We saw “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. Fantastic production!!! Incredible performances, fantastic stage design, inspired lighting, stellar orchestra. This is a great space for epic theatre.

Wonderful small studio theater as well as a main stage.

There is not a bad seat in the house. You could sit ANYWHERE & be able to have a front row seat feeling. The only thing is I would suggest bringing a jacket/ blanket due to heavy air conditioning 🥶

one of the best theatre companies in the Bay area. high quality productions! the staff are so helpful and friendly making them super easy to work with. If you're interested in theatre whether it's your first time or you're equity, you'll find your place here!

The theater is well done with good seating anywhere. The Hartnell choir did a great job!

I'm watching the live stage performance of The Miracle Worker. Act I just ended. It was terrific! It's a very intimate venue, putting you up close to the actors. If you have a chance, see one of the plays here. Better yet, buy the season. ... Act II was even better!

Yelp
Great small live theater in Salinas (I know hard to believe). Excellent value and good performance. Unfortunately they still demand ancient Covid requirements and don't even bother to use the current recommendations of the State of California and the County of Monterey. Also you are forced to endure the pre-performance propaganda of the plight of the Native American which has absolutely no relevance to live theater. Just another liberal left wing guilt trip. Yelp
What a lovely little theatre. It is so well appointed. The seats are so new and so comfy. The staff is very bubbly and engaging. Well with that said, let's get y o the show. We saw A View from the bridge. The play was done very well with strong characters and performances in all roles. Seems to me worthy of a return for other shows. Live theatre. Always a fun experience.

Yelp
Shows here can be a hit or miss to some but I've really enjoyed a couple. The younger kids program is great too. The costumes are awesome, and the sets are usually really nice to look at. I prefer the smaller shows compared to the big, flashy musicals. The musicals tend to feel really repetitive. The people here are friendly, and very welcoming of people wanting to learn theatre. The casts are talented as well, and the acting usually feels crisp and raw. If you see a show here, I definitely recommend the black box shows more.

Yelp
I have now gone to 2 shows at TWS, both absolutely fabulous performances. The cast & crew are all amazing and put on top-notch shows. Since my previous review I have learned that they do offer student discounts of a sort. They call it "student rush" and offer tickets (first come, first serve, subject to availability) for $5 (cash only) starting 5 minutes before curtain. Personally, as a student, I'd rather fork over a discounted $15 in advance rather than leave things to chance and/or get stuck with bad seats. But that's just me, and I do applaud the creativity in the student offer.

Yelp
I have attended several shows at The Western Stage. All have been fantastic! It is a very talented group of very hard-working people! We have never been disappointed. An evening at The Western Stage is always a good time. Specifically, the best show I have seen there was White Christmas in December 2012. It was beyond fantastic. It's a great value in entertainment.
