"The Westgate vegan trailer cares a lot about ingredients, which translates into its hearty vegan food. Among the comfort food menu are dishes like freeto (not Frito) pie, a burrito with Buffalo tempeh, and chili mac and cheeze. Takeout and delivery orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
Very nice vegan spot. Absolutely love their Frito Burrito and Mac & Cheese. Frito Burrito is surely the best burrito I’ve had in Austin. Mike and family are very sweet and amazing people. They always greet you with smile. Love going here every weekend.

Google
Best vegan burrito in town and a freeto burrito boy? Yummy and a little vegan grocery inside. Come support these guys! Love them.

Lisa K

Google
Lovely vegan spot with a ton of gluten free choices! Recommend the Buffalo bowl and frito pie.

Vanessa Schuster

Google
Lively spot in Austin, one of the best vegan burritos I have had, the portions are good, the ambiance is very peaceful, a lot of gf options and they even sell vegan goodies. This place is a must go! Much love🤍🪷

Google
Funky little place serving up enormous burritos with a side of Hare Krishna music. Delicious Comida Burrito.

Google
Super bummed. Got their comida burrito.( soy curls) There was like four pieces of it on there, if I wanted a bland rice and bean burrito with no cheese I’d just go to Taco Bell. Also kept noticing some of a strange texture which I just thought was a little bit of over cooked rice. It was shreds of plastic. Maybe more plastic than soy curls? So thanks for expediting micro plastics into my balls. Ate the entire burrito before realizing the shreds of plastic. Thanks vegans Fück this place.

Google
One of (if not) THE BEST vegan food in all of Austin! Hands down, their food not only tastes amazing but is great in terms of macros. Fresh ingredients, balanced, and ethically sourced. It’s a hidden gem in Austin and so far I love this spot!

Google
The recent situation found us in South Austin with limited food options. This place hit the market 100%recommend. It was fast, close, and delicious. We will drive from Georgetown again just to eat here. The burritos were big enough for 2 or 2 meals for one. Great find.

Yelp
My sister and I came here for lunch last weekend, and found it to be a cute hole-in-the-wall kind of place for simple, vegan meals and snacks in a market-like set-up. I got a comida bowl sans rice and with soy curls added in. It was super flavorful, filling, and topped full with onion! They also had Zucchini Kill baked goods for sale, so I helped myself to their Waffle Cream Pie. I wasn't a huge fan (I found the cake part was more like sweet cornbread), but it was nice to have some vegan dessert options to accompany the meal! Pricing was decent based on comparable places in Austin. It can be a bit of a drive to get to, especially coming from North Austin, but if you are already in the South Congress area, it's a nice place to make a pit stop at foe your vegan fix!!

Yelp
Service was friendly and quick. Imagine holding a football between your hands. Now split that football in half, holding one side in each hand. That's what the mock chicken salad wrap feels like. "Look at this!" I shouted to C. as I held up half a wrap like Simba. Lots of crispy shredded carrots, fresh sprouts, and mock chicken salad. Also, wonderful grill marks on both sides of the wrap. The mock chicken salad smelled and tasted like a cigarette, one with a good chicken texture. I never forgot that the chicken salad was the mock version, like I do when eating the one from Whole Foods. I grew up as a member of the Clean-your-Plate Club and would normally take on the massive wrap as a challenge. However, my stretchy jeans are becoming less stretchy so I saved the other half for lunch the next day. The cigarette smell was still there.

Yelp
Super yummy vegan food, kind and quick service. I would recommend anything with Fritos included - it gives the food that extra crunch!
google avatar

Holly O.

Yelp
Yummy! I love this little spot tucked nicely in our neighborhood. They have a wonderful selection of vegetarian snacks and some pretty unique jerky options. We like coming here for lunch and splitting the buffalo burrito as well as some samosas. They have vegetarian Indian food and lots of fresh food options.I definitely definitely recommend recommend!

Elyse M.

Yelp
The food is generally good here. I did order a hotdog once that came without cheese. Everything else I've ordered has been correct. I like the freeto burrito. They have a lot of chips with the queso. The menu is pretty limited and the food is good for the most part but doesn't "wow" me, except the freeto burrito. They made that really well. The beans, grilling, chips, perfection. The staff is friendly an helpful. The location is hard to turn into or out of depending on where you're coming from because of all the cars driving by. Ed though there's not much parking, I've always found a spot. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Get the buffalo bowl!! This place is not cheap, but it's delicious and you will feel great afterwards. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Zach S.

Yelp
Superb quality food from high quality ingredients. One of my favorites stops for lunch and vegan groceries. The one piece of advice I could give you is try all the burritos.
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
Freeto burrito and smokehouse burrito- my husband loved both! Awesome little vegan market inside as well with lots of vegan chocolates and snacks. We were sad to hear they got rid of the soft serve machine. We'll be back to try the bowls!
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
It's always smooth sailing aboard The Vegan Yacht! I can't stay away, especially when visitors come to town and want a taste of the best burrito here. The Freeto Burrito is award winning for a reason! It's just hard to beat the one-two punch of spicy tempeh chili and crunchy corn chips, all wrapped up in a grilled tortilla. Oh right, and don't forget the luscious slab of avocado packed in there, too. I must admit though, I'm personally hooked on the Smokehouse Burrito turned into a bowl. It's not listed on the menu as such but they'll happily oblige. The deep, woodsy smoke on that tender tempeh is just unparalleled. Set it atop a bed of creamy slaw plus mac and cheese... Well, I think that explains my eagerness to return right there.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
So delicious and such generous portions! I have been wanting to check out the vegan yacht for so long and glad I finally did. I got the smokehouse burrito as a bowl and it was awesome! Can't wait to come try another bowl or burrito soon!

Marc G.

Yelp
I didn't get to eat my food. The gentleman handled my money and never washed his hands and made my food. Cute and smells great. Was looking forward to eating my food Maybe some other time. Just not today
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Ate there years ago. Tried to make small talk with the owner, but he wasn't having it. I paid with my Amex card, then a few days later I got an email saying, "Your card was declined because we don't accept american express....we voided it so it was never taken out. it was $37. can we get that at your earliest convenience? thanks, mike" I noted the distinct lack of "I'm sorry" or "Please", or even a proper thank you. Whatever, I called and paid again. Then I got my Amex credit card statement, and I see that they *did* charge my Amex, as well as the second card I used. So I paid twice. I emailed them and asked politely for a refund (using the words "please" and "thank you"). No reply. So I wrote again. Again, no reply. I haven't been back since.

Yelp
Darn good vegan burrito! Size, flavor, ingredients, and kick. Well done. Had the frito pie burrito.
google avatar

Erik r.

Yelp
They have delicious, well sized burritos! Friendly family owned and operated business.
google avatar

Ivy E.

Yelp
Tried the freeto pie (mini), comida bowl, and the smokehouse burrito. It was all good, but the smokehouse burrito was really outstanding. Basically imagine you filled up a plate at the family bbq, then wrapped it all up in a tortilla. Such a delicious idea. Will be eating here every time we're in town from now on.
google avatar

Annette A.

Yelp
I drove from San Antonio to get one of the best vegetarian burritos I have ever had! Definitely worth the drive
google avatar

Garden O.

Yelp
Amazing quality! The place is super clean and the people have great energy- very important when someone is making your food. Love that some of the ingredients are organic.
google avatar

Erica K.

Yelp
My wrap was kinda just okay. I thought it was a little dry and the flavors were strange. Maybe tempeh, pickles, and raw veggies in a tortilla is just not my thing. I didn't finish and took it home. Ate it later after taking it apart, cooking the contents and putting them back in with some sauce. I saw images of outdoor seating online before I went, but wasn't sure where it was when I was there. In general I found the seating to be a little bare boned and not too comfortable.
google avatar

Chandly L.

Yelp
Check this place out if you ever find yourself in south Austin TX, yummy food and a cute little market attached with a smoothie and coffee bar. Super friendly staff, such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Also I was very impressed with the eco conscious details, like the little hot sauce container that looked like a regular plastic cup was compostable. Super cool, I hope more places do likewise.
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
My favorite is the comida bowl w/bbq tempeh!! Staff is always friendly and turnaround time is quick!

Renee H.

Yelp
So good - great service !!! One of the best Vegan joints I've been to ! Get yourself over there !

Yelp
We had their freeto burrito for lunch today, and boy it was good. It contains all the requisite food groups including crunchy, so you don't even need to order chips and queso on the side. But we did have their chips and vegan queso with black beans and jalapeno added, and it was quite a treat. They have small vegan cupcakes and other treats to top off the meal; we tried one with lavender and enjoyed it. The Vegan Yacht is definitely an asset to the neighborhood and the Austin food scene, and I recommend it even for non-vegans.

Allison R.

Yelp
These burritos are bomb! And the freeto pie is soo good! Definitely recommend for anyone! I'm on a dairy free diet and thought vegan food would be the easiest way to ensure no dairy. I've never had vegan food before and this was a great start.

Yelp
Arrived at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Not a long line, and the place was empty. I ordered a frito pie and was told all orders were to go only. Since it was over 100° outside I asked if if it would be possible to eat inside if I finished before the 5pm closing time and was given a very hard NO. Ok, I'll eat in the car. May I have an extra napkin? The dude at the counter gave me such a skowl!!! Sadly the "chili" was just tastless beans, almost nothing else except for the avocado and cheese on top. I did find a few crumbles of tempeh, one piece of tomato, three or four grains of corn at the bottom. The worst part, there was absolutely no taste whatsoever. Not a hint of cumin or any other seasoning. They provided a single packet of Cholula hot sauce. Added one star because the ingredients were fresh. I'll not return. The grocery next door was cool.

John C.

Yelp
I got the buffalo bowl and wanted to like it but I honestly couldn't even eat it. It kinda just felt like I was eating carrot shreds and cabbage in a bunch sauce, and wasn't too fond of the flavor either.
google avatar

Ivy S.

Yelp
Frito Burrito Supremo for the win! Tons of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Cool location. Will be back!

Yelp
Vegan Yacht never disappoints. I live in NW ATX so it's a bit of a drive away from me, but definitely worth it, especially when I'm near that side of town. Vegans paradise. I have been visiting them even before they got their brick and mortar store, and when they were doing business out of a food truck. I've had quite a few things off their menu (some which aren't even on their menu any longer), but my favorite (I think everyone's favorite) is the Freeto burrito. A big old burrito packed with veggie goodness and some salty corn chips, coupled along with some buffalo sauce for dipping - simply divine. Even my husband, who is not vegan, loves the vegan yacht. I also had the chance to try their soft serve vegan ice cream once - sooo good! I'm so happy to see that one of my favorite Austin vegan restaurants has grown and gotten their own brick and mortar space. The space itself has a cool funky vibe to it, and the owners/employees are always so friendly!

Denisha P.

Yelp
Limited options but they prepare the feww they have extremely well. Great food. Unique customer service experience.

Suhani D.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service, and super trusting employees! I went here for the first time with my bro for my birthday, since I heard about The Vegan Yacht's famous, award-winning Freeto Burrito! (Amazing btw, and super filling!) After leaving the place and over an hour passed by, I left a valuable backpack behind. I called and Mike, told me they had it safe! Despite the long drive back, it was still there safe. I want to thank him, his wife and anyone else that was a part of this amazing service! It seriously made my day! I highly recommend this place, not just for the food, but for the trustworthy environment and people there! And to top it off, we left with a free birthday dessert (even though I felt like I wanted to tip them for this brilliant service!) Thank you! -Suhani

Yelp
I've been back twice and gotten both the famous freeto burrito and Buffalo wrap! I preferred the Buffalo because it was not as salty and more refreshing. Super eco-conscious, they even directed you carefully how to throw away every part of your meal. Combined with a vegan shop that we explored. Very eye-opening! Didn't know there were so many niche market items. Definitely give it a try.

Anne M.

Yelp
I looove this restaurant!!! One of the chef's look like Frank Zappa!!!!! The food is amazing!!! You must come here!! The vegan cheese was so delicious. I brought the left overs home and my meat loving husband loved the cheese! Absolute bravo to the chefs!!! I will be back. Thank you!
google avatar

Mandi T.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place!. I have to say the Buffalo burrito Maybe the best vegan dish I have ever eaten. It was so fresh, flavorful, And piled high with veggies and marinated tempeh. there's a little organic store tied to it with really great selection of plant-based foods. As amazing as the food was the people working there were even better, if that's even possible. If you like nice people and good food stop by here! I do have to confess that I'm from central Arkansas and I don't have a lot of experience with vegan restaurants. But I'll still be willing to put it against any other vegan joint in the nation!
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
My non-vegan Filipina mama joined me on her first ever Vegan restaurant experience. I live in LA & have a pretty good variety of Vegan options so wasn't sure what to expect while visiting Texas. Was pleasantly surprised how AWESOME our burrito bowls were. My mom was being complicated and wanted tofu, which is not on their menu. She tried the Buffalo tempeh bowl and loveddd it, liked it more than tofu. I really enjoyed my comida bowl & it reminded me of chipotle. Vibes were great, friendly service & right next door to a market.
google avatar

elise h.

Yelp
Such a unique and comfortable energy in here. We got the freeto burrito and the comida burrito and both were delicious but quite different. The food is so filling! The little market was also so cute to walk around in while we waited. Very friendly staff as well!
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
My friend suggested this place to try and man was this a good choice. We ordered the freeto burrito and the buffalo burrito and damn were they big. Like big as as your face big. The freeto burrito was outstanding, filled with beans and corn chips, great texture and flavor. The buffalo burrito was also amazing, great taste and really good paired with their homemade hot sauce. Do yourself and favor and add onions and jalapenos. My wife tried their desserts as well and said they were great, we will definitely be back.

Margaret B.

Yelp
Really lovely spot in South Central Austin. I got the Comida Bowl and it was so delicious! Also, it was nice to check out the little market shop next door while I waited for my order, and everyone was super friendly.

T. D.

Yelp
I love the concept of vegan chili and hearty vegan burritos, but the food fell flat. You have to pass through the side door or enter through Maha Market (another vegan shop with Indian vibes). There is both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice. I got the Freeto Burrito Supremo, which was huge, dense, and very hearty. It was all a little dry and one-note, and I wish there was something exciting in there, like pico. It didn't really scream "chili" to me. That being said, the wrap was good and left me full, and the interior was clean. Maybe I'd give it another try.

Kiran D.

Yelp
Best vegan food ever! The Freeto bowl was my favorite - tangy, spicy, crunchy and perfectly seasoned! The management was super friendly and eager to help, prompt and friendly service were just icing on our experience. We will surely visit every time we are in Austin. Thank you Mike for an incredible experience.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
GF and vegan review : really yummy food here and friendly service. There were a few gluten free options for me to choose from, which I appreciated, and they have gf cupcakes for dessert as well! I also love that there is the little vegan grocery connected to it so you can buy other delicious vegan products while you're there.
google avatar

Miyen S.

Yelp
Great quality food. Always reliable. The Freeto burrito is always my go to. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Candice M.

Yelp
I can't tell you how much I love the Comida Bowl. It tastes so amazing! The rice, avocado, corn, lettuce, beans, this amazing tangy dressing!

Maeve D.

Yelp
Great gluten free and vegan options! The atmosphere is so cute and it is connected to a vegan grocery shop which is amazing!
google avatar

John E.

Yelp
Delicious, not much more I need to say! We had two different burritos and shared, both were amazing! The atmosphere is cute and the store attached had a great vegan/whole food selection.
google avatar

Priya S.

Yelp
We've been passing by this place a few times and it was finally time to give it a try! They didn't have the full menu up because the power had just gone out the night before, but still plenty on the menu. We ordered the frito burrito supreemo which was so yummy! And the Buffalo burrito which was pretty good and full of veggies. They use tempeh which I loved because sometimes the texture of vegan meats freaks me out. The burritos are pretty big and filling. They also have a store connected to the restaurant that has all things vegan. I ended up buying one of their house made "twinkies" so damn good. Definitely recommend. Friendly staff and good food.
google avatar

Christina O.

Yelp
Are you ready for a burrito to knock your socks off?! Look no further my friends - the Freeto Burrito Supremo is the one! Perfectly combined ingredients make every bite an explosion of yumminess. Be sure to check out the Maha Market right next store - they have wonderful beverage options and a ton of other great vegan dry goods and snacks. A fun visit all around. So fun we were back 2 days later! Enjoy

Melissa P.

Yelp
Went there as a first time customer yesterday. I had the buffalo burrito, chips and queso. It was the only thing I ate yesterday. Came down with food poisoning!! I had to call off work today. lost a whole day's worth of pay!!

Kim P.

Yelp
A hole in the wall with a great vibe that serves excellent vegan fare! Really large burrito ls made with a nice chewy tempeh. We really enjoyed this place. Will definitely return.

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Referred to affectionally as "The Yacht" I love this place. Every time I go I'm greeted as if I go there every week (and maybe I do go every week).
google avatar

Hira S.

Yelp
DELICIOUS vegan food. And the serving size... HUGE! Great price for the amount of food. Very unique flavors. I'm not the biggest fan of tempeh but they made it taste really good. They also had baked goods at the counter that were amazing. Joined to a vegan grocery place so I'm super happy with the overall experience.
google avatar

Sam W.

Yelp
The smokehouse burrito is so good! You have to try it. I am always looking for a new place when I am out and about around town. I'm so happy that I have the Vegan Yacht a try today. Such a delicious burrito. Will stop here again for sure.
