Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Boston | Eater Boston

"There’s no kids-menu offshoot at Little Cocoa Bean Co.; instead, the whole menu is designed with kids in mind. Parents can also check out the cafe’s ongoing events schedule, which includes workshops on sleep tips, nutrition and food prep, and breastfeeding support. Note: There’s no longer daily food service at the JP location while the team is hard at work on a cafe expansion at the Boston Children’s Museum, but kids can still drop in to regularly scheduled events at the JP cafe." - Erika Adams

A Decades-Old Fenway Sports Bar Abruptly Shut Down This Week | Eater Boston

"A Jamaica Plain cafe focused on toddlers, run by Tracy Skelly, was named among ten Black small-business owners to receive $100,000 in grant funding from a new nonprofit initiative. The award, distributed over three years, is intended to help scale and supercharge participating businesses as part of a broader effort to close Boston’s racial wealth gap." - Erika Adams

Little Dipper Review - Jamaica Plain - Boston - The Infatuation

"Places like the Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood did everything they could to ruin themed restaurants for an entire generation. But Little Dipper, a space-themed diner in Jamaica Plain, is fighting back. Model rockets hang from the ceiling and entrees have names like “Ground Control” and “Saturn Stack.” But unlike the Hard Rock Cafe, this place put some effort into the food instead of blowing the entire budget on a jumpsuit Elvis once threw up on. We like to come for brunch and order the Betty Page, which is an eggs benedict that swaps out the english muffin for potatoes. But if you come for lunch or dinner, their burgers are very solid too." - Dan Secatore

This place deserves six stars for the idea and community they have created here ! We came after hearing about the café for a little while and were thrilled that were a bunch of other little kiddos, toys, and books to entertain our little one. The food items were particularly catered to infants, toddlers, and younger kids. All nutritous - including the Belgian waffles infused with spinach, quesodilla with black eyed pea spread and cheese, fruit, and homemade yogurt. Coffee and tea were available to parents as well. The team even makes healthy shakes in pouches if your child needs that. Knowing they recently opened, I only hope that they can find a new and bigger space soon. Overall though, absolutely had a wonderful time here as a family and hope to come again soon!

This place is adorable. Your kids can play while you relax and have a drink or food. They even offer dry erase markers if kids want to draw on the table!

This was a great way to spend a morning with my 3 year old. She was a BIG fan of the pink waffle, toddler sized smoothie (made with fresh fruit) and all the toys. The owner has really thought about everything—from beautiful, diverse books to toddler-size snacks, to tables that you can write on. A beautiful place. Highly recommend!

Fun little store selling smoothies and pastries. Also a safe space for little tots to play, books to read, walls to write on. They even have a place in the back to park and secure your stroller with a complimentary lock to borrow from the store.

What a gem! My daughter had the best time at this kid centered cafe. Normally a picky eater, she sat and ate her entire meal. Plus, she could play and read while waiting for her food. A must visit!

Genius idea! Great way to spend an early Saturday morning. Great toys, great space, and delicious and healthy kid meals. Why didn't someone do this before?

I went out of my way to go to this place with my toddler and it did not disappoint. I was able to have some great food, while my kid kept busy playing for a bit. The owner, Tracy, was so kind and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming again!

Perfect place to spend a rainy morning with my 1.5 year old. The fresh squeezed juice was delicious and the space is inviting and kid-friendly. Wonderful addition to the community, I look forward to spending more time here!

Yelp
What a cute little cafe to bring your kids! They literally thought of everything when creating a cafe tailored to healthy eating for little ones. The food is really good. Both the cornbread muffin and quiche were tasty and fresh. Comes with berries and yogurt as a side. Note these are kids portions. They also have a nice selection of smoothies and ice / drip coffee (no espresso drinks though). Kid safe utensils and plates are also provided. The play area has a variety of toys and books to entertain little ones. There is a warm and inviting ambience and everything is neat and organized despite all the kids. Worth a visit if you are in JP with your kids and need a breakfast or lunch spot for them. Make sure you check their hours though. I believe they are closed Mon and Tue.

Yelp
So cute cute little cafe spot with children play area in the corner! I was able to enjoy little time with delicious smoothies. The owner was very friendly. They got cute cup sizes for toddler to "big kid" cup options, fruit bowls. Smoothies and very aware of allergic. This is a nut free place.

Yelp
My 1.5 year old loved her time here and so did I! We had a slice of the vegan cheese pizza and she ate it all up! I wish it was a bit of a bigger portion because she definitely wanted more :). She also really enjoyed her pressed juice which came in the cutest little cup! It seemed like the menu was exclusively tailored for little ones with small portions, so I wonder if caregivers can BYO or if there's an adult size food menu as well. I got a coffee for myself and it was great! The play space was wonderful, clean, and there were a variety of toys for her to play with. The barista also read a couple books for a mini story time which we loved. The bathroom was also very nice with complimentary diapers, wipes, and feminine care products. You can tell a lot of thought was put into every part of this place! I'm looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
What a lovely space to come with kids! Wish there were more places like this. Delicious snacks and coffee and kind owners.

Yelp
Lovely spot for kids and families. The point here is that it's designed to keep your child entertained, and it does that really well. Lots of toys, as well as the occasional event for kids. The food and smoothies are surprisingly good too, and the portions are good for kids. The staff is absolutely wonderful.

Yelp
Such a perfect idea! Brought my 2.5 year old and 9 mo here today and was SO impressed. I've actually never left a yelp review of anything but I thought this place was so amazing. Staff was incredibly friendly and the menu was adorable and so accessible for children. My youngest enjoyed a fresh strawberry waffle while my toddler ate fresh berries played with all of the toys while I enjoyed a hot coffee knowing they had a safe place to play. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We absolutely adore this place! First time going and I have a kiddo with a lot of allergies and is a picky eater and he gobbled up their rainbow waffle that had veggies in it and said the applesauce was so good! Time flew by with all the toys you could play with and the staff was incredibly friendly. We will be regulars! Parking is free on the street and they have a small lot in the back. Bathrooms are also super family friendly and clean- stocked with baby essentials in case you need anything. For parents they have coffee which is great!
