The Best Desserts In America, According To Christina Tosi - The Infatuation

"“I love the spirit of nostalgic baked goods. I love baked goods that also give me a new reason to eat baked goods. And K’Far does that. Katreena Kanney is the pastry chef and she's been with Mike [Solomonov] forever. So this has been her coming out party, and I think she just slays. She knows delicious food, she doesn't mess around. The pistachio sticky bun for me is my all-time favorite. They also have an everything seed boureka. It's one of those places you can go early in the morning, midday, even late at night if they haven't sold out, and crush both sweet and savory. I'm an, ‘Oh my gosh, I ate too much chocolate chip cookie dough, I need a few potato chips’ kind of person. For me, a great bakery has both. K’Far is nailing that brief.”" - brennan carley

I loved this spot. Very dope local spot at The Cove. As soon as you walk in menu is to the right on this big blackboard. You order then they give you a number you sit and they bring the food to you. Had the breakfast burrito with home fries. Now at first was like not alot of home fries but there's potatoes in the burrito so it's cool on the starch. Best home fries I've had btw. Crispy and seasoned perfectly. Doesn't need anything else. Burrito was delicious and I used this hot sauce they have out on the counter, local and a great tasting hot sauce. It is really spicy but that's how I get down so loved it. Got a sticky bun and coffee cause I had to try what it was named after. Great fast service. This is the type of place you bring your out of town friends when they visit!! Loved everything, going back for sure.

If your looking for a fun, eclectic, laid back place for breakfast or lunch, look no further then The Sticky Bun in Deerfield Beach tucked in the Cove Shopping Center. The atmosphere is awesome and the service is fantastic. They have a variety of dishes for breakfast and lunch but also have specials as well, you just have to check out their menu on the wall! If you’re lucky you may be able to get the Fried Green Tomato BLT which was delicious!Plenty of seating inside or outside. I will definitely be going back for their sticky buns & bread pudding all made in house!

Google
My first time here. I couldn't wait to taste the food. The cashier that assisted me was very pleasant. My breakfast was quite tasty. I will definitely visit again when I return to Florida.

Google
Angie and Niko were absolute GEMS!!!! I came here with my mom and cousin and the food was incredible and well as the service! The owner Pauline came out to meet us and we will definitely be coming back! The meat is cured in house, the sticky buns were house made and tasty! I loved it!

Google
Great spot. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The food is really good. Gotta try the Jersey special!

Google
We’ve eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food and service. This review is specific to their avocado toast. We ordered two avocado toasts, a lemonade and an iced coffee for a total of $50. This is the avocado toast we were given (about 1/4 of an avocado, greens, two slices of tomato, and two pieces of bread for $17). Absolutely not worth it and just disappointed with the meal overall.

Google
Great little place in The Cove. It’s set in old strip shop that has that 50’s vibe. Only open for Breakfast & Lunch! You order at counter & they bring your food out. Biscuits & Gravy were very good as well as the French Toast with Bacon. Good prices for what you get. Other dishes that came out looked very good also! Definitely will be back…

Google
The jersey special on a roll is a must! Delicious! And the buns were phenomenal. Definitely going again!

Yelp
While walking along the beach, someone overheard us debating where to go for breakfast and recommended this cute spot-so glad they did! Our waitress (I wish I remembered her name-she mentioned she was from Mexico) was super friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Breakfast was delicious and served in generous portions --definitely come hungry! We also enjoyed a nice glass of bubbly to go with our meal, which was the perfect touch. Such a great place to stop for breakfast before heading right back to the beach!

Yelp
What a great place for breakfast! The sticky buns are a must along with the bacon!!! Can't wait to return.. Loved the beach vibes and live music too'!

Yelp
This was our 2nd visit as our first one got a bit interrupted with a family emergency and we had to 'dine and dash' (left quickly, yes we paid) :) Ok....came in around 11 am on a Sunday...super rainy, place was generally packed. Wife and I got seats at the bar which was fine. Loved the guitarist. We ordered some much needed hot coffee (and many refills!); had a late night lol I ordered the breakfast burrito w side of fruit; Wife had the traditional breakfast. Really loved the place and looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Had breakfast here while in Deerfield beach. It's a cute place- the staff is friendly and helpful. The decor is very eclectic and fun to look at. Breakfast was good- we had a few items and really them- I'd eat here again if I was in the area.

Yelp
Pretty good. I went on a Sunday afternoon and got avocado toast and iced coffee. The toast was good and the coffee was "okay". The ambience was cool and the service was good.

Yelp
Everything as always, food is fresh and delicious. Pork belly Benedict is my absolute favorite Benedict thanks to Sticky Bun!

Yelp
*Smoked Brisket Sandwich: delicious. I don't usually like coleslaw, but on this sandwich with the jalapeños- it was a treat. The Texas toast handles the moisture of the toppings very well. *Chicken & Waffles: the waffle batter was fantastic & tasted homemade. The chicken patty I did not like because the batter reminded me of oven baked not fried & crispy. *Side of Bacon: the bacon is definitely a little sweet/candied. *Caramel Latte: perfect. Perfect balance of sweetness & coffee taste. *for a party of 3- I paid $58. Very affordable place to grab a delicious brunch. Will definitely be back. The entire plaza is filled with local eateries & is near the beach. Great location. *Amazing live music & a great beach side cafe vibe. I was celebrating the beginning of my birthday here & the band sang happy birthday to me! My mother, grandmother, & I stayed after 2 pm talking/catching up & the staff said we could stay as long as we'd like.

Yelp
The ambiance was way too loud for our group. The live music is nice, in theory. However, our party of 4 (two adults/two children) were in a long line, for quite some time, once we got in the door, just waiting for get to a hostess, or otherwise be directed as to where we could sit. Eventually, we just gave up, & we left. I could tell, we would not be able to stand sitting there with such loud music playing throughout the course of our meal since we were already getting headaches from listening to it for the length of time it was taking us to even get to the person who would seat us. Apart from that, the ambiance was pleasing. The place was uniquely decorated. Of course, I can't comment on the food since, as it turned out, we could not partake. Judging by the brunch crowd that was there, and willing to wait, I would venture to guess it is likely delicious. I will try to go back at a less busy time/try to find out if there may be a time where there isn't such loud live music playing.

Yelp
The sticky bun was so good. It is definitely a must-try. It had nuts and raisins on top. It was one of the best I have had. It was worth naming the place after. A nice casual spot. This is a dog lover's establishment. It has pictures of dogs all over the place and creative artwork. I liked the place. I enjoyed looking at the coconut blowfish floating around and reading the little signs posted. The bathroom was a joy to visit lol. I ordered the Pulled Pork Arepa. It was good with a little spicy sauce. It was a sweet arepa. I was actually thinking this dish was going to be on the salty side, but it wasn't. It was a good size. It came with a side. I got potato salad and it was one good salad. I liked the food. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. the service good. I liked the music selection. I enjoyed my visit here

Yelp
I really love this place, the food is consistently delicious, The atmosphere is always clean and everyone is happy to see you when you arrive.Praise to NIKO for the hospitality today on Sunday morning March 16 2025!! I would eat there everyday if my purse would allow me to.I would end up looking like a sticky bun or better off a cinnamon roll Today was even more satisfying due to the fact that there was a great musician playing the guitar.KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE Love Stacey

Yelp
The food here is fantastic. Service pretty good as well. The prices are palatable. Probably my favorite place to eat breakfast locally.
google avatar

Yelp
Yum! Cute little local place. Food was delicious. Inside and outside dining. The potatoes were so good- crispy outside and soft inside - not greasy like typical breakfast potatoes. Enjoy!
google avatar

Reixa C.

Yelp
Fantastic place for breakfast. This place is always packed and for good reason. They have indoor, outdoor and bar area seating. The menu is written on a big chalkboard on the right side as you walk in. You order on the counter and get a number. There are plenty of wait staff ready to take any plates or glassware away. They are always moving. They have a high turn around. I've been here twice and this time I had The Heather" sandwich. Egg whites, bacon, avocado, tomato and greens with a side of fruit. You could get fries instead. We also order the Biscuits & Gravy and the Spicy Chicken & waffles. All three plates were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Kudos to a hard working staff!
google avatar

Janell M.

Yelp
The food was fantastic, but it took a long time to arrive. The staff was friendly. I had the tuna melt with a side of potato salad. It was very good and the cheese was melted perfectly. We sat outside because the inside seemed a little cramped.
google avatar

Ken Z.

Yelp
Sticky buns!!! So delicious. If you go here and don't order a sticky bun, you are really missing out. I picked up five sticky buns and a cinnamon roll here a few days ago.
google avatar

Randy S.

Yelp
Service was borderline comical but the food quality more than made up for it. I Would come back again, the breakfast was great. The Ambiance is refreshing and a beachside vibe. Restaurant would fair better with table service rather than ordering at the counter holding everyone up behind. Also don't like being asked to tip before food is served and restaurant provides 1/2 service (self ordering).
google avatar

Yelp
The vegan daughter was in charge today and she directed us to The Sticky Bun. Cute name, cute interior and exterior, with a cute menu. There is nothing cute about the portions. They are massive. Because the place is called Sticky Bun, I got one. It is good, but I have had better. Max's Cuban Sandwich and a side of potato salad are definitely classics. Since there are many restaurants to choose from one needs to stay on par with the rest and this place has no problem. They are always busy up until the last hour. We will come back as it wasn't until we sat down that we learned they cure their own bacon. I could never pass up a slab from the cutest animal in the world.
google avatar

Max N.

Yelp
This place is so cool. I'm surprised I've never been before. When you walk in, the menu is written on a chalkboard on the wall and your order at the front. Then you're able to sit down and wait with a number until they promptly bring out your order. I decided on the classic cuban. Bread nice and flaky, and the pickles give the sandwich a nice bite. The flavors were all well combined and left me craving for more. My wife wanted to have the sticky bun and was happy, but she said she has had better. It is small on the inside, but we were lucky to find a table. If your wanting a light brunch, I recommend giving this place a try!
google avatar

Mary Anne T.

Yelp
The food is outstanding. Everyone is friendly. Best breakfast around. The pecan sticky buns are delicious have one there and take one home!!!
google avatar

Savanna M.

Yelp
The food was disgusting, I nearly was about to throw up in my mouth. I got the classic breakfast, it comes with two eggs, a croissant, and you pick your protein of a pork sausage, pork bacon, or pork something else, I asked if they had any turkey bacon or turkey sausage alternative, they did not. For the side you can get fruits or potatoes. The potato's came out burnt and greasy in a little bitty cup, so only a few, the croissant was not toasted and tasted stale, and the sausage patty was super greasy and made me sick to my stomach. Everything tasted subpar for it being 16.85$ with tip included. I didn't even get my food for a while. The food tasted like disgusting bar food, wasn't a good breakfast. Wasn't worth the money, they couldn't even give me my refund to my form of payment I paid with. Never will I come back again.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
Really good!! Love the sticky bun (cinnamon bun is ok, but sticky bun much better!) food is good I recommend the eggs and croissants, biscuits and gravy and the brisket sandwich which was tender and seasoned amazingly! French toast is just ok but the rest is really good.

Scott B.

Yelp
Great breakfast place. However, if you sit inside on a Sunday ... be prepared to have your ears blow out by the music. It's good music but the acoustics are not calming nor allow for conversation. Sit outside if it's not too hot. (Please ask the musician to shut off his amp. It is not needed. )
google avatar

Carol S.

Yelp
There is always a line so get here early. Seating is always a challenge, but it is well worth the wait! The food has always been excellent and is served with a smile! live music is offered frequently and is always a plus!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday for brunch. Plenty of parking in the Cove and there were inside and outside seating options available when we arrived. My husband and I both ordered the spinach and bacon quiche and had to split a sticky bun. The quiche was ok overall. I was a bit disappointed with the very small amount of bacon. I had one bite of bacon throughout the entire quiche. I did need to also add hot sauce to add a bit of flavor to it. It was a special for the day so maybe it's just not what they are known for? We also got the sticky bun which was very good. It had just enough cinnamon flavor to it and sweetness. If you just want a few little bites, it works to share. I wouldn't necessarily make this my first choice of brunch spots, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again given the opportunity.
google avatar

Gri M.

Yelp
Omg delicious. The bacon is to die for. Don't leave without trying their sticky bun! The prices and service are excellent.

Yelp
My Favorite breakfast spot in the cove! Always plenty of seating inside or out. Quick service and great food everytime!

Yelp
Met some friends here for a late breakfast, and we seem to have stumbled on a cute spot where things are just right. Of course we tried the sticky bun, and it was pretty good. Glad for my waistline I only got one, but could have taken another to go. What we ordered: -breakfast burrito--tasty with cheese, eggs and bacon, served with a side of potatoes perfectly deep fried but not over-fried. Really on point. Even better with Cholula! My only complaint was I'd like more potatoes -Challah French toast--big pieces which weren't soggy but well prepared. With fruit! -iced coffee--this was pretty good, though they serve those small ice chips, which led to a slightly watered down beverage sooner than I would have liked The decor is very Floridian and quaint. The vibe is chill and local. We'll be back!
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
Decor/service: Small little restaurant where you order at counter and take a seat and they bring you your meal. It is clean and well kept 4/5 Food- Biscuits and gravy: the biscuits were a little under cooked and wasn't a huge fan of the gravy flavor. The fruit accompaniment was good however. 2/5 Cinnamon bun- topping icing had good flavor but overall there wasn't enough cinnamon roll flavor. 3/5
google avatar

Madie H.

Yelp
the vibes are good for this place, close to the beach for breakfast on the way out there. they have live music outside too. the seating is super limited and have had a man take a seat from me as i was sitting down so be prepared to be on the defense lol. food is pretty good and something for everyone.
google avatar

Juselle D.

Yelp
Omg they are not a franchise so I'm even more IN LOVE! I will definitely be back! How amazing.

A A.

Yelp
The best place for breakfast Unparalleled service and next-level food The best bacon and buns in Florida !!!!!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a party of 5 at 11:45 am on Sunday, 1/23/22. It was already packed. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The Sticky Bun is very eclectic, with fun decorations on the wall and live music! Here's what I tried: - Sticky Bun: For being its namesake, it wasn't the best. Wished it was warmer. - Cinnamon Roll: Really good! - House Smoked Brisket ($14.99): Amaaaaazing. We got it with the potato salad, which was not that great. - Nutella-Banana Panini ($8.99): Delicious. We got it with the potatoes, which were nothing special and needed more seasoning. I split the House Smoked Brisket and the Nutella-Banana Panini with a friend and it was the perfect. Overall, the main dishes were excellent. The sides could use some work. I would go back though!
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
The best breakfast and lunch spot around. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The staff is super friendly too.

David B.

Yelp
Took my son for brunch on Sunday. Live music and terrific food. He has s brisket sandwich on challah bread and I had the French toast. Don't sleep on their signature sticky bun. Best I've ever had...
google avatar

Yelp
You have to try a Sticky Bun while at The Sticky Bun, duh! It's delicious!!! The service is quick and friendly and the food was good.
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast spot. We went twice on our two week vacation. It's definitely a hidden gem. The avocado toast definitely one of the best I have ever eaten. Sweet potato pancakes unique and delicious. My husband has traditional breakfast and loved it both times. We go every January so definitely will look forward to going back!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Delicious ... everything! The bacon is insane. You must try The Sticky Bun! Worth EVERY calorie.
google avatar

MK C.

Yelp
Excellent quality, service and location. It worth a pick. I ordered the sticky bun breakfast special. You gotta try it

Robert L.

Yelp
They charge you before you receive your food-in our case the Cappuccino was scalded and horrible-one of the worst I've ever had. Seeing as though I already paid (and tipped) no recourses other than they offered me a "coffee". Food was just ok-service was just ok. Would not recommend and we (as locals) won't be returning.
google avatar

Leeza C.

Yelp
Awesome spot for a quick breakfast. The portions were really big for the price. We had the ham and cheese croissant and the breakfast burrito with home fries. And we had to try the sticky bun! Everything was very delicious.

Emma S.

Yelp
Excellent!! One of my favorites! Food is excellent & the best bacon EVER!!! Service was great as well!!!!
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
We love the Sticky Bun even with all the calories; breakfasts are wonderful, eggs, sausage toast and finish with a fantastic sticky bun or a cinnamon roll with icing!! The service is great, just a fun place to eat and meet!!
google avatar

Kai H.

Yelp
Enjoyed a quick breakfast here while on vacation. Enjoyed their burrito, avocado toast, and a sticky bun. Nice seating outside and it wasn't too hot. Food was great imo but the sticky bun....droooooolllllll. I want another one. Def a place to check out if you are in the area and like to get a really good breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
We did a little staycation to Deerfield beach and this was number 1 on our breakfast list. Located in "the cove" plaza, they have both indoor and out door seating. Covid rules were followed and the staff is super friendly. I had a latte made with almond milk. There isn't a lot on the menu if you don't eat eggs/bacon/poultry/ect. I did see an avocado toast...and when I ordered they didn't have the avocado yet. As I was getting set to pay, someone from the kitchen yells that the avocado was there. I was excited. The person at the register quickly asked if I wanted to change my order and I was able to get the delicious avocado toast. This was served more of a sandwich, but the avocado was perfectly ripe and flavorful. I loved it! My husband had the spicy chicken & waffles. He loved it. It was perfectly spicy and would have also made a good sandwich. The little fruit cup was perfect. It's not often you get served perfectly ripe fruit, especially cantaloupe. The sticky bun lived up to the hype. It was tasty and not filled with cooked raisins. Totally worth every calorie! All in all, I would definitely go back. Would love to see additional vegan/plant based options but I LOVED IT!
google avatar

Gary F.

Yelp
I only wish this place were closer to home. The sticky bun first! 1 not ridiculously over sized, 2 not super sweet, 3 nice crust on the outside and soft on the inside, 4 just perfect! I even liked the raisins long top. The meals, timing is everything. When we started to order my wife wanted avocado toast. Only problem was they were out of avocados. Just as we were almost done placing the order, the girl in back yelled out we avocado now, just in time. So my wife got the avocado toast. It was good, not over loaded full of stuff. The fruit that came with it was ripe and very good, usually I get fruit at other restaurants and they serve it before its ripe. Me, I decided on spicy chicken and waffles. Waffles are waffles, they were good, its the chicken. The chicken it was spicy! I love it when you order spicy and its actually spicy, I definitely wasn't disappointed. It was a boneless chicken breast, cooked perfect, not only was it spicy it tasted great. I would have loved to have 2 or 3 pieces of chicken by it self. If were in the area we are definitely going to have eat here again.

Yelp
Recently bought a condo in area and been wanting to try this place for breakfast... it was a Saturday morning and the place was busy ... ordered from the wall menu ... French toast with sausage and a Jersey special Taylor ham cheese and egg on 2 biscuits and coffee.... Food was great ... portions were big and tasty.... Will make this spot our regular breakfast place when in town
google avatar

Yelp
Food 5 Dining Room 5 Service 0 The cashier needs training, or the time to finish high school. Otherwise, it's a five.
google avatar

Ariel W.

Yelp
I have wanted to come here forever just based on the name. If you know anything about me, you can probably figure out my preferred Saturday morning routine when I'm in town, it is a church rummage sale followed by exercise in a park, and then out to breakfast. If I hit those three things, my Saturday morning is running right. As for breakfast I don't want something healthy. After subsisting on a kale and spinach shake every morning during the week, I crave a decadent breakfast. In this category The Sticky Bun did not disappoint. Opened in April of 2015 by owners Mike and Pauline Hrabosky, The Sticky Bun is located in the Cove shopping center close to the beach. Before opening their own restaurant, the couple both worked at JB's on the Beach, Mile as executive chef and Pauline as the baker. Despite the restaurants name, sticky buns are actually the number two best seller. The number one slot goes to the bacon Mike cures, smokes, and slices himself and which has dedicated devotees. The Sticky Bun serves breakfast and lunch. They recently expanded into the space next door and it is as cute as can be with its sea turtle mural wall, pictures of customers dogs over the counter, and a tent set up in part of the parking lot for outside Covid safe dining. Speaking of dogs it is very pooch friendly with its outdoor dining and water bowls for their four legged guests. When I arrived it was crowded. You order at the counter and they give you a number to put on your table and your food is brought out to you when it's ready. It is seat yourself which is not my preference. I was a little concerned that I would pay for food and wouldn't be able to find a table but the lady who took my order assured it me it always works out. Sure enough as soon as I paid a spot opened up at one of the cute sidewalk tables. While I waited for my food I saw other people find tables too. For breakfast I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast which came with their famous bacon. As soon as I saw it I knew I was in for a treat. It was the epic breakfast of my dreams. The sweet cinnamon roll was perfection with the thick salty bacon. It was probably a million calories and worth every one. This was my first visit to this gem but it won't be my last.! This review was written for Yelp's #ThankyouThursday. Thank you to The Sticky Bun, a locally owned business for striving to provide amazing food and Covid safe outdoor dining. Come out and support them.
