"The Tavern has a rich history that you can read all about on the internet or probably in a book somewhere, but it’s best represented by the “Air Conditioning” sign that’s been proudly on display since the 1930s when cold air in the summer months was still a novelty. "AUSTIN The Tavern in Austin has been around for over a century, and in that time it’s functioned as a grocery store, a casino, a brothel, and, of course, a pub. It’s said to be haunted by a ghost named Emily who likes to tap, pinch, or otherwise prank guests upstairs.
