Yelp
Long overdue review. I've been here on three occasions and always end up having a great time.
The walls are decorated with a Japanese geisha sporting gangster sunglasses and a fan. Overall, a very cool, underground vibe.
The food is pricey, but bear in mind that you're paying for a high energy, pop-inspired singing and dancing on top of it all. The wait staff seem to enjoy their job which involves learning the choreography and dancing on top of waiter/waitress duties. You can view the entertainment all from the second level or be completely immersed in it on the first level, all while enjoying your meal.
For dishes, I recommend the Pink Pagoda Punch Bowl, the Chili Garlic Edamame, and the Honey Brick Toast. The Pink Pagoda Punch Bowl (plum sake, vodka, sparkling rosé, grapefruit liqueur), is perfect to share amongst 3-4 people and does not skimp on the alcohol (I mean, every ingredient has some kind of alcohol in it) and the Honey Brick Toast is to die for. Coming from the Bay Area, it was one of best honey brick toasts I have ever had.
Sake Rok, you will always have a place in my heart. Until next time!
TLDR: If you want to have a good time with live entertainment, food, alcohol, and a cool ambiance, come here!
