"In his set menu (dubbed "Das Tor zur Welt" – "Gateway to the World"), Kevin Fehling makes use of a wide variety of ingredients – Asian, Middle Eastern and South American – and also likes to combine these, crossover style, with classic French-based cuisine. An array of wonderfully complementary flavours turn creations such as "The Sea – poached oyster, hamachi, sea urchin & horseradish" or "Ballotine of quail, aubergine, kumquat, argan oil cream & saffron broth" into characteristic dishes that shine in terms of the quality of the produce, precision, and depth of flavour. In the stylish, relaxed atmosphere at the long and winding table after which the restaurant is named, you can see the action unfold in the kitchen – everything runs like a well-oiled machine or an orchestra! Restaurant manager David Eitel, part of the charming, attentive service team, who interact with guests in a laid-back manner, should also be mentioned." - Michelin Inspector

3 Best Day Trips from Berlin to Hamburg, Leipzig, and Potsdam | Condé Nast Traveler

"Industrial details and concrete walls aren't quite what you’d expect from a pricey three-Michelin-star restaurant. But then you see The Table Kevin Fehling's snake-like table, which seats just 20, with the open kitchen behind it, and you know you’re in for a different take on haute cuisine. Fehling, the youngest chef in Germany to receive three Michelin stars, offers playful takes on, well, everything, from salmon and glazed eel with rice cream, kimchee, and green mango, to lobster with lardo, yuzu, and Champagne foam." - Liz Humphreys

True to its motto “Gate to the World,” each dish naturally evoked the spirit of different nations, allowing me to truly feel how the world is interconnected—how cultures communicate, blend, and live together through food. From the refined courses to the gracefully curved communal table and the completely open kitchen, every element seemed to tell a unified story. The ability to witness the chefs’ intense focus and delicate craftsmanship without any barriers felt like a rare and refreshing gift. Every course offered elegance in flavor, texture, and presentation—each dish was a stunning display of subtlety and sophistication. It was the best Michelin experience I’ve had so far — truly a joyful and memorable time.

Dining at The Table was an exceptional experience, surpassing all my expectations. The ambiance effortlessly blended elegance and comfort, setting the perfect stage for an unforgettable meal. Every dish was a masterpiece. The appetizers offered a perfect harmony of flavors, while the main course was a testament to the chef’s skill and creativity. Service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff ensuring every detail was perfect. In short, The Table delivers an unparalleled dining experience. It was the best meal I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to return.

This review dates back to last year. I have been hesitant to post because I was a bit disappointed and felt it may have been just a bad day. Yet, can a 3 star Michelin restaurant afford a bad day? I think not. First things first, the food was very good, this is undeniable. For me the wow effect was missing, but the dishes were creative and well executed. Flavours and preparations from different influences. Still, I would not rate it higher than most 3 stars I have been to, or even some 2 stars (in my personal opinion, the Lakeside in Hamburg is far better). Service was very good and friendly. With a notable exception, the Sommelier. He seemed genuinely disappointed or disinterested when we selected our own bottle against the pairing. He also did not seem to know much about the wine (Priorat), which he admitted. This is a first for me. I am fully aware that he had received awards, but none of those qualities were shining on that day. Besides, he put his full attention to a group of four people, largely ignoring not only us but all others parties too. The chef was not present on that night. It can happen, but disappointing nonetheless. This is a harsh review, and I did not rate it any lower because of the exceptional dedication of the kitchen and service staff, besides aforementioned exceptions. Perhaps it was a bad day, but I would not go back.

What an divine dining experience: unrivalled food quality, Understatement of interior design; the whole service extremely personal; a great team and an amazing Chief who is humble and paying attention to details! Mr. Fehling welcomed every guest at the entrance (no matter when they arrive), what a gesture! I am more than impressed. The cooking process is very clean and structured. Love the concept! Love the food! Love the people! "The Table" rocks!

Wow! This was an absolutely amazing experience. Another level of culinary art at this 3 star Michelin restaurant. The interior of the restaurant with a long curved table and view of the open kitchen really impressed me. The various chefs were producing master pieces in near silence, everyone knowing exactly what they had to do and when, a well orchestrated team. Then came the beautifully arranged dishes. Each with a unique and wonderful taste. The picture will tell the tale.

What an institution... Creative cooking on a level that is unreached here in Hamburg with some amazing flavors on the plate. We had a really great time here. But comparing it to other high end 3star restaurants I might say there is some room to improve. For instance it is quite common to get a little something - an amuse-bouche for the start or end that is served besides the menu you choose. Unfortunately not here. You will just get what you ordered. Which is ok, but I am spoiled from other places. So I am complaining on a high level here. Most of the dishes were great but we also had some that weren’t so memorable.

Modern Northern European experience, it might be seen as cold, but it’s exactly the type of experience I was expecting, this is not a southern Italian trattoria. Seated on bar stools facing the open kitchen the meal at The Table goes smoothly, and it’s a journey throughout the whole world, with ingredients and preparation that variates differently. The Nordic touch is present also in the food, many plates are served cold and one plate is dedicated at the north see. The wine pairing was ideal, mostly white wines and light bodied giving a nice contrast with meal. Overall a satisfying experience!

Kevin Fehling and the team mastered the art of creating marvellous combinations of different tastes, textures, temperatures and colors. The food wonderland is accompanied by a selection of the finest wines from all around the world. We have waited for almost a year to receive a spot at the restaurant, but it was well worth the wait. This is definitely the best fine-dining place we have been to in Hamburg. Thank you very much.
