The Western Bar & Kitchen - Review - North Center - Chicago - The Infatuation
"This North Center bar and restaurant mashes up Southwest-inspired food and drinks with improv. Along with serving dishes like oyster chile relleno and BBQ tiger prawns with mojo de ajo, The Western will also be the new home for comedy collective CIC Theater.
We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - John Ringor

"A taste of the Southwest arrives in North Center from two hospitality veterans, serving Sonoran-influenced dishes such as oysters chile rellano, barbecue prawns with mojo de ajo, and a burger with gruyere, bacon jam, and watercress; agave-based spirits drive the drinks, downstairs houses pool and cocktail lounges, and a theater space debuting in the fall will become the new home of CIC Theater." - Jeffy Mai
"You can’t miss this place if you’re driving by. And once inside you won’t want to leave. With a truly stunning interior and exclusive beers you can’t find anywhere else, the Finch Beer Co.’s official brewpub is a site to behold. A towering neon bird, exposed timber beams, and walls covered in salvaged barn wood, as well as a nice view of the brewery next door, makes this a memorable stop on Montrose Ave. Also, thanks to chef Matthias Merge, the menu is made up of mostly handcrafted sausages. Beers, sausages, Chicago." - Bark Design
Brand new Bar + Kitchen to the neighborhood. Venue: Large rectangular bar with loose and banquette seating. In back, there is a room for pool and there will also be a second cocktail lounge forthcoming. Food: Chips and guess was fine, the burger was very good (it does lean sweet so I recommend adding the egg) and my fiance had the southwest chicken salad which she complimented. Service: The Staff was fantastic.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere! The chicken tenders were delicious, and we had fun celebrating a friend’s birthday/Halloween in the back room, reserved ahead of time, with pool table and cocktail bar!

Super duper chill place with live Irish music some Tuesdays. The food is so fantastic. Have done the fries, the burgers and the mussels. (OMG THE MUSSELS) Good beer selection. Kid friendly if you want to bring your young ones for dinner.
The staff is so sweet.
There is free parking down the block and Chicago paid parking in front. Frequent Western busses go by if you would like to imbibe.
Love this place.

The burgers and fries were phenomenal! As we were leaving, we got to sample some smoked wings courtesy of one of the chefs, and we will definitely be getting those next time we go! The homemade chips and queso were also delicious. And our server was kind and attentive. Kids meals are only $8 and the portions are generous!

Watched Sunday night football and grabbed a quick late night bite. The burger and fries (ordered medium) was outstanding and everyone around the bar was very cordial and jovial. Great neighborhood spot to unwind after a long day or maybe a night you don’t feel like cooking. Will definitely be stopping in again soon!

I love the understated Southwestern decor and delicious yet affordable options for drinks and food. In particular, the chicken strips were really tasty (I recommend a BBQ sauce/habanero ranch combo) and the wine selection is a far higher quality than your typical neighborhood bar and restaurant. Can't wait to go back!

I had my 40th birthday party here and it was the perfect spot for it. The main bar area is spacious and really nice, and there’s the bonus room with a pool table and more seating! The owners were really easy to talk to when setting all of this up. I’ve been back since and will keep coming back!

Awesome local dive bar with topnotch service from the bartender Lisa. They advertise food on the sign but all they offer is frozen store bought pizza. Not bad when you are drinking
