A Community Gem with Flavor, Heart, and Consistency ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5) I’ve been coming to this restaurant for many years, and it’s consistently one of my favorites. Whether I’m ordering one of my go-to dishes or trying something new, the food is always delicious and beautifully presented. The attention to detail in both flavor and plating is consistently impressive. What really sets this place apart is the combination of excellent customer service and strong community involvement. They regularly give back through charitable efforts and host fun, themed events each month. We’ve attended a few, and Doris always does a phenomenal job with the decor and atmosphere—each event feels unique and welcoming. This is a fantastic spot for a casual dinner with friends or family, especially with the green space nearby where kids can safely run around. On some nights, they also have live music, which adds to the already lively and enjoyable environment. Food highlights: – The tuna tower is a must—I’ve had it several times and it never disappoints. – The chicken soup tastes like a comforting pot pie in a bowl—rich, hearty, and full of perfectly cooked vegetables and moist chicken. – The bang bang shrimp is another favorite—crispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-balanced sauce. This is more than just a restaurant—it’s a place that makes you feel at home, while still offering the kind of quality and experience that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

My Husband and I came to visit here on Friday of “Spring Break 25” From Beginning to End it was Absolutely Amazing place is Beautiful. Our server came and checked on us every Few seconds Which made us more comfortable. Expressed the menu about things we should try which made us order more. Food was VERY GOOD AND Seasoned Very Well. Everything we asked for we Gotten. The Goat cheese with Bacon yam was our first ever trying something so unique and it was phenomenal like wow ! Food was SO FRESH! (We couldn’t stop eating) My Husband and I were only disappointed at ourselves after we left was not trying a Dessert. However , Trust we will be back ! 10/10 Recommend! Music was Awesome ,We can’t wait to see the live music our server expressed to us . We felt so comfortable Here it was truly a pleasure and we were able to truly enjoy ourselves together.

Tried this place for the first time over the weekend and it was pretty great. The portions were large and everything was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and courteous. My only small gripe is that the bill already had gratuity included (not a big deal) but when paying the prompt asked for tip (not Additional tip) so that was kinda misleading. It caught my eye because it had values of 3, 5 & 7%. But again, that’s a minor complaint but worth noting. All in all, I would definitely come back.

It seemed a little chaotic at first, but we ended up having a great time. Stacey provided a nice experience for Easter brunch, and we appreciated Rebecca stopping by the table also. The food was good and came out timely. The espresso martini was a little sweeter than I like, but overall decent. They had an Easter menu, but not much decor and the young lady at the hostess stand seemed unsure of herself and she wasn't able to find our reservation despite someone in our party checking in moments before we arrived. Outside of those little thinhs, I look forward to returning, as we were encouraged to sign up for their email list because they have specials and activities.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate Mother’s Day, and it was truly perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable, making it a beautiful setting for such a special day. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and the service was outstanding. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated — you could taste the quality in every bite. They even surprised us with a little something extra for all the moms! It made the day feel even more special. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate — highly recommend!

I finally found an American restaurant whose hummus rivals Local Table. Except, the pita bread at Union is exceptional and like a mini cheese pizza sans marinara, which makes the hummus plate exceptional. The Union breakfast was delicious as was the side of a waffle. The goat cheese was great but needs more pita bread as does the hummus. The only negative was the gravy on the biscuit was bland and tasted mire like turkey gravy on Thanksgiving than breakfast gravy and that it took an extraordinary long time to receive our hummus and then our food. Other than that, it was an excellent brunch on a Saturday afternoon.

Brunch done right! The Bloody Mary is top-notch—spicy, bold, and fully loaded. I made it myself with this Bloody Mary bar. And for $19.00 the mimosa bottle special is a steal! Perfect way to kick back while we wait on our Peggy’s Omelet, Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, and California Benedict. Weekend mornings don’t get much better than this!

Delicious brunch! There were not many gluten-free options marked on the menu, but I was able to modify a dish (no bread) to make it gluten-free, and I had no issues with illness!

Wife and I visited today for lunch. The restaurant has great ascetics and our waitress was great. I would like to add, Our waitress was 5 star. I had the hamburger bowl with an over easy egg. The egg was cooked perfect however, I ordered the patty medium and received very cooked medium well. There was very little cheese and no bacon bits could be found. Overall the hamburger bowl was good but, not worth the price. My wife had the Katie-Mae's Pizza. The pizza was definitely 4 meat and had a great presentation. But once you grabbed a slice, it went down hill from there. The crust both on sides and bottom was like a soft wet piece of bread. My wife ate the toppings off most of the pizza and a select few slices were worth eating the whole slice.

First visit today Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the friendliness person. Our drink orders were taken immediately and a few minutes late we placed our meal order. The food was delivered within a reasonable time and was delicious and the aroma mouth watering. My lunch mate was just appealing as the atmosphere. Thank you for a great first experience.

Union Kitchen is a good place for Personal pizza, burgers or a light plate with cocktails. They have an excellent cocktail menu and a happy hour to make the prices happier. There's almost always an acoustic band playing outside to add to the ambience and the nearby businesses offer alternative for dessert if you're of the mind

The lobster bisque was amazing! Full of lots of flavor. The Bang Bang Shrimp with Asian slaw was delicious and with a kick.

Came in a Monday night to grab a nice meal and a glass of wine. I really enjoy how easy it is to get a table on the week nights and enjoy the selection of wine. Service was fantastic as it usually is. Definitely a place you go casual or dress up- either way you'll be great. My favorite meal there is the salmon with fresh veggies! It's always cooked how I request and the veggies never disappoint.

Went here for Mother's Day and have a great time. We had a reservation and was seated very quickly. I loved that our reservation was honored as most restaurants will still have you wait. The ambiance was really nice. Gave upscale vibes but on a really affordable price. Loved that. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure our needs were met. We also had a few other servers assist when needed. Loved that they tagged teamed the tables. Now The food review....... I had Garlic Shrimp Scampi....... Hated it. Lacked flavor. I had to add salt and pepper and even red pepper flakes to jazz it up... but it didn't help. I was just bland. The shrimp were juicy but the entire dish lacked flavor. But has potential to be a great dish. I will come back but maybe try something different next time.

I've been waiting to try this place for a while. We were sat as soon as we walked in. Waited for 15 minutes and were never approached by a server. We ended up leaving to the ramen place across the way. The hostess was super sweet and apologetic. Will be back to try again another time. UPDATE: ok this update comes pretty quickly after the original post. Manager of TUK read my review, came to the ramen place we were eating at next door and sincerely apologized. I'm literally speechless. That is top notch, above and beyond, heartfelt customer service. I haven't even tried the food yet but give this place your business. Amazing

My French toast was soggy. Awful. Husband's meal biscuits and gravy ok. Nice ambience. Service with Jessica was absolutely great!

The French toast was fresh & flavorful. I can't remember what everyone else had... I was too preoccupied with my food.

I was pleasantly surprised. I had been to another location years ago and had a bad experience so I never wanted to give this place a try but it was absolutely delicious. We tried a variety of appetizers that were all amazing. The lobster grilled cheese had lots of lobster in it. The carnitas eggrollls were awesome. The drinks were also well done. The service was great and even the chef came out to greet our big party. Oh and the beignets for dessert. Chef's kiss. Very modern and great atmosphere.

The ambiance and service were great. Most food was good but a little more seasoning would have been good. The bang bang shrimp are the best thing on the menu in my opinion but the drinks & service were great

Fantastic evening out celebrating my Mom's leap year birthday!  Our server Joe picked up on us there to celebrate and was so sweet to my Mom!  Without us even having to ask, Joe handed us the happy hour menus so we could get in an order of appetizers before 6:30!  Everything ordered was so good!  Highly recommend the Bang Bang Shrimp and Spinach Dip.  To top it off, Joe brought out a sweet treat for my Mom with a candle and even did a little jig for her!  She was beyond thrilled!  Fantastic food, service and ambiance!  Can't beat that!

Wow! We have not been here in years and I've been missing out. We will definitely be back. Great service and amazing food!!

I was looking for a cute brunch spot in Katy, and I found one! Union Kitchen was open, spacious, and neatly decorated for the holidays- they even had holiday event plans with menus! There was a Bloody Mary "bar," but I wasn't sure if it was self-serve, decor, or for staff only lol. I ordered the captains chicken biscuit which was such a fun and elevated brunch dish. The chicken was fried in captain crunch cereal giving it a bit of a sweet edge and it was placed on top of the best breakfast bread ever- BISCUITS! I also ordered the hash hangover burger. I loved the hash cake. I did, however find the description of onion strings misleading as there were whole onion rings in the burger. I prefer thinner and crispier onions over onion rings, but that's just me. Our waitress was extremely friendly. I'm a picky drinker, and when I told her I found my holiday drink too strong, she immediately whipped up a whole cup of cream and gave it to me to add to my drink! Overall, I can't wait to come back to try more of their menu and/or attend one of their events!

My family and I wanted to try a new restaurant and after reading the reviews we decided to try out The Union Kitchen in Katy. I ordered the Cajun pasta, my husband ordered a burger & fries, and my child ordered pepperoni pizza. The food was delicious and the portions were big. The service and staff was great and attentive! I would definitely come back here and recommend this restaurant for others.

Fui especialmente a comer en este lugar el domingo pasado con mi familia, una señora nos atendió e hizo pasar, nos sentamos y luego nos dejaron solos, pasaban los minutos y no nos llevaron el menú, éramos los únicos sentados en las mesas, el lugar estaba vacío, simplemente nos dejaron solos y nunca nos atendieron, como pasamos mucho tiempo esperando decidimos que era mejor irnos... nos paramos y salimos del lugar, ni se dieron cuenta que nos fuimos porque simplemente nadie estaba atendiendo.

Goat cheese dip was amazing! Love the bread served with it. The carnitas eggrolls and the slaw were delish! Also ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits could have been my main meal they were so good. Mikal provided great service. We had a group of 8 with four kiddos. Super patient and detailed; didn't miss a beat. Looking forward to coming back!

I experienced this Katy location. The restaurant is so clean and beautifully decorated for the holidays. I was greeted upon entry from the patio area. I redeemed my coupon for a pastry. The server Jessica was very friendly. Our small convo about the restaurant was very insightful. My beignets arrived to my table, smelling delightfully delicious and looked like the desserts you see on tv. The inside of the pastry was warm and fluffy. I can't wait to experience the full service dinner night vibes. I'll be back for sure with my husband.

Colorado omelette was amazin. Well seasoned and unique, and a huge portion. Really enjoyed it. The chicken and waffles was bland though, nothing remarkable and lacking in real flavors. The coffee was considerably cold over and over. The dog friendly patio made it a nice place for the day. Service was lovely

We have enjoyed many Union kitchen meals, but not the one in Katie so we decided to try it after a baseball game at Tompkins. The decor was OK. It was open not a lot of privacy and kind of noisy. We ordered the fish and chips and it was really mediocre. The fish was soggy inside although the batter was crispy and the chips were nothing but french fries , the tartar sauce and red sauce again was mediocre. The burgers that was good, but again pretty standard. The high spot where the voodoo balls they were excellent and the sauce was over the top. It was an OK meal a little bit pricey, but OK.

Union kitchen never disappoints. Good is always delicious and hits the spot. Love the Music and always have good service.

Our amazing Meal was served to us by Rain, she was super friendly and attentive. She was able to help my son decide between his top two choices and he was so glad her tried the Captain's Chicken. Shown in our picture here: Christy Crab Deviled Eggs, Red Velvet Beignets, Peggy's Lobster Omelet, Captain's Chicken sandwich, Country Benedict, breakfast Old Fashion, Bloody Mary Everything was cooked perfectly. We appreciate the visual appeal and the vibrancy of flavors in every meal we have here.

I had the best experience with the manager Ali. he was so attentive. He checks up on us frequently to ensure we had the best experience possible. We will be coming back because of his hospitality.

I don't consider myself a demanding customer but I do know what I like and what I don't. This is my first time at this location so I was looking forward to a new experience. I was great when I walked in. I might have been having a Goldie Locks moment... I am height challenged and she tried to seat me at one of those high tables. I asked for a regular table and then she sat me under the Arctic blast. (Now don't get me wrong, I luv some A/C on a hot day but it was really cold and blowing pretty hard). I asked to move and she said, "Where would you like to sit?", then I am guessing the manager stepped in and told her to seat me in the main dining area. Once seated the wait person took my drink order as I waiting for my dining companions. When they arrived, we looked over the menu and ordered our food. I had the burger which I have ordered at other Union Kitchens. For some reason this burger did not live up to the memories. It was cooked ok but it was meh... I don't know what else to say. Maybe I should have ordered a waffle.

I found the restaurant on the Texas Wine Lover app. Thank you for carrying Texas wine! Not only did our waiter know which wine we wanted,but he had actually tasted it before. That is very rare in my experience with many restaurants. I wish I could remember his name. But I am including the picture we took. The manager on duty could not have been nicer. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but not too intrusive. The food was terrific. We really had a nice time. I will be recommending your location to everyone. My brother in law just moved to this area and he was happy to have found such a nice place. He did not think there were many restaurants around. I know it is a tough decision sometimes in ordering more unique wines for your list. I want to make sure you are recognized for supporting Texas wines. Thank you again and GoTexan!

Our food was wonderful and the service was great!! Also they had live music on a Friday night on their patio. I recommend making a reservation.

Union Kitchen is amazing! The food selection is great. The portions are huge and the service is the icing on the cake. Not to mention the music! Chef's kiss! I have so many items that I would like to try out during my next visit. If you're looking for a delicious brunch menu this is the place to go.

The food was really good. My only complaint was when I asked the waiter what was in the purple haze he failed to mention jalapeño it was not on the brunch menu so I was not aware but the general manager saw I was not drinking it and came over and offered another option. She was very attentive and informative honestly a great manager! She made my lemon drop personally and delivered it to my table. They had live jazz playing so the ambiance was very nice and welcoming. Her service and attentiveness was top tier! The other manager Deyonce was very warm and welcoming as well! I'll definitely be back.

Stopped in today after work. Happened to hit happy hour. Selected a great glass of Chardonnay off the menu and hummus. One of my favorites there. The bartender Tomas, (I think ) was very engaging. As always not disappointed.

The outdoor patio area was a hit for my kids. The pizza and chicken tenders were so good.

It's just average with a menu that could be much more. The service was OK but there doesn't seem to be much training that goes on as the waitress had no clue on how to open a bottle of wine let alone present it. Then the cabernet was ice cold and the bartender stated that was how he liked it. Very odd.

Servjce was outstanding and the food was very delightful! Couldn't ask for more. Definitely at the top of our list.

RESPONSE TO OWNER: it was the border egg rolls. The menu in the restaurant did not list any pork in the rolls. And the manager on staff admitted that pork products are present in the food despite not being listed on the menu. The manager did try her best to make this right and was extremely professional. But it still is concerning when I asked the server several times and was assured over and over pork wasn't in it.

Everything is 5 *. Good is flavorful and many choices for every taste pallet. Servers are friendly and helpful with choices. All the what when and why's are answered. We will be back to this local restaurant to enjoy the choices offered on their menu.

Not sure what happened to my last review, but here it is again. Ordered Filet Mignon Medallions and was served slices of Eye-of-the-Round. Not going back.

We have eaten at 2 locations and the food is always delicious. This time, at the Katy location, we ate pistachio chicken and Tyler's chicken pasta. Both menu items were delicious. The restaurant was a little busy for a Thursday night. There were 3 servers, but the food delivery was a bit delayed. We regretted not ordering an appetizer as were a bit hungry. One of the servers apologized and said they were short staff. We loved our meal and will dine again.

My wife and I had not been to this restaurant location in approximately two years. Covid seemed to prevent us from going out much. We are now trying to correct that and decided to stop by Union Kitchen in Katy. Unbeknownst to us, we arrived when they were starting Happy Hour. Given it was several hours before dinner, we ordered from their small plate's menu. The food was absolutely outstanding and plentiful enough that we could share several of the small dish offerings. The drinks were superb, as well. We had a wonderful time due to the outstanding service provided by Joe, the bartender, turned server on this day. Joe has a great personality and treated us as if we were the only patrons in the restaurant. We will definitely eat here again soon!!! Thanks Joe, and thanks Union Kitchen - Katy!

We came here for Happy Hour and we were not disappointed. The appetizer were delicious with generous portions. Joe made the best Moscow Mules we've ever had and his personality lit up the place. Thank you Joe! We'll be back.

Our second time to eat here. First time was lunch and it was fantastic. This time was dinner and the food was excellent! We really liked the dinner menu and the ambience. The service could have been better but giving them the benefit of the doubt we had a great time!

Third time to visit this location. I had a comfortable afternoon lunch. Server was very attentive, and made sure I had plenty of iced tea on this hot afternoon. I ordered the Asian Salad with Tuna. Salad was very flavorful, and the Tuna was cooked nicely. Will stop in again when I am in this part of town.

Brunch was okay the day I went 1/21/23... There was a musician there who was way too loud for the size of the space and the tables were crowded together which was a bit awkward. The hostess seemed inconvenienced to have more than one group to seat at a time and our server was okay to start but seriously pushy over ordering alcohol and then he disappeared once our food arrived. Overall it's an okay brunch, but there's other spots I would rather patronize.

Mikal has been our waiter on more than one occasion. He is funny, attentive but not pushy. He remembers us each time we return which is such a nice touch. Food is always solid and service makes it all that much better!

Friday night out and decided to take it casual at the bar. Thomas the bartender was fantastic. He showed us some of his amazing drinks he was making. I ended up having a Purple Haze. I generally don't do sweet cocktails by this one has a jalapeño-blueberry infused simple syrup that had a tiny kick at the end. I ended up ordering two. The margarita pizza was perfect. The crust was great and not too heavy. The restaurant is not loud and it set up to where you can have privacy in multiple locations. The staff was on top of all of our needs. We will definitely be back!

Sat on the patio for dinner, it was perfect. There was live music in the square, kids were playing, sun was setting and all the string lights came on. Vibe was perfect for date night. Food was AMAZING. Cocktails were perfect. We will return

This is my third review and I do so bc I want places I like to stay open and continue the quality that brings people back. Most stars to the three staffers that took care of us: hostess, server and I believe manager. The food and drinks came out on time, they were all very courteous and apologetic for the mess of a dish I got. One star to the wine list. Very limited by the glass. I only ever got cocktails before, I should have stuck to that. to my dish Portobello Chicken came with a dry chicken breast, smothered with an unintelligible sauce with 6 mushroom slices, about a half a pound of charred Brussels sprouts and a sad extremely over salted "risotto" (pictured). As I said, staff was understanding, friendly and apologetic and brought a free dessert as an apology. I declined a new side as offered bc I didn't want to have them make more food that I may not finish. My husband and oldest shared a pasta dish, which they liked ok and my other son ate half a huge kids sized pizza which was also ok. I really hope they can get a grip on taking pride in every dish bc we love the environment outside but we may just have to try some of the other places in the plaza.

I'll have to say location location is great, along with their facilities is beautiful, what's missing is quality tasting food. There were 5 of us that all something different, of the 5 only one eating a hamburger was happy. In my case I ordered soup and sandwich, with vegetables soup, they brought out sandwiches and tomatoes soup with extra cost vegetables soup, to be honest of the three, I would not suggest any. I was really hoping for a restaurant with good food, good service. Our waiter started out good, then more people came, and our server couldn't keep up with nothing. Im not sure we will ever come back, if the food was good and service was bad it's one thing, but there is nothing at all that will bring me or my $250.00 bill back. Next stop some place different!

Union Kitchen remains one of my family's favorite restaurant. The food has remained delicious and service from Mikal has continued to be excellent. He has an exceptional memory and anticipates his customers needs. I continue to highly recommend Union Kitchen.

The food is very tasty and well executed. I really like the tomato bisque. They have different takes on dishes served in other restaurants. Food quality is excellent Our server Mikal was exceptional, very friendly and attentive.
