"This is one of those essential no-fuss neighborhood bars with nightly entertainment (comedy nights, whiskey Wednesdays, underground DJs) that keeps you coming back for more. The crowd is mainly Eastsiders out looking for a good time, whether that means tucking into a booth for a cocktail and some gossip or cutting loose on the dance floor, without having to worry about a dress code. "You have drunks on one side, then you have drunks telling jokes on the other. The Virgil hosts comedy nights, DJ's, and random events on the "A" side of the bar (Kristen Schaal, Demetri Martin, and Aziz Ansari to name a few) which are usually worth checking out. "B" side serves well crafted drinks in a very relaxed environment. It never get's insanely packed, being one of the reasons I love it.
