"The Sylvester is a great little cocktail bar in Midtown with a decor that feels very South Florida thrift store. It can be a relatively chill spot during Happy Hour and on weekdays, but on the weekends they have a DJ spinning and things get more energetic. "One step into the Sylvester and you’ll feel like you’re in your grandmother’s Florida sunroom — except it’s dimly lit and there’s a large disco ball twinkling in the middle of the ceiling. With colorful vintage wallpaper, tropical touches, and repurposed antique furniture (much of it from the parents of owner Ben Potts), it’s easy to grab a drink at the bar and cozy up with your crew. The cocktail menu pays homage to old and new Miami with bestsellers like the Vaxxxed & Waxxxed, made with Don Julio Blanco, Vida mezcal, Chinola passion fruit, and habanero bitters; and the Albino Gator, which is clarified and carbonated and made with Ilegal Joven, watermelon, cilantro, mint, and jalapeño." - Amber Love Bond
