"If the historical marker out front didn’t give it away, The Tauraus is the oldest bar in the City of Miami. The building has been standing since 1926, when it was just a little cottage. It was left for dead and resurrected several times. These days, it’s run by the Ariete team, which means they’ve got better drink options than harvey wallbangers and brandy alexanders. But it hasn’t abandoned its casual roots. In fact, if you’re ever craving the Grove’s notorious Moose Juice (there’s no time to explain), they’ve got a 2.0 version on the menu. Pair it with an excellent cheesesteak from Masa Craft, a pop-up that’s running the kitchen." - virginia otazo
"This historic bar is a great place to drink in Coconut Grove. There’s some comfortable outdoor seating for nice days and inside you can sip a bunch of different whiskeys in walls that look like they’ve been here since a century (which they have). It was left for dead and resurrected several times. These days, it’s run by the Ariete team, which means they’ve got better drink options than harvey wallbangers and brandy alexanders. "Coconut Grove’s Taurus is part sit-down restaurant and part bar. It can also be a little of both, if that’s the vibe you’re looking for. But whether you’re coming here just for drinks or a burger - you’ll be dry. Their patio seating is covered, and there’s more covered seating in the back, so don’t panic if all the front patio tables are taken." - ryan pfeffer
"Before dinner at: Ariete, Tigertail & Mary, Atchana’s Homegrown Thai Taurus is the oldest bar in Coconut Grove, but still one of our favorite places to drink in the neighborhood. They happen to be directly next door to two great restaurants, Ariete and Nave, but it’s really easy to walk around in the Grove, so your dinner options are plentiful. Of course, if you do get hungry, Taurus’ bar food game - featuring pizza, wings, and a frita - is also incredibly strong since they share a kitchen with Ariete." - ryan pfeffer
"Folks here take their trivia seriously, using an actual buzzer for each answer. When hunger strikes, visitors have the bonus of being next to — and under the umbrella of — a one-star Michelin restaurant (Ariete), which means the bar bites are an experience unto themselves. Trivia Night is on Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m." - Alona Martinez
