A Wine Novice’s Weekend Guide to the Walla Walla Valley | Eater Seattle

"Tucked into a residential neighborhood, the local tasting room offers pours of both traditional and eclectic vintages in an expansive outdoor setting with a laid-back Mediterranean feel; visitors may even catch a glimpse of grapes being processed on-site (the vineyard itself is in Milton-Freewater’s Rocks District). The food leans tapas-like with oven-fired sourdough pizza, and wine tastings come in various sizes and permutations. Known for innovation and variety, curious guests are encouraged to try the sustainable pášx̣a (“sunflower” in Sahaptin) line or their tempranillo bottled as Wonderful Nightmare." - Meg van Huygen

Such a beautiful tasting room. Highly recommend making reservations as this place does get busy. Taylor was taking care of us and she was amazing and SO friendly. We were greeted with their Rośe which they are sold out of but you can purchase them in plastic versions vs bottles, which I referred to as adult Caprisun. They have a great food menu and pizza is made freshly on the spot. They do a great job in catering for allergies. We had 6 tastings ranging from Chardonnay to Grenache to cabs. I'm not a Chardonnay person but theirs wasn't as bad. Their Grenache and rośe was my favorite. Tasting is waived after purchasing bottles. Everyone here was super friendly. Very nice decor, clean and ample parking spots.

Top notch! I’ve referred several guests here, and every single one has given it five stars—and after visiting myself, I can see why. Every detail is thoughtfully done. The staff is awesome—attentive, kind, and they make the tasting experience both enjoyable and memorable. Their outdoor patio is the perfect place to relax, while the indoor space feels fun and intimate, whether you’re with friends or family. My personal favorite is the Ramparts, a beautiful Rhône blend that pairs perfectly with their food offerings. If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy great wines, welcoming hospitality, and a genuinely fun visit, don’t skip The Walls. It’s a must-stop in Walla Walla!

Delicious wines and food. We did the tasting flight with spicy pep pizza and potato mushroom pizza (I’ll be dreaming of this for a while!) and the grains and greens. The patio was beautiful, and they brought plenty of water and pats for our pup. All incredible, service was fantastic from the details around every wine to the chef checking in on our meal. 10/10 recommend!

We sat outside in the beautiful side yard and it felt like we were in our friend's backyard. Taylor helped us and she is super friendly and very knowledgeable. The wines are delicious and we will come back again!

I love The Walls! Their Tempranillo is one of the best in town - smooth, balanced, and always a favorite to share with friends. The food is just as incredible, and the vibe makes it one of my go-to recommendations when I have visitors in town. Andrea always makes the experience feel extra special. If you’re looking for a place with great wine, great food, and great people - this is it!

What a wonderful tasting room! Paloma helped us for the duration of our visit. She sat us quickly and brought out the flight, including a bonus pour of the Lipstinger which was one of our favorites. Her service was excellent — she was knowledgeable and unpretentious, explaining everything thoroughly. She also anticipated our needs and provided food and water throughout our experience. The wines were an excellent variety of Walla Walla wines and we got a great sampling of what Walla Walla has to offer in the wine world. I particularly enjoyed the prominence of the Rocks District wines as they have a distinct savory flavor that the Walls has perfected! I absolutely recommend for anyone interested in wine, great ambiance and food, and excellent service.
