The Tomato Pizza

On North Austin Street, there’s a fantastic setup with multiple food trucks right next to the East Side Bar. The atmosphere is awesome—there’s even a big screen that plays movies or sports depending on the night. During my visit, it happened to be movie night, which made the experience even better. My wife and I ordered the fry sub combos, and they were delicious. The warm ham and cheese on a ciabatta bun was perfect, and the combo included a large breadstick and a drink. Everything was fairly priced and tasted great. Wonderful experience, great vibes, and a fun place to relax. I can’t wait to come back and try something new!

Amazing pizza, Had the deep dish, it’s personal sized for sure so buy 1 per person or share if you’re looking to just snack on something while drinking. The slice combo is a nice portion of a square sized slice of your choosing with 2 breadsticks and a dipping sauce and a soda. The sauce is the winner here, rich in flavor and body. The deep dish you get to choose 3 ingredients. Definitely one of the best pizzas in Denton, if not the whole North Texas area. Highly recommended. It’s located in East Side Denton, so you can grab a beer and watch a movie too.

This pizza is so good it makes you happy. You really must try a slice, and of their delicious Chicago Style stuffed pizza too! The Tomato staff is friendly and the pizza is baked to perfection. You can eat outside or inside Eastside which is a short walk from the Tomato. Thank you guys for a great pizza experience at the Tomato tonight!

Best pizza in TOWN. You can always count a warm and FRESH pizza and breadsticks.

We waited 25 years to have The (Flying) Tomato and it did not disappoint. The tomato sauce makes the pizza, the slices are big, and breadsticks divine, and the crew amazing. Can't wait to go back next weekend.

I really enjoy a slice of your pizza. It's always great and you folks are very friendly! It's also very easy pick up. I enjoy the walk to the food truck lot. Good vibes and relaxing.

So great to have a restaurant who truly cares about their roots just as much as they care about the city of Denton around again. Delivery was nearly 15 minutes faster than promised delivery time. We LOVE The Tomato Pizza!!!

I’m generally not a huge fan of pizza, but this is downright the BEST pizza I’ve ever had so far 08/21 update: wanted to add this experience we had with them today. Every Thursday, my fiancé and I have been ordering from here as a little tradition when our show drops. The food has always been fantastic. Today, I guess there was a particular issue with our order that resulted in a delay with its delivery. They were very transparent and called us to inform us of what happened. We were more than grateful simply for the heads up they gave us, but they went out of their way for us and even left a note in our order thanking us for being patient. Again, we have not had a single bad experience with them and were more than happy to remain patient, but them going the extra mile was really awesome and we are truly appreciative!!

Being from Chicago I was so excited to find a place that serves Chicago style pizza! We chose 2 individual deep dish pizzas and asked for sausage instead of the pepperoni. Darn, sooo disappointed. Pizzas were cute. Sauce was blah and barely there. And if you know Chicago pizza, it's about the sauce. Couldn't hardly find the sausage. Just a few tweaks and it could be awesome. Might try the thin crust slices.

I felt like the advertising (pictures) didnt fit what was served. For $7 / $8 dollars this was a travesty. I ordered two slices which combined should have been the size of one. To top that, it was mostly dough with very little sauce and cheese. Might need to take a page out of Costco Pizza book and give value or charge appropriately. That was a $3 dollar slice. Severly disappointed!

It all started for me with The Tomato since around 1986. 3rd location since the beginning of it all, but still tastes exactly like I remembered nearly 40 years ago. My go-to has always been pepperoni, sausage, and extra tomato sauce. The dough & sauce cannot get any better, they're perfect. I've had pizza all over the country, and this is still the best. For both flavor and nostalgia. These slices never fail. My favorite days are when they offer the game day large pizzas, just like I had a kid. SO WORTH the drive from my home in downtown Dallas.

Easily the best pizza in Denton. Order the Chicago style pizza--You will not be disappointed. Their breadsticks are also REALLY good! The service is always fantastic and their online platform is easy to navigate. I'm a big fan of their take-out option and can usually find a parking spot nearby. Dine-in is great too, but just know that it's all outdoors, with limited covering.

We eat here about once a week and live an hour away. Daily STUFFED is the way to go! Pepperoni Rolls or Breadsticks are amazing. Greatness! It's part of the food truck park so we can enjoy a pint of beer from Eastside on the patio while we wait for the pizza. The service, they give you a pager, and it's super easy to order and ENJOY! We've gotten pizza and sandwiches from here in person and delivered via Doordash. It was amazing every time. Food is phenomenal, and the staff is super friendly. I wish I could give 6 stars!

Obsessed with this pizza. Came here on a Friday and went back Saturday and everyday since. The slices are just that good. Can't say anything bad about this place AT ALL!
