The Thai Thing

Yellow curry was the most watery curry I've ever had in my life. And the chicken isn't good -- tastes as if it was frozen and no seasoning whatsoever (including salt). Zero spice (and they don't ask you how much spice you want) so this place seems very Americanized (which the music selection supports). The rice is some of the worst rice I've had at a restaurant -- super mushy as if I attempted to make rice at home in a rice cooker (which I'm not skilled at). Egg rolls are pretty solid -- dripping with too much oil though. Thai tea was solid. Food came out too hot; had to wait a few minutes to eat. Nice interior and good service. Fair prices ($32 for the above).

The BEST Thai food I’ve had in LA. I dream of their Panang curry. It’s rich and savory and feels so nourishing. Also love the fresh rolls, their peanut sauce is to die for. Can’t wait to go back!

This is one of my favorite eateries in west Hollywood. The food is authentic n always fresh. We ordered the egg rolls for an Appetizer and they were very light. My rice with fried chicken was a large portion and seasoned very well. I am not a fan of the crust on chicken, but this is so good, I order it repeatedly. My son enjoyed his spicy dish of glass noodles with chicken, shrimp, and mushrooms. We will continue to eat there every chance we get. They are only open in the evening, though.

This Thai foods restaurant was so good! To be honest the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever tried in LA. I like the atmosphere here more like a home cooked meal which is very traditional and authentic. I recommend pai Thai,yellow curry the green roll here. Actually I wanna try everything on this menu. If I have friends visit LA I will take them to this restaurant.This is a fully spontaneous recommendation not a advertisement cause I really have a great time here. Hope you guys enjoy:))))

What a delightful find! The service at this Thai restaurant was exemplary, with the staff being knowledgeable about the menu and offering great recommendations. The food was a culinary masterpiece - each dish was a burst of Thai flavors that left me craving for more. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place to unwind with friends. The food was so delicious! My favorite was the mango sticky rice and the Pad Thai. I would easily say that this is one of the best Thai restaurants in LA. Also, the workers were so friendly and welcoming, overall such a warm and cozy atmosphere :)

Lovely place with good food and great service. Biked here and appreciated all of the space to sit next to my bike on the patio (looked like there was lots of car parking too). Loved the Thai Limenade and the enjoyed the Tom Kha soup and Pad Khee Mao. The server was so accommodating of my food preferences and was able to make my dishes vegan. Food came out fast and was nice sized portions.

Love this place! My favorite Pad Thai in the area. My friends loved their spicy yellow curry as well. Service is good and fast. It’s a small place but cute, better when it’s nice out and you can sit outside. Highly recommend!

Awesome!! We got some green curry and garlic noodles. The staff were very helpful, and the noodles were among the most flavorful and crispy I've had. I couldn't recommend it more. I'll be back!!

I've finally decided to try out this spot before a girls night out and had such a pleasant experience! 8.5/10 Ambiance: This place has a relaxed boho atmosphere that is nicely decorated and bright. It really fits in with the area. I would recommend to come here for a nice brunch with friends or dinner. It's a nice spot that's never too crowded and has great service. 7/10 Food: I ordered the Pad Thai, which was good but not the best I've ever tried. I prefer stronger savory/sour flavors and this dish tasted a bit more mild. I do think that it will fit in with a wide range of palates though. The Thai tea however, was delicious. It was just the right amount of milky sweetness that you would like. I'd definitely order that again. The portions were also very generous. I ate until I was stuffed and still had plenty to-go. My friend ordered the garlic noodles that looked amazing as well. I would love to come back and try that dish for sure. Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience. I do like the overall atmosphere of this place and the food is decent enough for me to want to come back.

Very unfortunate the way I was spoken to upon arriving. I am a disabled individual, and part of my medical equipment is my service dog. Immediately I was told I couldn't sit inside and was told to sit outside in tables under the sun when it was 90 degrees outside. I told her I didn't want to sit outside and she said my dog wasn't allowed inside. I explained the dog is a working dog. My service animal was clearly vested and I myself was wearing SD labeling as well. Per California Law, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits restaurants from refusing service to people with service animals. The ADA requires that businesses that serve the public allow service animals in all areas where customers are normally allowed to go, including the indoor dining room. Businesses cannot deny entry to a person with a service animal even if they have a "no pets" policy, or if a server has allergies. Ultimately, after needing to advocate for myself, they allowed us to sit inside. But I did not feel welcome or accepted. This is discrimination against the disabled community. Wouldn't recommend this place

We ordered take out and the portions are sooooooo small now. even the shrimp very small shrimp You can tell they cut on portions! So sad because this is one of our favorite places we might start going somewhere else :/

dirty shrimp and piss poor service. showed proof of dirty items and said she refund my order. now days later every lame excuse why my money not back in my account. youre so busy at hospital yet you reply to this review. i addressed all the shrinp its on that order that night. play with your d@@n mama with your lies.

Anyplace in LA with its own parking lot is automatically a win for me. Albeit it's small with only five spots, but it's better than none! When we sat down, we were the only ones in the restaurant so we were nervous that we might regret this choice. However, we arrived only 30 minutes after they opened and they had nonstop to go orders being prepared already. By the time we left, half the tables were filled. (Which isn't yes since there's maybe 10 tables that fit two or four.) We ordered the yellow curry with tofu, pad see ew with tofu, and chicken pad Thai. Personally, the boiled tofu texture in the curry was not my jam, but the flavor profile was amazing. The portions were pretty big. (Except the curry, but I find curry portions to be modest anywhere.) Even though we ordered 3 meals, it was as if we ordered 5. We took home half of the pad see ew and half of the pad Thai. So that made us feel good since these prices were a bit higher than some of the other Thai places we frequent. Generally, the food was good. I wouldn't say it was the best I've had in LA, but definitely good enough that I would continue to eat here in the future. I appreciated that the menu was good at listing allergens and vegetarian options.

This spot was recommended to me a while back from a guy I met at a mixer so I wanted to try it out while in the area. The wait was surprisingly short, the parking isn't much but is probably standard for LA, the customer service is A-1. I ordered the pad thai and mango sticky rice. Both were pretty good. I had one thai spot spoil me with these toasted sesame seeds on my mango sticky rice and I wish every place would make it that same way, but I enjoyed here nonetheless and would try more when in the area again.

I've been here three times to dine in; ordered takeout for the first time this evening. Food is always great and the staff is always friendly. I tend to always get the yellow curry, Tom Kha soup and green rolls. Tonight I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. So good! I came here with a large group around 9 pm on a weekday and it was super lively and busy. The space was small but had nice lighting and surprisingly a lot of seating. I ordered the My Garlic noodles with chicken and a thai iced tea. The food was top tier - the chicken was incredibly juicy and the thai iced tea was refreshing and not too sweet. I also tried the fiery crispy shrimp which was pretty good. My only complaint was the wait time as they were heavily understaffed with only 1 server and 2 cooks. However, they were doing their best and were incredibly friendly despite rushing around to serve all the tables. I would definitely come again!! :)

Food is decent but not worth driving out of your way for. We tried the papaya salad, pad see ew, and mhok puk. Food wasn't spicy enough for my liking, but they brought us fresh chilies on the side that made it better. Noodles were great, but we were not a fan of the mhok puk. The service is nice and the space is cute.

With so many good reviews on yelp I decided to order Thai Thing on ubereats but oh my... I hate leaving negative reviews but this was by far the worst thai food I've had in LA. The curry was super watery/saturated and the pad thai was barely coated in flavor that it was basically blanched noodles if not for the lemon on the side.. I'm hoping this was a one off experience and that the kitchen had a bad day as I ordered near closing time.

Best thai spot in town! The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The green curry is so tasty that you can drink the soup straight. The pad see yew is also great (better than the pad thai here). Honorable mentions to the mango sticky rice (when available) and fresh spring rolls (the peanut sauce is homemade and so delicous). Go-to spot for vegans and non-vegans alike! Staff is super friendly. Easy free parking lot attached. Sister restaurant is La Ong in Beverly Hills for a more sit-down restaurant feel with a full bar. Also amazing!

Visited for the first time, and the foods were really good(fried tofu was really delicious). Great service!

Grabbed a quick takeaway meal. Meals were delicious (pork pad thai and pork see yew). Should have tried a different protein but there's always next time! Service is very friendly.

Delicious food with exceptional service. The only downside is the limited parking. I highly recommend sharing. I got the Thai basil with beef, crispy chicken with garlic rice, and pad see eew's more flavorful cousin, pad kee mao (with chicken). All of it was fantastic and I can't wait to go back!

Pros: Tasty Great egg rolls (they won't change your life but they will lift your mood!) Friendly service Low-key cafe atmosphere Perfect neighborhood restaurant Cons: Feels more like fusion than Thai, but is tasty nevertheless. Way, way, way too much rice served with entrees, so the value for what you get is pretty bad. Everything is served like a rice bowl. My green bean dish (prik king, which I've had many times at other places) had a laughably small amount of beans. To sum it up: shrinkanomics is the name of the game here. If you can live with that, it's pretty good.

Service and food both bad. Even though TTT had promise,, they overcooked the food which had a propane/gas smell and taste. We tried to eat a bit more but realized it wasn't improving, that's when their (poor) service kicked in. The waiter backed by management challenged us and asked why we ate part of the meal...because we hoped it wasn't on all of it and we were hungry. They made us a new dish but only small after admonishing us, the customer, pahlease! Treat your customers better. We won't be back for awhile but hope you fix the attitude and quality control...you have potential.

Finally popped in here on a Friday night at around 8 pm and was seated promptly! Cute interior and very friendly staff. Organic green rolls YAY Tom Yum soup YAY (but be careful if you add spice, it can get pretty HOT) **both were fresh and large portions Still have yet to try their main courses! I got too full on the apps. But looking forward to my next visit. Things to note: - Seems the majority of their business is Togo orders - They do not serve alcohol to my knowledge - bathroom on site - patio seating available

The Thai Thing is our favorite! We grab it for take out a lot and it's so consistent and always good! We also enjoy going and sitting on the patio, the vibes are nice, they have heaters and there's music playing! We are obsessed with their chicken pad Thai! Other dishes we love: Panang chicken curry, Crispy Pork, Garlic Noodles and shrimp. You really can't go wrong. I also love their lychee iced tea!

Cute little place in the neighborhood however the Service alone makes me not want to eat elsewhere. Period. Walked in no one says hello. Stood at counter for some time, watching the person behind register tap away at some tablet instead pf acknowledging the customers waiting. Also made eye contact with a few servers whom also said nothing. "Hi, we will be right with you." It's that simple. A little effort in customer service goes a Loooooong way. Also if there is a line. You answer the phone and put them on hold to deal with those in front of you. it is soo easy to lose potential business these days by the Lack of Customer service.

Beautiful night to dine here out doors, parking was fairly easy to get. We were seated right away upon arriving, Service was extremely slow. A couple was seated a few min after us but somehow their drink order was taken before ours. Finally the server got to us, I ordered a Thai tea and I never got it. Which I was really upset about. After we finished our food we were brought out the check and left no tip due to poor service. The server came out to approach us about the no tip, we explained to him that we experienced poor service. With frustration and some attitude, He told us they were short staffed to let him know next time we plan to dine in if he forgets a drink. I understand it's very unfair to them to be working understaffed. I just hope they expressed their frustration with their manager and not us. We had no idea they were short staffed and we didn't appreciate the server approaching us the way he did.

I wanted to like this place; and it comes recommended by the Michelin bib Gourmand list. I visited with my sister (a major foodie who LOVES Thai food). We were both disappointed in the papaya salad, by both the portion and the complete lack of lime flavor. The ka prao kai krob was my favorite, she really liked the woki suki. The crispy pork with cabbage dish wasn't exceptional for us. Service was attentive and willing to move us to a different table away from the windows when they realized the shades didn't work, and the sun was shining in the eyes.

Michelin reviewed! I was pleasantly surprised that I stumbled over this place with my boo. They have a small parking lot that can hold a few cars, but mostly street parking. The service was super friendly and professional. They have an indoor and outdoor area for seating. The Thai food here is very refined and executed very well. They balance a lot of the flavors so it can seem a bit subtle compared to other Thai restaurants that you may have visited. Presentation and flavors are very clean! For appetizers, we got the Papaya Salad and White Sticky Rice. The Papaya Salad was very healthy and had a subdued saltiness that is different than what I'm used to. Still good though, but more balanced. It paired well with some White Sticky Rice and had a nice crunch from the cabbage. The Thai Beef Stew was amazing! The broth was so pure and clean! Super yummy and extremely tasty. The cuts of beef were plentiful, but had some cartilage fiber that may not be as palatable to some. I enjoyed it thoroughly though. It came with White Jasmine Rice which was perfect. The Khao Soi was bomb too! Super creamy and well made. Large pieces of chicken and plenty of noods! Always an excellent dish that more people need to know about! All in all, def one of my favorite Thai eats in Los Angeles!

Ordered take out through DoorDash and was impressed by the quality of the food. Loved the pad Thai, green curry, sticky rice and fresh rolls. Definitely recommend! It's going to be our go to spot for Thai take out.

While not a quiet evening out - it's busy and loud and very open-concept - The Thai Thing is an excellent experience. I found the food to be excellent, flavorful and beyond generous portions. I also enjoyed the Thai Limeonade, but it's definitely for the sour inclined. We were a group of four and not one complaint about food the whole evening, from carnivore to vegan. Gluten free diner.

Ordered delivery from The Thai Thing last night. We were both impressed. The food arrived quickly. Everything was hot and delicious. We ordered the Satay Chicken skewers, Gem Green Curry & Pad See Ew. All three were winners. I'll definitely be eating here again.

Here's what we ordered: Pork Belly, Pad Thai, and Pad See Ew. Food arrived on hot, and packaged so well. Ordered via UberEats; so can't say much about the specific service at the restaurant, but seeing as the food arrived on time, hot, and well packaged (I'd give the service a 10/10). The pork belly is 13/10 -- melts in your mouth, def worth an order! Pad See Ew & Pad Thai are so delicious and so well done. It's so flavorful. Don't forget to ask for Chili Flakes! They'll make you meal so much better!

This place had the best garlic noodles I've EVER HADDDD. But the pad Thai didn't smack as hard as we were hoping. My credentials are that I've eaten a lot of pad thai.

Stopped by here after visiting the LACMA. It was just a few minutes down the street. We waited about 20 minutes for a party of 5. This is a small little cute restaurant in the corner with not much around. It was decorated nicely and was very clean. We ordered 5 dishes to feed 5 people and we still had leftovers! The panag curry was a bit more watery/soupy than the usual curry I've had before. Also there was something super spicy in the Tom kha kai soup! I was sweating! My favorite part would be the shrimp in the shrimp fried rice it was so good and good size. The pad sew ew was delicious as well

Ambiance: They are strict with COVID vaccination cards and ID. It's a cozy space but the tables seemed to be spread out. The customer service is good. Taste test: Everything was tasty and had good flavor. Don't skip out on dessert if you come because the mango sticky rice was so good. It is on the sweeter end but worth a few bites. The portions were decent sizes.

Intro: Saw this was on the Michelin guide and we were craving some Thai food so it was a natural decision for us. The two of us arrived for lunch on a weekday and we got seated immediately. The interior was pretty plain and simple but the food was anything but. Food: We started with splitting a papaya salad. It was fresh, delicious, with a perfect amount of heat. It also had a nice helping of fish sauce which added that salty savory dimension without being too overpowering. Overall, a perfect start. For the main, we split a green curry. This was warm, homey, and also had a wonderful kick. I loved the richness and honestly wish we had ordered more rice. Tl;dr: Well-deserved Michelin guide Thai place. My personal rating: 8/10

Went to this place this evening, food was ok. In the end, when the waiter brought the bill, it was attached to a small wood board with the restaurants name on it. BUT the board was dirty and grimy. I was very shocked how filthy it was, which is disgusting. I brought this to the attention of the waiter. He said thank you for letting me know and we will clean it. We were close to the cash register and I watched him stack the board back at the cash register. I was close enough that I pointed this out to him and suggested that they spray the boards with dawn and wash with very hot water. I mentioned to the waiter that I would post this incident on yelp, and he said do what you have to do. SO I am doing it...I think this is a health hazard. This is how germs and disease spreads. YUK. The post is not about the food. It's about the grime‼‼‼‼‼

Damn, that was good. Way better than my "oh, there's a thai spot down the street, that'll probably do in a pinch" presumptions about the place... the food was great. The spot is cute. The employees were cool and nice. I'm definitely going back. Although, despige being a self-proclaimed 'spice freak', I forgot thai restaurants don't F around... I ordered my dish "spicy", but next time I'm going "medium"

I was trying to find a place to eat with a friend after LACMA and we spontaneously stumbled upon TTT. We were lucky enough to be let in (we were there around 30 minutes before it closed for the post-lunch pre-dinner break) and promised we'd eat and run so the friendly staff could catch a break. I got the Moo Nam Tok and it was amazing- I've never had roasted rice at any of the Thai places I've had in the past and it added such great depth and texture to the dish, which also had grilled pork, fish sauce, lime, cilantro, and cabbage. The portion wasn't huge and it was $16, but there was a lot of meat and I had enough for a late night snack that evening. After we sat down, we found out that it had been Michelin star nominated in the past, and I think for good reason.

Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant in SoCal. I would completely total my car if it meant I was within a 5 mile walking distance to this place.

Stopped here before visiting LACMA on a torrentially rainy day. The Thai beef stew was complex and delicious, somewhat reminiscent of Pho without the noodles. "My garlic noodles" were a solid take on the dish, the kids loved them. Finally we had crispy creamy lime chicken - fried chicken pieces with a creamy lime sauce. This was also enjoyable but nothing out of the ordinary. The staff were welcoming and the space was nice and airy. We'd come back for sure.

The food and service is consistently fresh and Delicious. Do yourself a favor and pay this place a visit.

Very average Thai food with not a ton to offer flavor wise. Drove out of the way to try this place and don't see myself driving out of the way again as opposed to trying another place. Chicken pad see ew was forgetful. Cashew chicken was on the bland side and could have used more garlic/umami flavor. Also about $7 more expensive total that most places.

Passed this spot a few times, loved the name so we gave it a try. The Garlic Noodles were highly tauted on social media so I ordered them, and they are amazing. The dumplings were a little dissappointing as they were bland and the texture was off. No bar, great service with indoor and outdoor seating. A little pricey but in line with this LA neighborhood. The ambiance was good, with nice music playing low. It's a little small but cozy. The service was polite with patient explanations if questions. However, no substitutions on many of the dishes. The food was outstanding! My fussy vegan niece, who has been to Thailand, ordered the yellow curry soup with vegetables added and was blown away. My other niece, who is taking a diet drug, didn't have much appetite. No problem. I took the rest of the crispy egg rolls home along with the rest of my Ka Prao Kai Krob (say that 3 times in a row if you can), and I will enjoy the leftovers.

cute place but ridiculously mid food for the price. service was good and food came out quick, but the food is definitely not as good as the other reviews make it out to be. would not recommend as there are many other thai places with much better food and much cheaper prices
