Yelp
I have been a member of TC for about 4 years. There are primarily 3 reasons I came to the club as often as I have: quality of food, excellence in service, and really good networking with other members. Now there is a 4th reason.
The tower club is going through a *major* renovation. IMO it was time. The club was very dated and 'old guard clubby' feeling. Dark paneling, humdrum layout, weathered carpeting. Sorely in need of a reboot. Well, the renovations started with the lounge and restaurant and are PHENOMENAL. Lots of great, natural light is complemented by new furniture and a really modern (but not trendy) bar. Excellent seating options with plenty of booths and tables with great views of the entire DC area.
The food was good before, but TC recently brought on board a new exec chef. The menu is stellar. Tuna tartare, several options for flatbreads and salads, burgers and sandwiches. By the way, that is just the bar menu! The restaurant features steaks, chops, and seafood all expertly prepared.
The waitstaff is attentive without crowding you. The opportunity to network is certainly available. They have excellent programs for educating yourself on a variety of topics (govcon, health and wellness, marketing and branding, etc.) However, you will get out of it what you put into it. In other words, if you're a business owner, don't join the tower club expecting revenue to mystically fall in your lap. Attend the events and programs, network with others, and get to know Jeff Brouse, the membership director, who will quickly learn about your business and make great introductions.
The renovations are certainly a work in progress. Now that the lounge and restaurant are renovated, they are renovating the atrium and meeting rooms. Yes, it will be a few weeks before the renovations are complete, but it will be well worth it when finished.
If you are a business owner, join the tower club. It has been a great business tool for me. If you are considering joining, I'd be happy to provide more detail.
