The Vault on First

Me and my fiancé came in for our anniversary, and we had a lovely experience. The food was great, and the server Kristen D was AWESOME. We aren’t super fancy or up scale people, but she made us feel welcome, like we belonged. We loved that. She made my experience, and I would recommend anyone to go there just to see her. The only thing that I would complain about, is that we spent a pretty penny; and there was a family there who treated it like an Applebees. They had kids running and jumping around, and no one said a thing. Now I love children, but it did throw the upscale atmosphere off. I would recommend this restaurant to family and friends based off of my experience. I also HIGHLY recommend the Tomahawk.

My Husband and I came here Saturday for a late Birthday dinner and had an amazing time between drinks, food and service absolutely we will come back it is a little pricey but you have to treat your self every once and a while. Our server Daphne was absolutely amazing she treated us with respect and whit which I admire. Plus the sign in the ladies bathroom is outstanding.

love this place! pricey but quality. beware the staff have eyes and ears on the back of their head so make sure you only say good things about the food lol. they understand medium rare and most of the drinks are consistent! service is great. a nice more uppity pit stop in your downtown adventures.

From start to finish, our visit was outstanding. The only thing better than the food was the service. Daphne took care of our group of 14 and somehow made it look effortless. Our drinks were never even half empty, and she anticipated our needs before we could ask. Both Daphne and the chef were incredibly accommodating with dietary restrictions and made thoughtful adjustments without hesitation. We couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience—highly recommend

My wife and I came here for a date night. What a great choice! We enjoyed the Thai style Brussels to start. WOW. They were incredible. The drinks were to die for!!!! My wife’s steak was cooked to perfection. It was the best fish I have ever had. THE SAUCE. The portions also were so generous. To top it all off we had incredible service from Wendy. This is going to be our new spot.

Went out for my birthday dinner and had an amazing experience. The service and food were both top tier and i love the calm, comfortable atmosphere. Every staff member I encountered wished me a happy birthday and were so kind and they even gave me free dessert at the end. All around amazing experience.

Having been a patron several times at The Vault, I was so looking forward to hosting a work presentation at the restaurant for approximately 20 guests. Everything surpassed my expectations. From the ease of working with the staff, to selecting our menu choices for the families making their way to downtown Wyandotte, and ending with the service and food, I was more than happy. Thanks to everyone who welcomed us warmly, served us with great care and made for an experience that was perfect. We WILL be back!

I just had my first experience at The Vault tonight and it was absolutely amazing. The food was phenomenal, the wait staff was so friendly and kind, and the experience was just overall well worth the money spent. I went with a friend for a bestie dinner for Christmas, and it was both of our first time going. We saw that it had good reviews, and we were both so glad we listened! Yes, it's pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth of food and experience!!! I would 100% go back and I will be recommending The Vault to other people!

I would suggest the best restaurant downriver. Service is great. Food is always top-notch. Great wine selection great liquor selection. Our go to.

This is a very solid restaurant. I celebrated my 3 years with my fiance. This is a very upstanding restaurant that checks and makes sure you are enjoying your food. I recommend the wagyu steak and the surf and turf. Even the non alcoholic cocktail "The God Mother" was sublime. The food is phenomenal. Juicy. Fresh. But expensive. This is a place you come to every few years. They don't label the menu prices. But it ultimately didn't stop me and my partner from enjoying our experience. Sadly I was only able to get a picture of the shrimp and what my partner ordered. It was so good we were too busy eating. Come ready to spend. But come ready to enjoy a true high dining experience.

I know this place is regularly booked to capacity on weekends and holidays, but my fiancee made a reservation here on a Wednesday night (my birthday!) and we enjoyed a quiet, intimate dinner. The steaks were cooked perfectly (his med rare, mine med) to our liking, and the sides were very flavorful. He got the surf and turf and I told the server and the owner both that it was some of the sweetest lobster I'd ever had. I appreciate that the owner floats around to check on guests and chat. Very personable guy. Our server was kind, funny, and attentive. We look forward to our next meal here, and would certainly be back just to sit at the bar and grab a drink. Great interior, great people, great food.

Service and food was excellent. We don't know anywhere you can get 2 8oz lobster tails with sides. These were quite large and delicious. Our entire meal was excellent. Not inexpensive but was a great meal.

What a charming find while visiting Wyandotte! This was an old bank turned restaurant hence the name. Attentive staff, great hospitality. The food was delish: we had the mushroom bolognese and the wagyu steak. Their drinks were the main show however with great recommendation by our waitress.

Service was good. Food was okay - my dish was under-seasoned whole my spouse's was over-seasoned. Nice for a special occasion if you don't mind spending $40 for an entree.

Went here for lunch and it took forever. Service was attentive and good, but for an empty restaurant, the kitchen must have been overwhelmed. It happens. Overall, the food was good and the ambiance was nice. I'd probably go somewhere else next time I'm in town.

I met a friend for a late lunch and at 2:45 there were a few tables still lingering. I started with oysters, as did my friend. The mignonette is the perfect accompaniment. I had waited to order a cocktail, and went with Pear and the Bull. So refreshing and light. Loved it! For our main courses we decided to get two handheld and two kinds of fries/sides. I got the sliced beef sandwich with sidewinder fries. My friend got the $10 waygu burger and polenta fries with garlic aeoli. All were delicious. The burger melted in your mouth. The steak on the sandwich was tender. Polenta fries were the best! Our server suggested creme Brule, but we had no room for dessert.

ALMOST a 4 STAR. The following is a review as a single party that wanted a lunch doing normal week hours: The establishment is upscale. Clean floors and well dressed staff, Available seating and medium staffed and mild lunch time rush. I got a glass of wine during lunch happy hour. Fair priced and large selection, although having to navigate an iPad for menu was mundane and tacky. For upscale authenticity I personally believe a physical menu is classier. For appetizer: Calamari broth was rich and flavorful, a little too much capers and the portion size was too small for sharing more than 2 people, no children. However, you can tell the calamari is frozen and pre cut vs the raw squid poached and naturally chopped. Frozen calamari has a more rubbery texture and if boiled too fast it isn't cooperative. The bell peppers and calamari were similar in length so it made selecting a bite a silverware challenge. 3/5. The salad was good, slightly smaller in portion, thinly sliced cucumbers and a good vinaigrette. Rich in flavor and not oil heavy. Not complex however. Lacked depth and only 5 ingredients. No cheeses or outside crunch included. Entree: The broccolini was extremely fresh, perfectly blanched and not too long and not salty. Perfect. The steak was great in portion, 10 oz, juicy, and a nice slight crisp to the edges, perfectly medium rare. Very great. Presentation. Fair at best. Lacked creativity or a variety of platter-ware . Overall, for upscale dining and pricing, 3/5. I think the appetizer wasn't on par, the steak carried the experience very well. Be prepared to listen to other conversations, noise resonates far with front entrance parties. Carried a lot of disturbance if you looking to experience a more private lunch or dinner. This is just a lunch experience. Hope this helps.

Nice laid back atmosphere; waitstaff down to earth...very inviting! Clean restaurant; bathroom beautiful and clean. Food: pricey but satisfactory portions; the flavors of each dish were just as described. There is nothing i can complain about. I will visit again soon!

Excellent steak and seafood! This place is very cool! We were very impressed with the craft cocktails as well! Service was top notch! We will return very soon!

Fabulous food, ambiance, and even better service. Went with a party of 4 total and the staff was friendly, accommodating, and reservations were easy to make. Had an appetizer of the Castlevetranno olives which was incredible and plenty for 4. I had the meal of the waygu burger, side of fries, and a caeser salad. All fabulous and would highly recommend. Others in the party had the NY strip dinner and a baked potato, steak frites, and wild mushroom bolognese with steak and everyone raved about their meals. Pistachio cheesecake for dessert to top it off and it was a 12/10 meal. Awesome modern atmosphere. Must check out if you're in the area.

Amazing dinner!! The filet my husband had was the best he's ever had ( and he's had a lot). Our server Kyle was outstanding. We will request him every time we return!! Drinks were so fun to try! Lots of craft cocktails to choose from.

This is the best downriver (down riviera!) restaurant... great foot that is very different and delicious really fine dining. Service is great! And it's a wonderful place for having that romantic dinner with someone you love OR a group of friends you want to have drinks conversation and catch up with. It's not cheap but a great value, it is high quality food at a fair price point! Owner is always there making sure you have a wonderful experience. I love it and will be back often!

Shared a few cocktails and a nice brussels sprout appetizer, in the bar area, at this former bank building turned restaurant. Nice upscale atmosphere, with an intimate bar area. For Wyandotte, I'd say it is a gem. Was introduced to the owners, Chris and Carole, and they seemed delightful.

Food was fair to middlin'. My cocktail was fine, quite good though slightly overpriced; but the mushroom bolognese tasted nothing of mushrooms and less of meat---but strangely of sundries tomatoes. And the pasta was an odd flat and thin variety, nondescript. My companion had a simple salad of greens and cucumbers with balsamic, plus a dude of asparagus,,2)7,) was all of 3-4 wee stalks. We split a key like dessert. Total? 75+ bucks. No thanks ‍

The food was outstanding, the drinks are good, the bartender Joshua is an absolute douche canoe. If he's working, just go somewhere else. 100% flaming asshole vibe. Everything else about this place is great.

We visited The Vault on a Tuesday night, celebrating my birthday. We made reservations and we're seated right as we got there. They have a great menu, and we decided to have the arancini as an appetizer. It was delicious. The fry on it was great and it was very flavorful. For dinner we chose to do the tenderloin Tuesday special for dinner. It came with soup and salad for each of us, and 4 sides. I chose the poached pear salad and my boyfriend chose the soup. My boyfriend enjoyed his soup, and my salad was excellent; the toppings on the salad were really well balanced and the dressing was delicious. We chose the broccolini, asparagus, garlic & cheese polenta fries, and potato Jennie for our sides. We both ordered the steak medium rare. The steaks were excellent. They were cooked perfectly and expertly seasoned, which most places can't seem to do. The veggies were good, and so was the potato Jenni. The polenta fries were awesome - defiantly the winner out of all the sides. For dessert I got the creme brûlée and my boyfriend got the turtle brownie cheesecake. Bother if them were outstanding. The service was stellar. Our waiter made sure our glasses were full, that we were happy with our orders and explained anything we asked. The manager also stopped by and we chatted with him for about 10 minutes. We will absolutely be back.

I have been to this restaurant twice and both times I had amazing service and food. The first time I had the burger and it was cooked to perfection. The meat had an excellent flavor. The second time I had a special which was scallops and polenta. Also amazing. They have fun craft and seasonal cocktails as well. The staff has been friendly and attentive both times. Nice to have a fun fine dining restaurant downriver. I love the bar on the side as well.

My BFF and I had dinner here around Christmas time and it was a fantastic experience. I made a reservation on their website and we were seated promptly in a nice booth. We both ordered a drink and the saganaki as an appetizer. For our entrees, I ordered the walleye Denny with sidewinder fries, polenta fries and the poached pear salad. My BFF ordered the chicken risotto with mashed potatoes and a side salad. We both loved our meals and look forward to our next visit.

Fabulous food and attentive service in a cool atmosphere. East street parking surrounds the location.

It was mine and my wife's first time here. We wanted something different and not a chain franchise to dine at. Well, we found it here. It has a very romantic Ambiance to the place. Show up well dressed and feel good! It's an old bank converted over it a well ran establishment. Top notch service. High quality eats and drinks. And the prices verify the quality. We sat at the bar and enjoyed good conversations with other patrons as well as the bar staff. Both Kaley and Carley were excellent bar Maids. Their experience puts them in a Mixology class. We'll be back!

I've tried to like this place. I live here in Wyandotte and just can't get past the exorbitant pricing (for what you get), and the service in the restaurant has been below average. The bar service is extraordinary, and sometimes we grab something at the bar. They have a bar burger that is great either these amazing potato crisps, and there is a mid-week special for it. The drinks are great and the bartenders are super educated with their offerings and have recommended some great ones to try. Especially love the Brown Butter Old Fashioned. Crazy good!!! So, dining room....no, bar, yes, especially in the summer when they open the doors up to the front sidewalk.

Fiancée and I stopped in for a late dinner this evening. We we greeted by the sweetest hostess who helped us to a booth. The digital menus we were provided are exceptionally useful- as it was our first time dining in, the ability to select a plate and be able it see its presentation was much appreciated. He had a wagyu burger topped with cheddar cheese and mushrooms with the twisted fries- cooked perfectly. I would have been jealous except I I had ordered the Walleye Denny preceded with a poached pear salad with bleu cheese crumbles, candied walnuts and a vinaigrette. The walleye so lightly panfried and topped with a lemon butter caper sauce and served atop whipped mashed potatoes and haricots verts. There is absolutely a reason this dish is a best-seller. If you haven't tried it, please do. You will not be disappointed. Finally, the service. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, there was nothing but warm greetings and too-notch service. Chris was our server and anticipated everything we needed. In fact, the staff at this establishment works seamlessly as a team. Any time a drink was to be refilled, a plate was finished and set to be cleared, another server or member of the waitstaff was right on queue. Our experience was impeccable and we will absolutely return.

Such a letdown from beginning to end. Super expensive, our bill was $300 for two people. It took almost 2 hours for our food to be brought out. My husband and I both ordered our steak medium. His turned out medium well and mine was rare. The lobster tail was very fishy, and the asparagus side dish was only 3 spears of asparagus. The only good part of the meal was the truffle fries. There's so many better options in the area that are not a rip off.

When we showed up this place was very elegant, you really feel the fine dining experience. We had reservations at 6 pm and we were seated right away when we showed up. Within 5 minutes we had our drinks, appetizers, food and sides all ordered. I'm ordered a drink called the "Gold Medal" which is their version of the Old Fashioned and it is amazing. It has great flavors of cinnamon, raspberries, oranges and you can definitely taste the bourbon, they use an aged Makers Mark, it is PHENOMENAL. Soon after came out the Thai Brussels Sprouts. They are also amazing, it has flavors of honey, sea salt, maybe a hint of maple syrup it was VERY delicious. It is a definite must try if you love Brussel Sprouts Shortly after they brought out a bread basket & a Caesar Salad. The bread basket was very good but was not going to fill up on bread while I'm here and the Caesar is very crisp and the dressing tasted very fresh. Then came our main courses, I had the Tomahawk Pork Chop and I have to say it amazing!!!! The pork chop had so much flavor and it was able to be cut in one slice with the knife, it was very juicy and just the taste was fulfilling and the mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables paired well with the Pork Chop. All in all, this dining experience was Exquisite and our waiter, Kyle, was the most amazing person, he was fast, courteous, knowledgeable and just an overall great person. This place is an amazing place and it is definitely a must try for some really good food. It is expensive just to let you know now but the food is worth every dollar.

We decided to spend the evening in Wayndotte. We just love this little downtown area! The Vault was on our list of places to check out because they have fabulous happy hour specials. It was a Weds evening and not super busy so we were able to come in and get seats at the bar. We looked over the menus a bit and he started with some bourbon and then went with scotch for his second drink. I got a couple of pretty cocktails. I love a pretty cocktail and they have a variety! We split the burger. We were sure at first as it didn't look like anything special, but was cooked perfectly and was juicy and delicious. Definitely recommend you try it. We had a fantastic time. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere is exactly what we love in an area like downtown Wayndotte. We absolutely will be back!!

The food, the service, the ambiance, and the staff all are what keeps The Vault my go-to fav!

Was with a large party of about 26. No food runner. No one to check on drink refills. Ask for a second glass of wine that never came. Most of the party has finished their meal and 6 of us are still waiting on a medium rare filet. Really need a bus boy to clear dishes. For a supposedly high end restaurant they really dropped the ball! Dishes never cleared. My daughter never received any silverware so we shared. The manager never helped and the owners never showed their face. The waiter did the best he could with no help. Very disappointed.

Great food, had the Tomahawk Ribeye with Mushrooms and Asparagus! Fantastic! Great server and the atmosphere was really nice and clean. Will be back next time I'm in Wyandotte! Thanks!

Food was good atmosphere was great. The waitress was great shout out to the chef Daniel for making my birthday memorable.

Last night we ordered a Surf and Turf; 6 oz filet and lobster tail. When the bill came, we were shocked to see the price was $120 for one surf and turf... Having been to Ocean Prime, Chop Houses, and Duo at the 4 seasons in Maui... with filets being wagyu beef, this quality of food clearly did not compare. The filet was cooked "ok" no flavor.... My lobster tail was black on the edges and had a burnt taste to it. I didn't say anything because I just figured oh well, I won't order this here again. Not imagining how much it was going to be. So as you can guess, I was shocked to see the price when the bill came. If you do try this place, make sure to ask what the market price is. Also, look how they charged us for a dirty martini. $9 for vodka, $5 to add the dirty, & $2 dollars for blue cheese olives. I'm giving it 2 stars because our waitress was very personable.

Went for Mother's Day lunch. The food and service were both excellent. The converted bank made for a different design and ambiance. I would definitely recommend.

I was very impressed with both of my visits to The Vault. The filet mignon and crab cakes were incredible--and friends who ordered the salmon raved about how good it was.

Drinks, polenta fries, pear salad and creme brûlée absolutely delicious. Service was also amazing. But I've had a better filet. Not sure where they get their meat but they should get a new vendor. It wasn't awful but I've had much better. My dad got the bone in and it was also just meh. Would come back but just for drinks and dessert! Lovely people as well!

The staff were very good. The bar was excellent in how they really take the time to make craft cocktails. The food was good but a little on the pricey side for what you get. Overall, a good experience.

Everything at the Vault is impeccable! Being a connoisseur of fine food they hit the mark all the way around!

Food was excellent as was the service, management was very clear that everybody working in the restaurant was expected to give excellent service I noticed several large signs in the hallway that employees used to go the kitchen that stressed these values of customer service which has sadly been lost in many places. Well done, Vault!!!

Outstanding restaurant - THANK U FELLOW YELPERS! Started off with the fried brussel sprouts in a thai sauce with pistachios! Sure they gave me two generous sample glasses of two of the beers I had a question about ended up with the bells oberon - very good. Pear salad was great. Lamb chops were delicious w asparagus fried polenta sticks! All reasonably priced

My husband and I went for dinner at The Vault last night. I had made reservations for 5:30. We were celebrating our anniversary. When we arrived, we were seated right away in a booth. They had put a cute sign on the table saying happy anniversary. Small gesture, but made us smile. Some came and brought us water and said our waitress would be over soon. It did seem to take a bit for her to come over as we had already decided on what we were ordering. I ordered the the vault 75 which had vodka, raspberry and rose. It was good. Not really sweet though. Hubby just had a diet. We started with the saganaki. That came out pretty fast and was a good size except for the bread they give you for Dipping. There were 4 pieces. It really could use about 4 more pieces. Later on before our dinners arrived they brought a bread basket, that would of been super helpful for dipping if it had arrived earlier, though it was a yummy. The waitress came back and we ordered dinner. I ordered the 14oz Tomahawk porkchop with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Hubby ordered the chicken and risotto. We also ordered sidewinder fries and the garlic polenta fries. I had Ceasar salad and Hubby had house salad. The salads came our pretty fast and were good. Then there was a pretty long wait for the main dishes. Our waitress said it was because they had a big party in the back. The food did finally come put and was hot.and tasty. I give the porkchop a 9 out of 10. It was cooked to the perfect temp, the sauce they had on it was delicious. The mashed potatoes were ok, not the best I've ever had and the asparagus could of cooked a bit more but overall good. Hubby lived his dish too. Gave it a 9 out of 10 too. Same thing with his asparagus. Needed cooked a bit more. The sidewinder fries were amazing and a 10 out of 10. The garlic polenta frie were ok. I wanted to love them more then I did. 7 out of 10. We skipped dessert. Our bill was around $115. We had a gift card and it was pretty easy to use. Overall it was a great meal, just keep in mind wait time might be long if they have a party going on.

Had a lovely mid-week dinner here. I like dining out to be a treat when possible, not just a convenience or excuse not to cook. I can definitely say The Vault was a treat! I got the total package: food, ambiance and service-a perfect balance. The restaurant is housed in an old bank building on a downtown corner. Vintage is my jam, so I loved the exposed brick and oversize Edison-type lighting. I started with a glass of Moscato (delicious) and studied the menu as I took in views of historical buildings and the foot traffic outside the row of big windows all along the side street. As an appetizer we ordered grilled olives, something we've never had before. But, following the advice of PBS food critic, Daniel Tiger, "Try a new food, it might taste good," we did and he was right! Gotta say, they were tasty! Next up was a yummy sounding cocktail that would have been forbidden for young Daniel Tiger: Tony's Pesos. It was a blend of pineapple juice, mango syrup, tequila and grapefruit soda and was as good as imagined-slightly sweet with that tequila bite. And, although the menu offered a lot of sophisticated dishes, including lamb chops, steaks and seafood, any of which I wouldn't hesitate to order on a future visit, it was a burgers for both of us on this night. But, keep in mind the Vault's burgers are made of Wagyu beef (Japanese beef known for taste and tenderness) so they are pretty sophisticated too! And pretty darned good! Ordered one with fries and one with grilled asparagus as a side. The servers wore black and white and were very attentive and managed their tables well. We never went without full glasses of water or had empty plates languish on the table. Tables and booths were comfy and although we didn't visit the bar area, we could see it and it looked like it would be a fun place to hang out (and eat more olives!)

I enjoyed my meal at this location. A solid 4. The menu is pretty decent and the prices aren't bad given the quality of the product. I had the tomahawk pork chop with whipped mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. Would recommend for sure. The bruschetta was very good as well as an appetizer o highly recommend it!

The halibut Sitka was delicious. The service from Megan was excellent, and non-rushed. Our $36 bottle of wine was the "house red" and was delicious, so we didn't have to spend a fortune on drinks. The salmon corn chowder was amazing. Polenta fries are interesting. Risotto balls (Arancini) were just ok, not a ton of flavor and the balsamic with tomatoes didn't seem to do it for me in accompaniment. The saganaki was served with standard slices of loaf bread and was as expected. Five stars for the service, ambiance, and halibut. Four stars for the rest. Next time we will order accordingly.

5 Star restaurant with outstanding service. Decor was with elements of a former bank, classy industrial lighting, elegant cocktail bar with extensive wine list. Signature appetizers are to die for and food is wonderful. Very cool tablet menu.

I love this place. Great staff. Great food. Classy atmosphere. Menu pricing is a little wonky, for example it's cheaper to just order soup and salad a la carte than to get the happy hour special. The new shrimp pesto dish is a winner!
