A MUST visit when you come to San Fran! My wife introduced me and I was blown away by the panoramic view of the city. The atmosphere is high quality and elegant. Open yet still private. The drinks are top tier and I’m so grateful for Giulianna V. This is sincerely one of the best mangers I’ve ever encountered. She UNDERSTANDS HOSPITALITY and actually cares about the patrons. Giulianna introduced me to the vegan options and went above and beyond to make sure I was aware of all dietary restrictions. Thank you to Francia as well who was one of the operating chefs on duty. Very knowledgeable and very caring! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING EddyOneTake Approved!!

Came here to grab a drink and some apps before going out, the view is nice. Beautiful windows. We sat and waited for a few minutes before our server approached us.. she took our drink order (never told us her name) and disappeared. I was watching the bartender from our seat and about 20 minutes later when he was making our drinks I saw him not use the correct tequila. Finally the server dropped off our drinks and ran.. didn’t hear me when I asked her about the drinks I guess because she took off. Which was also extremely annoying seeing as how we had been waiting for over 20 minutes now not only for our drinks but to place our order for food. I ended up bringing the cocktails to the bar and the bartender was extremely nice and admitted that was his mistake and he remade the drinks. Which I also had to go get from the bar myself. The server eventually came by to take our food order and left- she made it very known that she was too busy. Once the apps arrived she never touched the table to make sure our food came out correctly. Overall, the food was okay but the service was terrible. The view was nice but not worth the experience or the price.

What a view! There not much I can say about it except come early because the good tables by the window get taken quickly. We got there 18 min after they opened and we got the last table next to the window. We just had drinks and no food, just enjoyed the sunset over the concrete jungle. The pictures and videos don’t do it justice, especially on the clear San Francisco day we had. First time we came here the service was okay but the most recent time, it was top tier. I will always make it a point to come here whenever I’m on the area.

Atmosphere is so private and intimate there are limited seating for the window view but it's so worth it I highly recommend for sunset to go early and just advise to go from the elevator and sit on the left. It is so beautiful

If you're in the mood for a center-city view from a great vantage point and great cocktails, The View is the perfect lounge to go to. The bar, while not the biggest, has a great selection of spirits and the bartenders are quite talented. The drinks here are a but pricey, but you're paying for the view. They do have food that is great, but I personally wouldn't come here for dinner, but instead to relax and hang out with friends for a couple drinks and overlook the city. The atmosphere is upbeat and the service was pretty good for how busy it can get.

Definitely a great spot! It’s certainly not guaranteed that you’ll have a spot, but our group of 4 managed to get seats. Our server, Don was a great host and made us feel comfortable and not rushed at all. You’re much more likely to find seats as a smaller group, but it’s worth checking it out.

There was a private party that blocked public access until 8pm, despite Google saying they opened at 4. Then when we did get access, they said they did not open the kitchen (despite going to be open until midnight). It was so weird. So, we had a quick drink, enjoyed the spectacular view, and went elsewhere to spend our dinner $.

The food was really tasty — truly excellent in terms of flavor. However, we found it quite pricey for the portion sizes, which were very small despite being delicious. Service was good. The view is beautiful. We went around sunset and sat on the side with a view toward the bay — it was lovely, but for sunset, we’d recommend the opposite side of the building, where you can actually watch the sun go down. That view is even more special. To eat, we ordered the chips, which came out hot, crispy, and not greasy at all. They were served with hummus, which was light and fresh. We also had two mini burger pairs — absolutely delicious! The doneness of the meat, the goat cheese, and the sauce made for a perfect combination. Lastly, we ordered the scallops (you get two), which were outstanding, with a sauce that really complemented the dish. Highly recommend those! To drink, we had just a glass of wine and tap water.

Gagged by how gorgeous the view is. If I wasn't with my friends, I can guarantee you I'd be ugly crying by the windows. The floor to ceiling City views are grander than any view I've ever experienced living in SF my whole life. The View Lounge, located on the top floor of Marriott Marquis on Mission St is a spot I never heard about until my friend who used to work at the building recommended it for drinks after a visit to SFMoMa last weekend. We arrived around 4pm and it was ready starting to fill in - all of the window seats were taken. You seat yourself and menus are on stands at each table. Staff will approach you and we were able to order relatively quickly once we settled in our high boy table and seats. We all got a few rounds of gin and tonic, and an order of their potato chips and dip. Solid drinks, $22/ truly for the vibes. Chips were a nice snack, dip was creamy. We didn't feel rushed and enjoyed watching the sun set. Staff was attentive and friendly. Would love to go back!!!

SF staple & must visit for those who have never been, BC as per the name, THE VIEW is def. well worth it...esp. during sunsets and or late nights. The mood and whole vibe of this place is beautiful...it is casual yet still a bit upscale, lively without being too loud, & romantic but still perf. for girl catchups and or singles grabbing a quick drink. Most times I visited was in the evening and only for cocktails, on these occasions - it is mainly self serve where you order at the bar then find a seat. Recently though, I came here for HH with a friend and was seated on one of the main room tables near the window. We received table service - our waitress kindly took our order and brought out our food/drinks. In the end, as beautiful as the view was - unfortunately, my mouth and tummy was still left unsatisfied. By all means, nothing was particularly bad, but for the price - I just can't say anything was amazing or well worth it either. Let's Dig In: (1) Tuna Tartare - Just realized I have this slight addiction of getting tuna tartare every time I see a unique chip base, which is what happened here (LOL). The unique tapioca chips were SO GOOODD and had a great crunchy texture. The tuna itself was fair, lightly seasoned and flavored overall. (2) Octopus - this was OK, I prefer octopus to come out in its full leg form (at which point I can see if it has the charr that I like) & then cut into it myself. Though, I totally understand for sharing, this was prob. better - but with everything else on the plate, the octopus was lost in both flavor/texture. (3) Scallops - this was my least fave, the scallops were cooked OK, but there was just way too much sauce which completely overwhelmed the scallop. (4) Cocktails - the Lycheetini is my go to here, boozy and perf. lightly sweet everytime I have it. I did get a different drink the 2nd time which was OK, it was a pretty blue color but a little too tart and simple in taste. Overall - Drinks are def a bit pricey here - but that's given just per the location and view.

I am appalled by the disgraceful and downright fraudulent behavior at The View Lounge. This establishment intentionally did not provide a receipt for my bill and then had the audacity to charge an arbitrary tip to my credit card without my authorization. This is not just unprofessional--it is blatant theft and a scam. Marriott is supposed to be a trusted name in hospitality, but this bar's actions reflect a complete lack of integrity and accountability. Failing to provide a receipt and secretly adding charges is not only unacceptable but likely illegal. Such deceptive practices erode trust and tarnish the reputation of the entire Marriott brand. I urge everyone considering a visit here to demand a receipt before paying, carefully review their charges, and be on high alert for this underhanded tactic. Marriott must investigate and take immediate corrective action against this fraudulent behavior. This is shameful conduct for any business, let alone a bar representing an international hotel chain. I will not return, and I will make sure others are warned about this disgraceful scam. Avoid The View Lounge at all costs unless you want to risk being overcharged.

A friend was vocalizing how bad he wanted to visit this spot. What better day than on NYE? Beautiful views of the city that reminded me of how lucky I am to be living in SF. I ordered their Manhattan and it did not disappoint. Seating at the window is hard especially because it's first come first serve seating. If you can't find a seat at the window, just keep your eyes peeled for when someone gets up and leaves and swoop in. Our waiter was also the sweetest. Didn't get her name but she was amazing!

Very overpriced (drinks start at $25) Had the lychee martini and they ran out of puree but used the juice and it was good Probably not worth $25 but it's for the view It's a shame the bar faces away from the windows Love the window, reminds me a bit of musée d'Orsay in France (the bar in the giant clock)

Come for: the name says it all - The View!, cocktails, and creme brulee Know that: open seating, and it gets packed at night. Expensive. I love this spot for afternoon/HH drinks. The San Francisco skyline is majestic and few places in the city let you enjoy it like this place. Try to go early to grab a seat by the window if you can - this is easier in the afternoon than at night. It is a hotel bar after all so expect $$$ pricing for food and drink. That being said, the creme brulee I had here was one of the best I've had in the city. And the old fashioned - was probably 3 drinks worth of strength. I'd strongly recommend each of these. The service is great especially if you can go before it gets too busy. Overall, it's a classic SF spot for a reason. Go and try it out if you haven't yet.

My first time visiting this san francisco staple. beautiful night time view, and i'm sure the sunset view is spectacular. drinks are pricey which is expected. i'm disappointed because there also was no table service, which definitely led to us purchasing less. there are many rooms, but when exploring the area, staff did not make us feel welcome to peep through the windows of the rooms aside from the main one. not busy on a weeknight.

Not much to say. Grab a drink. Get the crème brûlée. If you need something savory, go with the sliders. The View is a must. Service is A1.

Incredible views, chill, upscale vibe, and the music is fantastic. I ordered a mojito and it was good, too much mint for me but still flavorful. Everyone I was with enjoyed their drinks as well. Good service and lovely atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

A great view of the city but the drinks are super pricey ($20-$30 per drink). Came here on a Monday evening, and we could find a table for 3 decently easily. The service here was awesome! Didn't have to go up to the bar to order a drink, waitstaff came to our table to take our orders. I got the Mission Paloma, which I think was decently sized and beautifully presented with the orchid. Good grapefruit flavor! I was really impressed by the presentation of the drinks -- the ice cube in my friend's Old Fashioned had the bar's name in it, which I thought was very impressive. Worth the $27 that the drink cost? Less sure about that. It's quite loud in here so be prepared to need to talk a little louder to have a conversation. The waitstaff are very attentive, and the interior decor is quite nice as well, especially with the couch seating areas by the window and the bar alcohol setup. I could see myself coming here again on a very special occasion, but the price range is high.

Fell in love with this bar the moment we walked off the elevator. Not a place if you are scared of heights though. The view from here at night is phenomenal of the city in the huge windows surrounding the bar. Drinks were craft made cocktails and even though the kitchen had closed the waiter brought me cookies to snack on. The staff were wonderful, the atmosphere classic upscale beauty, and the views some of the best in the city.

Excellent rooftop restaurant/bar with great view of the city. Staff is nice and helpful. Highly recommend visiting! You seat yourself so get there early to try to get the window seating.

It's the ambiance fa me! Drink was okay. Tacos were not worth it. The crème brûlée was good. Literally just go there for the view! Eat somewhere else.

Hence the name, the view is amazing, lots of seating and you can see out a window from pretty much any table - some of the booth backs are a little high and obstructed the view - probably should have gone with a lower chair back. The view is on top of the Marriott and I will say it does to some extent feel like a hotel bar. The drinks are not super over priced - I think all the cocktails were sub 28. The cocktails are all San Francisco themed which was cute. Everyone in my party liked the drink they got-the drinks are well balanced with fun ingredients (the Yerba buena has edible glitter). Our waitress was polite - she made the appropriate amounts of visits to the table. Overall one of the best views of the city I've seen and I got to sip a nice cocktail while I looked.

I think I've visited all the rooftop bars/sky bars in SF except for maybe 1-2 places? In my opinion this place isn't just worth it. The interior is nice, view is nice, service is good but not great, drinks are good but nothing special. Food and drinks are ridiculously expensive. I know that drinks can be expensive, especially drinks at a rooftop since you're also paying for the view.. but $26 bucks for a cocktail and a service charge on top of that? Have to give it 2.5 stars given the overall value. Don't know if I'd come back.

You have to enter through the main lobby and go up the elevator. It's clearly marked in the lobby. My group tried getting in with the directions on Yelp but you can't get through the back door unless you have a hotel room key. Once you're out of the escalator, they do an ID check. They have a lot of seating around the bar, walk around the car and there's a whole entire section I really enjoyed all the desserts. The fruit had a sweet syrup and the cake and crème brûlée was yummy

It was a beautiful evening to sit and overlook the city. Our server was very kind and drinks were served rapidly. This venue is not for the money conscious. Drinks are pricey, but well worth the ambience.

Amazing views! Located on the 39th floor of the Marriott Marquis hotel, The View lounge provides a beautiful cityscape with 360 views of downtown. The cocktails were quite good however not worth the above average price in my opinion - hence the 4 stars. Prices aside this is a great option to meet friends for drinks and light bite. I was lucky enough to patch sunset from my table and was not disappointed. The food was also tasty but this lounge is definitely more of a happy hour/appetizer spot rather than a full meal option. Overall, will definitely be back for the views!

Great views and service. Martinis are amazing! We got to see a red tail, hawk family that lives in the building also.

I mean, the view was spectacular! No doubting that. Stop by for a gorgeous view of the city. Pros: The view is absolutely amazing. They do offer quite a bit of seating and tables. The staff were kind. I loved their house made chips and dill-y dip. We managed to find a two person seat way in the back that was super private and had the most beautiful view of the city. Cons: They don't take reservations, it's just first come first serve. Which I understand for a lounge type of setting, but it would be nice to make a reservation for that amazing view if you're visiting from out of town! We Ubered there and almost had to sit in a room with no view. They were so overly busy, it was packed. Our waitress took quite a while to bring us a soda water and a drink. Also, I wanted to go and enjoy the view but I don't drink alcohol. The only mocktails they offered was a ginger one and a tequila sunrise with no tequila. I think they should add some more non alcoholic options for people that just want to enjoy the view!

The View Lounge is a one-of-a-kind cocktail bar with massive arched windows. There is no reservations needed, but if you could get a table by the arched windows, it's the best seats there. However, those tables are first come, first serve. The pineapple cocktail was so delicious and my favorite that I tasted at any rooftop bar, ever! The tacos were shockingly delicious and server was attentive and nice. The interior design and decor is so stunning and original, and the skyline view of the city is an extra bonus! This place is worth the try.

My teammates and I visited the view for drinks after work. It was a decent walk from our office: they were no window seats available for our party of 6 so we got seated in one of the middle seats. I had the Lychitinni which is a lychee infused vodka drink. It was yummy refreshing and tasty. Had a kick to it as well. My teammates had wines and other drinks and they seem to enjoy as well. For apps we got the potato chips, typical chips with ranch dip. Charcuterie board: well this was a joke. There was no cheese, no crackers, no fruit or anything they would normally serve on such dishes. It's just few pieces of multi grain cracker, cured meats, few pickled veggies and too bitter mustard. Not with it. Service was quick. The ambiance is amazing. Great date place!

Good drinks- even better view! Service was great- they were very flexible when we snatched up better seats after starting our order in a different spot. They even noticed when I dropped my fork and brought me a new one without me even asking. Very attentive and Instagram-worthy!

The food is remarkable, but the best part of our experience here was Ajit who went into beast mode to make sure we always had good, plates cleared, extra utensils, and anything else we need. The boba bus isn't there, but I'll somehow persevere. Ask for Ajit for top notch service and a hilarious personality.

If you come on clear day you can watch the sunset. We came on a weekday which was very quiet and it was also quite cloudy so we couldn't see anything unfortunately. However, we still had a great time I ordered an old fashioned and the trio starter for the table. The chips in the starter were nice with the dip. The waitress was very nice and friendly. I love coming here.

Love visiting the View and always have such an amazing experience! Got here at 4 just as they opened and managed to get a table right in front of the window in time for sunset! Had an absolutely amazing server - she made the evening and when realizing when we were celebrating a birthday, brought a dessert on the house but more importantly was so attentive and lovely throughout the evening. We started with cocktails and Mocktails for the kids and then a local IPA and sone bubbles! Enjoyed their cheese plate - the smoked Burrata is amazing! Also had their chips and dip which is always a. Just have and their tuna which was delicious and super fresh! Enjoyed stunning views of the sunset! Had a great night and fantastic way to end our trip! Will be back again soon!

A nice rooftop bar on top of the Marriott. Drinks are more pricey but you're paying for the view. This spot is super spacious with comfy couches. Would def recommend if you like rooftop bars!

Signature Cocktail Martini Ten/89- 6.78/10- made w/ Hangar One Smoke Point (vodka), Grand Mariner (cognac), and lemon juice. I could have literally sworn this was gin but I guess not. It honestly just tasted like gin with no lemon juice or tonic. Very strong, to a point where it's a little too hard to drink as a cocktail. However if you drink it through the mint leaf it's pretty good and bearable. If you're looking for a strong cocktail though, this is great. Sutro Splash 6.74/10- made w/ Haku Vodka, ginger beer, fresh lemon juice, and cranberry. This was also a very strong cocktail but not as strong as the martini. Way more refreshing and light. The ginger beer tasted great in it. Candied nuts 8.86/10- this was delicious. They told us their kitchen closed but they had this. Variety of different nuts (cashews, walnuts, almonds). The candied pecan flavoring was really good, and this snack was great as a pairing with the cocktails This rooftop was super cute. Cocktails and food are definitely on the pricier side compared to other bars, however the view is fantastic. There are several different seatings areas but you may want to get there a bit early to snag a table right next to the windows to see the view. You also can't predict @karlthefog . Everyone's view apparently became obstructed by the fog and we managed to get a small table in the very corner which we didn't think would be ideal as the servers wouldn't be able to see us as prominently as other tables, but our view remained great the entire night and a bunch of people kept coming up to our window to look out at the city. Lucky to be staying at the Marriott Marquis with this place at the top. Fantastic view and great service from everyone, especially Mac and Darcie, and the support staff. Espresso martini was my favorite nightly drink when we stopped in, during our stay. Not pictured, the brûlée cheese was a hit for us.

Online it says it's open but I just went there today and they said it's closed until further notice. I've been trying to go here a couple times now and this time hotel confirmed it's closed.

A great place to catch a view of the city. Drinks are crazy expensive. It's worth the trip up the elevators for the view alone.

I mean, it's ok. It's definitely overpriced and underwhelming to me. When I got up there it reminded me of an 80s office building, at least the big room with the octagon-esque window. I expected more especially for the money paid for a drink ($25ish for a mezcal-based cocktail). The service was meh, it took awhile for anyone to come service us. No point in me coming back, this place is made for hotel guests for sure. There's far better establishments out in SF for cheaper. Let me add a least a positive: the drink was good, so props to the bartender.

Whew it's a $23 margarita, but damn does it get you where you wanna get to! Each sip of that was delicious to the point where I wanna buy my own cocktail set and mix one myself. We also really liked their trio of snacks - homemade large fluffy potato chips, roasted nuts and fresh olives. We'd love to come back again and snag one of those cushioned seats right next to the nice views. I have to point out though, at $15 for a cider, you expect more than a can of local cider being brought out and poured into a glass, it's fancy cider but the markup is jarring.

Met a couple of friends here and the name is really all it entails- THE VIEW. That's really all it's worth, since the bar bites and drinks were meh. Service was meh, but the prices were as sky high as the 39th floor this place is on. Not really much else to say. But the view- go to the 39th floor and snap pics and head nearby to any number of bars or restaurants for an enjoyable meal.

Parking is in the garage across from the Metreon, or valet, or Uber/lyft. Beautiful views. Expensive bites, but tasty nonetheless. Wonderful drinks. Great service. Thank you!

The views and aesthetics of this bar are astonishingly beautiful, featuring a full skyline view set behind extremely dramatic arched windows that rise dozens of feet high. The bar is situated in the middle, with a small sitting lounge off to the side. It can get packed, so I'd recommend going earlier for the view so you can get the best spot. I didn't try their food; however, I did try their drinks. My friend and I each got one and tasted each other's, but they lacked any real potency from the alcohol, having only a hint of it. I had asked if they could put more in my next one, but I didn't really notice much difference. You're definitely coming here for the views rather than strong drinks, but the drinks did taste good and were also aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. I'll definitely come back and just try their food and enjoy the view.

The view is a beautiful lounge with views of the entire city of sf. It's gorgeous with large windows and cozy pockets for you to sit in. That being said the cocktails start around $23/ drink. The drinks are aggressively mediocre. They're certainly beautiful and aesthetic but not worth the price. You're paying a large premium for the view which could be worth on a date.

Love it every time we're here. Gottta be a bit earlier next time to have a better view. The drinks are good but a bit on the pricey side, even though I think it's worth the view. Service was a bit slow for us in the second time.

Beautiful view on the 37th floor. Although, the windows could have been cleaner and clearer to look through. Perfect for drinks after work if you're near the Moscone Center, and need to unwind. Drinks are on the pricey side, about $20 for a cocktail fyi. Service was good though. Server and bartenders were very attentive.

Love this lounge. The view sits on the 37th floor of marriott marquis at SF. Perfect place for date nights and hanging out with friend. The food is mostly small and shareable plates, they have varieties of signature cocktails, we tried smiling punch, express yourself and margarita, which weren't bad at all. The service is good but the highlight of this place is the beautiful view. Try to get here before the sunset's and get a seat by the window! A must have experience for the tourists!

The view is amazing and the drinks are great. The atmosphere is so relaxing and perfect for unwinding after a long day. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need. I could sit here for hours just enjoying the scenery and sipping on my cocktail. It's definitely a hidden gem worth visiting.

Great view, very tiny bar. It's split between opposite sides of the floor. If you get a seat with a good view, it's worth staying. We happened to drop in on a busy night, there was a conference at the hotel. I would love to stop in during the sunset, it was highly recommended!

Mehh. Kinda a one time experience for me. I saw on Instagram and was excited to check it out. The windows could be a tad bit cleaner. Gotta go early to get first picks on seats by the window. The food and drinks are overpriced. Sadly, not even much food options. Getting to The View was a bit confusing since you would have to get off the hotel elevator to hop in a different elevator to get to the 35th floor. You can't come too early because it won't let you go to the 35th floor. We ended up waiting on the 34th floor to queue and it seems liked others had the same idea. I tried Sutro Splash $25 and Skyline Punch $25. The latter was def my FAVE drink here! Sweet and addicting!! Omg the food is so expensive for the portions. We got the ahi tuna $27 and seared scallops $24. Tuna was a tad bit salty. They were both good but not worth it. I really liked the scallop! Good nicely. Idk if I would come back tho.

BEWARE: If you must try this place, pay with CASH. My credit card charge ended up being about 15% more than what I paid at "checkout", which would be standard for tip but I didn't remember there being an option to choose my tip at any point in the pay with card process. And the total I was charged and agreed to pay was a different number that posted on my transactions later. So that left an unpleasant taste. Wasn't sure if I should post this because though I'm very certain with my memory, maybe I was mistaken here. However after searching the reviews, I saw quite a few other reviews mentioned that the same thing happened to them, so beware. If you're dying to try this place, probably best to pay with cash. Gorgeous fantastic view but drinks were not worth the price. My friends and I came up to check out the view and decided to sit for a drink, but we would have been fine just taking a look around. I got one of the Paloma type drinks and my friend got a mojito. My drink was hard to finish. It was kind of spicy in like a red hot candy type of way, which wasn't what I was looking for in a grapefruit drink. Would have given it two stars because the view saves this place a little bit from the bad, overpriced drinks, but repeatedly overcharging customers is unacceptable. Don't know how many other people they've gotten away with this over that didn't realize because they weren't sober enough to notice/remember.

Great views of the city! Went on a busty night so service was sllllloooowwwwww, drinks were good and atmosphere was sexy.

Disappointed. The views are spectacular, the server was very friendly but I had searched Yelp for late dining and this popped up. The hours stated they're open until midnight. We arrived at 10:15 only to be told they'd just had "last call" but could get us a drink and the kitchen had closed around 9. The venue was still full of guests so there really shouldn't have been a need for early hours. Probably won't be back.

Stayed at the Marriott for a conference. Came by second to last night in SF. Bar hop stop 1. This is your typical rooftop bar- nice place with little seating, but great view of downtown. Very. Expensive. But we liked the vibe. Decent food menu but only came for drinks. I enjoyed my tequila sunrise! We got lucky with a seat at the bar. The bartender and staff takes good care of everyone! Somewhat loud but still a good place to hang out.
