Hotel entrance and lobby area is grand. It’s also iconic and for those of you old enough the film true lies Arnold shwarzenegar was filmed here. There is a bar located in the centre. ||The location is good if you’re looking to stay somewhere in downtown. There is a convenience store 2 blocks down around 10 mins. There is also a 7/11 however this is a little over 15-20 min walk. ||The hotel is huge. The rooms and floors are located in different towers. All floors have free ice machines located in the centre of the floor. The beds are comfy and we got a good nights sleep no issue here. The bathroom is a decent size with a tub. ||The breakfast has a good choice and you can request a delicious eggs Benedict included. ||We want to thank Rosemary one of the duty managers as we had an issue but she quickly resolved this. She listened and provided a stellar service. I want to extend our gratitude to her meeting all our needs during our stay. She is a real asset to this company.

Sophia at the Front desk was so accommodating and friendly she really made my family and myself feel welcome. Her customer service was beyond what I expected not only the first night we checked in but at all times her friendly attitude with all guest was amazing. Thank you Sophia for a great experience we will definitely come back soon.

The front desk staff were not very pleasant and made me feel uncomfortable asking questions about my stay. The room I was given was a room where someone obviously smokes in and would give me a headache asap. We had to go back downstairs after being treated short the first time. Typically I am never hesitant reaching out to customer service or the front desk. No wants to be treated harshly or put down. The room we were given next was on the 29 floor. Hallway Carpet was gross. Room is old looking and tv barely works. Bed is definitely not a queen bed which we were promised. It is a full. Not a good experience so far.

My first impression of the hotel was that it is huge and a little bit outdated, so before coming here I was a little bit worried about this. After my week-long stay, I can tell that I liked it a lot. The room is spacious, you have a coffee machine, ironing, big TV and a great view from your window. The best thing for me was the outdoor pool, that was great 👍🏼 Loved coming here for a swim at the morning watching sun playing on windows of skyscrapers. Nice breakfast at the hotel buffet, opportunity to have a beer at the lobby bar and great location (especially at the end of stay when you can find paths at the labyrinth of hotel exits.

Was there in September 2023. The worst room service ever, actually I wouldn't call paper plates and food deliver in paper bags "room service". Staff at the reception indifferent. Rooms just nice, nothing extraordinary. A restaurant at the site working only till 2 pm. Food just basic in the caffè. If you like the sea and the beach, this hotel is too far away.

I was here presenting at a conference so I didn't have much choice on the my stay but I will say I was pleasantly surprised by the inside. There are multiple towers so you have to make sure you get on the right elevator because I was supposed to get on green and got on red instead and was losing my mind for a moment trying to find my room. There is supposed to be some sort of mall type thing inside but it's all closed and looks kind of abandoned. I got the feeling it was like an abandoned mall? It was a little weird. The conference rooms were really nice though. There is a coffee shop on the first floor and they say they serve Starbucks coffee but it is definitely NOT a Starbucks so just be prepared they serve basic coffee and espresso. No syrups or anything. There are quick to go sandwiches and salads at that particular cafe and right next to it there is a really nice bar. The food is okay, nothing spectacular but will do for a quick bite to eat after a long trip. Apparently this place is famous for being the site of lots of films and they have little plaques to indicate what was filmed there. I parked in the parking garage across the street and it is heavily monitored and very secure from what I saw. Right at the entrance there is a security guard and multiple TV monitors. The rooms are really nice and the lighting in them is perfect. The beds and pillows are definitely comfortable. The photo is a view from my room and I did have to close the curtain so folks in the elevator could not see into my room. I would definitely stay there just for the location -- lots of cool places within walking distance.

Google
Disappointing for a Westin establishment. ||Couldn’t find my booking during check in even though I prepaid 4 nights stay via Agoda. Eventually found my booking after close to 45mins and they gave me complimentary breakfast for the long wait.||Room’s safe is faulty and couldn’t get a replacement or repair. Rooms are outdated and could use a renovation.||Room service didn’t provide new towels and restock the facial Kleenex tissues. Only sent up to room after request. Room service missed my room cleaning for a day and they couldn’t send anyone up as all the room cleaning staff are done for the day.||Location is a distance away from the nearest metro station.||Beds and pillows are very comfortable to rest in, one of the best we have ever slept on in a hotel.||On the last day, hot water for showering is inconsistent even after 8hrs servicing. Room cleaning also didn’t top up shower gel and shampoo. Really disappointing.

My stay was a nightmare that I'm still dealing with since I was charged twice for my room. I left 2 messages for a manager to call me back and I have yet to receive a call. I'm livid! After waiting in line to check in for 2 hours, I was not provided with the room type that I reserved. I was forced to take a King room when I booked a traditional double. It was very uncomfortable. The room that I was given was next to the noisy elevator. It screeched all day and all night long. The room was not clean. The doors were dirty and the toilet had urine drops on the rim....so gross! The carpet in the hallway was stained and dirty. The Mexican restaurant in the lobby had tasteless food and had terrible service. The hotel lists food courts on 2 floors and there wasn't much there at all. I remember when that hotel was amazing some years ago, but that is no longer the case. It's run down and should be closed. It may be better use to house the homeless there.

Yelp
We came for a fast lil weekend getaway! Omg!! This place is beautiful! So fancy!!! Its structure both inside & outside is pretty amazing! The only thing is that they don't have self parking they only have valet parking which is about $50 a stay; since you are downtown, it's kind of cool to walk around but inside they have a car rental a store a 24 hour bar and coffee/snacks. It's pretty amazing. They also have a steakhouse and Delmar on the 34th floor where we ate which was pretty good! When we arrived and check in, I don't remember her name but she was super sweet and gave us a great room on the 29th floor! Would definitely come back and stay here!

Yelp
* Overall this place is ok, but pretty dated, especially the rooms. Carpet looks pretty old fashioned. * Rooms have no time device, as in, no alarm clock. * No microwave in our room, but at one point I saw one on the floor in the hallway. * AC is situated a few feet above the bed, and its loud. It'll wake you up. * Amount of usb outlets in the room was nice * Our room had half rolls if TP with no extra * Ironing board cover had some sort of padding underneath it that was quite clumpy on one side * Theres absolutely nothing in the rooms about the property's amenities. Its kind of frustrating. Didn't know who to call for more towels so I called the number on the website thinking its the front desk or something and it took me to a call center, the person said they're not on property and to call a different number. I did, and that person transferred me to "Service Express". Turns out that's a button on the phone, but nothing around tells you that's what it's for. * The phones look really old. Ours was not charged and won't charge. Battery light always on. * Wanted to eat at Lakeview Bistro so we stood near the sign that said Please Wait to be Seated. No one came over to us. The front has no hours of operation. Folks were eating, saw a server and a busser or two but the front desk was deserted. Checked online and it said they were closed so we left to get room service instead. * We couldn't find a room service menu online or in the rooms. Went to concierge and they gave me a few hastily printed photocopies of it. Called to order and I thought I had the wrong number as the person only said "hello" on the other line... I had to asked if this was room service lol. * I say this again... their on property marketing is pretty nonexistent. Turns out that the 4th and I think 5th level has a whole other handful of restaurants and shops that THEY DON'T MENTION ANYWHERE except a small sign near the elevator... theres a Japanese steakhouse, brewery, small cafe... Had no idea until our last day when someone in another group noticed and pointed at the sign by the elevator. Said something like "5th Floor: Dining and Shops". This place is AAA Four diamond award winning. I'm an advertising manager at a major casino resort property about 400 miles north thats also Four Diamond and realize this place needs to get better info in front of guests eyes somehow. Valet parking is about $50 a day. If you come and go, and spend a few days here, you experience tip annoyance. I was about $200 in parking fees not including tip. $40 a day across the street but I believe you can't come and go without paying separately each time. You can't take their luggage carts over there. ALL employees were very nice. I experienced height induced anxiety which is rare for me as they put us on the 19th floor. We asked and they graciously moved us to the 10th floor. They brought extra towels and TP promptly when requested. I don't typically dont have housekeeping do room cleanings when I stay in a hotel. In room dining was delicious. Coffee shop crew operates quick and with good services. Bell crew and valet crews are wonderful too. This was 1 of 2 hotels we're staying at on this trip. The second, is Springhill Suites in Burbank and I type this up as I'm in the room. The front desk gave me a nice pamphlet that has dining and things to do nearby. This place is smaller so maybe they can give more attention to individual groups a little easier.

Yelp
My sister and I stayed here during our most recent visit to LA. Check-in was a breeze as they have a separate counter for Marriott Bonvoy Elite. The hotel itself is fine. A bit outdated IMHO. The layout is a bit funky and having to take the escalators twice down from the lobby level to get to the valet is a bit of a pain. With Marriott Titanium status you get complimentary breakfast. The breakfast is ok. Decent selection of scrambled eggs, egg whites, eggs Benedict, shredded potatoes, bacon, etc. The smoked salmon was fishy AF and should've been thrown out. 1-star for the valet parking. For $49/night, I specifically asked for my Tesla to be plugged-in overnight and the gentleman who took my key said they can charge it only up to 75%. That was fine with me, but I come to realize the next day they didn't even bother plugging the vehicle in.. SMDFH. Tip fatigue is also real AF, especially during a multiple night stay. Just give folks the option to self-park.

Yelp
The building from the outside is spectacular from certain views. Each view inside is spectacular. The service is excellent except for the management. More on that as the closer. The hotel is also very spread out, massive and spacious on the inside. The beds are old school Westin Heavenly beds (don't get sucked into ordering one online. What they sell online doesn't come close to what is in the hotel rooms, I know I wasted thousands on one of the online Westin Heavenly mattresses). The pillows are also very comfortable. The view from our glass wall window was excellent. The management is terrible. The pool was shot during my stay, which was a point why I selected the hotel. it was shut without notice. When I called the management, they didn't even bother to call me back. Because of the poor managementI dinged it one star.

Yelp
Stayed at another Marriott property in DTLA. Pros: * great service at the front desk - easy check in process, complimentary water, and friendly staff. * beautiful lobby with water fountains creating a more relaxing environment. * coffee shop and restaurant in the lobby. * gym, shopping, and steakhouse on the property. * spacious property - four towers - suites available. Cons: * not an ideal location. Witnessed three separate outbursts outside the property during my overnight stay. * poor air ventilation. Vents in the room need to be cleaned out. Kept coughing throughout the night and allergies were in full activation. Dust. * a lot of people under the influence who hang out near the entrance to the hotel (where guests wait for ride sharing). * minimal security supervision.

Yelp
We stayed at the Westin Bonaventure for four nights. The longer we stayed, the more we enjoyed the hotel. That's probably because it took us that long to discover the amenities offered. There is no informational binder in the room that explains them. Find the right app and figure it out yourself, I guess. We arrived by walking from the transit station. The Map application directed us to the entrance on Figueroa St. But that entrance was closed except for hotel guests with a room pass key. A sign on the door told us to use the Flower street entrance. It was late and we were tired from traveling all day. Which direction was Flower street? A diagram would have been helpful. Room service was excellent. Service was friendly by all staff. The bed pillows were fully stuffed and so difficult to sleep with. Two choices: Firm and hard would have been better. I like my pillows hard, but this was too high for me, even for a 'hug' side pillow! Bonus for the nice shower head! Negative for the sloppy-made bed (like someone just ironed the sheets down, done! First impression? Nah! See photo) There's also a lot of dust, above our bed, and shelves in bathroom. On the second night we had drinks and food in the revolving restaurant on the 34th floor. Only problem was, that the revolving part was out of order. The drinks and food and service were all good though. I took video and made myself a 'revolving reel'. There are three towers and each tower has a separate elevator. We accessed our room via the Red elevator. We discovered, on our last night there, the 4th floor of the Yellow tower. There is a great sports bar there and a well-stocked convenience store. Who knew? To get there, take the escalator to the 3rd or 5th floor, then take the stairs to the 4th. This hotel is in the center of it all, with connections to buses and light rail nearby. Access to Uber and Lift rides was easy from the Flower street exit.

Yelp
My favorite place to wander around and get my steps in ! This place is a magnificent marvel ! Everyone's great and wonderful here . The valet concierge is number one ! The steakhouse is awesome ! This is my favorite place to visit on my nights off . Love it love it love it

Yelp
I would agree this is about a 3 star experience. Location is central and lobby is huge and very corporate feeling. I like the elevator with views to the city but the rooms are older, carpet feels a little musty. Paint could be refreshed. I don't like that the main blanket feels like it's never washed - like a duvet at bottom of bed. I didn't use it because of that and was cold. Smaller room. I'd prefer to stay at the Sheraton.

Paul B.

Yelp
The parking garage at first was fast and easy, but when we checked out the wait was an easy 20-40 minutes. Last year we parked across the street and it was much faster. It is cool that there are multiple colors of elevators. Though the gym is dark and there is no natural light. We saw a movie being filmed which is normal in LA. Overall a 3.5.

Sandra C.

Yelp
Do NOT use valet. You will wait over an hour for your car. Stayed one night ...this time used valet, which was convenient to check in but regretted it at checkout due to long wait. .... Tons of people waiting for their cars as if we were waiting to board an airplane. Valet is $50 compared to self park around $32 (price a year ago when we were last here). Room a bit odd shaped but nice view. Comfy king bed, desk, small TV, frig, safe. Cool elevators so you see outside as you travel. Location central in LA to even walk to your destination. Wish gym had windows looking outside instead of indoor windows. Small but decent. Has cardio equipment, weights, wet and dry towels, headphones to use. Movie was being filmed outside hotel but could not tell who or what.

Nikki J.

Yelp
Stayed in a 2 bed room in the red tower for a few nights. Room is spacious, but there was only one chair and the beds in ours (if that's something you need). It doesn't come with a microwave, but when we asked reception they sent one to our room. There is a fridge, check the temp because ours was on the coldest and froze all our food. Front desk was always very friendly and helpful. We ate downstairs one night. It was a bit busy because the Emmy's party was downstairs. Nonetheless our server was attentive. And the food was delicious and great portions.

Yelp
Awesome service. Chill spot. My wife and I enjoyed an early dinner since we were avoiding some of that LA traffic. Detour found us at a seafood buffet, but that was not satisfying at all. After getting back to our hotel, we were debating where we'd go for dinner #2, and we didn't wanna go too crazy on the funds lol. Thankfully, Westin Hotel has a bar & restaurant on their lobby floor. Very beautiful, serene atmosphere, that was lively with football being played on their big screen tv, and small groups of people crowding around the bar. My wife and I weren't sure of the protocol and there is no one to greet or sit you. Taking our chances, we made our way up to the main level of tables and found ourselves a table. As we were about to get comfortable, a server walked up from nearby and happily told us, "yes! Please sit down. I'll be right back to help you." Very friendly lady. We decided to keep it minimal since we would be flying out the next day, so all we ordered was the Nachos Dela Casa (to pick on), Heineken and a Moscow Mule. Okay - that Moscow Mule was extremely delicious! I really wished I got like 3 more, but I was trying to avoid living in regret at 4am the next morning. Ah boo. Haha! The nachos were as basic as it gets, and my wife enjoyed her Heineken that was chilled just right. Positive Perk: Take your drinks up to your room if you can't finish at the table. Only issue we had was them not answering their phone when trying to order room service. Hope you have a great experience!

Yelp
Ok, I'm still at the hotel but all ya need to know is it gets crowded- which is a good thing. The Holidays, parties and such. My gripe, sandwiched rooms by two people with small children and one dirty diaper outside my door???- come on. Yeah I told the front desk. Gift shops- wayyyy overpriced. Bring your own snacks; bottle of 6 $ wine in the gift shop is 23$. A bottled water at 24 hour Starbucks-5$. Beer and a red wine at the bar25$? Pool is closed for renovations. Gym was open. Hair nail salon open. Food court is being renovated I guess, all closed but one Korean joint that served the best Korean Ribs ever!!!-totally recommend this Gem of a Eatery. Oh Asada Nachos- at the bar- 25$. I'm going the next two days get better. Ohhhhh and parking is like 49$

Nate B.

Yelp
I stay here a few times a year for work. It's a weird hotel and the parking is a pain, but I don't even care because my stay isn't about leisure. My room had bed bugs. I probably got bit 30 times and had a bad reaction. Two days of painful itching. They moved me to a bug-free room in the middle of the night and comped my room. Since work reimburses me for the room, I lost out on credit card points and the management wouldn't hook me up with any Marriott Bonvoy points to make up for the loss or the pain.

Ben C.

Yelp
Westin Bonaventure certainly boasts a striking lobby, and its proximity to nearby towers is convenient for work travel. However, the lack of complimentary breakfast, mandatory valet parking leading to tipping fatigue, and outdated, cramped rooms with small TVs left much to be desired. For travelers seeking modern amenities and more spacious accommodations, this might not be the ideal choice.

Ka'ipo R.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a few days a week ago. The interior is nice with water foundations around. I liked that they had a 24/7 coffee shop with the most friendliest and attentive staff working there. They have a pool which was too cold to use as it was early 60s and a small area outside to walk your dog which my friend used. The was a Brewery on the 4th floor that was really good and again, amazing service. Sadly, we didn't see any court yard food places that were advertised. We at at their Prime restaurant which on the 35th floor. The food and service was amazing. The only issue was that one night, I could hear people next to us talking late night for a couple of hours which was right next to our bed. Our room was a little smaller than we expected but our King bed was comfortable and they had good room service. The parking is like $53? Luckily we didn't rent a car but my friend parked her car across and got a deal for $30/night. Overall, it was a nice experience here.

Yelp
This is a review for an event in one of their ballrooms. Did not have high expectations as Bonaventure already felt kinda old ten years ago when I was checking it out for a grad school event, and the food provided averaged out to...average. Service bumps this review up a little. Event started with an open bar before the doors to the main room opened; no open bar after so make sure you get your alcohol! We had Chinese food at this banquet, first course with appetizers (jellyfish, roast duck, mushrooms, etc) was actually pretty good. Second course was a mishmash of lobster, steak, egg rolls, and a large platter of noodles -- lobster was disappointing flavor and did not taste fresh (more than one person next to me left it unfinished), steak was overdone, egg rolls not crispy -- what a disappointment. Last course was dessert which started on a higher note of a decent look and decent tasting chocolate fruit tart, but quickly turned sour when we were literally served SOUR taro and tapioca coconut milk soup (normally a classic Chinese SWEET dessert), efforts to get a replacement went nowhere as the event ended shortly after. All in all, a roller coaster of good - bad - good - bad.

Yelp
TL;DR : Keep your curtains closed when you're naked because EVERYONE in the elevator can see through your window. You also might get mistakenly charged $339! Have fun! For the love of all things pure, let me preface with this: DO NOT KEEP YOUR THICK CURTAINS OPEN WHILE YOU ARE UNDRESSED. For context, the elevator has windows at a near 360 with the exception of the doors, and you can see Los Angeles and other hotel rooms as you go up in it. I can not tell you how many naked women I have seen on this trip in the four days I stayed here, each with no idea that there hotel room was completely visible from the elevator. I can not stress enough that without the curtains closed, it is literally see through. I always went to the room they were in and let them know that you could see them just by passing by in the elevator and to make sure their curtain was closed, and immediately they were grateful I told them. In the photo I included of the inside of the elevator, you can see in the bottom left corner that even the thin curtain they have open is see through. I could see in the room completely, so make sure to close the thick curtain. Please keep this in mind! Additionally...the hotel charged me $339?! I noticed upon my second day that this random charge had appeared within my bank account and went to the front desk to ask what the heck it was, in which they said was "for parking". Huh? I had only parked here for three nights, and that certainly didn't add up to $339. The woman said it was because they had included the extra $200 as "spending credit", and that whatever I didn't use was refunded once I checked out. Yeah, alright. I just went to my room and figured I would call if it wasn't. Few days later, I notice the day after checking out that my security deposit was refunded, but not my supposed "spending credit" from the $339 charge. Not only that, but I also had a $161 charge added! Called again, the male on the other side said the $161 was for parking. I thought so, the total added up correctly. I told him about my exchange with the woman (because I guess the $339 wasn't for parking after all), and he said it was a mistake, and I would be refunded the $339 in a few business days. How do you mistakenly charge $339?! I didn't even spend that much in any other service at this hotel! That is insane. How does that even happen?! Also, the lady lying about it?! Huh? Apart from this, lobby is nice. There was one lady at the Starbucks in the lobby all the nights I stayed, and as I went there for an ice water, she was so sweet and apologized if I had to wait. The male there was nice as well, but I did not have the same amount of experience with him as I did her. So polite! Additionally, about 20 minutes after checking out I had realized I left a rather expensive item in the room. I had gone back to the lobby to ask if I could run up and grab it quickly, and they let me do that once I provided an ID. I appreciated that more than I could express! Overall, hotel could do better. Leave a sign in each room letting them know the thin curtains are see through, and that you can see into the rooms in the elevator! And please don't mistakenly charge nearly half a grand and then be okay with one of your employees lying about "spending credit" or whatever. Kind of weird don't you think? Oh, and please include a microwave in the rooms and get a better mini fridge. That fridge was about as powerful as someone blowing on hot soup.

Yelp
The hotel is an iconic Los Angeles landmark and uniquely designed in a circular pattern. The rooms are a bit smaller than normal hotel rooms since it's circular. The room was very clean and had all the needed amenities. The front desk service was very good and we loved the free cookies and waters available in the lobby. While at the hotel it was very difficult to get a hold of housekeeping. There is no phone button in the room for housekeeping. We asked a housekeeper for towels and were told they would be delivered. They never came and forgot about it. The hotel only offers underground valet parking. The hotel and lobby were fine but next time we will book a different Marriott property.

Yelp
We stayed at the Westin Bonaventure in Downtown LA for nearly a week (Aug 7-13, 2023). We had a very pleasant time here. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful whenever we had a question. Everything there is of great quality. Duly note that this was our first time staying in a higher tier hotel for a trip, so it wouldn't take much to make an impression. We're not hotel snobs whatsoever. Our room was spacious and neat however the age of the hotel began to show as it was lacking key features you'd expect from other hotels. These include a fan in the bathroom, a more powerful air conditioning unit (we set it to low 60's and neither of us really felt it got that cool in the room), and a standard microwave - we have to request one from the lobby which was just an extra step. Also the cafe that's situated in the center of the lobby, I advise against ordering a quick bite to eat from there. I paid nearly $15.00 for a pizza expecting something substantial but I received a small personal pizza that tasted like something I could've gotten from the frozen aisle in a nearby grocery store. Faults aside, we did enjoy our stay here but if we planned another trip in the area, we would most likely opt out of staying here and staying at the Omni which is nearby. My girlfriend had stayed there for a prior conference and she emphatically stated that it was better - it may be worth the slight premium. With that being said, we've not given up on the Westin, and we'll give it 1 more shot before we make a decision on whether or not to continue to book here. Let's hope they impress.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night (Wed) when we went to SSP concert at the Bellwether. I've been to this Westin (for business conference) in the past but never stayed here and this was the first time we stayed at this location. If you're not a Marriott Bonvoy member, I highly recommend you sign up for one, especially for one of their CCs (if the nature of your job or lifestyle involves frequent travel). Since I'm a Platinum level with Marriott, I always try to stay with Marriott chain whenever I can. This Westin was pretty nice. It is a very old and historical hotel, so you can't expect everything to be super clean modern and dandy. We had a great experience here! The front desk was great and super professional! I forgot my toothbrush and they gave me a kit! The room was nice. It is like a maze finding your tower, but once you kind of get the layout of the building, it is a bit easier... The breakfast (came with Platinum) was pretty good! It has a wide variety of cuisines and service at the restaurant was great! When we came back from the restaurant, we also got some late night snacks at the cafe in the lobby, which opened late and they also served hot food. (It was partly a Starbucks that served other gourmet hot food). Overall, it is a very beautiful historic hotel. Many movies were filmed here and if I have some business or pleasure in DTLA, I would make sure to stay here again! One tip, when you book, make sure you book the rate that comes with parking.

Yelp
It was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at the Bonaventure. I am completely disappointed. The disappointment started upon opening the door to my room Blue Tower #2364. The bed was not made, and had soiled linens, the top spread was tattered and had a large stain (fadded) but visible across more than have the width of the bed. Pillows were in disarray and dirty. Flooring, (carpet) was filthy. The ice container had moisture in it, and no plastic liners were provided. The bathroom counter was soiled with a sticky substance, and the floor towel for the bath appeared to be not professionally filded, used, and dirty. Just awful! I went down to the front desk and the staff member was very polite, courteous, and professional and offered to change my room, stating that they were all the same Being very fatigued from my long travels, I elected to have housekeeping just come and freshen up the room as I had not yet unpacked. I elected to waint in the lobby. Upon returning to my room, the bed was touched, but NOT made to basic standards. Linens were still dirty. I was not comfortable at all but was not feeling well as a result of travel fatigue. The food services from the Captains for the SEIU Convention were not very accommodating. The food was often COLD, and unreplinished. The breakfast potatoes at one point had enough salt to season several meals. Ran out of bowls for oatmeal, then brought out cups and even worse had the audacity to tell us to use paper cups for the oatmeal. So

Yelp
We stayed in the red tower and were offered a room on a high floor. It was nice and quiet. Rooms have blackout curtains which make it easy to sleep. Housekeepers started working the floor at 9. They were very nice and greeted us every day. The room was spacious and comfortable. Nice city views. Wish i had known you have to request artificial fill pillows. Also wish the staff provided a rundown of amenities on check in. We did not discover the microwave or fridge until almost our last day. Same with the rotating bar upstairs! We ate every morning at the convenient friendly Starbucks clone. Delicious breakfast sandwiches and late night snacks- open almost all night. Their staff was so nice, too! We found the staff in general to be very accommodating and helpful. They had great suggestions and even arranged for a ride to the airport in a limo.

Yelp
I'm traveling to Los Angeles often as my daughter is a student at USC. Being downtown is very convenient. As a Bon Voyage member for years, I'm loyal to Marriott properties. Recently, I opted for the Westin as it was least expensive to the location I wanted. Although not as brand new compared to the AC or Moxy which are solid options, or first class as nearby JW or Ritz (I've stayed at all these properties), I'll opt for the Bonaventure if I'm staying downtown. It's a full service hotel, including Thai massage which we experienced. All the services you'd want. If you Valet, give yourself enough notice as they are busy. Everyone provided strong customer service and really I have no complaints. Marriotts bedding and sheets are in each room so sleep was heavenly. Not to mention the history of this hotel and all the Hollywood movies it's been in. We enjoyed a cocktail after dinner in the revolving bar to get a view of Los Angeles. Thee hotels are all getting so expensive that my last visit included a fabulous beachfront single family home, inclusive of a garage and three bedroom which cost me the same as the lower end Marriott options downtown. I may be going that route going forward unless room pricing comes down a bit. I recommend this property recognizing it's older but gets the job done overall well.

Yelp
One employee makes this entire hotel a vibe all by herself! Find her at The Lobby Court restaurant and bar which also has a Starbucks. She's super fantastic and her name is Tika Sobri! Best server I've had in ages! She's very funny, knows her stuff, understands the art of service and is simply a kind soul. She turned out challenging and tiring business week into something to look forward to! Find her and you won't be disappointed! I pray the managers give her credit bc she deserves to be a manager!

Yelp
Beautiful, large hotel. The lobby is gorgeous with the flowing water fountains and stream. There's also a full bar, restaurant, gift shop and Starbucks! They literally have everything. Our room was on the 25th floor and facing out so we could see the Hollywood sign from our window. The room itself was plenty of room for my husband and I. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. I loved the shelving that created space for a "vanity". The room was clean and comfortable. There wasn't much around the hotel, so you'd either have to walk to get to where you want or drive. Our trip was primarily in Korea town and it took about a 10 min car ride to get to our destinations. Great hotel for a great price!

Yelp
What happened to this place? My guess is COVID-19.. But walking around, it was just dad. Downstairs in the lobby and bar area is beautiful. Cool architecture. Inviting water features to look at. But, go up to the food court area and half the place is boarded up. One Asian restaurant had an owner literally sleeping in the front in a booth of their establishment. Very free places were open. A few random places that really didn't make sense for such an upscale place. We wanted to grab a drink at the restaurant on the top floor but it was not open until 5. We did enjoy bumping around. Wish we could have taken the glad elevator to the top but you had to have a room key for the elevator. The parking structure had a line that was barely moving both when we came in and when we left. Not sure what was going on but we were glad we found parking closer by. I still would love to come back and check out the restaurant upstairs, but can't say I'd want to pay the high prices for a room and parking for what little is going on.

Yelp
I love this place. I've stayed here multiple times. Great ambiance, superb dining and cocktails, and amazing views of the city. Rooms are clean, and well insulated from outside noise. I had booked through Expedia and paid for it in advance. There was an issue where the hotel actually didn't have the reservation, but they were able to re-create it and make it work out for me. I'm definitely looking forward to staying here, many more times again in the future.

Yelp
I'm giving a three star rating only because service was great. Unfortunately, this hotel seems past its prime. It's just old and a bit sad. My room in particular is not one of the better ones. For some reason, I got the accessible room and it was tiny and Dated. The layout of the hotel is circular, and it always seems that I choose the wrong direction to walk. The good thing is, you get your steps in. For a convention site, it's not really terrible. Everything is accessible, but it is annoying that elevators do not go to each floor and there's a lot of walking to stairwells or escalators. The restaurants are mediocre, and many of them are not open for all meals. Still, employees are very helpful and made up for the physical attributes of the hotel. Any of the retail spaces are papered up or permanently closed. I probably would not stay here again, except when there's a convention. And even then, I may look for a nicer hotel within walking distance for a future conference. Out of respect for the hotel. I'm not going to post pictures. You can find pictures online. Just know that it's past its glory days.

Yelp
To be fair, I stayed as part of a conference so we received discounted rates. I would have taken off at least one more star if I had paid the full price for my room. Room is clean, bed was decent and kinda comfortable. It was better on one side of the bed... I discovered this my second night of my stay. My photos are of the carpet in the meeting rooms. There is ample meeting space in the hotel and this one of the main choices for the venue. Our group is about 400-700 people, varies each time but gives you a great example to base my review of my experiences with this hotel. Sodas cost $9.50 if you get room service. Whoa! For a can of soda! There are more restraunt option this time than ever before. Staff is very friendly. Food served by hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Housekeepers are awesome and do an amazing job n our rooms. I used ride sharing option so I can't speak to the parking in this hotel

Yelp
Good: The hotel is very outdated but endearing I liked the look and location. It smells like Pirates of the Caribbean from Disneyland because of the water or mold, who knows Bad: Their food selections for room service are very minimal so I needed to DoorDash and usually hotels will hold the food at the front desk for you to pick it up. I have seen this at way less expensive hotels. The nice hotels actually bring you the food. This one doesn't do either. You have to meet your door dash driver in the lobby which is HUGE. It was a huge pain and the front desk person doesn't care at all. They were short and not helpful. I won't be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it. Improve your customer service.

Yelp
Honestly, this is a 3 star kind of place, but because of its fabulous location in the downtown/financial district, it gets an extra star. The lobby itself is pretty cool looking, but a lot of the stores/restaurants in the second and third floor are pretty dated and empty most of the time. The biggest patrons just seem to be business people from other buildings coming over to eat the Bonaventure's food court. The rooms themselves are kind of small and awkwardly shaped because of the tower-shape of the hotel. We also found that, although the hotel is non-smoking, our room stank of cigarette smoke. The best part of this hotel are the views from the glass elevators on the exterior of the hotel, so take all the elevators to see it all. Pro tip: Find the elevator that has the plaque detailing the info about the movie True Lies, which was filmed in-part at this hotel. They also filmed part of Interstellar here! It's just cool Hollywood memorabilia, if you're into that sort of thing.

Lizzie S.

Yelp
Stayed here for work and cannot recommend it enough. I love the history of this hotel--countless movies have been filmed here (like Battle of the Sexes, Vice, Interstellar, Dark Knight Rises, and more) and there's mini exhibits you can see talking about them. There's a nice gift store where you can buy snacks and LA souvenirs. There's a Starbucks where you can get breakfast, baked goods, coffee, and do work in. The lobby has a wonderful fountain. The workout room is chock full not just with bottled water (a must-have since LA water tastes so bad! I'm sorry, I'm a NorCal girlie...), but also 4 Peloton bikes! I was in this workout room each night on the Peloton and had a blast. This is a large hotel with multiple entrances/exits and elevators so it can get confusing. Staff is helpful here. My one complaint is that it was raining the one weekend I was there, and some of the rain seeped through the elevators so you can get wet while you're in there. Location is good downtown--can be a bit gritty, but you're near lots of good food (like Guisados tacos, the Library Bar, Little Sister, ramen, and more), and also right across the street from the famous LA Central Library (the star of the wonderful book The Library Book by Susan Orlean) and blocks from the Last Bookstore!

Alec W.

Yelp
In LA on a work trip and staying downtown. This is a beautiful hotel with lots of amenities. The room is adequate and very clean. I'm on the 29th floor and hear some club music thumping from outside. Incredibly loud. The neighborhood is deteriorating. I passed homeless on the street as I walked from the parking garage.

Darlene R.

Yelp
If I were to rate the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room, there would be 5 stars. But if I rated the bed PILLOWS, the room would get a #1. Never have I asked a higher class hotel, like the Westin, for "soft" pillows and be told the hotel only had foam pillows, and furthermore "the hotel got rid of all their feather (soft) pillows". Consequentially I had one of my worst nights at a hotel, sleeping on a hard foam block. IF I were to return to this hotel, I'd bring my own pillow, AKA the "Motel 6 Plan". There were several other small concerns: the drapes' cord was extremely hard to pull open and closed, and the ADA shower hose could use a water cutoff switch for use during the shower.

Yelp
This property has become a favorite in DTLA. Check-in and check-out was smooth with only a slight wait on both ends. Staff were all pleasant throughout my stay. The had to shut off the water one night from 10 pm until 5 am, but they provided additional bottled water and restroom trailers with security. The inconvenience was handled nicely, IMO. The entire hotel is clean and in good working order. The room was spotless and included two complimentary bottles of water per day. (I had to call Housekeeping immediately as the body wash was empty and they are mounted on the shower stall wall, but not a big deal.) Two pleasant surprises: 1) The elevators seem to always come quick; and 2) There is a cafe that serves Starbucks products (but not a Starbucks) 24/7! Don't forget to seek out Bonaventure Brewing on the 4th floor, as well! I did not valet a car, but the rideshare area is convenient and easily accessible on the South Flower Street side of the lobby floor.

Yelp
Westin Bonaventure is centrally located to a lot, within walking distance to LA Live & Fig at 7th. The hotel was built in the late 70's and designed by Architect John C Portman who was known for Neo-futurism. I loved the design of this hotel. He designed the Hyatt, Marriott, and Westin at the Peachtree Center in ATL. The designs are very similar. The only have valet parking for $49, or there's a parking structure right across the street for $30 for 24 hours (no in/outs). The Westin is now part of Marriott Bonvoy's program. We paid 37k points, with an upgraded deluxe room on the 28th floor. Our room was great, with a super comfy bed and tons of towels. There was also water, a refrigerator, and a seating area. The room was very clean. Also came with breakfast at their buffet, Lakeview Bistro. Breakfast was great and gave us to-go cups for our coffee. There are a couple restaurants owned by Westin, and there's a floor with private businesses which include a liquor store, brewery, Enterprise, FedEx, and casual places to eat. The Starbucks Cafe is open 24- hours. The revolving restaurant on the top floor is currently closed. My partner said this was his favorite hotel he ever stayed at. He was awestruck by the design and all the cool things in there.

Yelp
The beautiful mall-like area had numerous water features that gave it a serene ambiance. There are restaurants (though I would not recommend the breakfast buffet unless you are really, really hungry -- or want used to such pricey fare) and gift shops to serve guests' needs. The reception/registration desk was well staffed with friendly and efficient people. The room was so nice! It was well decorated and clean -- even the floor to ceiling windows were clean inside and out so our view of the area from the 27th floor was clear. The beds were more comfortable than any we have encountered on our vacation across the West. The only thing I could say was that the hallway to our room was dim and somewhat institutional looking.

Yelp
Updated review: Love the prime location of this hotel. It looks very nice inside. It's definitely a vibe. But this last stay, years later after my first stay, I felt the walls were very paper thin. I could hear every little sound of the rooms next door. I heard housekeeping cleaning in the morning and the toilets flushing were very loud. It had me up early in the morning when I wasn't ready to wake up yet. Beds were very comfy though once I laid my head down at night I knocked out.

Yelp
The Westin Bonaventure is one of my go-to spots to stay in Los Angeles. The hotel is beautiful, the location is reasonably convenient, and the breakfast buffet is really on another level. My most recent visit left a somewhat bad taste in my mouth. First major sin, the plumbing was functional but needed some work. The showerhead had very low water pressure because of an issue with the diverter pipe and shower control. There is absolutely zero chance the cleaning crew did not notice this. It is pure laziness that it wasn't reported to maintenance and then fixed. Service is very bad for the breakfast buffet if you have a voucher. See, with a voucher, the tip is included. The vehement anti-tipping crowd needs to dine at the Westin to see just how bad service will get if the server doesn't need to work for their tip. Two mornings, my server took my drink order, dropped off my drink, and he never returned. I had to steal a hot sauce bottle from a different table. I downed the delicious orange juice quickly the first morning and couldn't get a refill. Service isn't just bad in general. The same server who ignored me sure as heck did cartwheels for the table that didn't have a voucher and still had to manually tip. You know, I wouldn't even call this European service. I dined in Europe, where there is no tipping, and I still got significantly better service. It's just delightfully ironic that the voucher users get terrible service, since it's mostly Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador level members who get those vouchers. Shouldn't we at least get an equal level of service?

Yelp
So many issues with this hotel. When checking in, the so called "valet" service which is non existent, you have to pay to park your own car. The lobby is nice but once up the elevators get ready for the disturbing rooms. The first room I had was not cleaned, hair balls on the floor, tray in mini fridge filled with liquid substance of sorts, shower pooled with water, strange stains on the bed. They moved our room , the next room WOW if it couldn't get any worse... when checking out the room we came across a surprise in the sink. TEETH. HUMAN TEETH. Sitting in the sink. WHAT. We left the room immediately & got transferred to a third room in which smelled like mold and stains on the sheets and hair all over. The 4th time they tried to give us another room and the manager offered to walk us up to our room. We left. Such a disappointment. For a hotel with the name Westin on it... terrible. Will never go back and would never recommend to anyone.

Yelp
It was just okay... - the rooms and hallways smelled like a full vacuum had been used and kicked up dirt and dust everywhere, if you know that smell. - the vending machine on floor 24 didn't work. So instead of paying 2$ for a drink, Your options are to pay 10$ at the mini bar in the room or go all the way back down to the bar and pay 5$ for the exact same bottle. Seems like it might not work on purpose. We did also find out through this ordeal they were supposed to give us each a bottle of water at check in. - employees woke us up at 8am because they were outside the room with their walkie talkies blaring. - 50$ to park. I recommend parking across the street from the main entrance. It's only 30$. I only give three stars because the price was pretty good...

Yelp
This review is based on my 1 day conference on the second and third floor. The ballrooms were well set up for my all day conference. Coffee and tea stations were set up throughout the day. Breakfast was provided, and it was the best meal of the day. They served vegan breakfast burritos, sausage muffins, blueberries muffins, banana nuts muffins, and fruits. I did not like the vegan breakfast burritos because it has a lot of potatoes. The breads of the sausage muffins were very rough and "hard." Lunch was not impressive. Chicken breast was tasteless and dry. Bread had a weird after taste. Dessert was acceptable. I expected that food would be great as this is a nice hotel. However, it did not meet my expectations. It is important to note that servers were very friendly and nice.

Yelp
This is my most FAVORITE hotel in DTLA. I've gone here lots of time to ride the glass elevators and to have cocktails at the 360 degree rotating bar on the 34th floor! To say this is spectacular is an understatement. They serve decadent signature cocktails and appetizers. This place is on the pricey side but worth the visit. The hotel lives up to their reputation IMHO. Glass everywhere and just striking vantage points in and around the property. Very walkable to EVERYTHING cool in DTLA. Parking and Valet parking are the same price ($49). Small shops to peruse and they have a restaurant near the top floors called L.A. PRIME, but the also offer quick room service ($5 fee for service on top of the price of the food/drink) it's all kind of pricey, but again I see it as par for the course. Complimentary (2) bottled waters are provided along with Starbucks coffee pods and Tazo tea bags (sugar, creamers & sugar substitute provided, too). You can call Express Service and ask for a couple more complimentary items or if you purchase the bottled water bi room service it's like $8. Zoinks!!! Free Wi-Fi though. Overall, HIGHLY recommend this place. Look forward to spending more time here in the future. This was a special treat and it met all of my expectations.

Yelp
A Marriott Bonvoy property, the Bonaventure provided great accommodations for the couple of nights during ATD's OrgDev 2022 conference. During our stay, there was actually another big conference going on so the hotel was busy from check-in until the time we checked out. At any rate, was still able to secure a room with a great view of the city. The room was well kept and as a Marriott Bonvoy establishment, I expected nothing less. The bathroom was clean and definitely more than enough towels for your stay. As if you needed a little help sleeping after a long day of networking sessions, the hotel provides a small aromatherapy balm infused with lavender and chamomile to help ease tension and soothe your senses. I must say, either I was too tired from the day, but the oil must've helped because I had a restful couple of nights here. Most of our meeting sessions were held in the Catalina ballroom. With less than 200 attendees, this room was more than enough to accommodate all of us for our general sessions. The conference provided catered breakfast and lunch buffets as well a couple of happy hour wine and meets. On my last night, I decided to order room service. The desk said it will take about 45 minutes due to a heavy influx of orders. I had the fried calamari, chicken dumpling soup and creme brûlée cheesecake. The food came as promised within the time frame allotted. Pleasantly surprised that the calamari was still very crispy and the soup was still piping hot. All of the food were brought up in to-go containers. Overall, the hotel was great. The staff was friendly and the service we received was excellent.

Yelp
Attended a conference here. Hotel needs some updating. It was clean and staff were friendly but there were parts that just seemed outdated. There are so many sections to the hotel that it is easy to get lost, or confused with where you're going. Need better or more signage for navigation (the touch screen info stations didn't work). The 4th floor with shops and restaurants was pretty vacant. A lot were probably closed due to the pandemic. Right in the heart of downtown but we were told by several locals to not walk around because of the increase in the homeless population, and some are aggressive. That was definitely disappointing! We had to Uber everywhere, even if it was a 10-20 minute walk! One nice thing about the hotel, it has some history of being in several movies. There's signs around the hotel about which movies (one is pictured).

Yelp
My family and friends spent a week in this hotel for Christmas. Service is a failure on this hotel. They only offer valet parking. If you have alot of luggages, dont even bother to look for a cart coz hotel wont provide it in the valet area. You have a haul your luggages to the lobby first before you can request for cart. On our 3rd day, I only asked to get our room cleaned once but never happened. Imagine only asking once for a clean up on your room on a week stay and still didnt happen? Horrible! It seems like workers are not happy working at this place. Some of them even gave attitudes to us. Management needs to do something about this. This is not a Westin standard. Rooms are dusty too. Nobody is wants to clean up or maybe not enough staff working.

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Hotel check in was pretty simple and the staff were nice. The hotel seems like it's more for business stays, but it's kid and pet friendly. I love that they actually have an area for pets, right next to the pool. The restaurant on the lobby floor accommodated pets well and allowed our family to stay at the back next to the wall. Breakfast buffet was great. The food was well made and plenty of options. For the room - the walls are fairly thin. We could hear our neighbors screaming at each other. =/ The app room key doesn't always work, so I suggest keeping a physical key with you at all times. Service and the housekeepers offered lovely service and made sure we had enough water. Parking is pretty pricey. I think $50... Gym - Loved the gym. They have Peloton bikes for those that use Peloton. Plenty of equipment. They offer cold towels, water, regular dry clean towels, spray to wipe and clean down the equipment after use. Pool - Goes up to about 7 feet I think. Can't quite remember. Fairly small, but offers towels, seats, etc. There is no jacuzzi. I feel like they needed more umbrellas though, especially since it's on the roof and can get pretty hot and bright. Pets - They have a huge grass area next to the pool where you can take your pets around. They offer bags for cleaning up after them. Location - Love the location cause you're pretty close to a lot of things and can walk to downtown LA pretty easily. Random, but they have different businesses in the hotel, but most never seemed to be open. At least while we were there. There's a dental, a Christian Science Reading Room.... Did not like the setup of the floors and how to get around. We always got lost and I hated the feeling of always walking in a circle. Certain floors, the elevator didn't stop at. So if you want to go to the pool/pet area, you have to stop at a floor above or below, then take the stairs to the correct floor.

Yelp
Never eat here. Never. In late August, more than 30 people departed a three-day-event at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles sick with Shigella, a bacterium that can spread through infected food. At least four guests ended up in the hospital, including one woman who said she was told by a doctor that her kidneys were shutting down. And they have the audacity to charge high prices.

Gabriela J.

Yelp
The hotel was okay! The rooms feel old and a but run down. I know most hotels aren't exactly clean to a T but, for a Westin, I did expect a little more. I did appreciate housekeeping and the good amount of towels in the restroom but thankfully I had shower shoes but it wouldn't have felt right without them! The bar/restaurant in the lobby area is Okay, the servers weren't very attentive. The drinks were not that great and the food was very much hotel food. The price point is t bad for what you get but again, being the Westin I did expect a little more. A weird compliment to the hotel, it smells amazing upon entering! Lol And the valet staff downstairs is great!! Let me mention I was here for a work trip and not leisure so with that said I give it 4 stars!
