The positives - The staff at this hotel was absolutely amazing! They were all so kind and helpful. The room was a bit small, but it was beautiful and modern. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is located right next to the theater showing The Book of Mormon and just a few steps from Broadway. The negatives - No matter what temperature I put the thermostat on, it was still an ice box in there. I guess better than being too hot! The refrigerator really is not usable unless you take a snack out, which is pretty pricey. There is a vent in the bathroom, but it doesn't seem to work, so there's no ventilation in there. Finally, the TV. It is embedded in the mirror, which seems like a clever idea, but you can only see the TV well when the room is completely dark. With all that said, I would definitely come back to this hotel in the future!

If it is your first time in New York, a great location and hotel to get your rest! We booked this unsure about the other reviews, but are so glad we went through with it. The first night our room was a little hot and the Ac wasn’t blowing as well as it should. Emilio at the front desk upgraded our room and got us switched over. He was so helpful and efficient. The rooms were clean, enough room for your suitcases, and great views. The elevators do take a little extra time as there are only two but that’s NYC! We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again as the location, staff, and rooms are top notch.

This hotel served it's purpose well. Staff was super nice, the room was very clean and the location was perfect. I am a woman travelling alone and I felt very comfortable with the location and the hotel. I needed something reasonably priced and didn't want to spend the money for a nicer hotel. For subway access from JFK and around the city it was perfect. Near enough to Times Square to walk to shows, but not right in the middle of the craziness. It was also a hot week and the AC worked great. For all of that, it deserves 4+ stars. But know you are getting a super small room - New York style!!! The decor was also on the dark side. If price it not an issue, I would stay somewhere with bigger rooms, but I would also stay here again with no hesitation.

The customer service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and provided personalized attention. The location couldn't have been better. As expected, the room was a standard NYC size, which was perfectly fine for us. We had a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel!

Google
I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The rooms were beautifully maintained—clean, modern, and very comfortable. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service from the staff. A special shoutout to Guest Service Agent Nilika Singh and Guest Service Manager Doria Lee (Dee) for going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Their professionalism and warmth truly made a difference. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to Times Square and Central Park. Plus, there's a lovely park right in front of the property, and hotel guests receive discounted rates, which was a great bonus. Highly recommend this hotel for both the service and the prime location. Can't wait to come back!

An absolute disgrace — this hotel should not be part of the Hyatt group!!! I checked in today at The Time New York by Hyatt, expecting a high level of service and quality. What I found instead was unacceptable. As I began unpacking, I saw a huge cockroach crawling on the wall. I looked around and realized the room was filthy — floors, furniture, bathroom. Absolutely not up to any basic standard of cleanliness (see photos). What truly horrified me was the state of the air conditioning filter: covered in dust, dirt, and likely dangerous bacteria. This is not just gross — it’s a serious health hazard. Leaving filters in that condition is reckless and irresponsible. I returned to the reception to complain. Not even a sign of surprise. They acted as if this was completely normal and offered me a different room. Second room: dirty again. Third room: same story. Even the manager was dismissive, as if it’s part of the experience here. This hotel charged me $350 a night to sleep in a place dirtier than any hostel I’ve ever seen. And the worst part? Not even the slightest accountability. Avoid this place at all costs. A total failure in hospitality and a stain on the Hyatt name.

Google
My stay itself was comfortable — the room was clean and spacious. However, I accidentally left my Kindle under the pillow. I called the hotel the same evening we checked out, and again the next morning, to report it. Housekeeping told me that the person who cleaned our room “didn’t find anything.” I called a third time and was told the same thing — and that the room was now occupied, so they wouldn’t be able to check again until the current guest checked out. I’m 100% certain that’s where I left it. I was reading before bed and slipped it under the pillow. It’s extremely frustrating and makes me question the honesty of the housekeeping staff. A Kindle doesn’t just vanish, especially when it was reported so quickly. I know it’s my responsibility to double-check and make sure I have all my belongings before leaving — and I take responsiblity of that. But I also wish the staff had been more honest Unfortunately, this experience completely soured my stay. I will not be a returning customer.

The Time is perfectly situated on the edge of Times Square, away from the mega-craziness. W. 49th Street is fairly quiet and next door to the Eugene O'Neill Theatre (Book of Mormon) and across the street from the Ambassador Theatre (Chicago). Super convenient if you're in town to see a show or three. If arriving by train, it's just a quick jaunt from the Moynihan Train Hall/Penn Station on the C or E subway to the 50th Street Station (exit at the SW corner of 49th and 8th) and a half-block walk to the hotel. Rooms are modern and fairly spacious for NYC. The restaurant downstairs, Sarafina, has good breakfast options for reasonable prices. That said there are plenty of eating options in the area! Besides the C and E, it's only a half-block walk to catch the 1, 2, N, R, Q, or W subways so it's very easy to get around the city. Don't miss the clock behind the reception desk. If it is operating, it will mesmerize you!

Yelp
The hotel check-in lobby is on the second floor, and there's no reception on the ground floor, sometimes the security guy in near the front door. The lobby bar is not open on Mondays and Sundays, and there's a hangout area right behind the reception desk and next to the bar. The king bed room is still very small, although the view isn't too bad when staying on a higher floor and facing the street.

Yelp
This is a cute, modern hotel in an extremely convenient Manhattan location. The rooms are small, but nice. The mirror doubles as the TV, which sounds cool but in reality it's not so cool. You still see a lot of the mirror and there is too much glare. You basically have to watch TV at night in the dark to get a good picture. The Time is now a part of the Hyatt family of hotels, meaning you can use Hyatt rewards to stay there and the staff is very friendly. There is no free breakfast. The bar does a wine and cheese late afternoon, but that is paid for through the "resort fee". If Hyatt was to remove the resort fee and replace the TVs, then I would be eager to go back.

Rob S.

Yelp
Left phone charger in the room post check out. Asked the guy at the front desk if I could go back in to get it. Response: "No, you should be more responsible" Assholes stole my charger...

Yelp
This room reminds me of hostels that I stayed at while I was backpacking though Europe in my 20s. It definitely doesn't live up to the standards of the Hyatt brand. There is also a $30 resort fee every night that doesn't really provide any benefits. There is a free cheese and wine hour, but other hotel chains provide that without tacking on a resort fee. Why not just add it into the daily rate? When it comes to the hotel itself, the petite room is TINY. It only has enough room for a double bed and a small desk, and you're tripping over the furniture as you try to maneuver around the room. The bathroom is tiny as well, and you can't even fully open the door because the door handle hits the wall. A larger person will need to turn their body to get around the door and to the toilet. The shower head is a rain shower, but it is mounted SO close to the wall that you need to be almost up against it to take a shower. Be careful not to bump into the faucet handles - ouch! I love rain shower heads, but I do not love this one. This one was very annoying to use. The hotel room is in general disrepair. I'm pretty sure the AC broke so they decided to install a super loud window AC unit and continue renting it to hotel guests? The caulk in the bathroom is cracked and missing too. The only outlet in the bathroom doesn't work. I also question the overall cleanliness of the room - there were several items missing from the minibar upon checkin and a small piece of trash left in the bathroom. If they overlooked those things (especially the minibar), what did they actually clean? Oh, and the mini refrigerator is completely filled with things to purchase, so there's no space to store leftovers or any other personal stuff. That's incredibly annoying, especially with such a tiny room to begin with. The hallways and elevators of the hotel do not have AC. That's very noticeable on a day where it's in the 90s outside. The elevators are also very small and slow. There is a severe lack of outlets in this room. There are none by the bed that are usable (the only outlet is used up by the wall AC unit). The bathroom has one outlet but it doesn't work. There is one outlet by the desk that works. I guess I'm glad I'm traveling by myself, otherwise all these annoyances would be even worse. I'm already bumping into all the duties in this tiny room without worrying about bumping into another person! 100% would not recommend the double bed petite room. Book somewhere else, anywhere else. This hotel needs to get its act together and, at the very least, don't put in a super loud AC unit and continue to charge $200+ a night (plus $30 resort fee) for a tiny room that is reminiscent of a hostel.

Yelp
I don't know why this hotel has bad reviews. The hotel is modern and clean, and everyone was so kind. I've been here with my two sons. It is a a good location too. I will definitely visit again next time I visit around here. I highly recommend it !

Yelp
The hotel was located in a very central area the fixtures were modern and spacious for New York.

Yelp
Stayed here 04/09/2023. The Time New York is a newly-acquired Hyatt hotel in Times Square. I am a Globalist and this was a cash stay. TLDR: Rooms (suites) are large for New York, rooms are in need of maintenance, the Wi-Fi is TERRIBLE, rooms were not clean, but it's pretty cheap. Front desk staff are nice but you can tell they aren't familiar with the Hyatt system yet. Breakfast is full service in Serafina on the ground floor but it was lackluster. I was in a King Suite Deluxe (top tier suite below penthouse). Room number was 912? I think their 06 and 12 series are suites. I had a lot of issues with the room: 1. Door handle was loose 2. Thermostats falling off the walls 3. Bedroom blinds broken 4. Bedroom closet door broken 5. Shower knob fell off 6. Sticky stains and hairs left on the desk 7. Sink stopper was broken and wouldn't drain 8. Dust everywhere 9. Wi-Fi was absolutely awful. I'm talking 0.19 Mb/s down. Overall don't stay here if you need to get any work done. It's fine to use as a home base to explore New York and it's quite cheap, but you get what you pay for. I would give it another try if they actually housekeep and fix up the rooms.

Yelp
I stayed here during a business trip. I booked a queen sized room with my company's booking platform. When I checked in, they offered an upgrade to a King sized room since I was staying for a week. Staff was quick to respond to repairs as there was some problems with the bathroom. The interior of the hotel was great from the furnishings to the bathroom. The giant round mirror was a great touch. Based on my experience, hotels in times square tend to be more spacious than other areas in Manhattan and this was no exception. During my stay, only one of the two elevators was functioning. It was an ongoing issues for months apparently. The wait time was brutal around check-out time, especially on the weekend... The complimentary breakfast was plain. It is only good if you want to grab some fruits to go. I don't mind returnirng in the future as long as the elevator issue is fixed.

Yelp
This was easily the worse hotel stay I have had in the last 10 years. Hyatt should be ashamed. The POS system was not working, it took 45min to check in. The elevators were not operational, broken for my whole stay. The room was janky, the only positives I have are the friendly staff and location.

Dia B.

Yelp
The furniture is old. The headboard literally peels into the bed. There are stains in the carpet, along with the shower hardware peeling and chipping. They just need to upgrade their items very badly, and not act shocked when people comment on this issue.

Yelp
I am not sure why the ratings for this hotel are not higher. My husband and I stayed here during our weekend trip to NYC and we had a great experience. The hotel is clean, the staff is very friendly, and the location is great. Sure the bathroom is small and there are fees/night, but I see that getting more common all around, not just this hotel. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I always believed New York is a different world regarding hotels. Rooms tends to be smaller, service subpar many times. Many hotels of 4 stars at NYC, would be 3stars in many other cities. Having in consideration that, after visiting multiple times NYC, I think The Time, it's close to a 4 start in NYC. Rooms are bigger than other hotels, usually clean and the breakfast and some members of the service are actually a solid 5 start service. But I must said, location of this hotel is amazing. Hard to beat. And yes, I would come back. Solid choice if you need to go to a Hyatt Hotel in NYC.

Yelp
Long story short Small, overpriced, and staff is alittle too flirty and nosey for me. If you're attracted to someone at least wait until they check out because now my whole stay feels uncomfortable. The pictures of course made the rooms look bigger online, but when in New York it's better to check everything out in person anyways.

Yelp
This hotel is $$ and located right next to the time square! Personally it's a steal especially if you split with roomie. There are two elevators and stairway. There's also breakfast offered for an additional fee. Personally, you can opt out of the breakfast because it's mostly pastries, muffins and cereal. No protein was found, lol. We opted for the king size bed for more room. The room is very clean and cozy and I didn't feel squished. It's a modern vibe: half closed bathrooms and the mirror as a television! The closet is a glass case in the corner of the room. There's plenty of outlets for working and charging as well. The door is digitalized so instead of putting a sign on the door that you don't want room serviced you'll just tap the screen and it will light up. Each room has a doorbell and you can opt to keep that quiet with a touch of the button. I will say that it's somewhat loud. There's construction battling the heater and the walls are pretty thin. Personally, it didn't bother me and I would stay here again!

Yelp
Definitely the location is a plus for this place. Front desk was helpful and pleasant however it depends on who is on shift. Housekeeping daily is a plus. Continental breakfast is ok u can do an upgrade if you choose to for a fee. 2 elevators are quite slow.during rush hour. Noise can be heard in the room from the halls. Lack of hooks in room and also counter space makes organizing a challenge. Water pressure isn't the best on the 12th floor. Hit and miss on requesting towels, robes etc...

Yelp
Nice hotel. I wasn't thrilled our first NYC outing with my son was overnight here, I preferred like Soho but we were in this area and I figured to check it out. Check in was easy, I didn't really get to mention it was for my son's birthday plus first outing for him (we're from long island) we had a suite but would've been cool for an upgrade but it was fine. My mom was upgraded which she was thrilled about lol, Not to a suite, just a bigger bed/room. The location was amazing, bed was super comfy, if there was noise it didn't bother us. If anything the quiet is worse :P we stayed the night before Thanksgiving and had Thanksgiving morning in the restaurant. Our son enjoyed the hot cocoa, night before we enjoyed the area. Seriously my son acted like he had seen NYC before, he was such a pro in the crazy busy times square that I'm still shocked. Anyway parking was very reasonable thru the hotel. Only taking off a star not because no upgrade lol, this is NYC we've gotten used to not expecting that. The couch in the room was uncomfortable, I mean it had seen better days for sure. The bathroom I swear whoever designs hotels I really wanna know who is telling them to do either the open bathroom or barely any door off the bedroom? Who are these people who enjoy this? Lol. Anyway I should probably more blame my hubs for stinking up the entire bedroom but he tried to shut the sliding door in bathroom lol. :P hotels should have a nice closed off bathroom lol. Not a sliding door that you close then randomly opens and you're on the toilet. Anyway my hubs is probably gonna strangle me for this review :P I also was not a fan of the tv/mirror thing. It was only a night so eh. I'd still recommend this hotel despite all that. Great location and there is probably a lot worse, plus it was reasonably priced.

Yelp
Leaving 4 stars due to the way management rectified the situation with my check in. I visited the city a couple of weeks ago for a much needed spa day after finals (which were brutal but I digress) and pre-booked with the Time as the location looked good, the rooms nice, and I always love doing business with Hyatt properties. I arrived about an hour before check in, and they told me that I would have to wait for a room because they didn't have any clean. This wasn't a problem initially -- until 3 different parties came in after me, shortly after me, each one getting a key and checked into a room. I could feel myself becoming visibly annoyed with the situation (driving 3 hours into the city didn't help) and I was wondering, is it because I'm not a man in a suit? Why is everyone getting their rooms but I'm being pushed off? I guess I must have worn it all over my face because the manager called me over and got me checked in immediately once I said I was waiting. Management was super kind, so grateful for them. The rooms were nice and clean, albeit small with the bathroom being particularly so... however, this wasn't a huge deal, but if you have a lot of stuff, it might be an issue for you. I had a nice stay overall, the doorman and security were really friendly as well. I'd definitely recommend this hotel. PS -- their wifi isn't the best ... I ended up having to use my hot spot my entire stay which was annoying, but I've had worse problems. Everything else was fine. MGMT, thank you for having me!

Yelp
Great view of a brick wall best of all they take $100 a night for incidentals guess what you can't spend this money on?? Incidentals in the bar and restaurant. So hundreds of dollars end up as a loan to the hotel. What a scam. They say once you check out maybe in 7 days you will see a refund. So if you use a debit card kiss your money GOODBYE for a period of time and pay additional for your incidentals they already collected for. Since Hyatt puts thier name on this place I am done staying at any Hyatt brands. This is a total rip off and very unfair. BTW they tell you nothing ad they smile and take your monet that you can't use it In the places incidentals are incurred. Many hotels in NYC do not consider this one!!!

Yelp
Dirty, dingy, small. There were stains on the lounge and desk chair. It looked like no one had swept or dusted in...weeks? Months? For example, this toothpick under my desk? I don't use those. The TV doesn't have Netflix/Hulu capability...just cable...like we're cavemen! You can barely turnaround in the shower. The bathroom outlets didn't work. Some of the lamps didn't either - it seemed like maybe a breaker needed reset, who knows. No extra pillows or blankets. Cheap toiletries. The only upside to this place is that it might actually give you a little taste of what living in the city would feel like because this hotel is kinda like staying at a friends apartment - not really anything more than that.
google avatar

Yelp
The rooms are a good size, but the furnishing are sparse are very minimal. There is no storage drawers in the rooms, so you will practically living out of a suitcase for anything you don't hang up. Bathrooms are small, but functional. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. This is basically a "no thrills" hotel in one of the most convenient parts of the Theatre District and Times Square. 49th is one of the quieter streets, so the low noise levels made it easier to sleep. Would definitely stay here again, because this hotel is clean, convenient and reasonably priced.
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
We stayed at this Hyatt hotel in New York and we were not disappointed. The hotel is literally across the Ambassador Theater which was convenient. The room was in the back away from the street so it was quiet so if you're a light sleeper like myself I highly recommend asking for a room away from busy 49th street. The room also had blackout shades so we were able to sleep in. We were able to walk to several restaurants, shows, The Top of the Rock and 5th ave and do a little shopping. The staff are all amazing. This company did a great job hiring genuine, good people. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Yelp
Not worth more than $120. First impression- dark hair everywhere- table, floor. See pix. Shower gel-1/4 full, had to squeeze, body lotion 1/3, checked shampoo- 1/2 (better!). Super noisy location, garbage was collected after midnight. Could not sleep. Dark and scary place. People who work there seem nice but this does not help overall experience.

Yelp
Very friendly staff .... Perfect for a stay in New York ... close to Broadway shows and time square ... had c a wonderful stay there ... will definitely stay there again
google avatar

Yelp
Old, run down, not clean. Smells of pot in every floor. Seriously, expensive and not worth the money. Marijuana smoking seems to be totally ok in the elevators, lobby and rooms.

Zahra A.

Yelp
Customer service was 5/5. The staff was especially helpful and courteous. Nilka was superb and her attention to detail and ensuring our comfort was beyond our expectations. Dee, was friendly, helpful and made our stay comfortable. Rooms were clean and overall staff were welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
Imagine if you checked into a mid-tier Hyatt after the apocalypse...that would be the most accurate way to capture our experience there. We paid for the king deluxe suite, which is 500 sq ft. It worked for our family of five, with three small kids using the pull-out sleeper. Nothing fancy here... like the ford/toyota of hotels. Our backsplash for the bed was just broken in half, handles falling off the drawers, you have to get into the shower to turn the shower on, which makes for a frosty opener, the sliding glass doors on closets continuously bumped into the metal drawers...supporting that there was zero thought put into concept or design. All that aside, had the service been there- it probably would have been a better experience. The @hyatt concierge doesn't work; no one answers the phone (although the dude can be found at the desk texting on his phone or spending hours in the bathroom texting, as my husband discovered). No one answers the texts there. It is impossible to get service. Some rocket scientist cleaned our room but didn't refresh with towels, so it was super fun to try and give my kids showers and dry them off with hand towels. The fridge in the room is broken, no coffee maker unless you ask for it- which, for a 7-10 am continental breakfast, might make sense to east coasters, but since we are on West Coast time, we never were able to wake up in time to go downstairs.

Yelp
Once you access the lobby on the second floor, you escape the crowded rumbling that is New York City and is greeted with infused water refreshments and a serene atmosphere. The hotel decor is best described as upscale contemporary. You will immediately notice the wall art of many mini analog clocks that forms a larger digital clock. From the lounge, you can see but not hear the rustling of busy New Yorker and it's confused tourists. Right across, you can see the broadway line to Chicago which reminds you the prime location this hotel is at. You're a walk away from Broadway, comedy shows, and Time Square. The hotel is not big. Each floor houses under ten rooms and each room is smaller than most suburban hotels. As expected of NYC. Inside, my wife was impressed with the rose petals decor on the bed. It was our anniversary, and I mentioned that to the hotel when I booked it. Later, guest services gifted us a fruit plate to congratulate us along with our luggage. Service was better than I expected. Meanwhile, I was impressed with the large circular mirror that is also a TV. The mirror complements the interior design of the room and the tv's subtle presence is very welcoming. I found the price very reasonable for NYC. Despite not having a pool, The Times New York makes up for it with their free complementary services. Have a light breakfast while planning your morning adventure. Leave with a boost of of caffeine. Or if you have evening plans, enjoy cheeses and wine while waiting on your uber from their upstair lounge. The hotel understands you're here for the city so their services orients toward that need. In addition, the hotel offers access to a gym and music entertainment which we didn't partake. Definitely a place I will consider returning to for my next NYC excursion.

Yelp
Talk about a catfish! This place looked so nice online and we even paid for an "upgraded room". It is so close to Time Square/Broadway but everything in the room was old, broken and dingy. The two ladies we came in contact with at the front were rude and snippy. They are severely understaffed- concierge and housekeeping did not pick up our call at 7pm. We needed towels because the ones provided were paperthin and they only give one per person. The "free" continental breakfast is nothing to write home about. If it were truly free... watch out for the 30 dollars "facility" fee. You can't get towels but sure charge me 30 dollars a day.... With tax! They also charge 4 dollars to hold our luggage which I have never heard of before. Isn't this part of the facility fees?! Truly just awful. I know New York's standard is pretty low but for the amount of money spent this was egregious.

Yelp
Terrible hotel. Definitely should be a 2 star hotel and not a 4 star. First of all, mostly all hotels allow an early check in which I wanted to pay extra for, but concierge was rude and not attentive and just kept saying it's not ready which I understood in cases where it gets busy. I was waiting in the lobby for almost 4 hours and no one came up to me until I had to go ask if it was ready and they said yes when they knew I was waiting with a bunch of my suitcases. The worst out of it all is that I had insulin that has to be stored in a refrigerator. The mini fridge was not working and when I called they said they'd send someone over to fix it, I waited an hour and no one showed up. Called again and they said to bring it to them and they'll store it, and when I did they were kinda rude and explained that a "mini fridge is not supposed to be cold" like I've never been to a hotel before or used a refrigerator. Rooms are tiny, carpets in the rooms and hallways are dirty, views are terrible, bathroom water is bad. Breakfast is not good, there is no protein and it's all paper plates and utensils. All in all a 0/10 experience and I don't recommend anyone staying. However I have to say that Gilbert and the bellman were nice and helpful.

Yelp
The hotel looked nice on the website but the room was dingy and not very clean. There was a used bar of soap in the shower from the prior customer. The concierge told me with a smile that they would take care of this and would make it up to me. When I came back at the end of the day, nothing had been done!! The used bar of soap from the prior guest was still there, the bed unmade, towels on the floor, trash not emptied, all after I was told that he would take care of it! A lot of money for a filthy room and someone at the front desk who simply LIES to you to make you go away. It looks like someone tried to make this a nice hotel at some point. The bed was very comfortable, the staff was nice. It had been awhile since I traveled and I was looking forward to a nice hotel stay. It was a bit disappointing for sure. I

Yelp
THE ABSOLUTE WORSE!!!! Not even a 1 star. If possible NEGATIVE. Front desk not helpful, very short. My husband and son arrived about 11am. Hotel said no rooms available until 3pm. My son is not feeling well from flight. They are sitting there patiently waiting until a room becomes available. Tried to speak to manager and she was rude and not helpful. Hotel staff clearly sees my son is laying there feeling miserable. My son and husband still sitting there patiently waiting. I as mom decide to call to speak to manager. When transferred to her she did not even introduce herself as manager nor did she say her name. I had to ask her for her name which is Darlene. From there I spoke with her asking for her help because my son has been feeling so sick just waiting in the lobby. She had NO SYMPATHY. I as an adult seeing any child even adult sick would try to help in any way possible. She told me she clearly explained to my husband that check in is not until 3pm. She told me that she offered him the ONLY ONE ROOM AVAILABLE which was a petite and my husband declined. She sarcastically said if a room becomes available she would let him know. That was a COMPLETE LIE. My husband was never given an option. Darlene nor staff did NOTHING to help. It is 1:30pm and they still say that not ONE single room is yet to be available. How is that even possible?!?!?! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO EMPATHY. No one ESPECIALLY with a family should NEVER NEVER use this hotel or company if that is how they train their staff or even accepts the way their staff acts. HORRIBLE

Yelp
Rooms are on the smaller side for families with kids, and it's all minimalist, reception is not on the ground floor but the first floor, so very weird to walk into the hotel and not see anyone. Rooms have just a fridge, no kettle, coffee or tea, but breakfast was included, but was also just cold food, yogurt, cereal, fruit cups, bread, muffins, coffee, tea and juice. But all the staff were really friendly and kind, especially the guys at the front door, they were amazing, helped us get cabs, opened doors and advised us on our travels, special shout out to Miguel, he's the man.

Yelp
Cute spot not right in the middle of the fray in Midtown. Hotel is nicely styled and I like that the restaurants in the first floor and bar in the second floor are well removed from the room floors. We've stayed here a few times last minute and the staff has always been very accommodating and helpful. Keep a hold on your vouchers for AM coffee, if you don't have it they'll still charge you (I was checking out and left the voucher at the concierge and they still charged me, woof). The rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Bathrooms are small and a bit tight- even for us who are pretty small! Serafina does tackle room service which is nice but can be a little on the slow side. The food is good and the wine selection nice as well.

Yelp
The Time is a bit of a sanctuary in the middle of the loudest and craziest part of NYC. It's entrance is right next to the theater showing The Book of Mormon, and across the street from Cabaret. With that said, once you walk through their doors, your world becomes quieter and infinitely more comfortable. Something i've been noticing more of, in the NYC boutique hotel scene, are more amenities like a wine reception and/or a free breakfast included in room price. The Time offers both. We arrived just in time for the reception, hosted in their small, but cozy bar. There was a cheese and fruit platter, pita wedges and white or red wine. Staff hosts and bartender were lovely. When heading out that night, it was like an assault on the senses, a reminder of where we were. With prepared expectation, we soldiered forth to what turned out to be a FANTASTIC Friday night prohibition jazz variety show at The Secret Room! Coming back to The Time was like walking back into a warm hug. Our quiet and super clean room was extremely cozy, and had everything we needed, including a blow dryer! A delightful surprise the next morning, was the complimentary breakfast! We went down for coffee, expecting a table filled with only carbs; bagels, muffins etc...but the breakfast spread turned out to include big platters of sliced ham, turkey and cheese, hard boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt! Nice! Overall, excellent stay in the middle of Times Square!

Yelp
Terrible, absolutely terrible. The concierge was incredibly rude and belittling each time I spoke to her, even telling me I don't understand how airports work despite traveling weekly for my job all over the world. The room was so small you couldn't even maneuver without hitting something. This hotel was recommended to me by my company and I am immediately removing it from our list of recommendations for employees, it was terrible. Beautiful place, terrible environment.

Yelp
Upon trying to check in horrible accommodation for a customer that comes to New York weekly. This is the first time I tried this property. Charged for storage fees for bags (cash only). I called and asked before a I can to check in early because I had a long flight coming in and they claimed it shouldn't have been an issue. This hotel is not right, it is a bitter taste in my mouth as a first time customer. Front desk stated that there was a room available and I requested to speak to the manager and said that there was no room available.

Yelp
Had a nice stay. This is a boutique hotel in Time Square. You definitely get the New York feel in this contemporary hotel. The room is clean. I liked the lighting in the room, it is artsy, with the little blue men inside the ball lamp. The staff were helpful and friendly. It is located next to a theater in time square, so be prepared to hear some noises from the road. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay

Yelp
Great hotel! Staff was friendly, location was great, room was clean, and decor was beautiful! We booked The Time last minute after a terrible experience at another NY hotel. We loved this cozy room and the restaurant downstairs was great! The hidden tv in the mirror was also a nice touch! The man at the front desk was so nice and welcoming. The cleaning staff was always extremely friendly and our room was always in pristine condition. When we checked out they even offered to store our luggage for free. Overall, my husband and I did not know what to expect, but after staying here we will definitely be back!

Yelp
*** Time Hotel is "hit or miss" but a good deal for $200/nt. *** Stayed here for a long three night weekend in September 2013. Fri night I stayed in Room 517 - tiny, shower but no bath, no view, unexcuseable poor tv reception and a toilet back-up, ugh! (2-star) Sat and Sun nights stay in Room 1210 - king bed room, full bath, partial view, much better wall mounted tv, mini-bar, nice. (4-star) Concierge got tix for final game of US Open. Go Serena! (4-star) Walking distance to everywhere - Times Square, 5th Avenue, (retail mecca), Restaurant Row, Central Park, et al. (5-star) Inc Lounge offers 1/2 off all martinis 7-11pm daily. (4-star) *** Moral of this story? Reserve a king bed with a view. ***

Yelp
For midtown Manhattan this is a great location! BARNONE! Rodrigo was a fantastic BELLMAN..make sure you take care of the hands that take care of you. This is a super modernized hotel hidden, quaint and quiet in plain sight ! The rooms are fantastic for a minimalist reminded me so much of Japan space saving wise. Be warned that they overstock very minute fridges and if you request it there is an additional $25.00 fee which is pointless if you don't use it? Terrible space for kids! Okay for infant just request a crib and the pack n play will be delivered to your room. The only drawback here is there is no parking but it's New York, grab a driver at the doorway and like that your off!

Yelp
This is most definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. It is grossly misrepresented in website images. My room was adequate however not clean. I found debris alongside the bed left by a previous guest. The day after checking out, my daughter realized she left AirPods behind. We were able to track them to a location. I immediately reported the loss to the hotel and was contacted by the manager. As requested I submitted images of the AirPods location and was told it was the laundry service and the manager would investigate and get back to me. That's where the story ended. No return calls, no return email. This solidified my impression of the hotel's customer service- deplorable! Save yourself the disappointment- do NOT stay here.

Yelp
My stay at this place was beautiful and one of the best stays I've had in New York. The room was really spacious and well decorated. The receptionist and everyone at the concierge were really helpful and always greeted me with a warm smile. There are also a lot of perks that come with staying here: you get 2 cups of free coffee or tea every day and there are events later in the evening for wine and cheese or open bar at night. The gym is open 24 seven for you which is also really great. I really love the location as it is in Midtown and very near to Times Square. I'll definitely be returning again and highly recommend this hotel for anyone. Pricewise, it is pretty average compared to other hotels in this area in New York.

Yelp
It's unfortunate that this one time unique hotel is lacking horribly. Rooms are very very small, the "amenities" that you pay for are not explained or disclosed until after you get a bill. The bar they have is closed by 10 but yet open to staff through out the night to sit and party while you walk by but can't go in?? Crazy ... there is no coffee but yet a continental breakfast available to some guests but not all especially if they are not made aware at the time of registration. Cleanliness is lacking throughout .... Just a shame. Spend your money elsewhere...

Yelp
We stayed here with our two children Oct. 2021. The Time has a great location and the rooms are generally nice and attractive (although oddly there isn't a towel rack for hand towels). We stayed in a suite with a pull-out couch for our kids. Unfortunately, while we were there, there was only one working elevator. Another person staying there made a comment, making it sound like it had been months with only one working elevator. It made getting in and out tedious and tough at times, especially when it was time to leave. We had a couple problems that really frustrated us. First, one our daughter has a blanket from when she was a baby that is beloved and special. She had left it on the fold out bed, and only two days into our trip for whatever reason, housekeeping stripped the sheets and took away the blanket. This blanket has made it through Mexico, Spain, and Italy, the but The Time housekeeper managed to lose it on the 2nd day. We realize she shouldn't have left it on the bed, but still, the housekeeper should have been more careful. We kept asking for them to look for it, and the staff said they would, but it didn't seem like anyone took it seriously. Our daughter was heartbroken. Also, we arranged to check out an hour later (1pm instead of 12pm). They said this was fine, but our keys wouldn't work when we tried to open the room at 12:50pm. We had to wait in line at the front desk (there was always a line - hard to get help). Rodrigio said he would get our suitcases for us, which was really nice, although hard for a family of four that had been in NYC for a week. And again, there was only one working elevator. We don't know what happened, but it took Rodrigo 35 minutes to get our luggage. Our Uber driver was waiting for us (and we had to pay extra), but more importantly, we almost missed our flight. No one at the front desk could locate Rodrigio. He did have all of our stuff, and we appreciated that he tried to help us, but this really stressed us out and created problems with our travel. We would have preferred to get our suitcases ourselves. It's a cute place with a great location, but really frustrating, and didn't need to be.

Yelp
On the whole, a very nice little hotel. Our 10th floor room was very quiet and comfortable, and nicely appointed. I assume all the electronics worked; we didn't use either TV. Lots of pillows and towels, and strong heat and AC. Awesome shower with tons of hot water and a dual shower-head; this is a lifesaver on a trip. And a really perfect location for anything in midtown. That said, in some aspects, the room was designed for style over function. Like, no towel bars in the bathroom because, I assume, they break up the sleek design. Some notes for management: The bedside lights are useless for reading because they can't be adjusted to point at a book. And the modern design lights are already breaking. Get some suction cup hooks or SOMETHING to hang up stuff in the bathroom. Please let that one bellboy know he needs to learn to read people better. Stop talking so much. Don't try to engage someone who is obviously hung over and just coming down at 8am to get some coffee. 50 Yi's generally don't want a 25yo's recommendations for single malt Scotch or movie theaters. His job is to serve; not entertain. I know there's a Stumptown stand at the hotel, but you should have a coffeemaker in the room; even Motel 6 does. And that said, thanks for a nice stay!

Yelp
If I could give them negative stars I would. I booked this room after my friend thinking I would have the same experience as She did but was surprised by a racist manager named Louie who has targeted guest on numerous different occasions I have learned. He called the police and threatened to have my guest thrown out for a completely paid for room. Harassed me even when there was 8 people left in the room which I was told the capacity is 50! Called Monday to speak to the general manager named Ms Cohen who refused to return calls or emails. Also left numerous messages for Zac the manager who has failed as well. Then they had the audacity to charge my card an additional $500 citing the furniture was moved around. I have reached out to consult a lawyer and will be getting info on how to file a suit through small claims court. They need to be stopped with their bullying tactics. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!!!!

Yelp
While the accommodations are okay, the front desk staff are not the warmest or friendliest I have encountered. By far the worst part of my experience is they offered to mail items for me when I was leaving and I expressed how important it was they get mailed and they swore they would sent them. Among the items I was sending was a letter to a sick friend, they never got them. They never will. No one received anything... It is really a gut punch to promise something that was deeply expressed and they literally swore they would and then just casually tossed them away. I can never again have the opportunity to write another letter and I deeply deeply regret giving them what would have been my last letter to someone I loved. All I can say to you is please do better. A simple failed request can truly have such a devastating consequences.

Yelp
NYC hotels are pricier than average, that being said you get what you paid for. Definitely not a 4 star hotel like they claim to be. The lobby is small and the reception almost a joke. I don't like when hotels use the term "boutique hotel" to try to justify lack of amenities. Only 2 elevators for guests and staff which is extremely inconvenient. You can easily wait 5-10 min for the elevator and you might need to share it with the cleaning crew carrying garbage or dirty laundry. We had breakfast at their restaurant only once as it was mediocre. Bed was comfortable, not very noise considering it's location. Close to the metro making it convenient to move around the city.
