The Trie Café

This was a nice small business inside the museum. I am glad they had the cafe outdoors in the courtyard garden area. It’s spaced out and not over crowded.

The setting is lovely. But the food is way too overpriced. Even for a museum. Charged me $5 for 10 gummy bears in a bag. It also is really crowded. With everyone talking its not really a serene place to have a snack.

$15 for a stale premade sandwich is insulting, but somewhat predictable for a museum cafeteria. $5 for a water, without a nearby water fountain or station, is straight up evil.

Extremely overpriced, as one would expect being located inside a museum in a remote area... but the sandwich was tasty and the setting was serene :-)

This place has always been lackluster but this season it’s far worse. Seems to be under new management. Its a glorified vending machine. Everything is prepackaged with a 500% markup. It’s a cafe and they don’t have hot coffee just cans. Obviously the result of necrotic bureaucracy and a hatred of nice things. Bring The Rose Bakery in. Send this anemic hospitality group back to drop-shipping scam business model incubation chamber it crawled out of.

Acceptable only thanks to the space its set within. Other than that, things are overpriced and the staffs are unfriendly if not rude.

The cloisters are beautiful, but this is the only option for refreshments in the park and do they milk it. $17 for a sandwich that’s been sitting in the sun all day, and you’ll be eating it off a paper plate, and no artisan coffee? There’s also no room to sit inside the galleries and have a good look - they really make you feel unwanted.

No listing for closure because it was drizzling outside. Very beautiful place to dine though right in the cloister, however you pay extra and it’s very inconvenient to find

I wouldn't eat here unless you had to. Of course, when you visit a museum...especially one with not much around... you sort of have to unfortunately. This is basically a cart service with cold sandwiches, chips, coffee/espresso beverages, beer/wine and some salads. It's all delivered in and then sold at exorbitant prices. It's likely similar to some of the options available at the Met on 5th avenue but there you have quite a few more choices. Expect to blow through $50 on two sandwiches chips and drinks. The sandwiches are cold and a bit dry. They are a bit 'fancied up' so I guess that makes it slightly better but they are still pre-made and awaiting sale. The one nice thing is the seating area in the cloister. It's lovely.

This place is a ripoff but everyone knows it so it's nothing new. Just give you an idea though:I had the smallest size of lay's and an ice tea for about 10$ They do have muffins and sandwiches which would be a better choices than chips... It also said it only open during the summer,I wonder what's going on with the winter.

Amazing location to sit down and enjoy a nice cup of coffee and cake. This cafe could really be revamped considering it's situated inside a lovely courtyard. I was sad to see such limited coffee and tea options. The food selection was minimal and very overpriced. I hope they improve soon!

I think the company they outsourced this to mange the cafe must have changed. We got overpriced and awful sandwiches and a $9 cold coffee that really spoiled our visit to the Cloisters. Do not eat here. It's horrible, as well as expensive.

This is a beautiful place to sit, eat and relax. It has a great little garden in the center. Everything is way overpriced though, so be prepared to spend.

Award for worst sandwich----straight out of the refrigerator. Bread somehat soggy in parts & the rest dry, relatively tasteless all for $15. They could really do so much better.
