NYC Bars Focused on Sustainability Right Now | Eater

"The Times Square Edition’s ‘Excelsior’ cocktail is aptly named. Not only is it poured for you amid some of Times Square’s finest luxury, but the New York state motto means “ever upward” in the most aspirational sense. With that in mind, the hotel has sought to remove plastic from its guest experience while also concocting mindful drinks like this one. While other environmentally minded drinks are always on the menu, catch Excelsior while you can at Edition’s Terrace and Outdoor Gardens. It’s a 100% zero-waste cocktail utilizing two kinds of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE — including the luxe BOMBAY SAPPHIRE PREMIER CRU — while reusing the bottles for batching and saving some industrial-volume dishwashing energy, water, and runoff." - Brendan McGinley

Google
Great customer service. I made a mistake with my reservation, and they accommodated me anyway. The outdoor garden is beautiful and transports you out of New York. The brunch buffet was delicious and had a good variety of options. Our waitress Diana was amazing!!! The whole experience was a great one, and I would definitely come back. Giving 4 stars because while most of the food was delicious, not all was worth a 5 star rating.

I booked the $83 per person Sunday Garden Brunch and honestly, for NYC, it was great value -- the gin-based cocktail was refreshing, the main entrée was unique and yummy (mine didn't have enough hollandaise which is the whole point of a benedict so I just asked for more sauce), and the buffet is stunning -- the oysters were fresh and the champagne mignonnette is a great accompaniment. The desserts were good too. The staff were all friendly and lovely. I went alone and felt very taken care of and not rushed. There was no live band as promised on the website, though. The space is stunning -- it's nice to be "outside" but inside with AC in this heat. The actual outside is cute, too, and you forget you're right in Times Square! On staff recommendation I explored a floor up for the views and the lobby is beautifully designed, too.

The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor — everything we tried was so yummy! Our server was amazing, super friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Excellent service and a great experience overall. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Pleasantly surprised with food! Great avocado toast and Cobb salad! Cocktails were great! Service ok. I would highly recommend near times square' quaint and feels exclusive!

Google
Such a lovely place! Visited the restaurant for the first time and had an excellent experience. The food was a little pricey but everything was delicious, you get what you are paying for. Our server Nicole was absolutely attentive and such a sweetheart, even thought she was taking care of other parties as well. Will definitely be back for dinner.

Google
TL;DR: One star for the lovely terrace—nothing else. Would NOT recommend. Disappointed. Came for a Friday-Saturday menu item—was told it’s NOT available on Fridays, despite what their website says... I politely suggested they update the info; the server seemed annoyed… honestly, it was frustrating. Service was painfully SLOW. Decided to try other desserts since we had been seated, spent $45 on this (including tip)... definitely not worth it!!

ATTENTION: Even though the address for the Terrace and Outdoor Gardens Restaurant in the EDITION HOTEL is 7th Avenue, the entrance is not. THE ENTRANCE IS ON 47th STREET, off the corner of 7th Avenue. A landmark for finding the hotel is the large Hershey's Kitchen retail store (pictured below) at the corner of 7th Avenue and 47th Street. I did not enjoy my meal here. I had what they call an express meal for $38 plus tax. The mushroom appetizer, with a mushroom I never had before, was not pleasing to me. The salmon was dry, probably overcooked, even though I ordered it to be cooked medium. Below, the picture on the left was taken on 7th Avenue, the picture on the right was taken on 47th Street. Of the two garden dining rooms offered by this restaurant, I liked the one without all the daylight coming from above. The one WITH all the daylight from above seems too casual and without a proper seating layout.

Google
Very moody vibe/atmosphere, dark & quiet which was nice from the hustle and bustle outside. Staff was great. First stop in town for sister in laws birthday & they had a cute little bday dessert at the end of our meal!

Yelp
AMAZING!! We loved our prix fixe lunch for 2, including tip, came out to $100 (no drinks). The portions were very generous, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. It's tucked up on the 2nd floor of the Edition Hotel just off Times Square. The garden terrace is beautifully appointed with plants and is a very pleasant environment amidst the busy chaos of the streets below :-) The food tastes and flavors - phenomenal. We had the fish and steak - cooked perfectly, and with the right sides (the best shoe string, crispy fries for the steak/legumes for the fish) Such a wonderful outing. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Ate here for lunch. Hotel was clean and the service was great! This was pretty much a quick stop to get some brunch. Overall the ambiance was fantastic. I would come back alittle bit on the pricey side. But again you are in New York City!

Yelp
Food: 5/10 nothing special and very overpriced. You'd probably be better off getting a bagel from one of those shops around New York where they specialize in that. Prices were higher, but expected. Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 beautiful. However in the morning for breakfast they don't let you sit outside and curtains are closed so you can't look outside either. Bummer since we came here for the view.

Yelp
Views were amazing! Go when the weather is good and sit outside. The staff were able to accommodate us selecting the table of our choice. Did not get the chance to try any food during my visit.

Yelp
I went here with a few friends for my birthday for the Sunday Garden Brunch. It was a rough start to the brunch, but my group left very happy with the service and experience as a whole. The host was amazing and worked above and beyond to check on us. And once we had a dedicated server, we were able to really enjoy our time there. They were so accommodating once they realized that the service we were receiving was not up to their standard. I am definitely interested in coming again to hopefully experience the great service and food they have from beginning to end. I had a reservation on the tail end of the brunch. When we first arrived it seemed really busy, but I believe it was because there aren't that many seats for the Garden brunch. They have a bar and an a la carte part of the restaurant that seemed fairly open. They may have had not enough servers or were already winding down for brunch because it was difficult to get served initially. We were not sure what was going on because it wasn't busy, but we had to request water, to refill plates and food in the Garden display and to take our order for the entree. I think this brunch is great because it includes a fresh welcome spritz for all the guests. In terms of food, our favorite part as a group was the Garden display was luxurious and had some really good quality things such as cakes, parfaits, oysters, cocktail shrimp, smoked salmon, charcuterie and grilled vegetables. The entrees were less appealing. The creme brulee french toast was absolutely delicious. The steak and eggs was solid. But the king crab scramble and truffled eggs Benedict were pretty bland, and lacked basic seasoning such as salt and pepper. It is a sophisticated and laid back atmosphere with a live band. The outdoor garden itself is really an enclosed tent canopy that has a ceiling covered with ivory leaves and it was not too hot in the canopy. In order to sit out there, everyone has to participate in the Sunday Garden Brunch. I definitely think the cost is worth it, even with my recent the experience.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant in the edition hotel. The vibe is immaculate with plants galore. Definitely on the expensive side but if you're staying at the hotel, the $35 food and drink credit makes this slightly more worth it. Drinks were spectacular. Old fashioned has an element of peppercorns that just really takes it up a notch. Other drinks were super unique with strange ingredients I'd never seen or heard of before. I spent a few nights here over my work trip and the bartenders were fantastic and cared about their craft. Food was definitely top tier but nothing that blew me away at this price point. I started with steak tartar which was a generous portion but definitely not enough bread with it. The layer of mayo or aioli, whatever was on top of it was also overdone and too much, it overpower the meat. Still delicious though, but couldve been a bit better. The bread was fantastic with a crunch and chew. I then had the pasta with crab. Again very good but nothing out of this world. Decent amount of crab. Good presentation. The pasta and sauce were good. Theres a cool prefixe menu that didn't seem quite worth it to me but may be a good option for some people. Calculated out you get a discounted dessert. Would I stop back in here if not staying at the hotel. Probably not unless I'm feeling the need for bougie cocktails. But is it a reason to stay here again, absolutely.

Yelp
This is quite a beautiful place, but the service is really slow. I came on a weekday for a lunch and we were there for about two and a half hours, not because we were chatting a lot, but because it took a minute for everything! I didn't love the Caesar salad, tasted a bit too bitter for my preference, and didn't like that the chicken was cut up into huge chunks. Focaccia was good, but the mozzarella didn't seem evenly distributed. Tiramisu was the best, but it's pretty hard to mess up tiramisu.... I would consider returning just for the pretty terrace but would definitely get something else.

Yelp
A beautiful hidden gem in the city located on the 7th floor of the Edition Hotel. Came for a lunch during the week around 1pm and was seated quickly. We got to sit on the terrace part which was gorgeous. I could spend hours in there. I ended up going with the restaurant week lunch menu and ordered the fried calamari app and the dorande as the entree for $30. My friend got the tuna tartare and the Asian chicken salad. All of it was good.

Yelp
This place is a surprisingly quiet and calm place to decompress, have a drink or tea, and a good meal, right in the middle of the hectic and crazy Times Square. I come here often because my wife works close by. It's never busy on either the weekend or weekday. My first time here was a Saturday and there were many tables in the garden area. We made reservations, which I would recommend anyways. But they will often seat you in either the garden or dining area with no problem if you just walk in. For these reasons I give it 4 stars! The ambiance is also super chill and hip as well as luxurious. The menu is very sparse. There is not much to choose from. Not a lot of good options. However some dishes are good. The king crab pasta was priced fair at around $34. I also had the duck once. The chocolate soufflé is verrrry sweet. I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like overly sweet things. But it does come with ice cream. For birthdays they serve the celebrant a complimentary chocolate mouse cake, individually sized. It is very delicious! However it's not on the menu. So if you go here for someone's birthday be sure to tell the staff!!

Yelp
Came here after work to meet up with a friend. A few thoughts: - absolutely love the ambiance & decor. It's very chic/sexy and in my opinion, perfect for a date night - I don't drink so absolutely loved the fact that they had spirit free selections. I ordered the "sober spice" - almave blue agave, grapefruit, & Tajín and it was so delicious and refreshing! -the food wasn't that great and underwhelming unfortunately. We ordered the fries and cheese fondue (which I personally think that's a weird mix) and the fries were average and cheese fondue wasn't good. - I ordered a salad but felt like a rabbit lol it was butter lettuce but it wasn't even chopped up and it was too much. It came with vinaigrette and pistachios/ goat cheese, but there was barely any of that :( I normally always finish my food but this was disappointing and didn't finish it - my friend ordered the broccoli cacio e pepe and there was nothing cacio e Pepe about it! :( pasta was overcooked and presentation was meh. Service was okay. That said, I do believe this is a cute place for date night or to meet up for drinks if you are in the midtown area!

Yelp
This place is wonderful! I visited the restaurant with my husband and we had such a great time. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable.

Yelp
The food and cocktails here are excellent, and the setting inside is gorgeous. Nice to have more high quality stuff like this available in Times Square, a respite from the madness outside. Highlights were definitely the spanish grilled octopus, minted cavatelli with lamb ragu, king crab tagliatelle, and the tiramisu with cold brew foam. Gotta say though, the service is lacking. Everybody is polite but damn does it take a long time for someone to bring you drinks or come check on you. Management if you're reading this, you should establish SLAs for how quickly someone gets their first drink, how often a table is being checked on, and how long it takes from the time a new drink is ordered to the time it is delivered. This is basic blocking and tackling for running a high end restaurant and if someone can't order a glass of wine to go with their current course, you're losing money.

Yelp
Second time visit. The Terrace's dining atmosphere is nice, and the service is excellent. The skirt steak tastes great!

Yelp
Overall: Strong cocktails, lots of choices for appetizers and entrees, with attentive service, in a charming atmosphere. Tastiness: I had an old fashioned, the squid and calamari and all of it was tasty. But none of it was so special or creative or tasty that it would leave an impression. Service: Quick and attentive, without being overbearing. Ambiance: stepping inside this restaurant is like stepping inside a botanical garden. The space is naturally bright during the day, and dark and cozy in the evening. The music is enjoyable and not too loud. The tables are well spaced and the decor is that of an urban oasis. Cleanliness: Very clean. Price: Expensive for the quality of the food, even though it's in Times Square. Cocktails and glasses of wine in the $24-30 range, appetizers in the $16-28, and entrees in the $32-$60 range (with most around $40.

Yelp
This hotel restaurant was a nice surprise! It was ecommended by a friend as a refreshing hideaway in Times Square and he was spot on! Though the summer heat prevented us from choosing the outdoor terrace, the indoor dining all bedecked in it faux flora was still a treat! The lunch prix fixe was amazingly affordable, offered a nice selection to choose from and as an added bonus for me personally, had many options that were safe based on my food allergies! The staff and chef were clear and concise about their knowledge of items. One of my pet peeves is when staff stated "we think" it should be safe! I need to know, and this staff delivered! They even highlighted items on the menu other than the prix fixe and made suggestions for substitutions to make other items safe for me! My starter of clams was flavorful, just the right amount, and hit the appetizer spot leaving room to enjoy my sandwich. The sandwich bread was both fluffy and toasty as a panini should be. The prosciutto left a little bit of a question in my mind, but I've never chosen prosciutto in a hot sandwich before, so I should hold full commentary for now! My luncheon guests choices looked delicious and passed his deliciousness test as well! Service. Well, as I state I am a service snob, I would say service was not as I expected. That said, the little slips made in table setting and follow up were negated in my view by the personalized concern and follow through offered regarding allergies!

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, my waitress made sure that my mom and I were able to get in and out before our broadway show! We ordered the focaccia to share (9/10 was so good and it tasted kind of like a mini pizza) and the tuna tartare (8/10 tasted good but kind of small) She ordered the half chicken (10/10 was perfectly cooked) and I ordered the grilled dorade (10/10 also perfectly cooked and the farro it was on top was good too!) we also each got a glass of wine which added together definitely made dinner expensive but good for special occasions!

Yelp
This place feels like a hidden gem inside The Times Square EDITION. The restaurant is gorgeous, the decor and furniture are very inviting with pretty plants throughout. Reservations are available and we were quickly seated. The staff is very attentive and I almost never noticed when they refilled my water. I am surprised at how affordable everything on the menu was. The bolognese was surprisingly delicious and was vegetarian. This would be the perfect place to dine at before a Broadway show!

Yelp
The Edition (Marriott hotel) doesn't look like much from the outside. You can literally walk right past it and not notice that's IT. The lobby entrance is a little weird. Doesn't look like a hotel lobby or area you can check in. Once you walk in, the smell in the lobby is amazing. They seem to have some sort of fragrance misting the entire time which is great. I had some friends staying here for a few days and decided to meet them for brunch. We met at The Terrace restaurant. We went on a Sunday for brunch around 1:15pm. When we walked in, the host told us no one from our party was here. As we walked to sit and wait, we saw our friends ALREADY seated at a time. The host didnt know who already checked in. There was two other tables occupied in the restaurant and that's it. There's a section inside and another section that looks like a greenhouse but its beautiful in there. Then there's this little tiny area outside that's truly a terrace. Its small and has a few seats and tiny tables. We originally sat inside. We had drinks and ate food there. Then migrated to outside for additional drinks. We started off with four people and ended up with twelve. Inside i ordered a bellini. It was really tasty and consistent. I had three of them and each tasted the same which i loved. My husband had a Margarita and loved it. Everyone who had drinks said it was really strong. Which i appreciated since each drink is $20+. My husbands Margarita was $29 EACH. From the brunch menu, i ordered the steak and eggs $28. I got my eggs cooked over easy and the steak medium. Everything came out perfect. My husband got the burger, $31, and he loved it. The cheese fondue comes on the side which is great and was also good with the fries. The other guest had the chicken sandwich which they didn't like. The chicken was dry and seemed to be baked. One other person had the Avocado toast and it was okay. I highly recommend the steak and eggs. It comes with sofrito potatoes which were also good. The steak is already cut for you and comes with chimichurri sauce on top. It was great. The steak was cooked perfectly. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was really patient and attentive. We had multiple people running late and coming at different times. She greeted everyone and did a good job of attending us. We ended up with two waiters because she had to leave. We got a gentlemen who was also really nice and attentive. In total we had 6 entrees and 10 drinks. Everything totalled $550. We had the bills split out and my steak, one burger and four drinks totalled $206.20. Again, drinks are expensive and food portions are small. Overall this was a nice place to visit once. It's a beautiful location to host a brunch since they can accommodate large parties. The ambiance and atmosphere would make it worth it.

Yelp
I came here and hosted my birthday brunch on 3/16. The four star rating is mainly for the setting tbh. The restaurant is on the rooftop of The Edition hotel and and nicely decorated. I can see why someone was also hosting their bridal shower here. The location is in Times Square so don't book here unless you're fine with passing through a lot of tourist on the way. The food is just solid but the staff is great and will make sure you're taken care of. All in all worth a visit or a consideration for a special event!

Jonathan T.

Yelp
Absolutely exquisite hidden gem off of Times Square is upstairs in a hotel, and you REALLY have to hunt for it. Once you get upstairs you're ushered into a classy oasis reminiscent of a 40's supper club. The lack of a coffeebreakfast cocktail was surprising, but my (wonderful) server hooked me up with some Bailey's. Pain au chocolate? Yes please. Knockout breakfast sandwich? Heck yeah. Service so nice and attentive, and they got me out the door perfectly on time for my Museum of Broadway tour. Skip the chain restaurants and come here.

Yelp
We were staying in the hotel next-door and decided to try it. I must say it was a good choice. The restaurant has an outdoor garden. If you'd like to sit out there we sat inside. It was a nice place, so we could talk to our friends we had the salmon, which was delicious. We also had the burrito cheese, which was outstanding. The vegetarian platter was very good. Skirt steak was very tasty. Service was good if you're in the area and you're going to the theater would be a nice place to stop. They do have a pre theater dinner $64.

Yelp
I would definitely be here more often if it wasn't in the middle of Times Square...lol! I just can't with all the tourists. However, you grin and bear it for a friend's Birthday brunch. 1: You don't expect the look of the place. It's sophisticated and modern with greenery everywhere. I could just sit there and bask in it. 2: Surprising the food and drinks matched the vibe. On the table...steak & eggs, crème brulee French toast, lobster soft scramble, mushroom omelet, and of course mimosas and bellinis. I can speak for the steak and eggs and French toast that a friend and I shared....SOOOO tasty! 3. Service was a little at first b/c the person kept for getting things. They brought out food w/ something that should've been removed. However, the manager took care of it swiftly and sent us a round of drinks. I wish this was in a less crazy place of the city. It would easily become my fav spot. I'll just save it for special occasions now.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
The overall atmosphere here is perfect for some drinks after work or special occasions. We weren't able to be seated in the outdoor garden area which is supposedly the pretty spot for pictures, but overall the dishes were good, especially the pasta. I do think their brunch menu is much better though

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and chose it due to proximity to Times Square, décor, and menu. I don't think I would go to this place if it wasn't for the lunch special. The lunch special itself is quite attractive, and I'd definitely come again only for lunch though. For $35 you can choose a starter and a main. All options there are available in their regular menu which add up to be way more than the $35 in the set. The variety of options they provide is very generous too. We sat in their outdoor garden area. It's heated quite well (maybe a bit stuffy if you're overdressed). The best part is the floral decorations surrounding the ceiling and walls. It's very densely packed but won't look overwhelming. It's a great spot to host an event/party. We passed by the indoor seating on the way to the terrace - not sure if it's only for evenings or other restaurant in the hotel, but it looks elegant and chic. Yes, this restaurant is in inside a hotel. The entrance is slightly more elegant than office buildings, but I believe their lobby is on a higher floor. I read how some guests are using their dining credits from staying at the hotel which explains the bigger variety of guests at the restaurant. It doesn't feel like it's a business meal spot at all (of course there were a couple of people who didn't look like they are on vacation). Seems like the décor hasn't gone viral yet because it doesn't look jam packed with people all dressed up for photos too. I appreciate how this place is family friendly despite the way it looks. The food was surprising too. For the first course I was debating between the caesar salad and mushroom carpaccio but went with the salad since the carpaccio looked a bit flimsy. For the second course I was debating between the dorade and steak but went with the steak because again from seeing photos of a small piece of fish. Caesar salad was bigger than expected. It looks big enough to be an entrée (if you add some protein) instead of a starter salad. I like how it has a variety of greens rather than just the traditional lettuce. Despite all the dressing and parm on top, the salad never felt too overwhelming or salty. It comes with a parm crisp/biscuit which was slightly soggy but I appreciated the burst of umami. The steak frites didn't actually come with fries despite the name. It came with a side of mushroom, scallion, garlic crisps instead. I asked for medium rare but it came out closer to medium to medium-well. It wasn't a problem since the meat was really juicy and tender. It looks like the meat is sitting in a pile of oil, but it didn't feel oily to eat at all. Based on the pattern of the juices, I think they put the whole plate in the oven after cooking it. I normally am not the biggest fan of chimichurri sauce, but I like how the one here isn't too grassy and is quite refreshing. The meat was slightly too salty, but the portions are great. I felt full afterwards. My friend ordered the burger which comes with fries and a cheese fondue. There was a booboo where the server charged us for additional cheese even though we never requested and this item comes with it. We asked for ketchup to dip the fries and we got two tiny cute bottles of it. I'm guessing it's meant for single servings when people order room service. We struggled to open the packaging and ended up not using it. There were fries leftover and we asked to get it packed to go. A different server took away the two ketchup bottles that we were thinking of taking home as a little souvenir. Our usual server was also attentive in that he gave us a paper bag to carry the fries, because the one who gave the container didn't provide a bag. We didn't have time for dessert but I would've been interested in trying!

Yelp
Beautiful garden seating. We ordered the calamari and burrata. They were both delicious. We were staying at the hotel so we didn't expect much, but it was a nice treat to enjoy it as much as we did. We also had the mushroom truffle eggs Benedict that was good for breakfast. But the continental buffet is lacking. Pretty sad, actually.

Yelp
Tuna - bland and sort of not-so-fresh (i mean on the verge of being stale) Tie dye salad - only iceberg visible, beet & pista so less u will struggle to spot them Tiramisu - good Service - expect to be told that there's scarce availability while 60% might be vacant.. expect to wait for 15 mins for ur check to arrive, another 15 for someone to pick the card Ambiance - nice, but if u r going solo, they can put u on a table with leaves from a plant hanging on ur face (and they couldn't care less) You can totally skip it !

Yelp
I hesitate to give anything lower than 5 stars, but I have to for this experience. The restaurant is on maybe the 7th floor of this hotel. Unless you're actually in the garden area, there's almost no windows so it doesn't at all feel like you're on a terrace, or an outdoor garden. The drinks are each at minimum $30 which is outrageous even for New York. The waiter told us we had to be out within an hour because they had a reservation coming, yet was nowhere to be found when we wanted to order or needed refills. The food was tasty and reasonably priced (compared to the drinks), but it didn't make up for the whole overall experience being subpar. If this was somewhere else in the country, I might say go for it, but at this location you have so many wonderful options - don't waste your time and money here.

Yelp
It's definitely a hidden gem but it's located inside the Times Square Edition hotel on the 9th floor. Upon entrance you feel like you're in a secret garden somewhere in the jungle. So much foliage and it's extremely beautiful. The terrace is a nice place to just relax and have a drink. Ambience is very cozy; definitely on the quiet, intimate side. Our waiter Tea was very helpful as she provided great suggestions based on our preference. For apps, we had the Spanish octopus and one of the best we've had especially the potatoes. For the main course, we had the halibut and the dorade. Halibut was okay as it lacked salt but the dorade fish was absolutely delicious. Never had this fish before and there are no regrets. For dessert, we had their famous chocolate soufflé (menu tells you to order 30mins prior) and was not disappointed especially the ice cream on the side. Finished off our dinner with some chamomile tea. Will be returning when we're in the mood to stop by Times Square again. A perfect spot in the heart of Times Square!

Yelp
Came here for a birthday lunch and I was struck by how beautiful the ambiance was! The interior is decorated by plants and is sophisticated, classy, while still being modern. The service was wonderful and fast. However, the food was a little underwhelming. I got the avocado toast, which tasted really strange as there was an enormous amount of mint on it. I never thought that mint and avocado were a great mix. Also, it didn't seem to be seasoned very well. Overall, I would come here for the ambiance, not the food.

Yelp
Surprisingly outstanding! The setting is lovely and our server superb. The food was creative and so good. Perfect cocktails and good wine list. Loved the burrata, clams and the trumpet mushroom carpaccio. The lobster tagliatelle and the broccoli cacio e pepe perfect. Everything was delicious, including the coconut tembleque... Will definitely be back! Also enjoyed the outdoor bar upstairs, on 10.

Yelp
Unfortunately, when I came here, the outdoor terrace was closed. So I had to dine in indoors. The food overall is OK. Small portions, fresh ingredients, solid atmosphere and ambience. conveniently decided to eat here, given that I was staying at the hotel as well. This is a great place to dine and have a conversation as the restaurant vives very much facilitate that. There's also a bar right next door to it within the hotel. Overall, it's not a bad experience, but nothing exceptional either.

Yelp
Ambiance is simply fantastic and as is their service! We tried almost all their vegetarian dishes (plenty of options, and their chef is a vegetarian himself) and loved all of them! Great place to have food if you are in Times Square area.

Yelp
What an intimate and wonderful dinner my bf and I had last night for dinner. We are staying right across the street so the walk here made sense given the downpour. This spot is located in the Edition hotel and is really lovely! The scent of this hotel can be smelled as soon as you enter and I am here for whatever candle they use!! I was a bit skeptical of leaving my bf in charge of this surprise NYC date after he mentioned our dinner was right in Times Square. This is generally where the most touristy and overpriced dinners live, so I was pretty much assuming we were going to a Cheesecake Factory-esque dining experience. Boy was I wrong! This was a fabulous experience and did not at all feel touristy or any Times Square hustle bustle. We were seated instantly and it really wasn't busy at all -- maybe the rain + this place is new and in a hotel making it less busy. Our waitress was T, and she was amazing! Great service and super personable! For drinks, I got a Mojito and my boyfriend got an old fashioned. Along with drinks, we also ordered the deep dish focaccia to start. Both came out at the perfect time...WOW! That focaccia was incredible. Crisp on the edges, soft and fluffy inside, cheesy on top, and saucy right underneath. They nailed this one because I really could have this weekly. For entrees, we did one strip steak and one carrot bolognese both to share. These were both 10/10 but portions are on the smaller side! We scarfed every last bite and were so satisfied. I really liked the unique carrot bolognese (completely vegan) because I had never heard anything like it. The strip steak was also one of the best I had, and that chimichurri sauce definitely made the dish. For dessert, we decided on the cheesecake and it was a perfect choice. It almost tasted yogurt like due to the level of creaminess and lack of crust. I kind of wish there was a crust because it is one of my fav parts, but overall it was great! Don't sleep on this place! For the experience, the prices were pretty standard for NYC and I would love to return in the future!

Yelp
Beautiful decor with plenty of green and light. On 9th floor of hotel. Enter on 47th street off 7th Avenue. Great service. Enjoyed our duck and salmon entrees. Sides of spinach and fries good and sharing size. Had the chocolate soufflé dessert.

Yelp
Went for breakfast on a weekday and though food was decently good, service was really slow even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Our server was nice..just slow and we had to flag him down several times for coffee orders, water, and to check where our food orders were. Even the check was slow..not sure what the issue was. The setting is gorgeous, lots of greenery. Whether you sit indoors or outdoors, you'll have a great experience. Just tell the server to move it along!

Yelp
3.5 - Stopped in for a weekday lunch, and had a lovely experience. The space is beautiful - we sat in the indoor garden-room which is beautifully styled to a country-garden ambiance (but mercifully indoors on a very hot day!). Service was a little slow, but luckily we were not in a rush to get back to work. The food was solid - enjoyed everything we had. Stand-outs for me were the deep dish focaccia and lemon-thyme cheesecake with blueberry compote. Not quite 4 stars because most of the food was a well executed version of something I've had before, but not quite the best I've had. For example, the burrata was nice, but not as creamy and rich as I might have liked. The broccoli cacio e pepe was flavorful, but a tad salty and maybe too heavy for summer. Tiramisu was standard. Overall, very good and I would go back, and it's great to have this option when compelled to go to the Times Square area.

Yelp
Ambiance on the patio is gorgeous - indoors is meh. The food was excellent. I tried lemon pancakes for the first time and I'm a fan. Service was excellent. It's pricey but worth the experience. Loved seeing all of the old pictures on the wall!

Yelp
I came to The Terrace and Outdoor Gardens as a little treat to take myself out to dinner before a concert at Radio City Music Hall, and I had the nicest time! The online reservation system wouldn't allow me to make a res for one person, so I called in. Afterwards I noticed that the reservation was set for seating at the bar (why would I call to make a reservation for that?) so I called again and spoke to Jessica who very kindly adjusted it for me. Upon arrival, I was seated at a corner table that was tucked away amidst the beautiful foliage. As a solo diner I really appreciated the extra bit of privacy this gave me, while not feeling so tucked away that I couldn't enjoy the atmosphere. Which, by the way, was wonderful. Sitting in the "outdoor" (fully enclosed) section, you're surrounded by foliage and lots of natural light. The light that came in through the windows at golden hour was magical. It's really easy to forget that you're in the middle of Times Square! I started off with a Next Day Air cocktail, which was tart, sweet, and refreshing and a burrata appetizer that came with fresh greens and crispy bread. For my entree I had the king crab pasta, and I really appreciated the option to order a smaller portion. Even though it was so delicious and I wanted more, this let me save some room for dessert. I had the matcha panna cotta which was light as air and so good! Not a single complaint about the food, I loved everything. Lastly, the service was great. All of the staff was on point and super attentive- refilling my water glass, clearing the table of empty plates, even swapping out the flowers on the table for fresh ones. I had such a nice time here and would definitely come back. Already recommending it to family and friends!

Yelp
Un-trained waitstaff ruins the experience. Came for an 'express lunch' on the day of my birthday before seeing a show. What was supposed to be an indulgent leisurely lunch - ended in waiting over 30 mins for our drinks to arrive (we ordered two simple glasses of Prosecco which the waitstaff got wrong twice) over an hour for a salad to arrive, and almost an hour and a half for my entree to arrive (which the waitstaff also got wrong twice). Beautiful place and the food is delicious - but for this price point the waitstaff seemed unexperienced, confused and overall just not paying attention to patrons. Bad on management for allowing a simple 'I'm sorry' repeated over and over to make up for what turned into an expensive rushed lunch.

Yelp
My friend and I had a great time at the terrace. The food was so delicious, they have a fondue sauce that was so good I took some home. Our server was so sweet and attentive. She went above and beyond for us to have a great time. I'll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Swanky restaurant in a swanky hotel off of the chaos of Times Square. It's quite dark. The staff were nice. Had a solid martini. My buddy and I split an order of good cacio e pepe to start. Could have used some bread to mop up the sauce. When I ordered the duck, the waitress suggested a side dish to accompany it, which was a bad omen. The duck was excellent but was an appetizer portion. We split an order of vegetables as a side. The food was good, but not quite enough and I wasn't in the mood for dessert. 3.25 stars. A nice respite from Times Square, but a bad value proposition.

Yelp
This place is such a treat! Honestly they exceeded my expectations. I was thinking it was going to be one of those Times Square tourist traps with Instagramable decor and lack luster food but I was so pleasantly surprised that the food we had was amazing! I made a reservation for 5 people on a Saturday night, we were promptly seated. We had an amazing waitress and I feel terrible that I don't remember her name. If someone sees this please remind me the name of the server who is taking classes at Cornell and has family who owns a restaurant in DR. She was so sweet and patient and even gave us a little tour of the restaurant to really show its beauty, even taking pics of my group there. Thank you! The food like I mentioned was so delicious! What we ordered: - Calamari Tempura: it might have been the best fried calamari dish any of us have ever had - Deep Dish Focaccio: so yummy and a nice app to share - Fries: perfect shoe string fries - Li Crescent Duck: if you're going to order one entree let it be this one! All of us were wowed by how good it was considering we're not big duck fans - Half Bell + Evans Chicken: very good as well - a Burger but I don't see it on the online menu currently to provide the exact name. All in all it was a pleasure dining there and I have raved about this place to all of my friends. I look forward to going back soon and dining in one of the other rooms. Only hiccup we had was that for some reason the elevator was not working properly and we were waiting for over 10 minutes for it to be able to leave. We even were trying to find the stairs as we were getting desperate but our server saw us waiting and went to figure it out. It was very sweet of her.

Yelp
The ambiance was wonderful. Our server was awesome and always on it! The food was incredible! I got the lobster roll and a side of fries and it was DELICIOUS. YOU HAVE TO GO.

Yelp
Had evening reservations on a Saturday and the place was busy so we waited at the bar. The ambiance seemed a little hectic as the waiters kept running by and one of them dropped a tray of drinks causing spillage and broken glass everywhere. Once we were seated we started with the baked clams which i wasn't a big fan of, the bacon flavors were a little overwhelming. Next i got the broccoli cacio and pepe pasta and my husband got the steak. He said the steak was good but nothing special and had too much going on ingredient wise. My pasta on the other hand was really good and was probably the highlight of the night. It was cooked perfectly in the green broccoli sauce and a little spicy. We also ordered the chocolate soufle and lemon meringue dessert. Both were good but really big in portion. The lemon meringue, also had potential to be good but was overpowered by too many ingredients. Overall we enjoyed most of the food but would probably not go back.

Yelp
I made reservations on Resy and was sat instantly. The ambiance was very pretty & green. The Empire Caesar salad w/ steak was to die for. Probably the best Caesar salad i've ever had. My husband had the billboard burger which was a tad disappointing for the price. There are no condiments other than meat and cheese and the fries were very hard. We ended up spending $135 with tip. Service was good and attentive.

Yelp
Went at an off time, so had the limited afternoon service menus between lunch and dinner, and was nearly empty. Appreciated that they kept service going anyway vs shutting down for the transition. Service was welcoming and friendly and attentive. Giving tea party vibes with the grandmother's house upholstery everywhere. Tea service would seem more fitting for the ambience. Decor was very charming and pretty with the plants everywhere. I think brunch would be much better in this setting. Definitely a delightful escape from Times Square. The bar and dining room looked tres chic. Would come back at a different time of day.

Yelp
I came here before and enjoyed my brunch however after today's incident we will not come back (spoiler alert: the restaurant basically try to overcharge us by $300+ and making this one of the most stressful birthday experience). The restaurant asked us to choose between two pre-fix menus ($45/pp or $65/pp). Basically for a party of 7+ they will not allow you order from their regular menu. We decided to go with the $65/person option not realizing the additional $20/person only include 2 Greek yogurts and 2 steaks/eggs for 12 people! (Note: they only charge $28 for the steak/egg on their regular menu) After complaining to the management and show them the calculation, we were charge the itemization amount. At first the manager try to convince us that we were getting enough for 12 and that the pricing is better. When I asked for the itemized price he don't even know it and have to give us the menu to calculate it ourselves then reconfirm with us after heading to the back. They realized they were overcharging us and gave us the itemized price. However, we would have wanted to choose our own items if that's the case (we don't need need 5 pastry towers and only 2 orders of steaks). Now if the foods were better it will be ok but most of the foods felt like it were precook and serve to us a bit cold. I attached pictures of the foods, menu and charges for reference.

Yelp
When you dine-in here is a must order Steak n Eggs, the steak is very juicy n tender . The Chinese Chicken Salad was ok but the drink is not to my taste. It was only taste bitter & without any coffee aroma at all. Out of all, is a nice place to dine-in.
