Where to Drink Cocktails in Chicago’s North and Western Suburbs | Eater Chicago

"The Walrus Room brings the traditions of a Wisconsin supper club to the Chicago area by serving up Great Lakes fish fries Friday, prime rib on Saturday, and slinging Wisconsin old fashioneds and fried cheese curds during happy hour. You’ll also find a menu of Alice in Wonderland-themed cocktails like the Golden Afternoon blended with brandy, sarsaparilla and cherry syrup and the Mock Turtle, a tequila-based drink topped with roasted poblano foam." - Sam Nelson

Went here for my anniversary with my husband and they gave us each a little glass of champagne to toast with. We started with the bone marrow that was incredible, the best that I have ever had and so much of it for the price. I had the steak frites that was correctly cooked and the fries were hot and tasty. My husband had the scallops which were also cooked perfectly. Our drinks were great and the chocolate cheesecake was also a good way to end our meal. I really enjoyed all of the Alice in Wonderland hidden paintings and things around the place too!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Walrus Room in Geneva, IL, is a gem! The upscale yet cozy supper club vibe is perfect for a date night or special occasion. The food is exceptional—fresh, locally sourced ingredients shine in dishes like the outstanding Friday fish fry (lake perch with a light, crispy batter) and the melt-in-your-mouth prime rib. The menu’s variety, from BBQ shrimp to lobster bucatini, keeps things exciting, and the truffle parmesan fries are a must. Cocktails are a highlight—try the Mock Turtle or their spot-on Old Fashioned. Service is warm, attentive, and accommodating, especially for gluten-free diners (loved the crème brûlée!). It’s on the pricier side, but worth every penny for the quality. Make a reservation—this intimate spot fills up fast!

We enjoyed a fantastic dinner here with friends. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate and the service is attentive and top notch. The cheese curds come with a black garlic dipping sauce that is unique and delicious, and the relish tray is served with bread that's freshly baked by the chef. For dinner I had the Saturday night prime rib supper club special. It came with a blueberry horseradish sauce that had just the right amount of sweetness and tang. It also came with a choice of salad (I had the Caesar and it was a most generous portion!) and a shareable portion of creamy mashed potatoes. For dessert I shared the ice cream sandwich with my husband and it came already sliced in two nicely shareable pieces with a side of homemade whipped cream and fresh berries. In addition to the amazing food they also have a fun menu of unique cocktails. One small thing to be aware of is that the parking lot is quite small so you may need to park on a side street if you come after the restaurant is busy. We will definitely be returning to sample more of the menu!

Google
The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings. As an Alice in wonderland fan, I am obsessed with this place! Nestled in a cute little corner of Geneva it's the perfect place for a nice dinner. The overall atmosphere is low key, cool vibes and awesome staff throughout the whole place. We celebrated our anniversary and they gave us complimentary wine, awesome. The drinks were so good, freshly made ingredients. Appetizers were amazing: shrimp de jonghe, shallot tarte tatin and New Orleans bbq shrimp. Our server, Tony, was amazing and made some great recommendations for first time visitors. Entrees: Wagyu sirloin and Friday fish fry with roasted vegetable and whipped potato sides. All delicious! Will definitely be back.

Service is amazing here. Everyone is super attentive and invested in the guest. I don't eat meat and when our server found out there was ham in my choice, she told the chef, and the chef improvised something while maintaining the integrity of the original dish. THEN the chef (a woman, which is refreshing to see!) herself came out to personally check on the flavor of the dish. You can't find service like that nowadays!! Our server told us it was her 3rd day but she was partnered w a more experienced server and instead of being clunky, our experience being waited on was flawless and seamless. Now, none of this does well unless you have the food to back it up. We started w the cheese curds which were *not* greasy nor heavy. The batter was light and they were as all fried cheese should be. Then we had the wedge and house salads; both were beautifully dressed. The wedge is absolutely decadent, you've been warned! Last we had the lobster spaghetti and the scallops. Divine. Finished off w the cheesecake which is baked and so good. Definitely a place w fresh, good food and top notch service. The decor is fun and classy at the same time.

We came here for a birthday dinner. It was a recommendation. The service was great, however the food was just okay. Some of the flavors weren’t good together. We didn’t care for the chorizo mussels and blueberry horseradish. The drinks weren’t good as well. It was small for the price you pay.

Great experience all around. I dined alone at about 7 on a Thursday. I was able to be seated right away. Thursday nights seem like the perfect time for a quiet and relaxing evening. The menu is great and my server was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and able to make excellent recommendations. I ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon and was impressed with the quality. Everything is expertly chosen and paired for a fine dining experience. The food presentation and flavor was amazing. Definitely a must go.

One of the best meal experiences I've had in awhile! My husband and I came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. You do need reservations so plan ahead for that. The drink I ordered was the dream child and it was a perfect refreshing cocktail to enjoy all night. My husband got the Old Fellow and loved it! It actually gave one of our favorite Old fashions we had in Minnesota (made by a very experienced Old fella at a Lowes Hotel Bar) a run for its money! For starters we did the shrimp dejouhn and one of their off menu specials of stuffed mushrooms and they were both OUT OF THIS WORLD! I mean, we took our first bite and just knew anything we ordered from here will be amazing. Every single dish is treated with such care, perfection and love, which I feel other restaurants tend to lose once they get super busy. We also split the steakhouse wedge salad and that was amazing, the blue cheese was from a local cheese guy who the restaurant gets all their cheese from and It's incredible. For the main course my husband kept it simple and did the TWR Burger with his fries upgraded to the truffle Parmesean fries. The burger patty was not thick but it didn't need to be to get the job done. It was a great burger and the fries were awesome. For my main course I got creative and ordered the fancy sounding duck special and it did not disappoint! The presentation alone was 5 stars and then the taste just sealed the deal and I don't even eat duck but I did last night! We split a side of the Mac n cheese and it's the first time in awhile I haven't been let down by Mac and cheese at a restaurant. I stopped ordering it as a side because it was always so bad. Well not at The Walrus Room! For our final celebration we split a chocolate Martin and the ice cream cookie. The cookie is thick so be prepared for that, but it's good! The drink was to die for and I just could not say more great things about this restaurant. Our server was amazing, she was very attentive and checked up on us at all the right times! She promoted the menu and specials well and gave us new plates and silverware after each course. Thank you for such a great experience! We will be back!

Yelp
As good a place as any for the area. Cool Alice in wonderland theme. Dark and chill vibes. Tried the arctic char and trout. Both very skillfully prepared. The arctic char had an excellent crust and was cooked perfectly. The trout was the standout for me. Great combination of crunch from the shaved almonds, acidity from the puree, garlic (well for garlic's sake). Drink was strong and well balanced. All around a solid no nonsense meal with zero pretense. Would definitely return. Service was good too. Not quite on par with the likes of the Mandrake but good.

Yelp
We hosted a dinner event for my wife's retirement. 22 people. The space was perfect for our group, the ambiance right on. Massive kudos to Restaurant Manager Laura for helping with all the details and making the evening perfect. The food was of course outstanding, and all in my group agreed that the staff and service were impeccable. Highly recommend the Walrus Room!

Yelp
Food is very good, staff are friendly and attentive; ambiance is cozy. Sit at the bar and you'll make new friends!

Yelp
Talk about a hidden gem. My husband and I drove past The Walrus Room, not once, not twice, but three times before we were finally successful on our fourth try. It is in a strip mall on State Street between 4th Street and 5th Street. There is no signage that is visible from the street. Going through the stress of getting to the The Walrus Room is well worth it. This is a fabulous restaurant. Beware, the portions of all items are HUGE! I was surprised at the amount of food that we were given. We started with some appetizers for the table to share. We had the Chorizo Mussels (P.E.I mussels, white wine, garlic, shallots, French fries) and the steakhouse wedge salad (Iceberg, Danish blue cheese, Nueske's bacon). The mussels were perfectly cooked. The shells came apart easily and the chorizo sauce added some flavor to the dish without becoming too spicy. The wedge salad came with crispy iceberg lettuce and the bacon and blue cheese dressing added some great flavor. After the appetizers, I wasn't feeling super hungry. I ordered the Fried Perch Sandwich (lake perch, tempura batter, remoulade, kale slaw) because it looked like the smallest item on the menu. This also came with French fries. The flavor was really good. The perch was light and crispy and the toppings added a rich flavor to the sandwich. The fries were truffle parmesan flavored and did not need any sauce to add flavor. My husband had the half slab of baby back ribs off the supper club specials menu. This came with house salad, whipped potatoes & roasted vegetables. The ribs were overcooked and the barbecue sauce was not very flavorful. I don't know how he had room after the appetizers and entrees but our friend ordered a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Overall, The Walrus Room comes very highly recommended. The food is excellent and the ambiance is great.

Yelp
Went to the walrus room for dinner on Thursday, November 2nd with my future Son-in-Law. First a "big shout out to our server Melinda" all of her recommendations were spot-on! We started the evening with two Wisconsin Manhattans, would have had several more but we didn't have and designated drivers (yes, they were that good.) Melinda, then suggested and brought us Chorizo Mussels, that were literally finger licking good & two vegetable soups, that were thick and Harley. for our main Entree Melinda brought us the Thursday night Supper Club Dinner of Baby Back Ribs! "Hevan on Earth." We are coming back for the Friday Fish fry, and this time brining a DD!

Yelp
Food is consistently delicious even with a rotating menu. The service is amazing as the wait staff is very patient, generous and considerate with their recommendations and information about the menu. Very welcoming and beautiful environment. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Walrus Room is definitely my new favorite restaurant here in Geneva. The food is consistently delicious, the perch meal with choice of salad and accompanied by mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and broccolini was really just awesome. The whole menu is great and my server was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and able to make excellent recommendations. Their service is always good. Our server was amazing, she was very attentive and checked up on us at all the right times! She promoted the menu and specials well and gave us new plates and silverware after each course. Please keep this up! I love this place!

Yelp
Affordable fine dining in a casual setting with friendly service, I had a delightful visit here with my party and left very full! I love the wide variety of different options on their menus here which cover a wide variety of cuisines, ingredients, and different price points. It's not obvious from the way that the items are listed on the menu, but every appetizer, side, and entree was a very generous portion size. This is fortunately as everything I tried was delicious! In particular, a few items stood out from my visit here. The chorizo mussels were cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful from the chorizo with a good balance between salt, fat, and acid. The truffle parmesean fries were lightly crisp with a good burst of extra earthy flavor from the truffle oil. The wedge salad was a full meal in itself, presented nicely with cuts of cucumber and tomatoes, balanced with generous cuts of bacon, and tied together with an amazingly flavorful and creamy blue cheese dressing. The fried perch sandwich had a deliciously crispy and flavorful tempura batter which matched very well with the creamy remoulade and fluffy fun. I also enjoyed the flavor of the roasted vegetables which had a good umami to them, while not being overcooked. One of the biggest surprises of the evening was the roast amish chicken which retained an incredible amount of juiciness due to being cooked sous vide, while having a deliciously marinated skin that was intense but not overly salty. Overall, well executed food that is really elevated versions of familiar favorites and served in generous portions. I'm excited to visit here for another delicious meal soon.

Yelp
The service was really bad she doesn't even smile the whole time. The food not special and we ordered the BBQ shrimp for the appetizers but the shrimp not even fully cooked. I'm not going back anymore.

Yelp
Walrus Room is a solid five star restaurant. Table service is fantastic. Our server knew the menu inside and out, provided useful recommendations and was very attentive without being pesty. Starting with the appetizers four of us had Shrimp DeJohgne, the Burrata, Curds and Chorizo Mussels. All very very good. The ladies had wine and I had a bourbon from their extensive list. For dinner we ordered the walleye on rice, Amish roast chicken and the prime steak frites. All really good although maybe the entrees were a bit salty. We ordered too much food and drink so the nearly five hundred dollar bill was our fault. Great service, fantastic atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
We so wanted to love this restaurant. The decor was great and our server was very nice. Sadly our food wasn't the best - the salmon was raw and we reluctantly sent it back. We were disappointed that the staff didn't even give us an "I'm sorry for the undercooked fish - the owner just came over and dropped it on the table.

Yelp
I've never been to a supper club although I'd beg to argue this is actually an upscale speakeasy with fantastic food. Came here with a group of friends for a later reservation time and the place was packed - reservations highly recommended! Our waitress was attentive and helpful, she gave great recommendations and offered insight on items we were considering. We ordered a variety of cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and after dinner drinks. Just all around exceptional and very elevated supper club food. I also can't get over the atmosphere here... just feels like you're taking a break from the world. Love the vibe, drinks, food, and service!!

Yelp
Great cheese curds. Attentive service. Huge improvement on our last visit where the steak on Valentines Day was not great. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Quick service, delicious food, very good cocktails! Enjoyed the ambiance and decor of the Walrus room. Pricey but a fun place to visit for a drink and a bite! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wife and I stopped in here for our anniversary. To be entirely honest, it wasn't our first choice. The other places were loud and very busy, so we took a chance. This was absolutely fantastic. The service was excellent. Friendly without being overbearing. Timely about everything - never too slow and never too fast, and never in your face. The food was impeccable. I had steak frites and my wife had walleye. It was simply perfect. AND THE DRINKS! Oh my god these were fantastic cocktails. We are absolutely coming back. I only hope this place doesn't get too busy and become another overrun Geneva restaurant!
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
Good: Our server was very nice, helpful, and attentive. Bad: The food. What we ordered just wasn't good. The shrimp in the BBQ Shrimp appetizer was much too rare. Though the sauce had good flavor, the single small piece of toast accompaniment was chewy and overly saturated with butter. The prime rib was enormous but was 75% fat which made for a very unappetizing presentation. It was cooked accurately but just wasn't very good especially given the $59 cost. The roasted vegetables side was fine but nothing special, the mashed potatoes were good. Given the other available options in Geneva, we won't be returning.

Michael F.

Yelp
This is a first rate restaurant! Food is amazing. Service is great! Great location in the downtown Geneva area. Might be the best Geneva has to offer!!!
google avatar

Jeneen T.

Yelp
This is absolutely my favorite Geneva restaurant. The food is absolutely wonderful and the staff truly loves what they do and it shows! Try the Mock Turtle drink and any (or ALL) appetizer(s). They're all wonderful! Give it a try and you can thank me later!

Yelp
Just a really good local "Supper Club". We've been to Walrus Room on a number of occasions. Celebrated birthdays, milestone events and just for dinner. If you're looking for a nice dining experience I believe you will not be disappointed. The Old Fashioned has not disappointed. Steak frites with the truffle fries and the mussels (appetizer I sometimes get as my meal) are my personal favorites. 4.5 because no one is perfect!!!
google avatar

Ariel C.

Yelp
The absolute perfect date night! Great drinks, good beer selection, and the White Sangria was delicious. Food was outstanding, one of the best steak filets in the area. Service was wonderful, didn't catch our server's name but she had blonde hair and we were talking about her grandchildren. So personable! You could tell she really loved working there and stood by their food. She even brought a dipping sauce that she thought would pair well with the truffle fries we added. We'll be back soon!

Will L.

Yelp
Absolute amazing dining experience at The Walrus Room. The ambiance and aesthetic is very chic and the food was incredible. Chris was our server and so knowledgeable - he was able to suggest food and drinks that we might like and didn't rush us. He also fixed the bottom of the table when it was wobbly without us even asking. 10/10 recommend this place

Natalia B.

Yelp
This restaurant is truly incredible. CHRIS IS THE BEST! He made our experience so wonderful and provided great recommendations. Definitely give this place a shot!
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
First time dining here and it won't be the last! Delicious fare and inviting atmosphere for a fine dining experience. Our server was a bit over anxious to turn our table but other than that, it was a perfect dinner. The sherry mushrooms with polenta cake was a great starter. The filet was tender, delicious and cooked to perfection, accompanied by an dynamite bordelaise sauce and roasted veggies. The chocolate pot a crème rounded out the perfect meal. Disappointed that no cappuccino was available although espresso shots are offered. What a gem of a restaurant tucked into downtown Geneva!
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it fell a little short.... The good: decor, Dani, cheese curds, Cajun pork chop, fries, the white hare and jabberwocky cocktails. The bad: red wine was way too warm. I can handle room temp but this was even warmer and I needed to add ice. Watering down a good Cab sucks. The ugly: the strip steak was ordered medium and came to the table rare. I ate it because re-fired beef is awful. Meat was chewy. I only had one bite towards the end that was medium and tasty. This is a shame for $50, Coming back is a toss-up.

Yelp
We visited The Walrus Room for our annual Christmas dinner. I had never heard of it, but our friend's suggested it and I thought the menu looked fantastic. There were 11 of us in our party. We shared the pork belly, proscuito burrata, and the escargot for appetizers. I had the burrata and escargot and both were delicious. For dinner my husband got the steak and frites and I ordered the walleye. Yum. They both were amazing. Several people got the filet and said it was delicious. my friend also ordered the walleye and said it had the best sauce she had ever had. Wonderful meal and would love to go back!!

Bill P.

Yelp
Outstanding food, service, amidst unique setting. Kris was awesome and we'll definitely return!

Kate B.

Yelp
Excellent food and even better service. Our server overheard us saying the mussels would be good with bread and brought us the best (complimentary) focacia. Then I accidentally ordered Amaro instead of amaretto and he removed the charge without us asking. On top of that, all of the entrees and apps were so good. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Came on a Friday night at 730pm (reserved the night before) and was very happy with their service and more than happy with their food. Our server (unfortunately can't recall her name) did a great job suggesting drinks and food not only sharing details about the dishes but also inquiring about our likes on both drinks and food. We got a Burrata Salad that was pretty amazing, a Mushrooms and Polenta dish that i fell in love with, and a venison dish that was also on the menu That night that was the star of the night - it was perfectly cooked and tender, the veggies were marinated in such a flavorful way, and the serving size was very generous. Look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Didn't know this hidden gem was tucked away in Geneva until a friend said "you NEED to go here". Made reservations on a Thursday night and a good thing we did, it was busy. Be aware, the parking in front of the restaurant is very limited....park on 5th street or State. Really cool, warm decor, very welcoming. We (party of 5) were seated right away. Our server was spot on and efficient! Even though she was busy taking care of many tables, she never forgot about us. Drinks came promptly as did dinner salads. The "side" Caesar salad is delicious, fresh and crispy. 3 in our party ordered the Lake Erie Walleye dinner.....very very good. Perfectly done filets with a delicious rice and mushroom mix. Another had the crawfish étouffée which we all sampled (on the Mardi Gras menu...seasonal). This was a work of art, so tasty. Another had the Cajun Chopped Salad, she raved about it. To finish off this wonderful meal/evening, we had delicious fresh coffee with the homemade VooDoo bread pudding (also seasonal) sooooo good! What a treat this was. REALLY looking forward to going back!

Yelp
We met another couple for dinner on Saturday night and we were fairly impressed. The Walrus Room is their new go-to restaurant and I think they're there several times a month, sometimes for appetizers and drinks. They had very high marks for the Cajun Chicken Pot Pie, the Beet Salad and the Crab Rangoon with Thai Remoulade, which was very good - fried crisp and the sauce to die for. We'll be back. That said, the Saturday night special Prime Rib was tough. At $57/plate, that was disappointing. The side of vegetables were overcooked. My shortribs were tasty, but a little dry. The ice cream sandwiches for dessert were a treat. Service was decent, but not outstanding. We want to try more items on the menu in a couple of months My only other criticism is that it's pretty loud in there. I sometimes found myself struggling to hear others at our table. Besides that, it has a great vibe! I can't quite give The Walrus Room 4 stars. But I will give them another chance
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, great ambiance and very nice service. I ate here with my wife on vacation in St. Charles.
google avatar

Alex F.

Yelp
Cool spot for a date night. Great atmosphere and nice interior. The food was good, but overpriced. Chicago prices but not Chicago level tastiness. We'll be back, but probably just for drinks.

Todd G.

Yelp
The cocktails are made perfectly and the escargot is the best I've ever had. I definitely will be going back to try more. The ambience and service is five stars.

Yelp
Had such a lovely experience at The Walrus Room! Wonderful service, delicious food, splendid drinks and beautiful ambiance! Laura is such a gem and was so hospitable. Can't wait for our next visit :)

Warren W.

Yelp
Met a number of friends for a weekday dinner. Place wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. Service was good with a nice menu selection. Food was good but in this environment of high end locations this place is just ok. Prices however a just too high. Scotch selection was poor and they charge $2 for the large ----Their words "Premium" ---- ice cube. $2 for FROZEN WATER???!!! Come on! If you've never been to this place....go. But I doubt we'll return...too many other more interesting locations in the Fox River Valley.

Yelp
Our first visit to this relatively new (3 years old?) restaurant impressed us. My Curious Feeling cocktail ( gin based) with its very balanced sour-sweet taste served as a promising prelude to a dinner. We did not order any appetizers this evening while anticipating our steak dinners. My Wagyu Steak Bordelaise was cook to perfection and had just a right amount of foie gras to add to the complexe taste of the sauce. My husband's special (on Saturdays) Prime Rib with blueberry horseradish cream was simply outstanding. Even bread brought from my other favorite restaurant Osteria Bigolaro was A+. I am very happy that finally I discovered this gem and cannot wait to be back to try other offerings.

Yelp
*pre covid review* We came here 2 times right before covid happened because we had just recently discovered this restaurant. The first time we came, it was with our friends who are vegetarian/pescatarian and we found that the menu had quite a few options for them. For the table we got the relish tray which honestly wasn't that great in my opinion but it was vegetarian so that was the important thing. Our friends ordered the roasted cauliflower and the impossible burger and we got the prime rib as well as the scallops. Our main dishes were great and we all enjoyed our food and drinks. The second time we came it was for a birthday and there were 8 of us. I ordered a steak and we got apps for the table. It was a really nice meal and we all enjoyed our food. It's always hard to find a place that everyone will want to go to and we found that this ended up being a great pick for the family. Overall we will definitely be back and highly recommend that you come here if you are looking for a nice meal somewhere new!

Yelp
Experienced a fabulous evening at the Walrus Room last night! The vibe is terrific, service & food was also stellar! Maintaing service, presentation & great food is tough for restaurant owners today, they're definitely doing something exceptional! We'll be back. Thanks for a great evening out with friends!!

Yelp
Walking in the door for our first time at The Walrus Room, we were not immediately impressed--it smelled like burnt fish. There was a crowd in the restaurant at 7:00 on a Saturday night but it wasn't booked and tables were open. Yet, the host wanted to sit us directly next to the front door, despite the fact that our reservation indicated we were there to celebrate our anniversary. Not finding that the most romantic spot to sit we asked for a different table. We did have great service and drinks were on point as well. We had the mushroom polenta appetizer and it was delicious. My husband had the scallop maque choux. The scallops were gritty and overcooked. I had the fried perch sandwich. I'm not exaggerating when I say it really had no taste--it tasted like the bun and nothing else. It's not good when you yearn for a McDonald's filet-o-fish instead of the sandwich you are eating. I'd probably skip this place and go to one of the many other wonderful restaurants in the area.

Yelp
We went for the birthday party and couldn't order a dessert. Because according to our server we sat too long. I mean what... if you want to time reservations within 1 hr limit i do not think you should be in a restaurant business. The point of going to the restaurant is to enjoy your company and food and not feeling rushed. Food was mediocre as well. Definitely not recommend and not coming back.

Stacey L.

Yelp
The food was incredible, the staff was friendly and over the top helpful and the atmosphere was perfect for an intimate night out. The restaurant is not overly large but still feels spacious and yet still cozy. We got the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection and the trout almandine which just melted in my mouth. Has great recommendations for drink pairings and was not disappointed. We will definitely be back. This is now one of my favorite go-to restaurants!

Pam W.

Yelp
Good cocktails and wine. Delicious food and appetizers! Good service. I will be back!

Yelp
Yowza!! We originally had reservations for March 14, but the shutdown had just happened :-( Soo we FINALLY felt safe enough to go and MAN! Was it worth the wait! Every. Single. Thing. About the place was PHENOMENAL! The service, the food, the cleanliness, the drinks and the decor were all fabulous! I did not have a single complaint about anything and left incredibly satisfied! I'm glad we trekked out! (Btw because they are off the main strip in town there is AMPLE parking! Big plus!)

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice dinner on a Wednesday night. The bar (which seats about 10 was full). The dining room was pretty full as well. Drink menu is varied and has something for everyone. We ordered the cheese curds with hot peppers, which were delicious. The filet and pork chop as entrees did not disappoint either! We splurged for dessert with ice cream and a slice of cheesecake, which was kindly comped as we were celebrating. Our service was prompt, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Glad we found this place through Yelp!

Domenick G.

Yelp
Food is 2/10 but priced much higher. Give your business to another one of the many fine Geneva establishments

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Modern and classic at same time, yet the staff is welcoming and friendly. Bartenders are great and the cocktails are excellent. Food has never let us down and the pork chop is the best I ever had.

Yelp
We finally got a sitter & made it to The Walrus Room. Love the vibe, had a great waitress. Everything seemed a little over salted. Please invest in RO or bottled water. The tap water was awful. That being said, their cheese curds with peppers & aioli were some of the best we have ever had any where hands down. I ordered the steak & frites which my husband and I both agreed would have been better with a side of whipped potatoes. I did add the truffle fries, which were very good. Hubby ordered the wagyu steak which was much more to my liking & not over salted like my peppered NY strip. We will give them another try. We both left over all satisfied but with over salted aftertaste in our mouths.

Yelp
Yummy cocktails and such nice people here! We had the coziest little table in the corner for a much needed date night since having our baby. Will definitely return to try more food and drinks.

Yelp
The walrus room is a great spot just off of route 38 in Geneva, Il. The cocktails and appetizers are easily 5 stars. The main dishes were not bad, but left something to be desired for the price. I had a fish fry weekly special and a friend had the steak and frites. However, the great service, drinks, and atmosphere easily outweigh this shortcoming in my opinion. Seating is also very limited until the patio is open, so calling ahead is recommended.
