Matt and his crew are really into something special here. The pizza was great and there was live music! We sipped on wine and the kids even enjoyed ice cream after a playground visit and running the trails. Thanks! We’ll be back again very soon ❤️

Always a fantastic place to chill and enjoy music. The pizzas were lacking flavor this time around though.

Checked out the Stone Barn for lunch with the family while visiting. It's nice because it does have a non-dairy/vegan cheese and gluten-free options. So even if you have different dietary needs within your group, everyone can find something. They even had a non-dairy sorbet option and their ice cream selection. They have lots of creative Pizza combo for their toppings, and the basics too. The seating is all outdoors with some under a porch roof style covering and picnic benches out on the yard. There's a trail to walk, cute barn cats wandering, and a small swing set. Great place to head out with the family. It would be good to know that while there is no official wheelchair accessibility, after the gravel walk up, a wheelchair could be pushed over the grass or to the covered seating area with some help. So it wouldn't be impossible to bring a wheelchair using relative with, but would plan on having a helper and would avoid it after heavy rain days.

🚗 Well worth the drive! 🍽️ Everything is provided, unlike other pizza barns. 🍕 The crushed tomato base is unmatched! 🧑🏽‍🍳 Creative and flavorful recipes keep it interesting. 🏡 I would come here just for the food, but the peaceful and adorable property make it an experience! 🌻 The atmosphere is so free and relaxing. 🍷 The "stone barn" portion of the seating area is beautiful and romantic and makes you feel special. 🌾 The open grassy area is perfect for families with kids. 🐐 Did I mention they have goats?!? 💯 I love coming here!

Google
We absolutely love the Stone Barn! Incredible food, views and atmosphere! The perfect getaway from the twin cities.

Kristin Simonet

Google
Great place to take a drive to from the cities with the family. Tons of outdoor seating, and kids loved the outdoor playset. Pizza large enough to feed a family of four. We've been here twice and plan to be back!

Google
It's an enjoyable hidden pizza eatery/bar/venue. There are many different wines, domestic beer, ciders, and craft beer to drink or pair with a large variety of artesian wood-fired pizzas. It is family-friendly, with lots of space for kids to play while not disrupting those out for a date night. It is only open on the weekend, and the pizzas are big, so it's easy to over-order. The only two issues I have is that the regular red pizza sauce is pretty bland, and they don't have any dairy-free options at the ice cream "shop." There was a wedding in the venue. However, the wedding venue operates independently from the restaurant, and neither interrupted the other. Overall, I recommend taking the drive for some good pizza and good times.

Google
Still our favorite pizza place but something has changed with the Modena pizza ...only the chicken was previously marinated in balsamic and that's how it's described on the menu but yesterday the entire pizza paper was soaked with balsamic. Preferred it the old way. We had 6 pizzas and none of them had the toppings distributed evenly. But not to worry, we'll be back. Our Santa Barbara guests actually requested yesterday's visit.

Yelp
always an amazing time. this farm used to be in my family so it's amazing to have someone keeping the tradition alive! such a cool place to sit in the country and get away from all the noise. and the ice cream scoops just keep getting bigger...

Yelp
It's been many years since we've been at Stone Barn (it's not on the way to anywhere so you have to make it a destination). Obviously this is not a deterrent as the grass parking lot was clogged with cars when we arrived at 6:45 pm on a Friday (they are only open Friday-Sunday). We were dismayed that a sign indicated there was a 90 minute wait (yes you read that right) for your pizza. Longest 90 minutes (actually a little longer than 90 minutes) even mitigated by the pleasure of walking around the beautiful property and browsing in the gift shop. Ended up getting ice cream before our pizza (it is from Madison's Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, a not miss). By the time our pizza arrived, I was ready to start munching on the wrought iron table! But the pizza was as good as we remembered (genuine wood fired pizza can't be beat) and we inhaled it in 10 minutes! Good selection of beer (in bottles/cans and on tap), wine, and other selections. Once you order, you are given a number and can leave your tab open for additional beverages, ice cream, etc). The wait staff really hustles to get the pizzas delivered once they are out of the oven. Great pizza, beautiful setting, just wish it didn't take so long to enjoy!!

Yelp
Great location. Far away from everything and located in Abbild farm house. Very nice. We order a pizza which was very good but it took 1 hour exactly to make it. A little to long.

Youssef A.

Yelp
Good pizza good service clean place friendly from desk people a lot of working we were not cramped while eating it's very safe to sit at the outside social distancing and we had some cover and some shade over our heads which made it really comfortable whether it's raining or it's sunny. I drove one hour and a half from Woodbury it was worth the drive as long as you have someone with you in the car for entertainment.

Mark L.

Yelp
The Stone Barn is a unique experience. Mostly outdoor seating allows you to enjoy the surroundings and this place is nestled in the tree laden hills. Such a beautiful drive to the place from Menomonie. The drive was almost better than the experience of eating here. The service was great even as there was a rush just as they opened and one cash register was down. Nice selection of craft beers along with wine, pop, apple cider, and more. The ambiance of the old barn with a wood burning stove is pretty neat. The pizza, however was not that great. The dough is bland. The sauce wasn't noticed. And though the toppings were fresh, there wasn't much flavor to the overall finished product. Maybe it was simply a bad batch of the two we ordered. I was surprised there wasn't a bit of smokiness to the flavor either. For the price of the pizzas, I was expecting a bit more. The experience was still nice.

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Awesome experience!!! And the pizza was so good too! We tried the gluten free option and loved it too!

Phil S.

Yelp
The pizza is just spectacular here. Nice ambiance and a cocktail while waiting for your zza is pure heaven.

Ashley T.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza. Beautiful, peaceful location. Just what we needed for our first time in WI.

Jayson A.

Yelp
Been here twice, pizza was better the first time but still good the second time. It's a very cool spot with great pizza. Highly recommend for a road trip or family event.

Monique H.

Yelp
Just when I started questioning if I'd gone the right way, the Stone Barn appears out of nowhere in the middle of nowhere. The Nelson Stone Barn serves as a restaurant and wedding/event space. There was a wedding happening when we stopped in, but it didn't affect our time at all. These charcoal baked pizzas are thin crust and will run about $22. One pizza will serve approximately 3 people. Our Hawaiian had lots of cheese, Canadian bacon, and green bell peppers. While it wasn't the best pizza I'd had, it was still good and the setting was gorgeous. There's a great wine/beer list and a comfortable, laid back atmosphere. Our group of 20 had no problem finding space and got served promptly. Glad we spent our evening here.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Very disappointed in this place. Drive several hours to visit and experience and get horrible customer service where the owners goes into defensive mode and just tries to justify their menu without even asking what they could do to make the experience better. Was shocked when told we wouldn't even eat the pizza and developed an attitude when it was brought up to show them. Never even came around to see if we were ok after. It's unfortunate given the esthetic of the place is cute. But could use better customer service, and ceiling fans. Do better!

Carrie K.

Yelp
An out of the way place for pizza, & when my friend suggested it, I was not expecting much, but boy was I wrong! Pizza is the only thing on the menu & close to a dozen kinds. They have a small gift shop on the property & a good place to wander while waiting for the pizza. All pizza is cooked to order. Very thin crust, so as others have said, you can eat more. A friend & I polished off 3/4 of this pie. Try it, even if it's a bit of a drive, you won't be disappointed.

Katy C.

Yelp
What a gem! This is in the middle of NOWHERE, but what a find! Pizzas are unique and delicious, with a good wine and beer selection (no cocktails). We had the supreme (chorizo was a surprising and wonderful addition), Hawaiian (classic with bell peppers), and the margherita. The basil is literally growing in the center of the outdoor garden. You feel like you have been transported to another country, not just another city. Staff is friendly, great for groups, and a great selection of homemade ice cream for dessert. I recommend the Kitty Kitty Bang Bang (strawberry ice cream with Oreos).

Lorraine N.

Yelp
We traveled a great distance to try this place. It was a hot afternoon and probably too hot to really enjoy this type of venue. Plan your visit on a cooler late afternoon to evening time to really take in the patio they offer. The pizza was really nothing to write home about. A very thin charcoal grilled crust. We opted for the greek pizza and also a traditional pizza for our table. The greek did not have red sauce and we were really sad that we did not opt in for the meat pizza with red sauce because hands down it was just better. They do offer beer and wine. I like the casualness of this place.

M P.

Yelp
We had the thai chicken pizza. It was great. We also had ice cream for dessert. It was great! Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful atmosphere. Can't wait to come back. Inside or outside seating. Bring a blanket if you want to sit on grass. Yard games. Good times!

Phoebe W.

Yelp
Tasty pizza and a perfect getaway on a nice day! Went with my family and the staff was friendly and proper measures were put in place for COVID-19 (only 2 parties allowed inside the barn to order, glass paneling behind the cashiers, and extremely spaced out outdoor tables). The area is beautiful to explore, lots of green and very scenic. Good for a day trip!

Debra C.

Yelp
A barn restaurant out in no where land. I didn't even know it was a restaurant when driving into the area. Looked like a house on a farm. Though as you walk more to the back area it was a cool topless barn where you could order stone cooked pizza and have a beer or glass of wine. It was a very unique atmosphere I have never experienced a place like this and I never knew it even existed. We had the Greek pizza which had lamb, onions, artichokes and olives as the primary ingredients. Loved the crust in being so thin and crispy. I have to say differently had unique pizzas on the menu. Not your standard pepperoni and sausage pizzas. They also have a separate barn that they hold weddings as well. I can't wait to try their margarita pizza!

Traveler T.

Yelp
Great Place to visit during COVID! This is a lovely farm about 1 1/2 hours from the Twin Cities. They have great wood fired pizza, beer, pop and delicious ice cream.! We were pleasantly surprised at how much seating they have. You can either sit on picnic tables or tables and chairs. They continue to bring out more seating as needed. They accept credit cards and give you plates and silverware. We spent $40 and had a 16 inch Supreme pizza, 2 beers and 2 cups of ice cream. One scoop was more than enough! The bathrooms are clean and they are careful to keep us socially distanced.

Chris C.

Yelp
What's better than going to the farm? Going to a farm that makes pizza! We've tried a few of the other pizza farms around and we really like the Stone Barn. One might think that driving 90 minutes is a long ways for a pizza, and you'd be right. But going to the Stone Barn is so much more. It is kind of in the middle of nowhere in WI. In fact cell service at the Barn is sketchy at best. You follow the river south, make a couple of turns and all of the sudden you arrive at the Barn. There is a large grassy area where you may park. The barn is a short walk from the parking area. There are several options for pizza and they have a nice selection of beer, wines and beverages. You place your order and then take a seat outside in their seating area. This area has some covered seating and open air seating. The scenery is very tranquil. In the seating area is a herb garden and a mini waterfall. This is so relaxing you forget you are in WI or anywhere else for that matter. The pizza's are made fresh in their wood fired oven and delivered to your table. We always order a sausage and green pepper and their margherita pizza. The pizza is thin crust and slightly crispy and smoky. The cheese is a smoked provolone and the ingredients are fresh. We always eat more than we should and still have left overs. Sounds like they can have some busy times however the times that we have went, we have never had to wait more than about 15 minutes for our pizza. Even if we did have to wait, there are games to play and the Barn is a beautiful area to relax and get away. Here's a tip, be sure to stop in Stockholm on the way and get a piece of their wonderful pie. Pizza and pie and a beautiful summer or fall evening, it doesn't get much better than that.

Jason H.

Yelp
Beautiful location especially on a fall day. The pizza is good . It's wood fire pizza . We order the Thai Chicken Pizza and a bottle of Chardonnay. I only wish the pizza had more cilantro and cheese . Otherwise we'll return at some point to try another flavor .

Ben S.

Yelp
I have been excited to go to this place for a while and was really looking forward to it. The drive in was amazing as we took the motorcycle up the twisted roads. We stopped in on my girlfriends birthday. The ambiance was amazing, getting our food literally took 10-15 minutes tops, it was fast. The view was awesome, they had herbs growing right in the middle of the seating. The food was fresh, however the pizza was soggy and completely burnt. I'm ok with slightly burnt but the crust was so soggy. I will try to come back again sometime this year to give it another shot...but I was REALLY looking forward to this place and was REALLY disappointed.

Kasi S.

Yelp
Very much worth the drive, delicious food. I like the meditteranean

Brian S.

Yelp
I'm not sure who came up with a business plan that basically concluded "I'm going to open a brick oven pizza place in the middle of nowhere in Western Wisconsin, only be open on the weekends from mid May - end of September, and I'll pack them in" but that's basically what this place is. A place to come with the family, order pizza, and let the kids loose. Pizza itself is meh at best, but that's not why you come here. Good selection of bottled beers and the wine is inexpensive. Definitely a place to detach, hang out with family, and enjoy the rolling countryside of western Wisconsin.

Jeff K.

Yelp
The thing that impressed me the most about The (Nelson) Stone Barn Pizza Farm is the very cool architectural use of the foundation and walls of an old stone barn. They romoved the topmost part of the barn, added wooden beams to turn the main eating area into a very large pergola. In this area they have constructed two raised beds: one for herbs. The other has some beautiful flowers. The Modena Pizza was excellent! Staff came by fairly often to pick up empty bottles, etc. Of course the farm is is situated in a beautiful part of Wisconsin. Overall a very relaxing visual and culinary experience

Sheryl H.

Yelp
Unique, fun, beautiful, packed beyond capacity with customers willing to wait two hours or more because it is that special. Be prepared to sip on some craft brews or fine wine and breathe fresh air with herb garden and woodfired dough scents as you take in the vista. Play some Bocce Ball. It's family friendly with lots of romping and ball tossing room. We may hold our family reunion here in the two story ancient barn with rod iron chandeliers that are simply amazing. Wood fired pizzas must cook quickly so crusts are made thin, order extra. At $$ ratings, you get so much more than pizza. Stone barn is an experience. LOVE Stone Barn!

Brittany B.

Yelp
This food is excellent! The pizza is very thin crust so you eat more than you would expect- I would say one pizza could feed 2-3. The atmosphere is great for date night, family gatherings, or friend get togethers. The majority of seating is outdoor, some under a partially covered area, and a few tables inside. It does take awhile for your food, so expect at least an hour wait depending on the day you go. The food is worth the wait and the view is spectacular. Ice cream is always a delicious way to end the night as well!

Kenneth B.

Yelp
What a really unique place. Converted from an old dairy barn and hidden in a valley. Making the beautiful drive to this destination even more spectacular. This wasn't the first time I've eaten here and sure won't be the last. Funny note, on this visit we brought a friend from the area who had no idea it even existed. This isn't your typical pizza joint. If you're a fan of any of the corporate chains out there, you won't find that pizza here. Brick fired pizza with a gourmet flare. On this visit we tried the Southwestern it comes with chorizo, black olives, jalapeno, and cilantro. Could have used more jalapeno and cilantro, but I tend to go over board with those topping on anything. My favorite is the Greek, but it was the wife's turn to pick. All of their pizza's are 20", but so thin that if your party is bigger than 2 you'll need two pizza's. The edges are slightly burnt and the middle is slightly soft. Cut party style so you can have the best of crunch and soft crust. I personally enjoy both. Wine and craft beer is one of their ways of classing it up. No Falstaff here boys and girls. Local beers and odd fellows from the almost everywhere. I'm not a wine guy so I'll be no help here, if they put the same care in the wine selections as their beer you'll have no problems. This place is absolutely beautiful from the old brick that makes up the barn to the field where your children can play. Yes your kids can throw a ball or Frisbee while you drink and wait for the pizza to arrive. Totally amazing place to visit and eat.

Greg S.

Yelp
Great vibe. But not set up for crowds. Be prepared to wait up to 2 hours for your pizza. Ugh! But it is Buffalo County at its best. The pizza is ultra thin, real wood oven delicious! Set in the middle of a field, surrounded by farmland, it is inauspicious and simple fun. Children playing with toys, pick-up baseball games, frisbees etc.... I'm not sure if you can bring your own wine but they have a decent selection of tablewine. If you were passing through the Wisconsin driftless area of Buffalo County, it is a must stop. Only open on Friday Saturday Sunday, and seasonally during warmer seasons

M B.

Yelp
Great pizza, great people and the best scenic setting you'll find. This place is definitely worth the trip. Chill out, enjoy the view and take it all in. Plenty of good wine and beer plus room for the kids to play too. We tried a bunch of different pizza from the supreme to the smoked salmon and cream cheese. All excellent!

Age C.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about Stone Barn!! Since my first visit a few years back it has been a must for every summer since! The drive out is beautiful and enchanting...and that's just the beginning! The setting of Stone Barn is unlike any other place I've ever been...it is warm and the staff are welcoming, what a fun place to spend an evening. When placing our order the staff did inform us that there was an hour and a half wait, but we already knew what we were in for and ordered a bottle of wine for the view. We watched as others filed in and the children played out in the open country yard. The beautiful bluffs in the background are breathtaking. Our pizza was hot and fresh and was the perfect treat to top off our night! The basil was fresh out of the herb garden - holy yum! If you're looking for a great dining experience in the country with excellent views, pizza and beverages - did I mention they have ice cream?! - it's a must see if you're in the area and even if you're not, take the drive! It's worth it.

Tony S.

Yelp
Made our annual trip around and ending at the stone barn. Good as usual. Weather was a bit iffy and with the outside seating was a little chilly, our fault for not planning ahead. New hours on Saturday, 4-9. Pizza was good, very reasonable price. Will go again for sure.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
The Stone Barn is our family's go to place from May until they close in September! You absolutely cannot beat the amazing artisan pizza and the stunning country views! They have added additional bathrooms and outdoor seating to accommodate their growing clientele! While you wait you can walk through the antique shop, explore the NEW wedding barn or just sit enjoy a drink and marvel at the view! We have had friends travel over 100 miles to come and enjoy the Stone Barn! It's a must see!!!

Sean V.

Yelp
Farm pizza places are growing in popularity and Nelson Stone Barn is not new to the scene. The atmosphere is great. Kids can run around, dogs are welcome, and there are other venues for wedding receptions. The laid back atmosphere is inviting and the pizza is good. One of our party doesn't like salmon and tried the salmon pizza with the cream cheese base and loved it. Lots of diversity of pizzas that are all wood-fired. Crust is thin which I like. Pizzas tend to be quite soggy in the middle but the flavors are there. They also ship in amazing ice cream as a dessert option with a wonderfully higher-than-average fat content -- you don't get ice cream for the health benefits and the fat content is a difference maker. Wine and beer are options, along with an average variety of sodas. Atmosphere, pizzas, ice cream, and drinks are all worth the trip!

Kim R.

Yelp
The Stone Barn has been on my list of places to try for a few years and I am so happy I finally made it there this weekend. My husband and I took an early anniversary trip and stayed in Winona, MN. During the day, we drove up to Wabasha for their SeptOberfest and decided this was the perfect time to finally try the Stone Barn. First off, this place really is in the middle of nowhere, but the drive is beautiful. We got there at 6:00 pm on a cool September evening and this place was already packed and we had to wait a little over an hour for our pizza, so I would definitely recommend coming early (especially when it is warmer outside). They have a really neat area to sit outside the barn and they have a cute little antique shop you can peruse while you wait. They have plenty of pizza options to choose from and the pizzas are big! We had plenty of leftovers with one pizza for two. They also have a nice wine/beer list that is very reasonably priced. My only suggestions would be to have a nice bonfire going on cool nights, or invest in some heat lamps! Other than that, this place really is awesome!

Sprinkles M.

Yelp
Ate there back in June/July time frame. Absolutely loved this place. We ordered 3 pizzas for 6 of us that were there. We ordered the following: ALASKAN (Smoked salmon, vidalia onions, fresh dill and capers on a cream cheese base. Was a good pizza.) Can't say I've ever had smoked salmon on a pizza before but it was good. I am not a huge caper fan so had to pick those off but liked the pizza. MARGHERITA (Fresh basil, shredded parmesan and a blend of mozzarella and smoked provolone cheese on a crushed tomato base.) A classic pizza. Was great as well. THAI PEANUT (not currently on their website menu) All of us absolutely loved the Thai Peanut pizza. There were some in our party that thought we were crazy for ordering that pizza (obviously they've never had Thai Peanut anything) but they were fighting us Thai Peanut lovers for the last piece when it came down to it. Crust on pizza was a bit soggy but I think they might be going for authentic Napolentana style pizza in which you should have a soggy center. I don't think Midwesterners are used to that kind of pizza. Definitely will go back when I have the opportunity.

Scott B.

Yelp
After hearing all the great things about this place I finally got to experience it...Well, can't recommend it. Went there on a Sat eve, the place was beyond packed. Beautiful setting, great atmosphere, pizza was good NOT great. Char on the edges is one thing but to lose 10-15% of a pie to it is too much for this guy. Also thin crust is great but this crust didn't even support the toppings...Lastly and most concerning it took OVER 90 MIN to get our order! This place may have bitten off more than it can handle. I believe it has just ONE oven, clearly not enuf...Better get here early! No pizza is worth a 90+ min wait...

Veronica B.

Yelp
Can you say delicious? Fresh, natural ingredients make the best pizza! The crust is wafer thin and the baking in the wood oven makes the topping flavors shine. Loved the ambience! We went on a Sunday night and the place was packed. We drove an hour to get to this place and it is well worth the (beautiful) drive! This place is as good as it gets!

Rebecca R.

Yelp
If you are looking for an outdoor wedding venue or barn wedding, the Stone Barn is the place to go. The setting is beautiful, the barn is beautiful and is separate from the Pizza Barn and the public. They have a full venue and you can bring in your own catering. The staff was accommodating and it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended. Even though it rained most of the day and quit about an hour and 1/2 before the wedding , the staff wiped down all 250 chairs so the wedding could be outside. I would highly recommend this place for a wedding or the best Pizza in the Midwest!! Thank you to the Stone Barn owners and staff!! The Risler Family!

Kyle S.

Yelp
Atmosphere and customer service are great, due to unfortunate circumstances we didn't get to enjoy the pizza but will definitely be going back to try it out again. The staff was very accommodating for our situation, they have a great thing going for them.

August S.

Yelp
Amazing thin crust pizza. Both crust and toppings are top-quality. The setting couldn't be more idyllic, set amongst the rolling hills of Buffalo county, with a beautiful drive no matter what direction you're coming from. I've biked in from Eau Claire three times, and every time I've felt so rewarded to finally pedal hungrily into the grass and gravel parking lot for pizza. The stone barn foundations on which the place was built are left as they were, and it only adds to the uniqueness of this pizza place that happens to serve some of the best pizza in the Midwest.

Dean R.

Yelp
This place is pretty cool. It's a beautiful farm setting surrounded by wooded hills. There's an old barn, a building where they sell antiques, the original farmhouse and the building where they make and serve pizzas. My standard for traditional Neapolitan-style pizza is Punch Pizza in Minneapolis. It doesn't get any better than that, but I have to say that this is slightly different and just as good! This is a great place to go with friends, family and children and spend a couple of hours. We make it about once a summer and we've always had a great time. The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is because the wait is typically 1.5-2 hours for a pizza, and that's a little ridiculous. I think they need to put in another oven. Not only would their customers be happier, but they could sell twice as many pizzas in an evening.

Marilyn S.

Yelp
This place is magical. If you squint it could be Tuscany. What a surprise to find this lovely setting in the middle of Wisconsin farmland. My husband and I are always in search of the perfect thin, cracker like pizza crust with fresh ingredients. This place does not disappoint. It's about a 2 hour jaunt from the the twin cities. If you are staying or wandering around Pepin put this place on your list. Top it off with their ice cream!

Mark O.

Yelp
The Stone Barn is an old stone barn in a quiet valley a few miles into the hills from Nelson, WI. It has been turned into a great open air (though covered) eating place. I believe that it's only open weekends, but it makes amazing pizza and is definitely worth a visit. There is a building with the kitchen and a few tables, but 80% of the tables are outside in the barn. Down the center is a raised herb bed (which they use -- a cook came out and harvested cilantro while we were eating). The walls are the old stone barn's walls, and overhead is a trellis structure which provides some shade. It's a very casual atmosphere. The pizza is the thinnest crust I've ever had and was fantastic. *Really* good. They serve beer and wine and soda, and have ice cream. (They do have some non-pizza entrees, but why bother?) The only downside (other than it not being near where I live) is that it's only open those three days and on a very hot day, it can be uncomfortable.

C H.

Yelp
Way to ruin my first pizza on the farm experience. Waited two hours for a half baked pizza. My pizza didn't look like those on the site. The center was raw. Pizza lacked flavor!!!! After waiting twenty minutes in line to pay, the cashier returned our concerns with a bragging gloat about how much business they do. Thanks for the insult. The setting is beautiful but the pizza, staff and logistical nightmare they call a business need help. Overpriced also.

Bob F.

Yelp
The Stone Barn is in a beautiful open air setting in the rolling hills of Nelson. You dine by a lush herb garden that the owenrs grow themselves and use on their pizzas. There is a great selection of wood fired pizzas with my personal favorite being theThai peanut along with the Alaskan salmon. Many families were there and there is great space for the kids to play while waiting for your food. Was also fun to see people stop by on their horses and even a helicopter once. There is an antique store there as well. I've never been disappointed on my many trips to the Stone Barn.

Yelp
OMG!!! The best place ever.... This place is amazing in so many ways- first the views and scenery is fantastic- they have a Wedding Barn!! And it's so perfect- with the rustic charm and the real chandeliers its like that perfect blend for a cool trendy wedding- if I wasn't already married, I would book it now... The pizza is so incredible- who would think you can get a Greek lamb pizza, or a smoked salmon pizza with fresh grown ingredients an hour south of the twin cities!! What was also cool is that kids can be kids and run around and play... Found a great gift for my mom in the antique store that's made from an old barn that was part of the original buildings on this farm- very cool history... Oh but I'm gushing....

Yelp
When we arrived at 4:50, a small line had already formed for the 5:00 opening. The rope across the drive was opened promptly at 5:00, everyone parked, and we made our way to the barn. The setting was enchanting, the wine was poured generously, and the pizza was good (but not amazing). The toppings were great but a quarter of the crust was overly done. Nevertheless, my group of three enjoyed sitting next to herb garden, eating our pizza, and taking in the ambiance.

Yelp
The food is good, the workers are friendly and the customers are having a good time. And, you may never find such a beautiful setting to sit and relax. This was such a special place to find. We figured it to be about 100 miles from our driveway to the Stone Barn and well worth it; can't wait to get there again.

Yelp
The place is a tourist trap waited 2 hours for a pizza. The pizza is not good kind of a gimmick. Not worth the drive. Like most places once you experience it and the food is not good you will not be back. I guess when you don't have a pizza place within 50 miles of you I guess you are stuck.

Yelp
One of the best outdoor dining experiences of my life. Great friends, booze, and even better pizza.
