The Toast Craft Kitchen & Cocktails

First time here today. I entered and waited to be seated; no host to greet me. When welcomed I asked to be seated in the bar. It was their ‘Happy Hour.’ The TVs were showing the ALCS game, and a college FBS game matching UofMiami vs Louisville. Seating was nice, and the restaurant is clean; spacious; well lit; and not very loud. Being new I took my time ordering. For starters I selected their whole lump crab cakes with an aioli sauce; and the Friday Special fish fry. One question regarding substitutions. I was offered a salad in place of the french fries, and chose their Caesar salad. The crab cakes arrived. They were of a good size, and had a very good crisp. The sauce was alright; having a spicy flavor. I would have loved a more creamy tartar like sauce. Of my meal the crab cakes stole the show. The entree and salad arrived. The salad was ok. A bit on the dry side as it could have used a touch more dressing. As for the fried Cod… they were nice; had a slight crisp; but were small. The tartar sauce was peculiar in taste. It was homemade, and I think I detected some dill. I took the last piece, fries, and coleslaw home as leftovers. My check before taxes was $38.00. I may return to try some other menu items, but charging $20 for a fish fry one can do better. I didn’t order a cocktail. Unable to drink for personal reasons. They seem reasonably priced, and good quality. Before leaving I visited the men’s room. It’s fairly clean. The urinal was out of order. As for the toilet, the toilet paper roll 🧻 dispenser was awkward; and a challenge to get tissue from. Come visit and see for yourself. With the more pleasant weather they have a patio in front. Parking is available in the mall setting.

Baklava cheesecake I’m going to stop here so you can read that again Never have I ever seen Baklava cheesecake available on a menu. This is currently a seasonal item but I really hope they make it a standard item I recently moved to surprise so now I’m learning and eating my way through my new neighborhood Small, local and family owned this place made my heart smile The servers and bartenders know their customers by name and they also know their usual orders The back and forth banter as we sat next to a couple and the husband was trying a new sandwich made me giggle I got the chop salad and I was pretty excited about it as I only know one other restaurant that serves it The salmon chop salad was wonderful and a great order if you’re looking for something light and delicious We also got the Mediterranean chicken wrap. Great flavor and the pita bread was wonderful We also ordered fries although they were so yummy we devoured them before I got a picture (rookie mistake) but since I plan on going back I’ll send an update We didn’t get any cocktails but they looked really good You all know I’m a sucker for an espresso martini and I was informed this place makes a mean one Let me close by again reminding you that they have baklava cheesecake You could go and just order this while doing a happy dance

Good local spot. Stopped in here for dinner and enjoyed the tacos (better with tzatziki sauce). The hummus was a little different but good. I've heard the desserts are great and will be back to try.

WOW! The Toast is the place to be in Surprise, AZ. I went with my friend Jameen for a late lunch. For appetizers, we ordered goat cheese balls and coconut shrimp. The goat cheese balls were so good, cheesy, and tasty. I'm not a big fan of coconut, but I did enjoy the coconut shrimp. It wasn't heavily loaded with coconut and the shrimp was tender and good. I ordered an espresso martini. Sean, who is the bartender but was our server since we came after the lunch rush, asked if I wanted it with more of a coffee taste or creamy. I chose creamy, and it was yummy delicious. My friend Jameen and I each ordered a sandwich. Jameen ordered The French, I ordered The Armenian. Jameen really liked her sandwich. I liked The Armenian. It was chicken, humus, a sauce I can't remember folded in a pita bread. Okay, I have to admit, we ordered three desserts! Coconut Creme Pie, Limoncello Tiramisu, and Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding. All three were amazing. My favorite though was the bread pudding. We took some of the food home. The ambiance was really nice but relaxed. It felt like a cozy bistro. Sean was amazing! He answered all our questions, told us about the dishes and what made them so good, and brought everything out quickly. Jameen is visiting from California but we'll definitely be back. I'm looking forward to trying more cocktails.

My wife and I stopped in for a drink and to check out the spot since we live nearby. Outdoor patio is nice, roomy dining room and a good amount of room at the bar all caught my attention. Right away I noticed their daily special as well as their set specials on certain days such as the Friday fish fry. This was all I needed to see to know they are making quality meals. We had a reservation at Cooper's Hawk that evening but after getting to know the bartender, enjoying a unique take on an Old Fashioned, and getting a look at the menu we decided to cancel and we had ZERO regrets. We had their Goat Cheese Balls which are as good as everyone says they are. We didn't see the reviews until we ordered them and they didn't disappoint. I've never had anything quite like them. I had the special that night, Chicken Piccata, and my wife had the Ravioli. Both were fantastic and underscored our decision to cancel on the CH reservation. Bottom line for us, we didn't have to wait an extra 30 minutes to be seated even if we had a reservation and I'm not going to say anything on the CH menu couldn't be bested by the crew at Toast Craft Kitchen. We will be back again to check out more, especially the Limoncello Tiramisu that they were sold out of by the time we were able to request it. It appears their deserts are next level based on a few other reviews. This place is more personable and more personality than a lot of the larger chain restaurants out there and the food/drinks are just as good if not better. Do yourself a favor and make an effort to stop in.

This was a nice little find. They do their best to create a good atmosphere in a shopping center location. The service is very good, friendly, and attentive. We ordered fried calamari 4.5/5, Cubano sandwich 4/5, Greek salad 4/5, side if rosemary fries 4.5/5, and baklava cheesecake 4.5/5. Reasonably priced wines. Full bar.

Outstanding and tasty, well prepared, great quality food as always! Reliably delicious in a comfortable atmosphere. We will be back, often.

Do yourself a favor and try to lamb burger it has a tzatziki garlic sauce on it and the meat was juicy and flavorful and not to overbearing or gamey One of the best lamb burgers I've ever had The queen had the chicken kabob said it was okay I tried it it wasn't the best I've ever had and it wasn't the worst I've ever had but it was doable

I am in love with this place! A friend brought us here recently, and I had the Moroccan Lamb Bolognese: it tasted just like my Italian mother used to make! Absolutely delicious, just perfect! The ragu sauce had just the perfect tomato flavor, crisp, not mushy or muted. What a treat! We swapped tastes, of course, and everything was really excellent. For dessert we split the bread pudding, which was to die for. Portions are generous, too! Bella, our server, was excellent as well, and took great care of us. This is the kind of place that I'd like to live within walking distance of, and I'd be there every night! Unpretentious, sort of hidden in a strip mall, but the quality, pride, and attention to detail are obvious. Try it, you'll love it!

First time here and it was excellent! It was a work team lunch meeting. It's easy to find with gps. :-) There's a nice patio. But we sat inside. It's July! The dining area is small but it wasn't crowded. Patrick is a fantastic server and was super attentive. He was bringing water as we were getting seated. I typically look at the menu in advance when going anywhere new. I'm glad I was undecided because when he gave us the lunch specials, I made up my mind immediately. Appetizers were ordered for the table. I chose their chicken wrap and fries for my meal. Everything was delicious! The restroom was clean! That's always important for me. It was great experience!

My husband and I dined here for lunch. We shared two dishes. The Beef French Dip was a 5: very tender beef with melted Swiss cheese on a fresh roll. The flatbread with goat cheese, arugula and prosciutto was a 3. Our side of rosemary fries had good flavor but were a bit soggy. Kristen our server was cheerful and helpful. She split our order in two and gave us extra plates and napkins. This restaurant is a bit expensive for lunch. It would be abetter restaurant for dinner.

This restaurant is right next door to the salon I go to. My husband reached out to me asking, "Can you bring food home so we don't have to cook tonight?" I've been to Toast 2-3 times for brunch but never tried dinner, so it was conveniently screaming at me online to order takeout, which I did. I got my husband the Steak and fries entree which he enjoyed tremendously. I really liked my lamb bolognese which was really filling, but my husband also finished mine since I was slow eating and he "wanted just a bite but ended up finishing it." It's very flavorful and I would definitely order that again, or the lamb burger next time since I was stumped on which I wanted more. The fried goat cheese balls covered in honey and pistachios are the best thing we ordered tonight and it was an appetizer, but I could picture ordering 3 of these apps and eating them as an entree. Haha! My fat, sugar loving brain also decided to order the lemoncello tiramisu for dessert, so yeah, there's that. Good dessert but still prefer the goat cheese balls which offer savory and sweetness in their little perfectly rounded package! It wasn't crowded tonight when I picked up the food but it is a Wednesday night. Is this a secret little Surprise gem that still not enough people bothered to try because it's not some trendy chain?? It's their loss. Their food is good and they have outdoor seating too. I'm glad to know I have a go to spot not just for brunch but also dinner.

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch. We are on our way to airport after visiting family. Food was excellent! We ordered Hamburger, Tacos and The Cubano. It's the best Cuban sandwich. Rosemary fries was delicious. Service was great. Wonderful ambiance.

My sweetheart and I had an amazing lunch experience here. Service and FOOD where AMAZING. I enjoyed the Panini Special and my sweetheart enjoyed the Cubano. Sky was a excellent server.

The ambiance was nice. Cute little spot. But- the food and service wasn't the greatest. Out of the 5 appetizers ordered, we only liked one (fried goat cheeseballs)... the other four were incredibly bland. And I'm not sure why service wasn't more attentive- it wasn't crowded... overall I wouldn't rush back. Maybe the entrees is better than the small bites?

What a spectacular spot! The food, absolutely delish!!! Hear me out...!! Tiramisu, but limoncello!!! Okay, honestly, friggin genius!! Bar is awesome, restaurant is great. A beautiful fusion of Mediterranean/American food. The owner is so sweet and her team works hard to provide superb customer service! Place is very well kept, clean and soooo cute! Thank you Toast for being an exceptional place to dine, drink or even just grab dessert.

My wife and her girlfriends went to brunch here ad she brought me a cinnamon roll. It was one of, if not the best, I have ever had!! She said she and her friends enjoyed their meals also. She indicated the service was professional and prompt.

Update. I promised an update after our first visit, and here it is. Originally, it was 4 stars, and now it's five. The food is consistently very good. The bartending is excellent. We had a vodka martini and a cosmo. Both were executed well and were fair pours. The tahini cauliflower is tops in my book. We enjoyed the green chili pork and remarked again about how big the portion is. The patio was shady and comfortable in the evening. Our server, Carolyn was great! The bar is small, and we have yet to be able to get a seat. We'll keep trying...

This is my 3rd lunch here in the past 2 months. I keep returning for the fried goat cheese balls, which are absolutely spectacular. The New yorker sandwich is OK, as is the Southern sandwich. Today I had Mediterranean chicken. It was very tough, difficult in places to cut with a knife. The goat cheese topping and tomatoes saved it from being much worse. Also, it came with about a pound of asparagus as the seasonal vegetables, which I do not care for.

Food and service amazing. Came on prime rib night. The espresso martinis were amazing. All the drinks were great. This is a great little gem off the 303 and Bell with a cool ambiance.

Excellent food, wine selection and service! Will definitely return. A fun place to meet up with friends and family.

We have had the opportunity to visit Toast several times and each time the hospitality, service, food , and beverage have been excellent. their ravioli is delicious and they have several gluten free options available. This is a great local gem!

Cozy Little Spot My sister and I went out for brunch at The Toast Craft Kitchen and Cocktails and we had a great dining experience. The Food, Service and Atmosphere were all great. Toast Craft Kitchen is a trendy cafe, has indoor and outdoor seating, with a delicious brunch menu, that is different from the ordinary. We shared the eggs Benedict, Cubano, and cinnamon roll. Our entrees were so good. The ingredients are super fresh, food is flavorful, and beautifully presented. As much as I enjoyed our entrees, I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll, it was perfectly delicious. I can't wait to go back and try other menu options, think I will try breakfast next time. If you're in the area stop in. The Toast Craft Kitchen and Cocktails, doesn't dissapoint.

Have been eating at Toast since it opened. Food is very good. That is the only reason we come back. That is about to change. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Last night we were the only people in the dining room and I had to get up and ask for our attendant to come back to the table. She spent most of the night talking to some man walking in and out of the kitchen and other attendants. Our drinks were dry. I was drinking alcohol. I would think drinks are where your money is, not to mention the extra money the attendant can add to the tab for their tip. This is not the first time for poor service. We lost out on extra drinks and the attendant lost out on a good tip. The restaurant lost both ways because you had long time patrons walk out unhappy and not coming back for a while.

After a long trip into the White Tanks on our trike, we stopped by The Toast on the way home. Great service, food and drink at the bar! Vincent made me a delicious Lemon Drop, followed by an amazing Espresso Martini! Yum! We shared crab cakes, too! We will definitely be back!

We always like seating at the bar today was no exception the mussels were delicious, I had the New England clam chowder and I told the server bartender that is was as good as moe"s in Oregon which claim to be the best in the world. Wife had pasta I had the stake and fried loved it then hurry home to the World Series. Thank you all

We had a really enjoyable early dinner here. First time here and didn't know what to expect. House wine = big pour and good. Appetizer of Fried Goat Cheese Balls = excellent! French Dip sandwich = so tender. Cubano sandwich = pretty darn good; just a little green chile spicy. We will be back! My husband and I checked this place out for a last minute date night and it was amazing. The atmosphere was really nice and quiet. The lighting inside gave it a nice feel. The service was excellent- but the food.....WOW. I had "The French" and my husband had the salmon. Both were incredible and cooked perfectly. It was a great dinner that was priced well. Definitely coming back again and recommend if you are looking for hidden gems in the Suprise area!

I wanted to like Toast. Waitstaff is not great and food is ok, but priced like it is amazing. Not my cup of tea. First Watch for breakfast is more to my liking and Morton's for dinners.

Cozy atmosphere and great food. Do not skip on the mimosas! The mussels are my favorite and order extra bread for dipping! Service was great and never wanted for anything.

Pretty happy with this place. My only frustration is confusion on when they do brunch. Some sources say sat and sun. But it's Sunday only. Anyway. If you don't work Sundays then you get to have things like these amazing snickerdoodle waffles. I had the chilaquiles which have a great flavor but I wish the pork were shredded. The cubed is sort of a weird mouth full. I prefer chilaquiles with soft tortillas rather than chips. And these chips are hard and crunchy! Another thing I wish for is more sauce. As I said, the chilaquiles are really good and these mentions are just my preference. It's a really big dish so I probably wouldn't get it again unless I have someone to share it with. Those waffles? What can I say. I tried to get a second bite but almost got a fork in the back of my hand. So.... The cinnamon rolls are out of this world! I've also had their version of a Cuban sandwich. Not really a cubano. More "Cuban like". But it's good. Good side salad. Greet service. Almost conveniently located. Since I work Sundays I probably won't be able to get brunch again but their regular menu is pretty good too.

This was our first time at "The Toast" and it came highly recommended. As for the food: NY strip was medium and I ordered medium rare. Zero seasoning on meat. Au Jus was very flavorful. Prime rib was rare and we ordered medium with a sear. Creamy horseradish missing horseradish. Baked potato had only sour cream and a little scallions. Asparagus was average. House bread was good. We also waited 15 minutes for a manager and he couldn't make time for us to review this before I posted. Because if this one fact alone, I am downgrading this to one star. During our recent visit to Phoenix metro, our dinner at Toast Craft Kitchen & Cocktails was a culinary highlight during our trip. Like everywhere else (it seems) in this area, it takes a drive to get here, and in this case it's well worth it. Here's the real food that Gayle, Ron, Meg, and Eric dined on and enjoyed immensely. APPETIZERS - Fried Goat Cheese Balls - Jumbo Lumb Crab Cakes MAIN COURSES - Pound O'Mussels (Red Sauce). Comes with a nice baguette. This item sits on the Appetizer menu, but those huge mussels and bread make are generous in portion. - Pound O'Mussels (White Sauce) I should have ordered a side of fries to make this dish more complete. - Green Chile Pork - Prime Rib Additional Observations: 1. We sat on the patio on a most pleasant evening. 2. Toast sits in the middle of a strip mall, which makes it interesting to find. 3. There was a lot of white and gray hair in this full restaurant, a reflection I'm sure of the large 50+ crowd in the greater Phoenix area. 4. Service was a bit slow coming out of the kitchen. At the same time, our waiter was friendly and attentive to our inquires. Ron also complemented the chef on the way out. 5. We all thought that the overall tab (including drinks) were reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. I also appreciated that the check was clear in calculating the tip pretax and what the various totals might be.

Reception was very nice and cordial. Karelyn our Server is super sweet and attentive. Coffee Negroni is very interesting, but very good. Brussel Sprouts were fantastic. Salmon and the Ravioli were SUPER. Baklava was to die for. We will be back!

Delicious! The rosemary fries are amazing! I got the white wine sangria special of the month it was gorgeous! And sooo tasty and smooth! My husband got the French dip sandwich and he said it's the BEST he's ever had! I love the atmosphere it is low lighting, adorable decor, and so cozy. Make sure to get a reservation! Super fast service.

Service was excellent! Food was almost great - sauces were amazing. I had the mediterranean chicken - chicken was a little dry/ tough but because everything else on the plate was spectacular I would go back to try it again and just figure tonight was a one off. My friend had the salmon and raved. our appetizer was the Caprese on flatbread and I could've eaten two or three portions of that. The bread pudding dessert was fabulous. Overall we will return.

Being from Wisconsin I think their fish fry is very good. The only problem is that they give you three small pieces. I mean small. For $20 you should get at least 4 peices or a larger total weight. Nothing worse than a yummy meal that's not enough to satisfy. Skye our waitress was wonderful as usual. P

Went there for youngest son's 25th birthday. It's small but quaint. Food is worth the wait. If there was any concerns immediately addressed. Limoncello shot to toast bday!!!!1

This place is so beautiful and food is top-notch! I had the Gangsta Salad - it was huge and so amazing!!! I'm dreaming of ordering it again! My daughter loves their grilled cheese and side salad on the kids menu. Salad dressings are impeccable!

Was really excited to try this place after living here for 5 years... they have to put more effort into this menu. Got the prosciutto fig flatbread. Was not a flatbread... but a limp super thin crust piece of dough. Was expecting a nice fig jam to complement the goat cheese. Nope, whole fig pieces. The goat cheese coated my entire mouth I could smack my gums it was strange... just put some more effort into this please. Could be a great restaurant but needs some love. Coconut shrimp with dipping sauce was tasty. Italian panini was mediocre, small grinder sized sandwich. Hope to see it improve!

I ordered the coconut shrimp and they were dry. The rice was over cooked. My friend ordered the corned beef and cabbage and it came without carrots. Overall, the food was mediocre.

First time here but won't be the last. Great classic French bistro with zero pretense, just great food. I had the mussels and hubby had the steak frite - both were delicious and paired beautifully with a rosè recommended by our waiter, Patrick. Service was attentive without hovering. Eager to try the happy hour here and broader menu. A true hidden gem!

We stopped here because I always passed this and wanted to try it. It is an adorable find, cute spot. We got sitted right away. It's not super big, everything is in its place. We got water, salted iced caramel coffee. The waitress was wonderful took our orders right away. My husband got the chiliquilas green chile, and I got the trailer park breakfast.

Came here on my drive from Las Vegas. The service was great. Tasty salad, but not worth $25... the salmon couldn't have been a standard 6 oz piece...slightly disappointed

MOVING FROM DENVER TO SURPRISE We have an excellent selection of above average restaurants in the Denver metro area, we will be moving to Surprise in about a month. We were happy to stumble upon this place yesterday. Excellent lunch and customers without blue hair! We'll be back! Thank you Skye!

First time at this restaurant with my wife & another couple. The crab cakes & calamari were delicious! Whitney our server was exceptional. Our party had the kabobs, the cubano & French dip. Personally, I didn't care for the cubano which is really a grilled panini, not a Mexican/style sandwich. Overall, we will be back to try other offerings, but I know we will order crab cakes again. They were so yummy. We were taken aback by the shabby condition of the dessert menu. How tacky for such a nice place.

We were looking for a new place to eat in Surprise for Easter lunch. The menu and reviews online looked great so we decided to give this place a try. We didn't have reservations but the staff were great and found us a table quickly. The atmosphere is fun with great outdoor seating. The menu options for brunch were very limited with about 9-10 options. It was disappointing to not have a bigger menu selection. I understand holiday hours and menus are modified however. The staff informed us that they were out of lamb so that took two options off the menu with two and half hours left in brunch. My mom ordered a skillet breakfast. I had the house salad with Shrimp and Joel had the crab cake eggs Benedict. Three people with tip was almost $100 which felt a bit over priced. We may try this place again but it was a disappointing first try.

It's a very convenient spot that serves good food and I love the bartender and the cozy place. A person could stay here too long.

Saw this place on Check Please! Arizona and wanted to check it out, so we did. It's got a comfy vibe when you walk in, but we were surprised at how much smaller it seemed than on TV, though nothing really wrong with that. I started with the Borracha Bread, which is crusty bread with a white wine cheese fondue. It was delicious!!!! The bread was fresh and the fondue was full of cheesey goodness. Honestly, I could've had that as a meal, which might happen in the future. Hubby got the New England Clam Chowder, which was chock full of clams. He said it was really good, which I believed because he was practically licking the bowl. For my entree, I went with The French (sandwich), which is basically a French Dip with Rosemary French Fries. It was so good! The meat was so tender, the baquette was toasted, but still soft. The fries were thin (which I like) and had a delightful rosemary flavor to them. Hubby went with the Green Chili Pork, which looked like a stew with fork-tender chunks of pork. It came with a side of tortillas. He really enjoyed his meal! There are some other items we'd like to try, so we know we'll definitely be heading back this way again.

As I sit here trying to eat the sandwich I ordered, Cabano which was green pork verde with ham cheese and pickles. The pictures will show my sandwich. Had to dig to find any pork at all ham and cheese was abundant. The bread was like heels of bread and almost burnt on one side. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut through the bread. Three rosemary fries were very good and coffee was very tasty. The pickles were mostly end pieces. Service was right on and friendly . Nice clean and well decorated. Would I go back, not sure.

I was so excited to finally visit this place. My husband called to make our reservation and told them we were celebrating my birthday. He again mentioned this when we arrived two days later. I really wanted so badly to post a great review, but unfortunately, I just can't. First, we had to wait about 20 minutes before we could get water. This was after placing our cocktail and appetizer orders. Our server, who was very nice, explained that they were short on water glasses at that time. Wait, what? We ordered the calamari and roasted Brussels sprouts, and both were delicious. I wish I could say that about my entree that I ordered. I chose the Hanger Steak, medium rare. I had to send it back because it was rare at most, and cool when it arrived. My husband had the prime rib special, which was very good. Our server was nice enough to take something off our bill, because the steak, after being brought back out, tasted odd, like the meat was past its prime. I only ate two bites. The rosemary fries were tasty, so they got that right. We left after our bill was brought out. No mention was made of celebrating a birthday. I'm so disappointed, as I had looking forward to finally dining here. The patrons on both sides of us told us how good the food was here, but that just wasn't our experience. Not sure we'd come back again.
