere.

Cameron made our experience here top notch. This experience could have been so bad but he stepped up and made it right. Great food, service, and atmosphere! Highly recommend this place if you are staying onsite!

After being overcharged by $100 the manager John was SO RUDE explaining “we must have bought more”…we didn’t. And even saying he couldn’t understand how we were charged. As locals who love Spire, we were truly disappointed with how John handled the situation.

Here for an outside holiday party. Even though it was a cold night, it was comfortable with outdoor heaters and fire pits. Service was great!

This new bar, added during the resort Covid shutdown is gorgeous. Comfy, lots of shade, beautiful setting, fabulous drinks and snacks. Friendly service. The only bad thing is, no food or drinks before 4 pm.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, great seating areas with misters which is a great way to watch a game in the evening while the sun sets with a view of Camelback Mountain.

Yelp
Located in the Arizona Biltmore. Nice, outdoor fireside seating. Food, drink and service a bit lacking. Service was friendly, but slow. Food was just ok. We ordered the jumbo shrimp (ok), loaded fries (soggy), and the pepperoni flatbread (ok). Drinks were average. All in all, pricing was typical resort inflated.

Yelp
We had a good experience at this bar. The service was attentive and friendly and the drinks were good. The space also lovely and there are several TVs with games on. I'm not going to knock them, but the food wasn't that great. We ordered several items, but nothing stood out as memorable or special.

Yelp
I wanted to give them a five. I went to the bar and I asked if they had a menu and if I just picked a place to sit if someone would come by and the bartender assured me yes, so I said I'm gonna go sit by one of the fire pits and the bartenders like it's chilly. That's a good idea, and it probably took 10 minutes for someone to notice me because I'm not exactly invisible. I feel maybe because there were a lot of larger groups and there were like 3 to 4 servers I think working but at one point two servers were serving one large party of about eight people and I wonder if they just saw a single person and didn't think that the tip would be worth it?? When the server finally did come over she was really nice. I did mention I've been waiting a while, so I was hoping that I would get decent service. I had to ask for my check though, and my drink was empty and no one came and asked me if I wanted another one which is fine I didn't want one but it would've been nice if I had been offered. The bar itself is beautiful. There's lots of places to sit. I went at about 7 o'clock 730 somewhere in there and I was able to easily find a place to sit. It was decorated for Christmas. There's lots of blue lighting and reflection pools and if I lived in Phoenix, this would be a spot I would regularly go to, even if it is a bit pricey. I think my cocktail was in the neighborhood of $22. I got a peach drink and it was very dry. It was not sweet and fruity like I was hoping I mean don't get me wrong-I drank the whole thing. I also got the chocolate mousse dessert and it was very chocolatey and decadent. If you are a chocolate person, you will love this I was tired of it about halfway through, but I forced myself to eat most of it. Also, I'm not a huge chocolate person so if you like chocolate, you will be in love with this dessert it was so good. I saw people wearing shorts and T-shirts and jeans I saw people dress to the nines so whatever you're wearing you'll fit in just fine here but it is an outside bar so make sure you bring a blanket or a sweatshirt because you might get chilly ! There's also another bar on the property called the Wright Bar. The tequila sunrise was invented here in the 1930s I went in there but after being at the spire bar the Wright bar was so disappointing. I didn't take any photos of it at all because it just was dim in comparison to the spire bar. I honestly wasn't even sure what part was part of the bar and where it ended it's a little bit of a weird area in that hotel. I think that's the only place they missed the mark. If the service had been better, I would've given a five, ambience off the charts, delicious dessert, drink was okay, but that was a personal preference on my part.

Yelp
The bartender opened a tab: totally fine. Ordered an $11 beer and $20 pizza: great. Another patron offered to pay my bill: awesome. I watched her tell the bartender to transfer my bill to her tab, he said ok. I finished my meal and our conversation and thanked her and left. My credit card was charged $46. I called the hotel multiple times and was transferred to an answering machine. I left multiple messages that went unreturned. I disputed the charge with my credit card. They sent a receipt dated the day before, no signature, not itemized, and somehow that was good enough.

Yelp
Super trendy spot in the Biltmore! I've been to the Spire Bar several times and each time I enjoy the cocktails and the beautiful bar. Located in the Biltmore resort, the Spire Bar is an outdoor bar that is perfect to enjoy in the fall and winter with good weather! Service is good and the drinks are tasty! The drinks are a bit on the high side for price but worth it for this hip and trendy place.

Yelp
Both food and service are subpar. I expected so much more than freezer burned pizza and weak drinks.

Yelp
This bar is so beautiful - the vibe is so cool and so fun! There are misters surrounding the entire bar to keep your cool. Our order was a prickly 75 and a gin dirty martini. The prickly 75 was a play off a French 75, but so much better. Fruity and went down very smooth, I ended up getting a second one! The Gin martini was just a classic gin martini, nothing out of the ordinary here, just a really good dirty martini. Note: the drinks are very expensive. Be prepared to pay $18-20 per drink! This would be a great place to visit if you were staying on the Biltmore property, or to come to just to have a drink. Their outside area where the bar is is stunning and very relaxing. There are also great restaurants to pair with your drinks on the property.

Yelp
We found this bar during our stay at the Arizona Biltmore. It is absolutely stunning, and a great place to watch sports, or just hang out. The Spire Burger & Margherita Pizza were just OK, but the Sesame Soy Chicken Wings were outstanding, as well as the Moscow Mule. The service by Casey was excellent.

Yelp
The service was soooo slow. Took us so long to even order drinks. The food and drinks were very good, on the pricey side!

Yelp
Terrible food and drinks the night we were there. Restaurants inside were a million times better.

Yelp
Ate here last night with my daughter who has celiac disease. Quite a few items were marked GF. She ordered the country chicken sandwich and shrimp cocktail. No joke, she received THREE large (not jumbo sized) shrimp for $22 plus tax and tip! Turned out the sandwich was not GF at all! Not even close. The breading is gluten. Good thing the server caught it or she could have become extremely ill. I spoke to the manager about it and they are fully aware it's not GF but have it on the menu anyway. It did not sound like they were in any hurry to update the menu. I ordered the lobster sandwich. It was okay. Three layers of bread with avocado and a spoonful of lobster for $28++. One sandwich, three tacos (subbed for the sandwich), one appetizer and one glass of wine was $112.
