I came here for my birthday week dining out at different restaurants for the week. I really wanted to like this restaurant, it looks great and the menu sounded delicious. They did a great job with the interior, very French and New York.
But as soon as we were sat, we were tended by this unfriendly waitress. She was rushing and seemed very impolite. Throughout the whole service, she just didn’t have patience and wanted to get us out of the place. I wasn’t even finished with my drink and she already took it away without asking. So this was a big minus.
The food - for a place that was featured in Michelin guide - was subpar. The chicharron was delicious, the signature spicy friend chicken was bland and spiceless and hard as bricks. The sautéed mushrooms were so bitter and salty. The recommended duck confit was mediocre and potatoes were hard. At this point we wanted to order steak or more food but was just put off by the lack of taste and awful aftertaste… my friend decided to order the creme caramel pudding - he said it was bitter.
I really wanted to like this place. But with the bad service, lackluster food and seeing everyone doing the course dinner and their food looked even worse… I think this kitchen needs to have a meeting and taste their own food and presentation. Also need to give attitude adjustment to that waitress but the other staff were friendly and nice.
