"I’ve found The Ten Bells’ 16-year run on the Lower East Side remarkable for its commitment to natural wine and a lively, industry-filled crowd; the dimly lit room can be intimidating but staff are knowledgeable and helpful when you’re curious about a Georgian skin-contact wine on the chalkboard. Come before 7:00 PM for oyster happy hour ($1.50 a pop, or $1 at the newer Brooklyn location) and order tapas from the ever-changing menu — classics like boquerones, jamon croquettes, and fried ravioli are perfect for soaking up generous pours." - Oset Babür-Winter, CNT Editors
