San Francisco Bay Area Restaurant and Bar Closures to Know in May 2025 | Eater SF

"A Marina Chestnut Street gastropub that operated for 16 years closed for good on Sunday, May 25. No reason was given for the closure, but the business’s farewell Instagram post mentioned an upcoming project in the same location in the near future." - Paolo Bicchieri

The Tipsy Pig Review - Cow Hollow - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"You’ve finally gotten everyone to agree to meet for an afternoon drink, but no one can decide where to go. If you’re anywhere close to the Marina, the answer is usually Tipsy Pig. There’s somehow always a table open on the patio out back, the menu has solid bar food options, and you may even make friends with like-minded groups (i.e. other people who want to get drunk in the middle of the day)." - Taylor Abrams

Tipsy Pig is a great spot to hang out with friends over drinks rather than food. It has a lively atmosphere with loud music, which I enjoy. If you like crowded and energetic places, this is the perfect place to be. The service is good, and the ambiance is nice. They offer frozen pizzas along with free popcorn and lemonade.

Google
My fiance and I had drinks here. Server was Dani? Something w a D. Absolutely inappropriate. We had two drinks and asked to tab out. She asked my fiance RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME "Awww.... can't you stay for another? Send her home." Ya think you're going to get a tip? Haha! Wait staff is trashy. Place smells musty. Terrible. UPDATE: Per the comment from the manager below, obviously professionalism and accountability is lacking..... I'm a woman posting a legit review.

Stopped by tonight and had the best drinks and best service !!! Shout out to Jenna and Delanie !!!

Google
Walked in they made it seem like my boxer wasn't welcome. first time there, they could have let me know that I could order and go on to there outside patio that I didn't know they had. my dog is for my anxiety and is amazing. They wouldn’t apologize when I called from outside when I seen the patio, or sorry come back in.

Not what I expected! This is a sports bar! I had fun and I have been wanting to visit for a long time and I'm glad I did. The cocktail waitresses are so cute and they walk around to check on you often. The free popcorn machine was so awesome. My only gripe is how loud the music was.

Google
Wait staff is gross and make fools of themselves flirting w patrons. It was comical. First time there and my friends and I won't be back. Drinks suck. Not west O status.

Google
Decent place. Solid. Nothing very unique about the place but that's not what it's going for. Good atmosphere. Clean. Prices are reasonable. I would be at four and a half Stars if Google let me. Five stars is reserved for a place that surprises or goes above and beyond.

Google
I went in on a Monday night around 6pm. Looked like there was some patrons or regulars, but a bit over than 50% of the seating was open. The bartender was very attentive and proactive when it came to our drinks and tabs. However, my only comment against this place would be that the martini prices weren’t posted on their table menus. Overall, the drink quality and service was great, but I wish I would’ve been able to look at all of the drink prices before the check.

Yelp
The cheesecake martini was a delightful dessert drink to have when we stopped by here after dinner next door at Charred. The bartender was nice but not the most timely, thought it was a Monday night so I won't fault her too much there. I wish she used a smaller glass because as you can see in the picture, it looks like I drank a good portion of my drink when she first delivered it to me. I liked the vibe of the place but the bathroom was a little chilly haha.

Yelp
If you want a $15 Moscow mule, where they added an extra charge for ginger beer then you'll love this place. Miss the old owners

Yelp
The perfect location in west Omaha, very fun and friendly staff, really enjoy their Christmas popup displays and Menus!

Yelp
Love the tipsy! Great vibes and fun drink menu and the ladies who run the bar know what's up!! Love them, love this spot that's great for a happy hour pop in or late nights.

Yelp
This place is amazing! So inclusive and treats everyone with the upmost respect. The bar tenders are not only fun but their drinks are amazing. The vibe here is perfect whether you want to chill in their comfy seats or hang out at the bar playing Keno. Can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
I'm from CA I have never experienced as much prejudice and racism until I arrived here at this bar. The bartender SAM had an attitude towards me and showed complete favoritism as she showed two male men how to beat a gambling game they offer at the bar in favor for "tipping" her cash. I'm visiting out of town and have plenty of money to spend. Instead I'm left feeling unwelcome, disregarded and just awful as a customer. I will not be returning and I would not recommend this place unless you fall under the demographics. Also they serve beer to go as the customers mention they have a long ride home ...nice !

Yelp
Stopped in on a Wednesday to hang out and have some cocktails with a friend. Very classy little place, the bartender was very friendly and knew her drinks. Prices are reasonable and the cocktails tasty. I hope to be back soon for happy hour.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place for a late afternoon cool drink. I tried their margarita on happy hour & was pleasantly surprised at their mixology skills! There was none of that pre-mixed stuff. This was all hand crafted & tasty!!! I highly recommend trying one of their specialty drinks! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I've been going to the tipsy pig for awhile now. Love environment and the people who work there especially if laurel working. Ten out of ten service.

Yelp
Nice easy atmosphere and a great central location. Great spot for happy hour! Close to a couple of restaurants near by.

Yelp
So when my boyfriend and I arrived it seemed like there was a company party going on so we kind of made out way to the front door and he mumbled "let's go it's a company party " and as soon as someone heard that they said omg no it's not and everyone said please join us and so we did!!! The bartender was super nice and friendly! We are on a road trip and she gave us insights on the city! The froze and the frozen mojito were delicious! If we are ever back in town we would definitely be back

Brandon K.

Yelp
unbelievable how loud the music was. do not expect to be able to think or talk or concentrate, the music will not allow you to do so. at one point I looked at my date and said, "does it seem like anyone is listening to the music?" It would switch from hard rap to pop to 80s yacht music and it just seemed to get louder and louder. would not recommend to a friend and would definitely never come back, unless I wanted to sit and not think

Yelp
Met my wife and her friends at the Tipsy Pig 3/4/22. It was sad to see that they are no longer a dog friendly bar ("health department shut them down"). On top of that they were out of Mezcal and missing one ingredient for an espresso martini. Which is no big deal, but the margaritas we got instead were repulsive. Not to mention, one was spilled on a member of our group with zero apology. Our waitress had a terrible attitude and had no desire to be there. Safe to say this place has gone downhill fast...No wonder this place has changed names and management several times. Better off closing the doors for good IMO.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place - cute name, fun decor, totally grammable. The drinks were fine - not great but not bad. However, one of the members of our party didn't have an ID, and left without any sort of scene at all. It should be noted that several of the younger women at our table were not asked for any sort of ID. After our friend left, the bartender (who is apparently the owner) felt the need to come over to our table to lecture us about how to treat bar staff and that alcohol is a privilege, not a right. This went on for several minutes and made all of us deeply uncomfortable, especially with his claims that our friend had been rude, despite the fact that we had all witnessed the opposite of this happening. Once he finished lecturing us, he went outside for a cigarette, leaving the bar unattended. It completely ruined what had been shaping up to be a fun night. We all left as soon as we could cash out and were extremely disappointed, as we thought we had found a home for our weekly happy hour. I'm not interested in being condescended to while having a drink with friends.

Yelp
Cute little cocktail bar in the up and coming Sterling Park area. Wondered down here after lunch at Charred. I got a Strawberry Collins. It was good, not great. Inside decor is very cute and well styled. Small outdoor patio as well.

Yelp
I thought this place was still Trios...unfortunately not. But the name was cute so I decided to give it a go. The craft cocktail selection is really lacking but I found one that sounded decent. It wasn't. I thought it might have been a fluke so I ordered a different drink. Somehow it was worse than the first! I feel that 2 drinks is more than enough chances from me. Even at happy hour prices, the drinks were a rip off, because they were both very weak and didn't have a good flavor. I would definitely not recommend this place and will not be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
My margarita was served in the wrong style of glass. It was high and narrow. That was inexcusable. And it wasn't any good either. My friend's Coke was flat. She eventually got a replacement Coke from a can and it was fine. The best thing about the place was the free popcorn. BFD. I really liked Trio but this place has a totally different crowd and decor. I'd say it is the hard drinking, bar fly, tatted-up crowd. Good luck with that as I won't be back.

Yelp
I'm having trouble understanding how a relatively new bar,Tipsy Pig , thinks they can make it when their hours are posted as 11-close, or on yelp, and-11-11 on their site and no one is there. No message on the machine. Bad business planning.Cool bar, has potential. Never going to make it doing business this way. We came here a week or so ago. We were the only ones there. Young, inexperienced bar tenderer, but would be an excellent, cool place.
google avatar

Yelp
Great happy hour special on mules but the say they come in a copper cup but the don't. This place might if got me as a return guest but not now. The owner or worker felt they needed to private message me telling me I'm wrong and to get my facts straight! So rude and unprofessional !
google avatar

Nan D.

Yelp
Charles is amazing! He had us try a cocoa bourbon that he made by himself, it was unique and delicious! The amber waves on the menu with Gin instead of Tequila is my favorite drink! Definitely recommend this new bar! West Omaha definitely need a high quality cocktail bar!
google avatar

Sondra Z.

Yelp
Wow! What an improvement over Trio! Better seating, cleaner vision, and really tasty cocktails. I'm a fan of the Old Fashioned. It's a week before grand opening and they already seem to have things running smoothly. I'll be back!

Yelp
Honestly kinda bummed that this place somewhat sucks. Went here on a Thursday night and the place is dead which understandable, it just opened. The bartender was nice but had "never bartended before". When you're paying over $10 a drink your employees should be somewhat trained. And if not trained to not say that. They don't have a menu so have fun ordering. Places like this should have a menu regardless of where they are in their management changes. Since they don't serve food you would expect to go here and get a cute, creative, fancy drink however without a menu the experience is pretty non existent. HOWEVER the bartender did offer up a refreshing raspberry mojito. Which was great. Got the bill and it was $20 for a shot of chartreuse and my drink. I don't know, we might give it another shot but probably not.

Sherri E.

Yelp
The tipsy pig is a nice place a little loud we stopped by to have an old fashion before our dinner reservation we had just their house bourbon bullet they were very good probably the best I've ever had but... they are now charging $14 a drink so needless to say when we got our tab of $70 we were a little taken back. I called them the next day and said there has to be a mistake there's no way that those drinks could be $14 apiece and she said yes ma'am alcohol went up 50% so therefore it's being passed off onto the consumer. so needless to say as good as they are we will not be returning as a customer. I understand as a business owner things have come gone up considerably but to pass that large of an increase on to your customers is not good business.

Yelp
A unique find in a part of town that doesn't have an upscale bar. The color scheme inside the restaurant is to be desired, absolutey loved the interior decorating. This is a perfect spot to meet one or a small group of people for drinks. This establishment doesn't offer food at this time which I hope will change in the future. I enjoyed the spicy margarita as well as the other seasonal cocktails on the menu. Only a matter of time until we go back to try their fall drinks. Welcome to the nieghborhood!

Max H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Great bartenders. Live music. Laurel is awesome. They also have a great wine special on Wednesday's.

Mia N.

Yelp
This is my first time coming to the tipsy pig! The inside of the place was super cute and aesthetically pleasing, great for photos. Melanie was amazing! She was amazing at making conversations and gave me a ton of fun new shot recommendations, she honestly made the whole experience for me. Definitely will be coming back as long as Melanie is there, or as long as the rest of the staff is as great and welcoming as her!!

Yelp
Went to the Tipsy Pig for a Saturday evening drink thinking it might be a low key place with chill vibes, however, around 8 or so the whole place became very loud and rowdy, which was unexpected. The drink was good, however, a little over priced IMO.

Stuart J.

Yelp
Mel was great. This is such a nice place to go. She will take care of you. Nice gal. Great Keno.
google avatar

Josh H.

Yelp
Overpriced basic drinks. Nothing special on the menu. Very mediocre. Both drinks were $8 a piece and tasted horrible. Wanted to give it a try since it's a new place in a nice area but definitely not worth it. Better bars with cheaper prices for just drinks

Yelp
I have been anxiously awaiting the reveal and opening of The Tipsy Pig and tonight was met with utter disappointment. We came in for a night cap at 12:30 and was told last call had been called and we offered to leave and I wish we would have. Don't bother giving your time or dollars to this place - go somewhere you are greeted and encouraged to stay...
google avatar

Yelp
This is a most welcome addition to the cocktail scene in Omaha! It's incredibly refreshing to have proper cocktails in west Omaha and the staff are both welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend the "back at it Brucie" it's one the best drinks I've ever had!
google avatar

Deborah K.

Yelp
We went to get a cocktail at Trios (never tried trios before) and saw that it was now the Tipsy Pig. Loved the new name and thought we would give it a whirl. First off unimpressed with the interior. Odd choices put together randomly. But we thought it was a Cosy atmosphere and sat down to order. Waitress who greeted us was disingaged. We ordered drinks and thought they were very average at best. Will not return.
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by The Tipsy Pig tonight at a little after 10pm...website and Facebook page say they are open until 11. We could see patrons inside yet the doors were locked! Guess they don't want to earn new business. Good luck!
google avatar

Kristin E.

Yelp
This is a great happy hour bar. Quick and friendly service. Favorite beers. They have champagne on tap!!! The cocktails and mixed drinks are fabulous. Nice patio. Happy hour pricing is great. I love the ambiance and decor. Pink seating and lighted ceiling fixture look great.
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
This place was great. All the cocktails are fantastic! We got a Manhattan and a dirty martini and both were great. The bartender was very knowledgeable and we had a great night!!
google avatar

Shauna V.

Yelp
I love this bar! They have a great spirit selection and the theme is well executed. I went with a few of my friends but it would also make a good date night spot or somewhere for after-dinner cocktails. The space is also very clean. We received excellent service! Plus it's pet friendly! What more could you want?
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
My wife and I love this place! The drinks are amazing and the bartender is very attentive and friendly. The cocktails and beer are ice cold and the wife loves the champagne and wine on tap. If you're expecting the pretentious environment from the previous owners you may be disappointed but everyone else will love it!
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
I would give The Tipsy Pig 5 stars on their wide variety of alcohols alone. In addition, the bartender/manager who served me had a lot of skill. I asked for a more complicated cocktail and he nailed it! Will definitely return for craft cocktails, or simply a glass of wine after work. They even have prosecco on tap!

Annie K.

Yelp
I really enjoyed The Tipsy Pig!! I loved the name so I just had to check it out. The environment was fun and I loved the pink themed bar. The drinks were awesome as well. I got the chocolate martini and the Bloody Mary. They were both awesome. The Bloody Mary's vodka is infused for an even better flavor and it was amazing as well. I was super impressed. I wish that the tipsy pig was located in an area like blackstone or benson because I think it would get a lot more business around more bars because the environment is very young and hip.
