Great neighborhood bar. Good menu and reasonably priced. Be warned though, during football season this is a die hard Chiefs bar and it gets loud. Lots of TVs so they have all the games from every team each week

This is a poorly lit bar with pool tables and one barely functional arcade machine. The service on a Saturday night was non existent so I was unable to order anything, not that the method to order was particularly clear. The menu makes it appear that this is a great place to eat, but the dirty outdoor tables would indicate it's not. Now of you WANT to hang out at a dive bar, this place has everything a good dive bar should, but it's pretending to be something it's not. Thanks anyway.

Went in on a Sunday. This is a great sports bar but on chiefs game days it’s a KC chiefs watch party bar. Chiefs fans take up a good portion of inside and outside and the tvs will change to the chiefs game with sound on nearly every TV. Awesome servers, great vibe if you’re looking for a sports bar, some parking but you can always park in the side streets and walk down. I ordered a beer and the giant pretzel. It’s GIANT. Worth it. Nice and salty perfect for that Sunday hair of the dog. Highly recommend.

Just a heads up.... MENU CHANGE! the sliders no longer come with fries and the chicken sliders are not how they used to be. no mashed potatoes, no good breading, no spicy sauce. It's a very mediocre slider now for $5 a piece 😳 We used to love the food but will now only be coming for the frozes and patio.

I literally took a bite of the deserts and thought, 'Oh my gosh, this is the best thing I've ever tasted!' It's a small and cozy place and the beer was amazing! Definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area and want to grab some food and drinks.

Went here in the past and it was a good spot. Showed up here during business hours and they were just closing. Website hours match Google, but that isn't when they were closing. Please update your hours. If you don't know how to, give me your hours and I'll update them for you.

Bartender was great and very personable! I would come here for the poke nachos. They are fabulous. They have few new items that are delicious.

Good atmosphere, good food, fair prices, slow service. Met another family here to sit on the patio so kids can run around. It's a nice patio with a lot of room, seating, and TVs. All the food we ordered was actually really good. My biggest issue was that it was a Friday night during happy hour and there was only one bar tender serving drinks and taking orders. It took awhile but once the order was in, food came quick. Recommend the bang bang shrimp, chicken tenders, and buffalo califlower. Cheese curds are awesome too! Be aware the ranch has jalapeño but it isn't spicy. Was for the kids though.

Came in again for the 12pm championship game eagles vs Washington figured I could get a game in before the chief fan club came in for their game at 330... I was very very wrong I walked in at 11 to find half the restaurant reserved for the fan club which not that many of them were even there... it caused the fans of the playing teams to sit at the remaining 5 tables or the bar top which obviously filled up fast and the rest outside in the freezing cold rain... their game wasn't even for 4 hours! Took away an experience for all the other fans so disappointing this place used to be a fun hub for all fans and now it seems you can only come have a good time during football if you're a chief fan! I just hope they won't be back next season so this area can get this great sports bar back for football! Cut to the 12pm game ended and one of them got in the microphone and told everyone that if they weren't gonna watch the next game to close out their tabs and leave so they could get more people in...an employee did not say this a fan from the fan club did! What a way to make other customers feel unwelcome! Insane!

A laid back bar with a nice patio and games like corn hole, darts, jenga, etc. They also got TVs for live sports. Beer was good, decently priced. The only issue in my opinion is the parking, however you can park on the blocks if you don't mind walking for a few minutes.

What a disappointing adventure. We've been going to Thirsty Merchant for years as we live less than a mile away. We arrived to what the National Championship and were excited to watch one of their big screens... ordered during happy hour where the bartender recommended one of the beers we loved on happy hour list. When we signed our tab in the crazy loud environment our bill was more than twice it said it would be on the happy hour posting. So sad... after going there for the past 6+ years we won't be going back. Bummer!!!

The whole experience was not worth coming again. There are no servers so one has to wait in line. Be prepared to not be served. Once we got our food (wings pizza fries) the fries were cold and the wings did not look fresh out. Food is eh. No plates no napkins to add. There are better bars.

I can't believe I've lived across the street for all these years and have never walked in here! This place has many TVs for all your sports games, you're in luck if you're a chiefs fan because this is where all the fans go. They have great Sunday drink specials and other daily deals. Service was fast and friendly, security was on top of everything, they've got indoor and outdoor seating and a few pool tables. I love how dark it was inside and how the seating areas were arranged. 10/10 recommend!

This bar has been consistently great. Gotta love a place I can bring my dog with me to get a drink! My boy Larry and I both love Thirsty Merchant. I've had most of their drinks and I think my favorite is the Bat Country, reminds me of cherry limeade! The Diablo sliders are my go to but the ghost wings are also good. Highly suggest! Staff has always been welcoming and on it, bar is clean and has fun games to play, would highly suggest.

the chiefs fan club they have here sucks. it's ruined football sunday. they are loud, obnoxious, and take over all the seating even before their games are close. it makes watching any other game here unbearable

I honestly love this place, the food, the drinks, the vibes. I did come here one night this summer though and the bouncer BROKE MY ID IN HALF! Absolutely ridiculous. That really pissed me off and I haven't been back since lol. Nothing against the business though so I will still give 5 stars. But I should have been reimbursed or at least got a free drink for it!?

Okay I use to run bars and clubs for many years. Coming to this awesome sports bar. I have to say the food is good, people are great but three two people that stood out for me are Amanda and Alex the bartenders. They were so great, always smiling, friendly, and one person was very rude ans the way Alex handled it I was surprised... I recommend this place for sure and say hi to Amanda and Alex. They are a perfect addition to this bar

I have only been here for football games so I'm not sure what it's normally like but this place SUCKS!! The staff is so rude and the service is so slow. The speakers for the game don't work half the time.

This place has gone dowwwwnnn hillllll. Prices have gone up, portions and selection have gone down, service is awful and the bathroom was a disaster. Been overcharged after the fact more than once and this was the serving of chicken on my slider, which used to be my favorite thing to order cause they were such good sizes. Now it's literally a nugget. Such a bummer.

Went to watch a football game during happy hour. Ordered a beer. The bar tender, who had long hair and a beard, upselled a large. I directly asked him the price. He gave me a happy hour price. I paid the tab and tipped him. But then realized that he overcharged me. When I asked him about it he flippantly told me that the beer was not on happy hour. No acknowledgement of our prior conversation. He either lied to my face or gave me bad information then tried to cover his mistake. I will never step foot in this establishment again. If you do, make sure to check your tab. The bartender is not trustworthy and will overcharge you.

Awful just awful!!! the bartenders here are rude as it can get!!! Omg , we didn't get his name, but I'll describe him, short, thin built wanna be rocker, with a short feathered hair cut , he was wearing a baseball cap that evening. Shitty attitude from the moment we walked in and asked to put the current sports showing on one of the TV. We came here for that , as always. This is a pretty cool sports bar, where we always come because of ample tvs. We invite and meet our friends here always!! This is our spot for farewell parties for employees, weekend sports, all season etc... We have been a patrons here for over 25 years, from its original look, design, lay out and a totally friendly vibe. This one night, when we asked this RUDE BARTENDER to do that, he didn't do anything, ok. Next round , we asked again, he gave us dirty look , he kept giving me a dirty look ! I'm a f@#$% woman ! Finally the 3rd time, he did, we went on minding our business, chat, ordered, drank and now it comes to an end, ready to pay. The original female bartender who was helping us. Has told us about the beer special and had clocked out for her shift. but remain at the bar enjoying her time, chatting with others. The RUDE BARTENDER is now taking our bill and refused to give us the special price the female bartender has told us. He said angrily.. " oh no theres no special price and I won't believe you, I believe my team!" And added by saying..." why would I believe you?" Smh ! We told him to ask her as she is sitting right at the corner, he said.." hell yeah, I'll ask her! " she denied it too!! Can you believe this?! But ok, to hell with it right? This RUDE BARTENDER didn't stop there. He told us that he's been working there for 5 years ( we didn't asked) and he knows what is and what not , and to his surprise.. I told him, we've been coming here for over 25 years and I've never seen you! And never met anyone like you! ( his eyes wide opened) You do not offer apology, you do not listen, you had an attitude from the beginning, you're fighting with us almost and you just won't quit!!!! Instead of him being polite and confirm it , he goes off on us! He was totally angry! It was like a personal vendetta against us!!! Unbelievable!!! And with the hand gesture kinda like throwing us out , waving bye, oh my gosh! This establishment have been employing totally nasty bartenders with attitude! For the past 2 years, we've come across very feisty, verbal, trying to get physical with customers!!! I've witnessed it! Who's the owner of this place? We tried to call and ask for the manager or whoever, they hang up the phone! Ok, I can't give a 0 star, it doesn't allow it, but this is the last, very last experience , were never coming back here!!!!!

Very nice bar. The inside of the bar is nice they have booths and a pool table. They have a large selection on tap and very friendly bartender and servers as well. The wings were amazing and the nachos were a big portion. Everything was delicious and came out so fast. And they have happy hour and weekly deals everyday. I will definitely come back again.

The thirsty merchant offers a fun energetic atmosphere with food that's as impressive as it is flavorful. Every dish we tried was well-crafted, from the appetizers to the burgers to the pizza . But what truly elevated our experience was the service, especially Noah, the bar back who seemed to do be doing everything... and with a genuine passion. Whether he was assisting servers, engaging with guests, or keeping the bar running smoothly, the energy and dedication made our night memorable. He's a big part of why we'll be back.

Came here for an event last month. We were mostly on the patio which is nice for groups of people. They have cornhole out there and what looks like a little stage. There are also TVs all over which is not really my thing but it's fine if you're into watching sports. I played darts with my husband, which was really fun. They also have a pool table. The drinks were really good. I had like a mezcal margarita that was delicious. Had a couple of those. The bartenders were a little snarky, but it was fine. I ordered the fish tacos which came with black beans and I just wanted to know if the beans had any meat in them because sometimes places cook them with pork and I get very sick when I eat pork. Like it wasn't a big ask but one of the bartenders was practically rolling his eyes and mumbling under his breath about it. The tacos were yummy though. The fish was blackened and had a nice spicy sauce on them. Overall it was a good experience. But I don't know that i'd go out of my way to return.

I like this place. I've been 3 times. Most recently I ordered a beer and fried pickles. My bartender helped me select the pickles and she did a great job of helping me decide between the deviled eggs and pickles--the best I've ever had. The pickles actually paired well with my $5 beer. It has a great bar with a variety of entertainment, and the food is good. I love the TV screens for UFC nights! It's sort of communal sitting outside. Customer service is normal. The bar and kitchen staff are straightforward. All food is ordered at the bar.

It's a bar... so, if you want a place with decent food and drink options as well as a lot of TVs so you can hang with your pals as long as you like... this place works. But, if you want table service, go somewhere else. You seat yourself, order at the bar and get your own water Just depends what you want. I had the buffalo salad wedge and it was good. Also loved my Corona beers especially because the second one was only $2.

This place is perfect for a Sunday lunch, hang out. Bernie is the nicest guy. Best employee! So accommodating and professional. Will definitely come back.

I came to Thirsty Merchant to watch my college football team (go buffs!) and Noah went above and beyond to get it on the TV! I appreciate it so much! This place is always the best!

love this place but what's going on...I've been a loyal patron for years and this has always been my local go-to spot for a quick beer on a weekday, on weekends with friends or spending all day sundays here. The place has no doubt changed a lot in the past 6 months and up until this point its all been for the better! They got rid of a male bartender who has constantly been extremely rude and angry (plus!) and brought in some amazing younger ladies that have sincerely given it its life back. They are accommodating, fast, happy to answer any questions (without the attitude of the male bartenders) and great to chat with especially on the slower days. I hate to admit I used to enjoy having a male bartender to shoot the sh*t with but I will now only come in when my new girls are on. Now for the tough part... there was word this plave was welcoming a large group of Chiefs fans after Petes shut down a couple months ago. Fine! The more the merrier. right? But after coming here and attempting my usual thirsty sundays the place seems to have been taken over by them. They are getting reserved tables, a microphone? and free reign over this place... It was significantly harder to find a seats especially inside (they took over the inside and the bar) but when I finally got a chair all the way outside there was a young woman who seemed to be taking orders (they never did this before) but figured hey why not. I ordered a round of drinks for my group along with food and my friend put his card down. She took quite awhile to flag down and when we did order the drinks took over 20 mins to get to us with no foam on the beers and melted ice as if they had been sitting for a bit. My friends beers just simply never came and I eventually had to go to the bar and grab them. Should have just ordered at the bar in the first place so thats my own fault. I will say the bartender was super apologetic and then carried my beers outside herself. (I visit her on fridays) The food order we placed originally just never came out and I had to check on that as well. Closing out our tab became as issue when we went to the bar to close and then had to track down the waitress for our psychial card back. ugh. Don't get me wrong these things aren't the biggest deal and things happen on a busy day I GET IT. Im not a karen. But with that being said I really wish football never changed and this influx of non regular football fans weren't in the mix. it seems its still early in the season for things to change but until then I will either be getting there early to sit near the bar or having to go elsewhere. I will still be here during the week and on the weekends when its normal to visit but football has seriously let me down. P.S $25 for an order of 12 wings is quite outrageous considering their happy hour prices are $10.

Stopped by here to meet a meet up with a buddy before going to the movies. Has a full bar, pool tables, foosball, darts and video games. There is seating inside at the bar or booths and tables outside. I sat at the bar and ordered a spicy Margarita. The Bartender was cool, provided some recommendations and served up my cocktail fairly quick. It was good, I prefer a little bit more kick but I enjoyed it. I had the chance to briefly watch every game while I waited, there are about 18 TV screens inside. Enjoyed my time

Ive been to this bar a few times now and I have been going back more often now. Always get the best service from Jessie and Alex - the best bartenders of all time! They are incredibly attentive and make me feel like I've been coming in for years. The music is always on point! Me and my friends will definitely be coming back Fridays for the vibes!

Doorman outrageously aggressive for absolutely no reason. Tried to start a fight as I left because he thought I left a door open letting AC outside (even though I didn't). What pathetic small minded person have they hired here? Having spent $40 on a beer and wings, he should be thanking me for coming. NOT GOING BACK.

The place is a great hangout, or so we thought. I always try to support local businesses. I went with a group. The establishment has lots of games. The bartenders make some really good drinks but their personalities are stiff. Other than both bartenders doing the exact same thing, during 2 different shifts, they both tried to up sell from a regular to a double. We decided to test the bartenders on their conversation skills. So everytime we ordered we'd send a male, then female etc. Once every single person from our party said "no thank you" individually the bartenders stood cold. There was no more conversation. One would have thought we took money outta their pockets. If you go here, may I suggest that no one expects salutations/greetings from the boring bartenders. Other than that, we had fun. BTW we still tipped the bartenders well. Hopefully they'll spend their tips on Bartender Lessons on how to communicate with customers. Good bartenders will continue to bring customers back in. I will not spend my money in this place again.

Super dope staff and vibes, went there for a birthday will probably be back often. Food was super good didnt try anything i didnt like, but i LOVED the fries pickles!!

Noah is the best! Great service even when it's busy! Everything on the menu is good and there are plenty of TVs for games. Just get there early for the Dodgers.

I love this bar! They have great drinks, food and service. I've come here twice to catch up with some friends and both times have been super fun. They have plenty of drink specials to keep the drinks flowing and even have a self serve water dispenser so you'll never have to wait at the bar. The only down side is you have to walk up to the bar to order drinks and food (they only have servers to bring your food and clear the table) but the line moves pretty fast. Another thing to keep in mind is the parking isn't the best. The lot is super small and tight so I would highly recommend Uber or Lyft to save you the struggle of looking for parking for 20+ mins. I didn't take any pictures of our food or drinks but it's definitely worth it give this place a shot.

Went during happy hour, parking was full but we managed to squeeze in! The drinks were great, double shot Paloma was refreshing and a nice way to end the work week. Service was quick and friendly; server was very accommodating and cleared plates out quickly! Garlic Buffalo wings were my favorite this time but their pizzas are always great! It was a fun space to sit and chat, music choices were jazzy and the sports fans were appeased!

This is one of my go to happy hour spots. It's a mom & pop place that has good service, nice ambiance and tasty pub grub. It's also a good spot for groups (the patio is my favorite).

I used to love going here with my small dog to watch football on the patio but in the past couple of years they made up a fake "la county law" to banish us to the parking lot with only one screen under a tent. They're the only place I've encountered enforcing this "law". It's a bummer.

Just started going here and so far love it. Alex (bartender) is freakin RAD. Great music, great beer, good food, sports galore! Again, she couldn't have been more friendly. I am newer to the area so it is very nice when bartenders engage their customers, and Alex 1000% did this. Gonna try football there on the weekend soon!

Used to have a great happy hour. It was 7 days a week, buy one get a double for $2 more. 24/7. They changed it to specific hours and drinks now. Bums me out. I won't be going here as much anymore because of the new happy hour rules. I like the restaurant and the food. I considered myself a regular, but I was a regular because of their great prices and accessibility. Since that's gone, I definitely won't be attending as much.

The menu is super intriguing and had me in a daze at first because I wanted to try everything, it looked so good. I tried to Diablo Sliders & fries, I was so amazed by the taste, texture, and the side of buffalo ranch it's served with adds even more pleasure when eating. I went in on a Sunday during the NFL games so it was super busy of course, I would recommend getting there early to get a table if you go on that day and it's all bar service which seems hectic at first but the bartenders make sure to be as quick and efficient as possible. The ambiance is pretty cool, I've never been on a more chill day but on football Sunday it was pretty fun to be around. Might go back this Sunday who knows! Amazing establishment whether you go for the drinks, sports, outdoor patio, or the amazing food I'd say it's worth it.

Im just really perplexed. I wanted this place to be 5 stars and maybe a new happy hour location. Apparently, the drinks were happy hour but the wings alone were 20$. Food ok, ambience looked great! The service is what kills it. Every time you want to order something you have to go to the bar and wait in line with 5 other people. I wanted to close tab and the Bartendar wouldn't even entertain it, until he addressed everyone else waiting in line and took their drink and food orders. And he literally started making their drinks before he would address us. Interesting concept but horrible service. I don't blame the guy if he was the only one working. Unfortunately the Well for this Thursday Merchant has run Dry. I really wanted to like the place too. Strange concept if there are no waiters. For every drink and food item, head back to the bar. I think they missed the concept of happy hour.

The PERFECT neighborhood sports bar. Food and beer selection is next-level and management is fantastic (they are also so amazing in accommodating TV requests). Day or night you are guaranteed to have a great time.

Been to this bar a couple times and the food is always on par! Super fresh salads, solid appetizers and the beer selection is great. The outdoor patios are nice and there's a ton of TVs. It can get pretty busy on game nights. Dogs and kids are welcome there and it's a fun environment with the games. The bartenders can be a bit intimidating and stand offish at times however. But overall great bar and restaurant!

Great place except for the bartender with a beard. He's so grumpy and miserable to customers that it's almost funny. It'd be funny on a show or in a movie, for sure. But he's like that in real life. One time I heard him with a person next to me. The customer asked him about a drink on the menu: "What's a Blue Hawaii?" The bearded bartender responded without missing a beat, straight faced and deadpan: "It's a Blue Hawaii." So just pretend you're in a show or movie when you're there.

Low-key tavern, kind of disorganized, dank inside but nice outdoor patio, decent drinks and eats.

The food is always good with enormous portions. Great place to watch sports and get together with friends. Not the most affordable but happy hour specials can be good. The main downside is it's so popular that parking can be tough, but the neighborhood is all right.

This is our go-to bar. They have great appetizers and a nice happy hour. You order and the bar. Take your number to any table. They have darts, pool and other games all around. Great bar!!!

I love coming here for Sports. This is the reason why I came here for the biggest USA vs Mexico game for 2022. Justin (the Manager) refused to put the audio for the game despite the fact we asked guests if it was okay. This bar never minded putting audio outside for all other soccer games but when Mexico vs USA played in Spanish audio, the manager refused

Manager/ bartender (WWF wrestler looking, thin, blonde woman) was very rude to our kids/ to us about our kids. Nobody else was bothered by them but her. She was also rude to her security guard for not "watching" us. Crowd was super cool- Im talking like big biker guys swooning over my 2yo baby girl. Food was pretty good. Manager just killed the vibe. Guess she didn't smell what The Rock was cooking.

I had a blast at Trivia night with some friends here. Of all places to get an amazing Rose wine, the Thirsty Merchant is a diamond in the rough. The food is really, really good and there's lots to do when you drink and dine. I can't wait to go back for trivia as my friends and I are a tad competitive and we just have a blast when we are together. The prices are great (especially the Happy Hour), but the parking can be a little tricky so, if you can grab a spot on the street, you won't have to worry backing out of the lot. There's a huge patio if you prefer to eat and drink outside, but there's lots to do inside like pool, darts, and many tvs.

We went here for a friend's birthday - it was 2 for 1 drinks which is a good deal but their bartender (short, bald guy with beard/goatee) was absolutely miserable. He acted like it was an inconvenience to be ordering drinks from him, he was beyond rude. They also started kicking everyone out at 1am even though we had full drinks and they didn't close until 2am. Even with this terrible experience, we tried to go here for a football game on Saturday morning (their hours on Google and Yelp say they open at 9am) and they were closed. The employee who happened to be there (also rude) said they don't open until 11am, which currently isn't listed anywhere. We'll never be coming back here again.

I'm super disappointed with this place. I went there a few times. And was super happy to find a nice local bar. This last Friday went there with my fiancé. We got super over charged. A bald bartender with a long beard served us. He wasn't super friendly to start with. And every time I had to order something, he made me feel like he was doing us a favor to serve us. But that wasn't what really upset me. We were getting one drink for regular price and the second for $2. That was the special that day.So basically you can order double drink for an extra $2. My fiancé was ordering beer that one pint was priced at $7. So with the special they would cost $9. Guess how much we've got charged for each of those double beer?! $22!!!! Not only we've got ripped off with those up charges but he also included 20% of the gratuity that said on the bill, LARGE PARTIES. When we were only 2 people. We almost double tip him. He offer giving us the tip back in cash. We declined. But I didn't realized we've got super over charged for those beers until one day later. When I was talking to a friend about the situation. And he new the prices of the beer and showed me the menu online. We trying calling to talk to a manager today, Sunday. Apparently the manager will only be there next Thursday. So be aware if you go there not to get ripped of at a local neighborhood bar. Where you should be taken care off, instead of getting robbed
