The 25 Best Restaurants & Bars In Palm Springs

"With an old-school Miami supper club feel, The Tropicale is a grown-up, kitschy oasis and perhaps your best opportunity to finally pull off that flowered button-down you got in Nassau. This is a fine dining experience (and a great one at that), but with an impressive cocktail list and an even better back patio, the recipe is right for things to get weird. Take note, The Tropicale is down to party." - brant cox

The Best Restaurants in Palm Springs

"Not a drop of white or beige can be found inside the Tropicale’s boldly designed supper club. Whether dropping in for happy hour, dinner, or brunch, find strong cocktails and memorable food. The jalapeño waffle with fried chicken and the Thai lime and chile steak salad are great daytime options, while the organic brisket burger with melted brie works extremely well for dinner." - Eater Staff, Mona Holmes

Tropicana at the Roosevelt Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Between The Lobby Bar and The Spare Room (which is outfitted with a vintage two-lane bowling alley), the Hollywood Roosevelt might have the best overall collection of hotel bars in the city. Our favorite of the bunch is Tropicana. This iconic pool bar is surrounded by palm trees and private mid-century bungalows, all of which will briefly fool you into thinking you skipped town and went to Palm Springs for the weekend. As for drinks, especially during the summer months, order a frozen cocktail." - Brant Cox

Google
A fabulous spot with delicious food and a laid-back vibe that won’t quit. I heard that this was the most popular restaurant in Palm Springs and now I understand why. The atmosphere is intoxicating. Our server was wonderful. And the food was everything you want it to be. Even something as simple as the spaghetti and meatballs was a dish that everyone wanted to eat more of. It felt like being invited into a cool secret club, but not pretentious at all. An unforgettable experience for the large group we were with that exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend.

The Tropicale in Palm Springs is an absolute gem with a calming, yet upbeat, and romantic atmosphere. The warm pink accent lighting and lush decor set the perfect mood for a fun date night. The fun Cuban music playing in the background adds a vibrant and playful energy to the experience. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed yet lively night out. The food was on point. We started with the Korean BBQ skewers. They were full of flavor and unbelievably tender. For our entrees, I got the steak and arugula salad, and my husband ordered a flat iron steak with a wonderful southwestern blend of vegetables. Both wonderful. Then, we ended with their carrot cake. Oh my goodness. One of the best carrot cakes that we have tried since being stationed here! It was so good, there wasn’t even time to snap a quick picture. 😂 10/10 recommend this place. We plan on bringing a group of friends with us next time to try their pitchers of speciality drinks. 🍹

Google
Good service. For a first time group visit, the pupu platter is a must-order to sample a bunch of different appetizers. There were no misses. Would highly recommend the food—Miso Salmon, Thai Lime & Chile skirt steak salad Wish my cocktail was more balanced in flavour. Chocolate cake was HUGE, but didn’t want to have more than a few bites of it. Was skeptical from photos online, but the night restaurant lighting doesn’t do the food justice.

Google
Love the whole vibe here! Perfect place to come for a great happy hour. Service was excellent- from the host to the bartenders. Host was especially welcoming and friendly. We opted for two seats at the bar and ordered their happy hour gin martinis- the biggest martini glass I’ve ever seen, filled all the way to the top. So full that they had to put the olives on the side. Ooff- delicious but strong! We also tried the tempura green beans which were so good. Not too heavily battered. They are so good.

Google
If I could rate The Tropicale with MORE STARS, I most definitely WOULD. Wow! The place is huge and was packed for a Tuesday night, so make sure you make reservations! First - The drinks - WOW! The selection, the flavors, the quantity of alcohol... WOW. The Coconut Martini, holy sh*t. Get one. You'll be amazed. The other beverages were all delicious, but the Coconut Martini was the standout. Second - The Food- WOW! We had the Calamari. The flavors, the vegetables, and the presentation were ALL so unique and so delicious! What a combination of flavors! Firecracker Shrimp. Some of the BEST we've ever had. The chicken satay, phenomenal. The cook, the flavor, and the sauce were all unbelievable. The Thai Pork Lettuce Wraps were ridiculously delicious, and then we had the Lamb Meatballs for dessert. Haha, the flavors and cook were all spot-on. Third - Our server, Aaron, was charming, friendly, efficient, and attentive. It was busy, but we never noticed as he was always available! What an experience! The next time we are in Palm Springs, The Tropicale will be at the TOP of the list of places to visit. We will tell all of our friends and encourage them to visit! We could not have asked for a better first visit. Thank you!! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Google
Very nice with interior and exterior eating areas. Large Marlin on the wall. Ordered the skewers. The steak ones were very tender & juicy. The steak was good but I didn’t like the salad. Finished with a very nice strawberry cheesecake. Service is fast and helpful. Men’s restroom is all black except one wall. caught me by surprise and would not want the lights to turn off hahaha. I say check it out.

Google
A Palm Springs staple with a fantastic atmosphere. The service was stellar and ambience wonderful. The food was average, but certainly not bad. I recommend sitting on the beautiful patio and getting the shrimp cocktail!

Google
I wanna start by saying while the food here is generous and delicious, it’s PRICEY. But- the drinks are good & strong and BIG. This menu is all over the place in the best way. They go big on everything here, flavors & portions and price, lol. We arrived a lil earlier than we reserved & they seated us no problem. Our waitress was friendly & made excellent suggestions. Every table within earshot was raucously having a blast & laughing heartily. It was only a short matter of time before we were too. Expect to drop about $200 for drinks dinner and dessert for 2 ppl.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I came here for dinner on a whim on a Friday night in Palm Springs. From the outside, the place looks pretty basic, but once inside, be prepared to be charmed. We were there in December, but we were able to sit out on their expansive patio. They had a ton of heat lamps to keep you cozy during your meal. Our waitstaff were great and very helpful. I ordered the Grilled Creekstone Ranch Prime Flat Iron Steak which comes with a baked potato with bacon lardons, butter, horseradish cream, and chives. I asked for the steak to be prepared medium. Baby, when I tell you my food was so good! It was a huge portion but I ate the rest of my meal the next day! My friends really enjoyed their entrees as well. They both got a cocktail and the presentation was lovely. We found this place on accident and I'm so glad we did. I'd definitely come back here the next time I'm in PS. P.s- the little Italian fruit candies they have on the counter are so good!

Yelp
Portions are large but the food was highly variable and in general very expensive for the taste. The miso salmon with black rice bowl and steamed vegetables was surprsingly bland, although the salmon was cooked well. We asked for some more miso sauce on the side but with more of that it was just predominantly sweet. Definite skip. The maple BBQ chicken pizza was soggy and surprisingly uninspired given our waiter's positive comments about their wood-fired pizza oven. *Best by far* was the Indian seafood curry with rice and naan. The seafood was cooked very well (fish, jumbo shrimp, and scallops), and the sauce was delicious. Only real dings on this dish was the price ($44). Finally, the New York cheesecake with strawberry sauce wasn't great, something about it just seemed wrong (lacking some tang and textural contrast from the crust) but we couldn't quite put our fingers on it. Overall it was a surprisingly expensive meal with mediocre food, but if you do end up here go for the Indian seafood curry (and several other reviews seem to rave about the burger so we probably should have gone for that too!). Edit in response to the owner below: Yes, we had cheesecake here a few weeks ago in January, I don't know what to say about that otherwise. And why do we point out a soggy pizza? To help others with their choices, obviously. The food options were highly variable with one in particular being totally good and enjoyable as noted and the others quite disappointing, especially for the high prices. Looking at other reviews the owner obviously doesn't take criticism well.

Yelp
If you like getting the wrong order and being told, "That's just how we do things here," then this is the spot for you! Ordered martinis, got something that vaguely resembled lemon drops but had the taste of 100% sugar. Asked for a correction, got the wrong one, and when I pointed it out, they shrugged and walked away. Customer service? Nonexistent. Quality control? Never met her. Save yourself the trouble and go literally anywhere else. Edit - The owner's response below is rude and unprofessional, which further reflects the lack of care for customers at this establishment. My feedback stands: if you value good customer service and quality control, this is not the place to find it.

Yelp
Palm Springs in December is way more bearable than the middle of the sweltering summer, which makes the outdoor patio at this local favorite a very appealing spot for brunch. Jamie W and I were reuniting with our old friend John who had moved to Palm Springs a few years back. The restaurant has been open only since 2007, yet it has a Rat Pack-type retro-vintage vibe starting with the pink exterior. We had a reservation in the back patio, and the weather was very nearly perfect with the umbrellas providing a nice filter for the sunlight. We started with the $20 Tropicale Bloody Mary's where they make their own mix and add vodka, muddled citrus, and various spices. Festooned with marinated vegetables, it hit the spot (photo: https://yelp.to/dzIK6N132c). It was the right drink at the right place and the right time. For our mains, we each ordered hearty plates. John went with the tantalizing $24 Tia's Chilaquiles with Mole Pipian Verde. It came with quite a mound of scrambled eggs, refried beans, queso fresco, and cilantro (photo: https://yelp.to/b3yeYXZU0q). The tortilla chips maintained their crunch, and the salsa fresca added freshness. Jamie ordered the homestyle $23 Huevos Rancheros with Yucatán Chicken Sausage, Corn Tortillas, and Fried Eggs (photo: https://yelp.to/ddQ6h3MoIu). It provided delicious comfort with refried beans, guacamole, melted cheese, chipotle cream, and salsa fresca added to the plate. I decided to go for the $34 Chilled Crab, Avocado, and Iceberg Wedge Salad with pear tomatoes, red onion, chopped bacon, and green goddess salad (photo: https://yelp.to/hMuYMln1_h). Just what I wanted, a mid-century salad in a mid-century-looking restaurant. I forgot to mention the complimentary Blueberry Muffin Loaf probably because we demolished it so quickly (photo: https://yelp.to/9JtWR7rGRk). FOOD - 4 stars...have a lotta brunch AMBIANCE - 4 stars...a nice patio during a PS winter SERVICE - 4 stars...quite attentive TOTAL - 4 stars...throwback charm at this popular oasis RELATED - Exploring Palm Springs? Yelp
Very vibrant atmosphere. Noisy inside but ok outside where we ate. The magenta lighting made it difficult to get good food pictures though. Excellent and prompt service. The pupu platter was great. Loved the tempura green beans the best, followed equally by the tiger shrimp, chicken satay, beef skewers and Shanghai ribs. My fried chicken was great. I got dark meat for both pieces of chicken. The mashed potatoes/gravy and succotash were wonderful. My nits would be to keep the chicken away from the mash (made the chicken less crispy), and have more crunch on the chicken. I had enough for the next day, and it was still good. The companion's barbacoa was great. Very tender. Tortillas were good. The onions and radishes on top were a nice touch. The street corn was nice and tangy. We finished off with the Mile High Cake for our party of 6. Wow! It was so delicious! The butter cream frosting wasn't sickly sweet like some frostings are. It went down very nicely. Good dinner experience!

Yelp
This place is still incredible. Due to weather conditions, we chose to dine inside this time around. It is definately a different vibe inside. For some reason outside felt more lively. However, we absolutely enjoyed the intimate aspect of it as we were with family. We went for their brunch. The waiter who assisted us was so kind and honest. My mom can only do a hint of spice on her food. So when we asked him the level of spice, he was kind enough to bring a bit of the salsa out for her to try. Thank goodness she did as she wouldn't have been able to eat that dish had she ordered it. Honestly, it was the level of service that makes this place exceptional. She was able to get a dish more her palette. We enjoyed their bottomless and good coversation. This place is a staple if you come to Palm Springs.

Yelp
Perfect evening at The Tropicale! We ate outside, and their winter setup is cozy and intimate, yet still has the Palm Springs vacation-like vibe: colorful, greenery, and lively. The ambiance makes it a great spot for a date night, girls night, or family time. Service was fast and our server offered great recommendations. The recommended Pear Martini was a strong but excellent addition to my rice bowl; my boyfriend's jalapeno margarita complimented his brie burger (yum!). I can't sing enough praises for this place. It is becoming a go-to when I'm in town.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to drop by here for Sunday brunch and I'm glad we did. To drink I ordered an Espresso Martini and wow! It was one of the best ones I've ever had! Not icy, silky smooth and not too sweet! To eat I had the chicken gyro and it was pretty good. The portions were also very good as well. Definitely give this place a try!

Yelp
We came to Palm Springs with a large group to celebrate a friend and this was one of the chosen restaurants! The restaurant was cool and nice but the food was okay. The restaurant had a wide variety of food from southern food, to Thai, to Indian, to Vietnamese, to pizza. It was interesting to say the least! I ordered the chefs special which was Vietnamese shaking beef salad as well as the pupu platter. The two meals I got were not great or memorable. The meat was dry and the salad was too sweet with an overcooked steak. Overall, I would look for another restaurant. Everything on this menu was very pricey and no one at our 10 person table enjoyed their meal.

Yelp
Came here with a group of 7 and got a reservation on a busy weekend. Good: - The food portions here are huge! And happy hour goes until 7. - I liked the fried calamari and the pizza we got from the happy hour menu, the firecracker shrimp was so tasty too! - The main entree I got was the a pasta, and it was great -the ragu was fresh and it was chewy - The desserts were tasty and I liked the baked Alaska a lot as well as the huge huge chocolate pie slice we got Bad: - Pretty expensive overall, about $100pp - Super dim inside, so a little hard to see each other - Takes some time to flag down waiters - Didn't feel incredibly upscale, though it had a price tag associated with it Overall this place was fun for a one time hangout, but I didn't think it was super unique or special.

Yelp
Very good food and great service. Something different. The ambient is good. The location is great.

Yelp
I haven't dined here in years and my friend decided to have his birthday dinner at The Tropicale. It's a great venue and feels very Palm Springs. Our server was great and very attentive. He even remembered that it was a birthday dinner. However, the food was not memorable. I saw on Yelp a photo of the mahi mahi fried fish tacos but didn't realize it was from 3 years ago until afterwards. When it came out I almost chuckled by the presentation. It was 2 very small tacos on a plate - the fish was on a very sparse bed of slaw with a little wasabi flavored dressing. It was dry and flavorless. For over $20, it was not worth it. Also, they should have put the fish on the bottom and have more slaw on top with a better dressing. It felt weird biting into the taco. If they just added more cabbage filling it would have tricked me into thinking it was worth the price. The fried tiger shrimp appetizer was good. The dressing tasted good and I liked the cucumber bedding. I was still hungry and ordered a marguerita pizza. It was all cheese and again wasn't memorable. The cocktails were also just ok. I ordered the Palamo cocktail on the menu. I probably just ordered the wrong items but they were all highly recommended by the server.

Yelp
Food, Service and Ambiance were all fabulous with the help of our server Dominick! We ladies will be back!

Yelp
The ambiance of the place is very lively and loud. It's a very popular spot for bachelorette parties and special occasion dinners. The service was very nice and attentive. Our server was quick and efficient and provided good recommendations. My friend and I came here after a spa day at a nearby resort. We each got an entree, a drink, and a side of broccoli. I got a salmon daily special dish and my friend got the chicken pasta. We both enjoyed our meals but thought this place was very pricey for the portions. I could still eat after finishing ALL of my entree, drink, and additional side. Overall I would not come back as I'm sure there are other places with great food that is much more affordable.

Yelp
We went here for the first time on Friday during pride weekend and we were beyond pleased. The restaurant is giving that old hollywood Palm Springs vibe from the outside in. The ambiance is fantastic. We sat on the outdoor patio which felt like we were on vacation. The wait staff and the servers were so nice and friendly and the service was fantastic. The bottomless mimosa kept flowing without missing a beat.... we actually had to tell them we're good lol. The give you a complimentary appetizer while waiting for your food. It's a piece of pumpkin coffee cake which was so delicious omg. we asked for seconds because it was sooooo good , even though it was just complimentary lol smh. The menu had such a variety of foods to choose from. Everything we ordered came in large portions it could be shared so be careful when ordering. Everything was delicious. no complaints at all. Our waiter and the bus boy gave us great recommendations and they were a hit. we were happily stuffed and beyond satisfied when we left . The vibe, the energy, everything was a 10/10. we wil definitely be back the next time we're in palm springs.

Yelp
I do not use the word "Perfect" lightly. But we had as close to a "Perfect" night at Tropicale as I can remember having at any restaurant anywhere. The vibes were spot on. Vibrant, sophisticated, laid back good times. Drinks curated "Perfectly" to elevate the aforementioned good vibes. The staff was absolutely passionate, kind and professional. Each menu description read like some electrifying new genre of culinary fetish short stories... for true food lovers!!! And the plates delivered on the promises they teased. Delicious. Thank you Tropicale for a "Perfect" Night.... Palm Springs at its best! Update: The Ladies in our party asked me to note that this the Lady's room is the gold standard at which all other communal restrooms should draw inspiration from. Hands down the best :)

Yelp
Mom and I had lunch on the patio for the first time and two days later we went back for happy hour on Friday night at 5:00. Lunchtime was not busy at all but diner was packed! We got the last high top table in the whole restaurant. The girls at the front desk did everything they could to get us in which was much appreciated. Our lady server at lunch wasn't as nice as we would have liked but our steak salad and sauté peanut dished were really good. We looked at the desert menu and decided to skip it because we never saw such prices! They want between 21 and 24 dollars for cookies, cheesecake, banana split, etc. we were pretty full anyway. Two days later we had the works for happy hour. There is no drink menu so you have to ask. The well drinks were like $7 to $11! What a bargain. We loved everything from the pizza to the banana split. See pictures below. Special thanks to the girls at the front desk who even checked on us later and our fabulous waiter Gabriel who was so nice, efficient, and knowledgeable even though they were packed to the max! We will be back.

Yelp
Trop! Oh how I love this place so much. I have never had a dull time here, ALWAYS A PLEASURE The food, the staff, the ambiance. All the above! Literally, I almost forgot to mention how bomb the cucumber martini is Check out my pictures for reference

Yelp
The Tropicale is a fun and festive oasis, with retro decor and neon. I ask, what could be more Palm Springs? We were seated on the outdoor patio, next to a fountain. It was a cool evening, but we were bathed in the warmth of a few heat lamps. I had a coconut mojito, pretty but strong. We shared the Pupu platter (coconut tiger shrimp, Thai chicken satay, Korean beef skewers, Vietnamese spring rolls and Shanghai rolls.) This was full of flavor, and more than enough to satisfy us. Shockingly, we couldn't even think about ordering dinner, although that was our original plan, and the server was obviously disappointed. However, we did manage to call upon our reserves to summon the strength to order dessert: a cappuccino baked Alaska which was gelato covered with a meringue crust set alight with a rum flambe. A filling finale! The Tropicale was loud, crowded and full. I saw several dates and there was a bachelorette party all adorned with multicolored wigs. Dining here is an Occasion.

Yelp
If you want the true old school Palm Springs experience then this is a great choice. They have either street parking or a parking lot on the side so no worries there. You can get indoor or outdoor patio seating and you can choose between booths, tables or high tops. The patio has misting systems set up so the heat isn't too bad. Service is really good and the food comes out in just the right amount of time. Took one star off only because I got the wrong order and being somewhat dumb, I at a few bites before I realized it. Can't ask for the right order after 6 or 8 bites I don't think so whatever..it was still good just not what I ordered.

Yelp
Last night we had a group of 30, as we frequently do. It was another flawless execution on everyone's part. Dan, Josh, the wait staff and the kitchen could not have done better. The food and service was terrific and we look forward to returning. Thank you all for a very fun evening.

This place was so fun. Truly a Palm Springs vibe with great people watching. Elevated food with good variety on the menu.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now, once for dinner and a couple times for brunch and the one common thing I've found with all the times here, it's very consistent. The service always top notch, the atmosphere always lively and fun, and the food always delicious. They have a huge menu so there's a lot to choose from no matter what you're hungry for that day. The drink menu is a good size too and they definitely don't skimp...big thumbs up there. Of the things I've had my favorite were the fried rice dishes. One was Hawaiian style with spam and one was Filipino style. Mark H actually had the Filipino one but I got to sneak some of it, very tasty. The other thing that I always look forward to is the blueberry crumb cake they serve complimentary at brunch. That coffee cake is moist and tasty. Tropicale is definitely one of those places that's always packed and for very good reason.

Yelp
#ReviewUpdate Wow, what a very unprofessional reply. We were not drunk. That was their first drink that they ordered and 2 of those were virgin piña coladas! Nice try wrong table. Can you tell me what date it was? Can you tell me any of that cause I'm not even from California so when you can tell me what date that was I would like to hear because you don't know who we are , nice try! what a horrible reply . My partner is a chef and I'm just speaking from my experience, but I did say the burger was really good. So you should take that and run with it. the food came out cold. It was not set underneath the heat lamp. It was cold, and some of it was left to die in the window.... So maybe you should take some constructive criticism.. Also, the waiter. Dominic was amazing.! I can't forget his name because that is my son's name! ------------------ Original review : Was not impressed. The only thing decent was the brisket burger... no flavors went for my friends after wedding getaway dinner.

Yelp
Guess we saved the best dinner during our Palm Springs trip for last! It was New Year's Day 2024 and my Huskies were playing UT for the Sugar Bowl at night. Tropicale is located near the Aqua Caliente casino in downtown Palm Springs. They have a tiny parking lot, but apparently plenty of street parking. The restaurant looks small from the outside but inside its huge with lots of patio seating, bar seating, and dining area. The ambiance is dark, trendy, and almost a nightclub or sports bar feel. You can almost imagine this restaurant being inside a casino. The food was outstanding! Hybrid of American dishes with some Asian and Island flair. We ordered: 1. Drinks to ring in 2024. The Coconut Martini is definitely 5 stars while the Raspberry Lemon Drop was a bit too tart and fruity. 2. Miso-glazed salmon was perfectly cooked and came with a generous heap of seasoned veggies. We subbed jasmine rice for the default black rice (5 stars). 3. Tomahawk Pork chop was also awesome. Super juicy and tender pork with cheesy and bacony flavors. Pork on pork, LOL. (5 stars) 4. Crispy Boneless Southern Fried Chicken loved up to its name - thin, crispy skin with some soft, juicy meat underneath. It came with a side of succotash for a complete meal. Obviously we ordered too much food for 2 adults and a 3yo. Luckily all the entrees we ordered were 5 stars in taste and quality. Not a bad splurge in Palm Springs to welcome in 2024!

Yelp
The Tropicale is always on my list to stop at when in Palm Springs. The bartenders are always so nice, and you are never sitting with an empty glass. Service is top notch! We love going for happy hour. Ask for the drink specials, but there are discounts on beer, house wines, and well drinks/cocktails. Drinks are the best part! The happy hour food menu is more of a regular menu than happy hour, as the prices are not necessarily a deal. That's the only reason I knocked off a star. There are lots of good options though. We have had the green beans, hummus, chopped salad, and lettuce cups, and all we good! We live the vibe and decor. It's fun inside and outside. There are always lots of locals who are so nice as well. You can always find a fun conversation there! Already looking forward to my next trip to Palm Springs and The Tropicale!

Yelp
Tropicale is one of our favorite places. We bring our out of town guests here to experience the true Palm Springs. In winter, we appreciate the patio heaters, and in summer their misters, but whatever the season, we appreciate their incredible cosmopolitan drinks. I drink them all around the world, but other than the ones my husband makes at home, these are the best. Tonight, our server, Richard, provided the professional service we expect here. I loved the edamame, and my ahi tuna was exceptional as always. After the patio dining, we moved into the bar to enjoy Tuesday night's live jazz trio, along with our grand marnier. A special night, we plan to repeat it the next two Tuesday nights.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night while in town for something to eat. Came here based on reviews. Had no reservations but they were able to accommodate with seating by the bar. I sat and was immediately greeted by a waiter. I ordered a coconut martini for my drink and IT WaS DELICIOUS!!! My first coconut martini and would definitely try it again. I ordered the chicken jalapeno pizza and it was good. the place is a tad bit pricey with my martini at $20 and pizza at $26. But good vibe and service

Yelp
The Tropicale in Palm Springs is THE VIBE. My family has been here on 3 occasions, all holidays including Easter brunch, Christmas, and Thanksgiving. Not only is the space gorgeous with ambiance galore, but the food is amazing and beautifully presented. Most importantly, the service is gold standard, seamless, and joyful, even on holidays. I am especially grateful to the Tropicale as we have a handicapped family member that they made easy for us to celebrate Thanksgiving with today. He was over the moon to be there. Special thanks to our amazing server, Sergio, and all of his support staff on the patio. We had a beautiful holiday and are grateful for their incredible care for us.

Yelp
EATERS BEWARE... I was served and ate uncooked, raw chicken at this place! Michelle, the manager on duty was very apologetic at the time, said and did all the right things, urging me to contact her directly should I become ill in the days to follow. However, when I sent a text message to Michelle's cell phone two days later, she did not respond to it and she also didn't copy me on her email to her manager, Dan Bunde, documenting the incident as she had promised to do. Complete fail by the chef and also by Michelle for not keeping her word. Horrible experience that ruined my Christmas vacation as I worried about becoming seriously sick with salmonella poisoning from consuming uncooked chicken. Thumbs down to Tropicale and its staff. I will never go back.

Yelp
Every time we come to Palm Springs for a weekend getaway, this is one of our go to restaurants! The food and service here is always amazing and top-notch, and the prices are extremely reason for this classy establishment! Good variety of food choices for large groups, and very good cocktails!

Yelp
This is the place to be if you're in downtown PS on a Monday. It's really a popular place, so we were squeezed in without reservations on a Monday. Such a nice vibe, dark inside main dining room. If you have a choice, sit outside. Reservations would be preferable since this place is always packed after 5. Anything you order will be good. Service is a ten. All orders turned over quick.

Yelp
Still one of our favorite Palm Springs spots. Wonderful ambiance on the patio w/ lively music and mixers; fun cocktails, great service, and unique delicious food. This time, came for Restaurant Week, so got to order 3 plates each for $59/person. I had the fresh strawberry sangria (very fruity and friesh), crispy tempura prawn and green beans - amazing!! And Madame Wu's Chinese Chicken Salad - so good; reminded me of Chin Chin's salad at its best. My husband had the sesame tuna tartare, avocado, mango and sushi rice stack - beautiful and delicious, their signature Crispy Boneless Southern Fried Chicken w/ mashed potatoes and gravy - unbelievable! And for desert, the chocolate. Brownie walnut gelato. Wow. Love this place!

Yelp
One of the most enjoyable meals we've had in a long time. The ambiance is very dark and subdued, the drinks were a work of art, the tapas were all superb. There were 4 of us and we opted for the Pupu platter, crispy nori rolls, and the tempura prawns. This was just the right amount of food. the prawns were really quite spectacular. All the deserts looked wonderful, but at the end we opted to share the baked Alaska, something we hadn't had in decades. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Been here multiple times whenever we visit PS and it's always great vibes; food, and drinks. The staff are friendly and Tony D's responses on this app are amazing! "chef's kiss!" I wish more businesses would stand up for their staff and call out entitled patrons more often. It's refreshing to read and very entertaining.

Yelp
Creativity in the Halloween decorations. They even have a "high voltage chair". Love the vibe and our waitress was really sweet. Specialize in fried chicken. Huge

Yelp
First time here tonight celebrating an anniversary. Beautifully decorated vintage Hawaiiana inspired decor & friendly service from the moment we walked in. The pupu platter was good & those chicken satay skewers were honestly the best I've ever tasted! I'll definitely be back for those. We had the huge punch bowl drink in a clamshell for $82. It was very tasty. Andrea was our server for the night & she was fabulous! My parents loved their pizza. My husband & I had the fried chicken & it was good. We will definitely be back for that chicken satay & some drinks. Thank you for the nice evening Tropicale.

Yelp
This place is just fun! Super cute tropical vibe and ambiance. Our server was super helpful and gave a lot of feedback (apologies I don't remember her name) and cocktails are on point. My friend and I ordered the Pupu platter and it was delish! Will come back again!

Yelp
The Tropicale is a VIBE! Everytime income here I feel like I'm in Miami. We sat at the bar and our server was Albina. She kept the bottomless mimosas flowing and was the most attentive staff member I've ever encountered! Food was great as always! Still our #1 brunch spot!

Yelp
I love the Tropicale!!!!!! I have lived here in Palm Springs for 20 years now and I have been going to Tropicale very often. It's so great to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries or any event there. The staff is great. The owners are awesome and the bartenders make the best drinks! And the menu changes weekly and the ambience is awesome! It is a must go to in Palm Springs if you come here and especially if you have people visiting from out of town, you must bring them here!! It's a Palm Springs staple

Yelp
This place is super cute, we loved the exterior seating. Felt very Palm Springs-y. We got the martinis to start, which were good, but the blood orange left me with an upset stomach unfortunately (probably just me!). To start we got the crab wedge salad which i think was on the rotating menu but regardless this one was good, with an abundant amount of crab for a salad. What i loved is that the waiter split the salad into two plates for us already!!!! Not pictured but we also got the hawaiian pizza. SUPER GOOD, but have definitely had better. Regardless would definitely come here again!!!!!

Yelp
We just closed on a home here in Palm Springs and our real estate agent wanted to take us out to celebrate. We are new in town (and our agent is from LA) so we didn't know which restaurant to choose. A friend suggested The Tropicale and I am glad he did. We made a reservation for 5:30pm on a Monday. When we pulled up, we were surprised to hear so many people out on the patio. The inside was not yet crowded and we met our friends in a nice corner booth. They had ordered drinks that they were enjoying. Our terrific server, I wish I could recall his name, was friendly and fast in taking our drink and food orders. My wife had the popular fried chicken with mashed potatoes and black-eyed pea succotash. My friends ordered the pork chop (HUGE) and the chicken salad. I had the steak fajita on a skewer. We all enjoyed our food. The portions are huge and most of us had leftovers to take home. My steak was delicious, I enjoyed it. Desert (it was my birthday plus the new home celebration) was a piece of giant chocolate cream pie. It had a candle and I was serenaded by my friends and our server and busser. A lovely evening. Looking forward to returning for Happy Hour now that I am a local.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow! Great food and fresh shrimp. The Tropicale is a perfect example of how fresh food should look. We enjoyed our prawns and pizza immensely. Their customer service was above and beyond, especially when they surprised us with a cheesecake at the end. All the positive reviews are accurate--this is definitely a place you won't regret visiting!

Yelp
I love this restaurant and bar. Now the ambiance is loud, very busy and alive. The food is excellent, as are the asthetically beautiful drink creations. The appetizers and entrees are welcoming, and very delicious. Top notch service, and overall we had the best time. A must try when visiting Palm Springs

Yelp
I walked in by myself late on a Wednesday night. I was greated and seated immediately. I enjoyed the outdoor area and the abundance of plants. But then I sat and waited for over 20 minutes for any servers to pay attention to me. I made eye contact with several servers who passed by my table but none of them came to talk to me. One bus person did refill my water while I was waiting and still no one came to check on me to find out if I was ready to place my order. I finally had to flag down the hostess to let her know that no one was helping me. My server did explain what happened but didn't really apologize for the inconvenience nor did anyone offer to discount my bill or comp anything for the trouble. I ordered a non-alcoholic version of their lemongrass basil mojito which was OK. The star of the show, and what I specifically went to have, was the Thai lime and Chile steak salad. I knew it would be more than one meal's worth of food for me since the steak was 10 oz. So I got the dressing on the side. I was happy I did and it definitely kept until lunch the next day. The steak itself was cooked perfectly and the dressing was super flavorful. I don't know that I would go again just for that salad, given the price point and that service experience. But it was a really good salad!

Yelp
Today is my mother's 89th birthday so I made a reservation for brunch for 7 of us, on the patio surrounded by tropical plants and we asked to be seated by the fountain, which we were. It was beautiful and with the misters, it felt very tropical and a world away from the desert. The service by Andy was excellent; we appreciated his attentiveness. The food was delicious- my husband had the flat iron steak with guacamole, I had the lox and crème fraîche flatbread covered with capers, my mom shared the chilaquiles and the crab wedge salad with her boyfriend, her sister had the Cobb, my cousin had the steak as well, and his wife had chilaquiles as well. Everything was cooked perfectly, including the steaks which my husband, being French, likes bloody rare. We did try a bit of the hollandais and although we were pleased to find that it was made on site, it needed more lemon juice, and a bit of cayenne to balance the flavor. We had a wonderful time and will be back soon!
