The Stepping Stone

I saw the menu and saw the price for a Pastrami sandwich and decided I'd try it. It's....a pastrami sandwich. Nothing great. Nothing bad. Meat was fine. The cheese and mustard too. Bread could be more toasted. If you just want an average sandwich for an average price, you can't go wrong! What can you really expect when they just have a little panini grill as their kitchen utensil. The bar is cute and has dive bar vibes and the staff is very nice and helpful for the quick interaction I had with them. 5/10*

This bar is perfect in every way. We'll miss you Stepping Stone!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the hours drinking Miller High Life and playing the jukebox.

Stopped in here for an hour or so to have a drink. The bartender and the other customers were quite friendly. Seems like a local bar for the neighborhood.

We only had scratch cocktails which were amazing and unique. Quaint upbeat atmosphere

Fun, friendly, hangout with regulars that aren't shy to start a conversation. My wife and I always feel welcomed every time we've been here. I'd recommend it to new and out of town folks looking to get a sense of the real vibe in Ballard.

Went in pretty early on a Tuesday for a quick draft beer here, the owner was so very nice, the lines were clean, and the vibe was great! She even gave me a recommendation for the neighborhood! Would 100% recommend to anyone staying or visiting Ballard!

It's a small neighborhood bar, full of people who seem to enjoy each other's company. It's well lit but cozy and they have a small but varied beer selection as well as plenty of liquor. If you're looking for a dark hole in the wall, or a place to be alone, pick another spot, but if you want a welcoming local watering hole, pull up a bar stool and stay for a drink.

Recommended this place by a local chef for chill atmosphere and mixed drinks. Drink specials for the day were inventive and delicious. The real 5-star aspect came from the community Stepping Stone cultivates. By the time I left, the whole bar was singing cheesy songs together from the jukebox. Real hidden gem in the Ballard neighborhood.
