Best Places in Bangkok and Phuket for a Sundowner

"With dark wood and gold accents, this 12th-floor hideaway channels old New York while serving sweeping views over the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, with buzzing Siam Square to the right. Part of a hotel with more than three drinking outlets on-site—including the well-stocked bar at Michelin Plate establishment Zuma—it knows a thing or two about stylish imbibing. Though the classics are done exceptionally well here, we’d be remiss if we didn’t recommend the Siam Mary, the Thai flavour-infused version of the hotel chain’s iconic Bloody Mary." - Veronica Inveen

Beyond Thai Food at The St. Regis Bangkok

"In addition to the hotel’s traditional Thai high tea—a draw in its own right with pandan leaf and coconut scones and calming views over the green Royal Bangkok Sports Club golf course—the bar area has hosted special high tea collaborations, like one designed by chef Sayan Isaksson with Scandinavian treats such as house-cured gravlax with rye bread and dill prawns wrapped in kohlrabi, plus, if you wanted, a signature (and fiery) Siam Bloody Mary with Thai chiles, coriander, lemongrass, and wasabi; the tea was such a success the hotel hopes to plan more for bar food, and perhaps even breakfast." - Vanita Salisbury

Absolutely loved the vibe at The St. Regis Bar! The view is just spectacular, you get the amazing city skyline and the golf course. It’s the perfect place to catch a stunning sunset over Bangkok. Plus, the staff are super friendly and provide amazing service. A must-visit for a classy evening out! 🌇🍸

Food was average in that it’s just the standard of what you would expect from a hotel afternoon tea experience. Some specific snacks were great but others were okay. Service could do with a little more attention to detail. They could do better by serving food at the same time, keeping the tea hot, not forgetting to introduce the snacks, and shortening wait times for food. The ambience is what will save this place. The views are gorgeous, and they also have live music. But for this price, it’ll be tough to beat its competition.

Van Gogh-inspired Tea Debuts 🌻 at St. Regis Bar & The Drawing Room The London National Gallery and ARTISTORY are partnering to introduce special afternoon tea and beverage selections inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's masterworks. The St. Regis Bangkok's culinary team creates a unique afternoon tea experience featuring Vincent Van Gogh's "Sunflowers," 🌻 a collection of edible masterpieces. The menu takes guests on a journey, featuring sweet and savory creations inspired by Van Gogh's genius, showcasing his art in an exquisite manner. The 'Sunflowers' menu features a passion fruit Bellini macaron, rosewater, lavender, and lemon pie, matcha waffle with crab meat and daikon, and a corn, pinot blanc jelly, and caviar tart. The 'Head of a Peasant Woman' recipe features a blueberry gateaux, pate de fruit, pecan sablé, and savory blueberry and gin-cured salmon with horseradish mango and butterfly pea sandwich. The 'Long Grass with Butterflies' is presented in an almond eclair with chocolate and hazelnut and an almond gazpacho with pickled honeydew melon. The 'Silver Moon' Tea: A TWG blend of green tea is accented with a grand berry and vanilla bouquet. Suave, with just a hint of spice, this tea is perfect for that special moment. Additionally, the St. Regis Bangkok also offers special drinks, exclusive Van Gogh-inspired merchandise, and immersive decorations in the House of Astor. Beverage Manager, Ivan Zabolotnyi, crafts cocktails and mocktails, while framed replicas of masterpieces and sunflower-themed adornments provide a multi-sensory experience for guests to fully immerse themselves in the gallery's art pieces through intricately prepared food and meaningful décor.

Amazing view! Overlooking the golf course with Bangkok skyline as the backdrop, your sunset view couldn’t get better than this. The food is decent and the service is acceptable. The view and the vibes are the sole reasons for visit. Reservations are highly recommended if you want to get a table by the window.

Came here for afternoon tea in February where they’re having a Valentine’s special. Dessert is presented in velvet/rosé - great choices making them look extra sweet. The smoked duck and caviar, lobster cocktail were extremely tasty. Extra point goes to the St. Regis blend tea - which is a little fruity but complements the dessert very well. As for the atmosphere, this place has an astonishing view, especially during sunset. The decor is luxurious and is very relaxing. Highly recommended for an escape.

I’m a fan of The St Regis Bar, I heard about an adjustment for a menu from my last visit and I was excited to try the newly adjusted menu during my stay. Unfortunately, that made me disappoint, the Tapas Food Snacks menu is limited, food pricing felt unreasonable compared to the portion size, and the presentation was rather unusual. For example, beef tartare presentation was not aligned with international standards, not even consistent with the previous seasonal menu. They serve thin sliced beef with salad on top and call it beef tartare and charge for 500++ THB, which is pretty unique.

I had a chance to try afternoon tea set here because I watched top chef Thailand. I went there to try the afternoon tea set which chef Ae made for the final round of competition. Atmosphere was tranquil. Courtyard could be seen from the restaurant. I fell in love with St Regis blend tea as well as my husband. All sweet and savory dishes were good, but some were a bit peculiar for me. Anyway I was really enjoyed this meal.
