We ordered a gender reveal cake for our three-year-old’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! The cake was not only beautifully made but also incredibly delicious, everyone loved it. The owners were extremely friendly, accommodating, and made the whole experience feel personal and special. Wonderful customer service from start to finish. Highly recommend this bakery!

The Sweet Life Bakeshop is a takeaway for cupcakes🧁puddings and other sweets, I tried the strawberry cupcake and it was good, also the puddings with peach which was delivered and the salted banana which was so so, it was super sweet for me. Staff was very polite and overall recommend it!

I regret not sharing this when I lived in the city (I moved away back in 2020). And I don’t know how many times I personally enjoyed a spoonful, a cup and the personal pleasure of sharing these with clients I sold too. It was always a joy to spend time with the staff on a visit as they accommodated me with last minute requests effortlessly. Boy do I miss this place. Please go and have a cup of any flavor of the banana pudding. You will enjoy it!

This is my favorite bakery! It's not even close! My fiance and I ordered two gender reveal cakes for our expected twins and Sweet Life Bakery did a phenomenal job! I started going to this bakery ever since they started at their small shop on 22nd Street. I'm not surprised at all that they're still in business. Not only are their desserts the best, they are great people as well! Do yourself a favor and treat your self to their banana puddings!

Bought my wife's birthday cake here in February. The cake came out delicious & they were able to decorate the cake with the toppers I bought. Best of all, my sister in law came to celebrate her sister's birthday love this place as well. Place is a 10/10 ⭐✨

EXCELLENT! Everything about this experience was amazing. The personnel were super pleasant, kind, considerate. Went in for spontaneous cupcakes for my 2 year olds birthday. We purchased a mini sweet potato pie, salted caramel banana pudding & 4 cupcakes (& they gave us a candle & little topper for her cupcake). Flavors were right (my husband is picky about his sweets)! Just all around a lovely experience after a day at the Zoo.

Great first experience when I ordered vegan cupcakes for a family birthday. The counter person was friendly and very helpful. She recommended a variety of popular flavors like chocolate, red velvet and raspberry. An unusual flavor, sweet potato, tasted like carrot cake and was the favorite at our party. Their prices are reasonable and they provided a sturdy carrying container for the treats. I will be back to try their famous banana pudding. Note that they only open at 11. They do stay open later than other bakeries.

Deserts. Small cakes. Cupcakes. So on. Wow How delicious can 1 place be. The pineapple upside down cake is the best. I wouldn't normally have fruit with my desert/cake but I'll go there just for this and it's not close The owners are also amazing

Absolutely love their banana pudding (plus they have many flavors to choose from)! They also have banana pudding "flights" including smaller sizes of many flavors, cupcakes, and more. The staff is so friendly and it's a great place to stop in when you need a sweet pickmeup!

The banana pudding and peach cobbler puddings were both delicious. Interior is small with a few seats to dine in. The girl at the counter was very friendly, and service was fast on a Saturday afternoon.

I am unsure of the pudding sizes but each cup felt fulfilling. I also had to pay 3.99+ and not the 15 stated in one of the reviews for TooGoodToGo. Some more variety would've been nice but it seems their banana pudding is the bomb for most people and I am no exception to that. Staff is friendly and pick up was quick .I only saw one person working here. So maybe she owns the place. I haven't been able to try their cupcakes but it seems mixed reviews. The day I went was all pudding choices and I didn't see any cupcakes. Presentation of environment is pleasant and aesthetically pleasing. The name of the shop makes me think of Frank Ocean's Sweet Life.

I ordered a surprise bag on Too Good To Go and we got two banana puddings that were so good! They told us it was a snickers inspired pudding and a salted caramel pudding. Both were super sweet and filling - the portion was very large. It's counter service in a small shop but the staff were friendly and helpful! You certainly could share one pudding cup between two people if you can agree on a flavor.

I literally stumbled here, literally. Was walking from a store and so happen to see a sign outside and I am a dessert freak black-owned, lady was super nice! Cash or card accepted. I tried the banana pudding, strawberry banana pudding, sweet potato pie and pecan sweet potato pie. Price was great imo for what you're getting. So much love put into everything served. Will be retuning! Thank you

A treat to buy a bag of four different cupcakes, all fresh with a dollop of lovely icing on top. Each person got their favorite flavor -- red velvet, vanilla, cookie batter and chocolate. Very welcoming aroma that will tempt a return trip.

I was in town visiting and my friends and I did a day trip to Philly. After have a great lunch I needed to find a place perfect for desserts. I came across The Sweet Life Bakeshop. They certainly lived up to their hype via other reviews. The chocolate cake used for the cupcake was fantastic. I prefer a little more icing than what I had. But, that's preference. My favorite item was the banana pudding! It had the perfect texture! I understand all the rave about it. Service was wonderful and delivered with a smile!

So good! My cousins and I drove from DC to Atlantic City to celebrate a birthday in May. Otw up we stopped in Philly for some food and a good bakeshop. I got the strawberry banana pudding, and the strawberry and confetti cupcakes. The cupcakes were moist and just perfect. The banana pudding... DELICIOUS! I made it my mission to get my pudding this weekend going back to Jersey but they were closed for summer break. I was so upset but I will definitely be back! If you're ever in the area and looking for some good dessert, sweet life is the place to go! From DC with love!

What the heck!!!!!! We were just randomly walking by and a patron was leaving this store claiming to was the best ever. We had no idea the shop was there or what it had but HOLY MOLY it is now our favorite!!!!!!!!! For $5 you can get a delicious banana pudding treat that you will love. We love the banana strawberry pudding. Oh my gosh it is just so good. Thank you random person leaving the store claiming it was the best! You were right!

Saw different flavors of banana pudding as I walked by this place and definitely had to try. They ran out of original sadly but I tried the peanut butter banana pudding and had a bite of the peach banana pudding. Both were delicious! Instead of nila wafers they used peanut butter cookies in the banana pudding. The pudding itself isn't overly sweet like some places, the peanut butter cookies was where all the sweetness came from. The peaches in the peach banana pudding gave it a nice tart balance of flavor which my boyfriend absolutely loved. Their cupcakes also looked very good. Price was fair, will definitely be back again if I'm in the area!

Two words! "Banana Pudding " all I can say is wow!. Had the chance to get the strawberry banana pudding and I must say it is the best I have ever had. Perfect texture, sweetness and combination of cookies and fruits. I bought a vegan cupcake and it was moist and delicious. Great service as well.

I was bummed out that by the time I got there, a few of their pudding flavors were sold out. I am not a pudding fan but I thought the flavor and texture was delicious. However, my partner wasn't to thrilled with his flavor. The pudding seemed very sweet and thick, not how I expected it to be. There was cookie crumbs all throughout it, which made it thicker. I wasn't impressed by the cupcakes or couple of other items they had. One star less for not having more options.

All around amazing little bakery on South St. Decent selection of tasty treats to choose from and the prices are fair for quality. Was able to try some of the cookies and cupcakes, but will be back to try more. They also have pudding cups and cake slices which looked great. The staff here are great and happy to help you choose or try exactly what you want! Cute little shop and worth stopping in for desserts.

I only purchased one item, the strawberry banana pudding. It had good taste and was very smooth. I would have preferred to of had some more larger pieces of banana and nilla wafers. But overall definitely seemed to be a place to visit again if ever in the Philadelphia area

I have been wanting to try out this bakery for the longest time and I stopped in after work today! I grabbed their original banana pudding and it was delicious. Plus, the ladies working there were very sweet! It was very cute and welcoming inside, highly recommend checking it out if you want a sweet treat walking along South Street!

I am not a big fan of banana pudding but was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the strawberry banana pudding was! It was the right amount of sweetness and I liked how they sandwich the strawberry jam between the pudding layer. The staffs were so friendly and eager to explain their items. There are two sizes you can pick from, a small and large. We got the small and it was enough to share between 4 people. If you want to sample all the flavors you can also purchase the "mini" sized packs. ($18). It comes will all the flavors in a much smaller individual sizes. Next time I have people over visiting or throwing a get together - definitely gonna need to come and pick up a banana pudding variety pack!

I've had a taste for an "official" banana pudding for some time. I did a quick Yelp & Google search which took me to South Street at The Sweet Life Bakeshop. First of all, the staff in the store was super sweet. A customer came in after me and seemed to know what he wanted; so I told him he can go ahead of me. He picked so many goodies! In my head, I'm like, "OH YEAH...this is going to be GOOD"! I ordered the mouthwatering, sweet, moist, God blessed the hands of the baker salted caramel cupcake. For a not so big but cute beautiful cupcake -- I did not want it to end. The cupcake was soooo DELICIOUS! Mmmmmmm! Secondly, I ordered the large (had to force myself to stop eating all of it) sweet, tasty, every bite makes you ponder about the beauty of life salted caramel banana pudding. OMG! As you keep putting the spoon further down the pudding -- there's a special treat for you; filled with bliss! I'm definitely going back!

You have to try cakes here! Pleasant place with good portions of delicious cakes. We almost couldn't finish the portions, and I kind of feared for my health (hahaha), but it was really a nice experience. The service was excellent and we felt really welcomed.

I got a mini pack bc I didn't know which flavor I wanted! So far, I've had the original and it was phenomenal. Highly recommend and I'll be back to review the other flavors!

The lovely and very empathetic owner of The Sweet Life created a wonderful 100th birthday cake for my mother-in-law. It was the highlight of our celebration and was beautifully-decorated and tasted delicious.

We had to place an order that was pretty sizable with a quick turnaround, and this shop was recommended. It was a great experience - friendly and caring service, cute shop, excellent prices, and delicious cupcakes and banana pudding. The mini banana pudding cups were a huge hit at our event, and I'm southern and snobby about such things. We would definitely order again and recommend that others do too!

Attention: everyone please come and taste the pudding! Not into bananas? That's okay because they have a banana-less flavor too! Ugh such a tasty dessert and it tastes nice and homemade- because it is. I really went in to pick up mini cupcakes for a party but I had to try miss pudding. This is a great local establishment to pick up desserts for a small event or just because. The small size pudding is the perfect amount for when you want "something sweet" and it's large enough to share between two after dinner or something. They also have a large size if you're like me and would only split a small size if you were on a diet or just came from Ralph's or somewhere.

Stumbled upon this place on accident but it's so worth! They have puddings, cupcakes, and other sorts of desserts. They're decently priced too, for example $4 for a small pudding and $8 for a large pudding. I got the peach cobbler pudding. There's whipped cream, a peach flavored crisp, and cinnamon(?) on top. Underneath the vanilla pudding, there's actual peach cobbler. It was all so good and not too sweet at all. It's definitely a unique pudding for combination that makes this place so worth and good. The staff are also really nice and gave us recommendations. Have to try this place out if you've never had pudding desserts before!

I was looking for a good banana pudding place in Philly since it is my personal guilty pleasure and THIS IS THE SPOT!! I had the sampler which is a great price for trying all the flavors, and all the flavors we got were SPOT ON. Banana Pudding: 5/5 Delicious, iconic, classic. Perfectly creamy and banana-y. Nice smooth texture, not too thin and not too thick, and no weird bubbly textures. All cups come with a bread/cake/vanilla wafer(?) Inside that adds nice texture to the dessert as well. Banana Strawberry Pudding: 5/5 The strawberries add slight tartness and brightness that cuts through the very sweet banana pudding base. A match made in heaven. Banana Salted Caramel: 5/5 I LOVE toffee / salted caramel things and this just hits all the right spots. It is super sweet though so I would proceed with caution if you're over sensitive to sweets. But the dark type sweetness goes so well with this pudding. No Nana - 4.5/5 Honestly tasted pretty similar to the original banana pudding, I couldn't tell MUCH of a difference because all puddings were very sweet, but its still super good. Like the perfect vanilla pudding. Magic Pudding - 5/5 Perfect for our texture kings and queens. This flavor has chocolate chips and peanuts so you get a nice crunch with this one. The peanuts add some savory-ness and the chocolates add some nice creamy, slightly dark notes. Peaches & Cream - 5/5 The peaches are slightly tart and sweet. Not as tart as the strawberry one but still good. And you get flavors of cinnamon and spice in it which I love. Tastes like a sweet summer farm. It also came topped with a snickerdoodle cookie which is just *chefs kiss* OVERALL: I personally would like these puddings to be slightly less sweet, but these banana puddings are superb. One bite and Im pretty overwhelmed with the sweetness, but the textures from the slightly softened wafers kick in creating an addictive mouthfeel and I want to eat more. I also love the variety of flavors in the sampler, as they all brought something different to the table and were very well thought out. Ive had banana pudding at other shops where their different flavors are too chaotic or just don't taste good, so only their originals are good, but here, ALL the flavors I tried were spot on. Im definitely coming back here again!

I honestly could eat this everyday if I didn't gain weight with a sip of water. Anyway, i was coming back to update my review with my recent try of their sweet potato pie and omg so good! Definitely have to try this!

My friend and I randomly stumbled on Sweet Life Bakeshop while walking on South St. Two words: freaking bomb! This is a dessert spot you don't want to miss if you're in the area. We got the mini cupcakes sampler and mini banana/non-banana puddings 6-pack sampler. Basically we tried everything at the store except for their pineapple upside down cake. The puddings were fantastic! I tried the peach cobbler pudding and one with chocolate and peanuts. The custard puddings were rich, creamy and smooth. I got to try the vanilla and salted caramel mini cupcakes, which were very good. The crumb part of the cupcakes were dense and moist. Pro tip: leave the cupcakes out for a bit so that the buttercream can melt. Lastly, customer service was great. The server was friendly and had a great attitude.

Who doesn't live desserts? This place had limited menu options but everything looked so fresh and delicious. Loved it! Note: No seating whatsoever. Strictly a takeout place. Also, furry friends not allowed inside. So one of us had to wait outside with our pup. We took the banana pudding sampler and cupcake sampler. Had 2 cupcakes. More like mini cupcakes. Tasted nice though. Banana pudding was absolutely delicious and our favorite. Tried 2 so far and loved both of it. Very fresh, creamy and just melted in the mouth. They were so fresh, moist and perfectly sweet. Recommend the place if you're on South street.

I found this place on Yelp since I live nearby and have been meaning to stop by for a few months now! I've never had banana pudding before in my life, but decided to give it a try with a small salted caramel version ($4). This is creamy banana pudding layered with Nilla wafers, salted caramel sauce, and banana slices. It's super sweet and rich, so next time I might try a version with just bananas and wafers. I ate half yesterday and saved the rest for today, when the wafers had softened but it was still just as delicious! Can't wait to come back here and try a different flavor.

The best bakery in Philadelphia! The cupcakes, pudding, and cake are to die for and hands down the nicest people in the world. Can't imagine going anywhere else - best experience I've ever had!

Easily my favorite bakery in the city. I'm kind of a cupcake fiend and the Bakeshop's cupcakes are unlike any I've had before. I make an effort to get there every couple of weeks for my sweet fix. The pies are awesome too. I took some back to my family down south, who are very critical of sweet potato pies, and they LOVED them. Now it's a tradition every time I visit home to stop by the Bakeshop to get desserts for my family. Love the variety of cupcake options. I haven't tried the puddings bc I'm not a fan in general but people rave about them. Always good customer service when I visit.

As I was walking by the mini cupcakes were eye-popping so I had to stop in. I purchased the strawberry banana pudding and small red velvet cake and both were excellent! Very nice lady at the counter as well.

Incredible bread pudding. $4 small $8 large. I got the small strawberry banana and it was perfect amount of dessert. They don't have anything on displays for some reason but they also have cupcakes that looked really good!

I am all for supporting black businesses and that's one of the main reasons why I picked them for my 50th birthday cake. I asked for rainbow sprinkles around the sides and on the top of my cake with red writing. The writing is burgundy or brown and there were no sprinkles on the cake. When I asked what happened to the sprinkles. I was told the cake decorator said she didn't think someone turning 50 wouldn't want rainbow sprinkles on the cake. But that's what I asked for. If I'm paying $66 for a cake I should get everything I asked for. This is my favorite bakery and they definitely put a sour taste in my mouth. They tried to remedy it by putting rainbow balls on the top. But it still wasn't what I wanted. I only turn 50 once and I'm pissed that I didn't get what I asked for.

We ordered a cake for my 70th birthday from the Sweet Life, asking for something with a cupcake's dose of vanilla buttercream. Megan baked a tall, three-layer vanilla cake full of buttercream and drizzled with caramel. It tasted as good as it looked. This is an amazing bakery!

First time in the area and I stumbled across this sweet gem! Let me tell you guys: this was a great and delicious stumble! Sweet Life on South St in Philly just might have the best sweet treats in the area! After taking one bite of the banana pudding, I immediately went back into the establishment, gave them that confused face, and followed with "I need another order because this pudding is damm good!" I had ordered the regular banana pudding and a peach cobbler to go. After trying the original, I went back in to order the strawberry and banana pudding. The taste - phenomenal. Sweet, smooth, cookies still have a crunch, served in a classy, clean way. Great service, crisp interior. Did I mention the place is Black Owned? 10/10 across the board. Excited to try the other desserts at Sweet Life!

While out on my lunch break, I walked past this bakery and immediately got a whiff of something so sweet. I had to double back, I went inside and asked the young lady, "What is that smell?" She informed me that it was their upside-down pineapple cake. I decided to partake in this sweetness. I decided to eat the cake, once I got back to work. O-M-G, it just melts in your mouth. It wasn't too sweet, the flavors were there, and it was nice and warm!! Today is Monday, and they're closed. Wednesday, I will be going back! Yummy in my tummy!!

Bomb banana pudding. We also had their mini cupcakes and they were a huge hit at the birthday party, so much that we didn't even get a chance to have one ourselves because they were gone so fast!

I had some of their cupcakes, not my favorite cupcake as the cake part is quite heavy and condensed so personally not a fan, but i'm sure others like it. And the banana cream pudding i tried out and it's ok too. I guess i'm not a fan of banana cream pudding personally

Got mini cupcakes from here for 2 different parties and everyone, kids & adults, loved them. They were moist, had great flavor, and the frosting wasn't overwhelmingly sweet like some places. The mini size is the perfect 2 bites and there variety box has something for everyone. Seriously all the flavors were delicious but the strawberry was the favorite in my home. The owner and girl at the counter are so sweet (no pun intended) and happy to answer my questions about allergens. And as many have already said, their pudding is really good. Def coming here any time I need desserts!

Happened to be in the area picking up pizza for my honey. Needed something sweet. Looked up on yelp and i see banana pudding. Haven't had it in years and have definitely been wanting a home made one especially not from Miami. The reviews were awesome. I went for the original small bananapudding and a vegan pb&j cupcake im saving for later. Pudding was so good the idea was to eat half and save the other half for later. Nope. Didn't happen. Perfect amount of Pudding, banana slices and wafers. It even have its own layer. Delicious delicious delicious and amazing customer service! Will update once i try the cupcake!

Fantastic banana pudding. Bought a tray for Christmas dinner last year and it cost too much and the tray wasn't even that big! Felt like I had been ripped off a bit because it only fed like 6 hungry adults and a few kids. I tried other places in the meantime but I still think Sweet Life is the best. Hope they can drop their tray prices this year!!

I love love love this Bakeshop! They have some of the besttttt cupcakes I've ever had. I don't generally like frosting but even their frosting is delicious to me. And all the other reviews are right when they say they have some of the best banana pudding in town. The service is always quick and I've never had a bad experience.

The cupcakes were really cold and stiff when we tried them. The creativity of the baked goods are great but the flavors of cupcakes we got were not to my liking. Wish the cupcake was moist and the frosting was less stiff.

After seeing pictures of the sweet treats here, I knew I had to try them. I picked up three flavors of cupcakes: confetti, vanilla bean, and chocolate raspberry. They were all delicious. I especially liked the milk chocolate frosting on the confetti cupcakes and the surprise burst of raspberry in the middle of the chocolate cupcake. Now I want to go back to try the puddings.

Great service , fair pricing and the cupcakes were delicious. Got these for a party and several people asked where I got them from. Will be back often.

Sweet Life is my favorite bakery in Philadelphia. The cakes are delicious and normally those who are not icing fans LOVE SLB's. There is a wide variety of cupcakes to choose from. A core set of options along with a few specials and vegan options. However the true gems are the banana pudding options. They have normal, no banana, magic sundae, strawberry, and strawberry banana (I'm sure I am forgetting a few). Each one is delicious. Also if you are not sure what you want there are combination containers for both cupcakes (in mini form) for about $15 and a banana pudding sampler for $18. The only reason I docked one star is for all the plastic packaging that is used. Each cupcake comes packed in a plastic container. I understand the need of preventing a cupcake from being smashed however maybe the customer could decided if they want a bag or container.
