The Old and New Restaurants Dallas Chefs, Food Writers, and Influencers Loved in 2022 - Eater Dallas

"Like everyone, I was excited about Meridian this year. I live at The Village at The Drey so it was easy for me to go there and observe as a chef. I found it interesting and a very adventurous project, and I think. Junior put together a great kitchen crew over there. There’s a lot of energy around it and I always have a great experience." - Courtney E. Smith

I reported a broken glass bottle in a walk way 5 days ago. They told me they would get it cleaned up. 4 days in a row I emailed pictures and called about it without it getting picked up, all the while telling me they sent someone to do it. I finally picked up it and sent them an email saying I was disappointed in their lack of care or effort; the manager replied to my email thread about this saying it’s the FIRST SHE HAD HEARD OF IT. In a thread where we had been discussing it WITH HER. This is the level of gaslighting and incompetence you should expect at The Village. Don’t even get me started on the pool noise. If you care about your dog’s paws, working hot water, or peace and quiet — this isn’t the place for you. Please spare me the canned response of how you’re trying, etc, etc. If you want to talk about this, you can start by apologizing for lying to me in our email thread; I know you know where to find it. Edit: It has been 16 days since I first reported the glass and they STILL have not picked up the remaining pieces in the flowerbed. There’s one that’s at least 3 inches long there still I refuse to pick up on principle. If for some insane reason you’re still considering living at The Village, on your tour, swing by the park area between buildings 4 and 5; I’m sure the glass will still be there. Edit 2: even after the corporate response on Google, it has now been more than a month and the glass is still there.

Amazing place. I love everything about this place. The community areas are so nice and comforting. You feel apart of a community when you're there because everyone is so lovely and friendly. The units themselves are very nice and new. I had no issues with my unit while I lived there for two years. I wish I could stay there forever as the gym, the sports bar, and all the other amazing amenities are very nice. The lakes and dog park walking areas are very cool. Great landscaping as well. Overall amazing place to live.

Update: great property but way too overpriced and service is getting worse during the past 2 yrs. Cannot believe after I kindly declined to renew the next lease which dramatically increased my rent (like all my neighbors), the management listed my unit with $500+ cheaper MONTHLY rent to new renters. Ridiculous. Original: Just moved in two weeks ago, so far the experience far exceeded my expectations! Professional & friendly management, great amenities, and so many free perks. So glad I’m here 😄

I absolutely loved my time at The Drey. The peace, the ambiance, beautiful scenes and apartments is sublime. They always have events or classes planned for villagers and I love the sense of community. The restaurants had great food and staff was always friendly and wonderful. The leasing office was always helpful, prompt and tried their best to accommodate all of our resident needs in timely. I loved being able to rent one of the lobby spaces and hold small gatherings/dinners. The new pool/beach club is something you must enjoy at least once!

The people who work at the DREY are terrific. Every time there is an issue or question that may arise, they respond quickly and take care of business. Plus, they are always pleasant and engaging. The apartments are nice and it is great having places like Over Under and the Sandy Pickle. The pool is busy with lots of music in the summer, so keep that in mind when you pick your apartment. It's a good time and great location - made better by the people who work in the DREY office and at the restaurants.

Not enough stars to rate this place properly, wish I could put 6 out of 5 stars. The Village at the Drey personnel care about their residents and their well-being. Maintenance is incredibly professional and friendly. The leasing office agents are super nice and professional and easy to talk to about anything (good or bad). No matter the issue we have at the apartment (if any), they are always willing to listen and resolve the issue as best as possible. Only ever had 2 major issues in 20 months at my place. The office responded very quickly and was able to resolve my issues perfectly. If I ever move out, I am going to miss the leasing office agents the most. The only thing I regret is not moving here sooner. This place is great and the leasing office makes it that much better.

The Village Apartments truly stand out when it comes to providing an exceptional leasing and move-in experience. They have a reputation for both professionalism and also adding that extra personal touch, and it's no surprise that their newest development, The Drey, is a fantastic place to live. The units are beautifully designed, and ours overlooks a charming courtyard featuring a European-style spa. Our spacious balcony with clear glass railings offers stunning views, while the 9-foot windows flood our living and bedroom with natural light. Chantalle and Victoria, our leasing reps, went above and beyond to ensure our entire experience was of the highest quality. From the thoughtful gesture of leaving a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge when we moved in, to the welcoming gift box upon our arrival, their attention to detail truly made us feel welcomed. After moving in, Jesus, one of their maintenance personel, was very timely and professional when he helped us find studs for hanging some art and other items. In all aspects, The Village Drey earns a solid five-star rating from us. It's a testament to their commitment to providing an exceptional living experience, and we couldn't be happier with our decision to call the Drey our home...

DO NOT LIVE HERE! First off, the 5-star reviews are all from people who work here or work with the Village (contractors). Management has gotten so bad, they've taken to making fake reviews to hide the real ones. The noise in the summer is unbearable. They literally play extremely loud and vulgar music from 12 pm-11pm everyday during the summer at the pool. EVERY DAY! They hired party promoters to run this complex, and it shows. The primary focus of this place is to hold parties for non-residents. The residents come secondary. You will not be able to take a nap, have any family over (loud curse words blaring into your apartment all day), or even watch television comfortably. What's extremely insulting is how they have cut back on services. Trash is not picked up properly, hallways are always dirty, air is never on in the hallways, alarms in the buildings are broken, garage gate is broken more than it is fixed, the restaurants are shells of themselves. The sports bar has a menu of 10 items, and the pool that used to be exclusive to residents is now closed during the winter and as trashy as it gets during the summer. Management actually sent out an email last summer suggesting we use a different pool at a different complex, when residents complained about the noise and access to the pool. Most of the food options are gone, and the restaurants surrounding the pool have suffered due to the trashy atmosphere of the pool. You can't have Anise & Meridian prices and vulgar music with thongs and fake hair all around. Something will have to change, because residents don't renew their lease once they see how it operates.
