The Swill Inn

Fun little bar. We got a beer and a cocktail. Sadly the cocktail was a bit too tart (too much lime juice not enough sugar?) And the kitchen was closed. But the bartender was super friendly and we still had a nice time.

Relaxed bar with friendly staff. They have multiple specials like Oyster Happy Hour and Friday Fish Fry (Fridays) and Smoked Wings for 75 cents (on Weekdays from 4pm-6pm). Cocktails and burgers are very good, wings are just okay. Definitely your go-to neighborhood bar.

Most of the cocktails were fantastic. The bartender was very skilled and charismatic. They serve quality food all night long, and have a television. A cool interior with good music. There is no table service and they could work on customer service a little better. A great bar overall.

I picked up at beginning of July. I ordered the Mac & cheese and burger. I have been really excited to try the burger because I’ve heard great things. The burger was mediocre at best. The sauce was overpowering and the toppings were minimal. The meat was really well seasoned. It was average compared to other Chicago restaurants with this type of burger. (Delta, Half Sour, etc...) The Mac and cheese was delicious but the portion was more than small for the price. I paid right around $30 for the burger and Mac. I love small businesses and wish I could give a better review.

Go visit Liz! She's a fun bartender with a great vibe! The ambiance is really great and I like the secret door. The old mirror behind the bar has a bit of spooky presence - in a good way. I look forward to trying their menu.

The Swill Inn is everything I want in a small cocktail bar. Its comfortable, not loud or overcrowded, its not surrounded by a bunch of other bars, it has great prices and an interesting theme. I have come here on three occasions now and have had good service and good drinks every time. You can not beat $9 cocktails in the city and it is not far from my apartment. Great for a drink on a Friday evening!
