I know this shop just opened up but everything is awesome. The space is very small - but they utilize the 550 sq feet very well, and manage to fit a lot of things in the space. They have fruits, vegetables, drinks (including coffee and kombucha) and some refrigerated products as well. They also have some awesome local stuff, including sweet green hot sauce and hippie crack from Baked and Wired. The products are more expensive than what you’d get at Shoppers or Safeway, but it’s on par with Whole Foods in price in my opinion. Beyond that, the staff were super friendly and more than happy to answer my questions. I’ll definitely be back, I just wish I had asked for the staffs names so I can say hello next time!

The Tavern used to be a famous restaurant in DC until sweetgreen, a local fast casual salad chain, opened up its flagship location here on the west end of M Street NW in Georgetown. Recently, they reopened it (with the help of friends) to serve as a community market selling local produce and goods. However, the most important thing is that in the back corner of the shop they sell their famous fro yo with the best local toppings! It's also a beautiful space inside and out making it great for photographing!

A nice little farmers market style store. Produce is pretty local and very inexpensive. There is also a student discount. My only complaint is that they are cashless, which is discriminatory against the unbanked and poor in the area. The hours are also nonsensical.

This is a super cute store with a nice selection of artisanal goodies. I stopped in for the free cup of soup for furloughed workers. The soup was great and the staff is friendly. I’ll be back once we are paid again.

Yelp
Froyo is pretty good. I appreciate that it's not sweet, although I did top it with blueberry honey for that extra bit of sugar. In hindsight I'm kicking myself for not getting the granola, but there's always next time! Cute assortment of sauces and dressings, etc that I'm planning to stop back in and check out when I'm not in a hurry.

Yelp
The Tavern is part of the Sweetgreen family. It's in a nice little shop of 33rd M Street in Georgetown. Basically the concept is to bring the community closer to vendors and producers. Additionally, they also have soft serve ice cream which was really good. I'm told they will soon start serving salad dishes that Sweetgreen is known for. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The building itself is well maintained. My wife and I throughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Sweetgreen's new mini fresh market concept is a nice addition to the M Street scene. While extremely small, The Tavern is a extremely well curated, even spacious store carefully stocked with local produce, dairy, dry goods, flowers, and Sweetgreen merchandise. The only ready to eat item this store has is their Sweetflow frozen yogurt which is very tasty and a small array of bottled beverages. The staff are bright and cheerful. I'm interested to see how this place does.

Yelp
The original Sweetgreen location has been transformed into a mini-market for local farmers and artisanal ingredients. They feature some produce that comes from farms that may not be big enough to bring to their Sweetgreen locations which I think is fantastic. The produce is (as expected) quite expensive but thats what you pay to support local farms and eat organic/fresh. Added bonus is that they serve Sweetflow, the frozen yogurt that they use to serve at this location many moons ago. I'm so excited to have a good spot for frozen yogurt back on M St!! Congratulations for reopening this legendary location!

Yelp
The store was cute, but I was extremely disappointed in the frozen yogurt. It was pretty good (one flavor, kind of lemony vanilla), but extremely small for $5. The woman poured the smallest amount, without even filling in the middle (see picture). The person in front of me paid for blueberries for topping and he only got 3 blueberries. If you're looking for frozen yogurt or a cold dessert in the area, I would advise going elsewhere.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this little market! It had a bunch of cool items and things you wouldn't find at your normal whole foods or trader joes. They have local items and ingredients which is a plus. In addition they have a frozen yogurt soft serve you can order and add your own toppings too. It was super crisp and refreshing - perfect for summer months. I added date syrup to mine and the combination was delicious. The African American lady working was also lovely. She was super helpful in answering all our questions. Will definitely be returning in the summer!

Yelp
I used to love this market. It is in the perfect location for me to pick up small grocery items after I finish my runs. However, I bought two $8 pints of Cocojune yogurt from them on Friday 3/13 and Sunday 3/15 and opened both today to find that they're rancid. One pint was completely rock solid and had a horrible smell. The other pint was completely liquid, almost like water. I was horrified not only to see the vile nature of both yogurts, but also that I was sold two spoiled pints that each have expiration dates of 3/23/2020. I blame Sweetgreen Tavern for holding this as inventory on their shelves for too long, potentially in not enough of a refrigerated section. I picked up the same pint of Cocojune from MOM's Organic Market yesterday 3/16 and opened it today to find it perfectly fresh. It was being held in a full refrigerated section of MOM's and had a longer expiration date of early April. Sweetgreen Tavern should be more cognizant of their inventory and ensure they aren't screwing over their customers with expired products. I will not be returning to purchase food from here.
