The Best Speakeasies & Secret Bars In Austin (And How To Get In) - Austin - The Infatuation

"Located behind Shangri-La on East Sixth, The Treasury is a semi-secret, loosely bank-themed bar. And by loosely bank-themed, we mean that it’s located in a tiny room down a flight of stairs that makes us feel like we’re entering an old vault. There are no reservations, so plan accordingly—weekends can get busy—but they’re one of the few speakeasies in town that offers happy hour every day that they're open from 6-8pm, in case you needed another reason to kick the night off early. They don’t have food of their own, but you can bring down some White Castle-inspired burgers from the Golden Castle food trailer upstairs, and enjoy a fun, unconventional pairing with a couple espresso martinis." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs

Best Speakeasy Bars in Austin | Eater Austin

"This hidden East Austin bar with a whole bank theme is located beneath its parent spot Shangri-La. To find: Look for the door nestled on Shangri-La’s back patio and push the button for admission. Walk down the steps into the vault. Bonus: You can bring in burgers from the Golden Castle trailer. There are no reservations, so expect a crowd on the weekends." - Darcie Duttweiler

Best Emo Restaurants and Bars in Austin | Eater Austin

"This speakeasy behind Shangri-La on East Sixth will occasionally trot out an emo theme — but even during normal operations, there’s something distinctly emo about having to descend into darkness for one of the best espresso martinis in town." - Erin Russell

The Treasury is an absolute treasure! There’s a huge selection of unique lighting, home decor, tables, cool chairs, sofas, beds, outdoor decor, really cool iron gates, and more than I can say. Don’t sleep on this place!

Super unique out of the way vintage furniture and decor store. I didn't take any pictures because I was to busy taking it all in. Lots of items I'd love to add to my home decor to give it a unique and elegant flare. A must visit if you have some time to kill before getting your iconic Lake Travis sunset in!

Rob the owner, and owner of the Oasis hand picks every piece for this store. He has a design background and it shows in the eclectic style of pieces. The building is huge and yet it is crammed pack full of things. There is everything from small knick knacks to 19th Century Austrian woodwork at over 50k. Cool place to just window shop

Go early on Sunday to enjoy the sunset, stay late to enjoy salsa dancing. They give free lessons. The best party in or around Austin on Sunday nights. The food is subpar, but the sunset is the best in central Texas.

The best place to get unique items for your house. It is a must if you like eclectic furniture and art.

I was very disappointed at the service. It took two hours to get served. They gave our order to someone else. Our waiter had too many table. We were getting our drinks ourselves from the bar. By the time we got our food it was four hours later. I will not come again. Not worth the price.

Yelp
I've been coming to Shangri-la for the past twenty years, since it was at its previous location. I have always loved it's east Austin vibe. Recently, they opened a secret bar in the back. While I understand such bars are becoming trendy in Austin, this one is worth visiting. $15 drinks, first off. And high concept. Not your smoke or gelatin ball level but def up there. And it matches the vibe of Shangri la. Chill, cozy, and it feels like Austin.

Yelp
This place is full of really unique and interesting pieces of furniture and decor. Things are on the high end for prices but it's a fun walk around the store just looking at all the cool things. The store is 3 stories tall but thankfully there is an elevator. Parking is a bit scarce. It's a fun distraction before or after visiting the Oasis up the road.

Yelp
The Treasury is one of those places where 'you've been past it a thousand times, but never quite get around to going inside.' That's because it's pretty well hidden in plain sight - just across the street from the Oasis Bar and Grill. This store is owned by Beau Theriot, the owner of the Oasis, and you can tell if you pay attention. Many of the furnishings and sculptures that you'll see around the Oasis come from here, and have the same artists behind them. This is a big space, about four stories if you include the sub-level, and it's jam-packed with all sorts of luxury furniture. See my pictures to get an idea. Kudos to the folks who run the place for putting in an elevator so that you can start at the top and work your way down! Definitely worth a look if you like artistic furniture or garden design, but it's also only for the millionaire set. I don't think I saw anything inside priced less than $100, and those were some of the lamp sconces!

Yelp
The Treasury is a great place to go furniture and home accessory shopping near the lake. It is located just across the street from the famous Oasis Bar and Grill on Lake Travis. This store also happens to be owned by Beau Theriot, the owner of the Oasis. Apparently, he and his wife travel around the globe, picking up interesting and unique items here and there to fill the store. It appears that way as you walk around. One of the first things you notice when you drive up are all of the sculptures of children and other things in the parking lot and going up the entry. I am not a big fan of these, but if you are into it, they have a lot to look at. Inside, the place is big. I believe it is three full stories. On the top floor, they have a small real estate office for Beau's other venture, but they have decorated around it with stuff for sale. The rest of the floors are full of furniture and random items, some of which are setup in small vignettes. They have a varied selection of items...animal print rugs, ornate armoires, luxurious sofas, paintings, light fixtures, dining tables, and so much more. There is a warehouse just steps from the retail floor that is full of merchandise. I suspect most people don't go in there but it is a bit of a treasure trove. Yes, this place is pricey, but everything is very high quality and certainly unique. You won't find the things you purchase in this store at your friend's house, that is for sure! One of my favorite accessories in the house came from here. They offer a designer discount if you are working with an interior designer, or happen to be one yourself. The staff is very friendly and helpful from start to finish and they leave you to wander the store at your leisure.

Yelp
The inventory is absolutely outstanding. However, the prices are out of this world, crazy insane, ridiculously expensive, and kind of unreasonable. My husband and I are not poor people. We can afford luxury, but come on! $3,000 for a velvet chair? It seems as though all the prices have an extra zero. It must be a mistake. I guess we will stick to Ashley Homestores for all our furniture needs.
