A group of 4 of us were checking out the cloudy, but still amazing views on the Top of The Rock. We were told at the check in that it was zero visibility, but didn't care and were excited to check it out. This review is about the small cafe/ restaurant right in-between the lower viewing decks. They had menus posted on the border of the seating area and I decided to go in and grab a cup of coffee, (Americano, I don't think they have regular joe), there were two people who, as I started to walk into the seating area, made themselves known as staff and that I had to ask for a seat. I was a bit stunned since I did see them, but they had paid no attention to me looking at the menus and such until I walked in to get coffee to go. I stated that I just wanted to grab some coffee and they said I could go ahead and walk back. A bit jarring. The prices were pretty expensive but not surprising considering where you are and what you're doing. The rest of my group (3 others) eventually filtered in and they all had a similarly not so friendly experience with the wait staff and were basically asked to spend money on food/ drinks if they wanted to sit down. Mind you, this is a cloudy slow day and there were always a few seats available for the ~30 minutes we were there. The coffee cup left blue dye on my fingers which is a bit disappointing after spending so much money on it. Did not feel welcome until we left and then it was all smiles and nice words.
