The Splendid

This was an unexpected find! I would tell anyone not to miss this as a destination for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Incredible value in a beautiful setting. The restaurant is authentic, charming, and historical. During the Christmas season, it was adorned with the most beautiful Christmas decor. For a special occasion or brunch this is our favorite place in Midtown. The staff and service is perfection. If you’re staying at the Omni, make this year go to for a meal or just to sit at the bar. Prioritize the splendid over the Omni, and count on the Splendid to take care of you after you walk miles around the city and explore New York. There were a few times we went looking for a nice place to eat around town and realized the Splendid would have been a better choice for value, convenience, and experience. Thank you to everyone who made us feel right at home and took care of us. You helped to make our holiday full of great memories and great food! Save room for all the desserts!

I am a disabled senior, sometimes eating out can be a challenge not at SPLENDID. First no stairs you enter from the sidewalk. You open the door and you feel warm and cozy. The staff, pardon the pun is SPLENDID! They have many different seating areas each with their own ambiance. The menu is good simple clean food! Served artistically. I was there for THANKSGIVING they had a wonderful PRIX FIX MENU. The Waitstaff is attentive and let you eat peacefully. A rarity in restaurants these days! They have two levels. The upper level is for parties, business meetings, events, even small weddings! The balcony gives you a great view of the first floor. The bathrooms are accessible and spotless. Turn of the century art work adorn the walls including a portrait of Walt Whitman. Why him? The restsurant gets its name from a line in one of his poems. They tastefully decorated for Christmas. Now to prove to you just how attentive they are...my arm was in a cast and just removed the day before Thanksgiving so cutting my food is a task one the chef undertook for me! That gets 5 out of 5 stars from me! The food was both wonderful and abundant. A posh place with a quiet and relaxed vibe. Go ahead make a reservation it'll be worth it! PRICING: $$-$$$

What a beautiful restaurant. The Splendid was opened about 2 months ago and the owners did a fantastic job with the decor. My prime dip sandwich, while on the small side, was probably the best prime dip sandwich I've ever had. It was outstanding! We'll definitely be returning.

The food was of quality and delicious! The ambience and the holiday spirit could be felt. The service was efficient and kind. I would recommend to anyone visiting to not miss eating at Splendid. The bonus is that they are family friendly!

We had a fabulous time at The Splendid . Mickey was our waiter and he was magnificent, He made our romantic dinner date so ideal. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Our appetizers were saltine crab cake and steak tartare and both were amazing. We accompanied them with the frozen martini and a French connection, all we have to say they were perfect in their own right way. For the entres were the Lemon herb roasted chicken and the pan seared wild salmon and they were both splendid, hence the name. Again fantastic food, fantastic service and great ambience with great music. We do recommend!!

Great dinner and escape from the cold and Christmas crowds. Pretty holiday decor and great ambiance. A little dark for reading a menu but the little candle helps and the low light helps with the cozy atmosphere. There were a bunch of families and it is a good restaurant for kids or toddlers since the tables have decent space between them. The kids menu food came out in 5 min max and a glass of milk came out maybe 2 min after ordering - so nice to have kids items come out quick so you aren’t trying to force a cranky hungry toddler to sit still at a table to wait. Mickey was our server and he was great. We ordered the focaccia - delicious! And had the Cauliflower, burger and salmon mains and they were all delicious - highly recommend the cauliflower steak - it was cooked great and sauces were delicious, super unique flavors and all complemented each other great. The cookies and milk dessert was also great and they were able to do a scoop of vanilla ice cream for our son, which was very nice even when it wasn’t on the menu. Overall a very nice meal and would go back again!

the splendid is an amazing restaurant. my wife and i had our celebratory wedding dinner here with our friends and family. the Brussel sprouts were insane. i loved them. i also loved the cheesecake and lobster. i think we found our new go-to dinner spot. i wasnt sure what to drink and the waitress was kind and explained each option so i knew i would be happy. the front hostess at the door was very friendly and the waiters/kitchen staff were so attentive. we will be coming back!

Mickey’s professionalism, attentiveness, and deep knowledge of the menu elevated our evening and truly reflected the standards of a fine dining establishment. Every recommendation was thoughtful, well-timed, and tailored perfectly to our preferences. Mickey struck the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our meal without interruption. The attention to detail, graceful service, and warm demeanor made us feel genuinely cared for and welcome. It’s rare to find a server who enhances the experience so seamlessly. Because of Mickey, our evening was memorable, relaxed, and truly special. They are an absolute asset to the restaurant, and we look forward to returning and requesting Mickey again.

Great food, ambiance, Mickey for a waiter makes for lovely evening. You must go! From apps to burger! Everything was amazing!

i never leave reviews & i want to gate keep but i also want it to stay open so - a 12 out of 10. we were looking for some place to watch a football game & i had walked by this place earlier in the week. phenomenal experience, essentially a swanky sports bar with chic decor but they set us up with our own tv to watch the game. shannon was our server & she was lovely. food was incredible - caesar salad was amazing. great spot, hope this stays open for a long time!

Awesome decor. Elegant vibe. Really good food. Bartenders are very well trained. Walking distance to almost everything.

Absolutely splendid lunch! This place has a great vibe that mixes class with entertainment. The ambiance of a high end restaurant, with the entertainment of a sports bar. The service was a little bit slower, especially for the half capacity in the dining room. But I will certainly return for my next happy hour. Huge bar!

Food and service excellent. Brussels sprouts amazing. Bathrooms clean. Music is obviously for younger crowd...but, we senior foodies like our lunch (crab cakes, ny dip) immensely. A keeper.

The Splendid is smooth, elegant, stylish, comfortable, convenient, and oh-so attentive!!! They hit every note perfectly - delicious, epicurean food, phenomenally creative drinks for every whim, and service that makes you feel you are the most important party in the room. Being an actual New Yorker, I can say with confidence, this is the right place to bring people you are trying to impress, let alone just treating them well!!

Great event space!! Found it on SixPlus!!! Amazing experience. Food was incredible--especially the tuna tartare cups and truffle Mac n cheese bites. The upstairs area is so dreamy and perfect for events! Gorgeous wrap around bar. Chic furniture. Pictures don't do it justice. My cocktail salt and air was delicious. Good location beer grand central. Staff was very friendly!

This new spot owned by The Stout Group is fantastic!! Absolute must try when staying anywhere near Rockefeller Center!! Apps, Main Course and especially the Milk Shake were all amazing! Great service from Mickey topped it off!! Phenomenal food, drink and service and also some great TVs for watching football!!

We were in NYC the weekend of the US Open finals and made it a point to find a restaurant/bar that we could enjoy a good meal, have some nice wine and watch the men's match. We went to check Splendid out, reserved the table we wanted with a good view of one of the many large screens on the wall and checked out the menu. It exceeded our expectations. I started with a watermelon martini and Fried Oysters Rockerfellow, my husband with a freezer martini with a twist with Oysters on the half. We then changed to white wine and shared the Caesar Salad and a hamburger. For desserts the Cookie shake and a cheese. As their name says "Splendid"!
