The Wheelhouse Hotel

Nobody works here, in order to get your key or even into the lobby, you have to spend an hour on your phone, standing outside in the cold with your bags, filling out forms, texting a service number who is slow to respond. And there is a surprise charge for “amenity fees” that totaled over $80 otherwise they won’t give you the key card. I felt like I got scammed/stolen from. Room itself was clean but felt like a cheap air bnb. No refridgerator. Would never stay here again. The only positive I have to say is it’s in a nice location.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. While it is in a great location, the customer service ruins the appeal. Our key card stopped working the second day of our stay. We went to the front desk to fix the issue to find no one working there. No one had been working for hours and it was 1 pm. We couldn’t find anyone in the building to help us. We called the number given to us on the front desk and neither of them answered our calls. We had to end our trip early because we had been locked out of our room for so long and were worried with the new key card we finally received that we would be locked out again. There’s also many hidden fees that we received upon staying which are not included in the listing so be prepared to pay twice as much as what you thought you were paying.

Won't see me here again. I booked through a work vendor so I must have missed the hour long check-in process instructions email which consists of sending a picture of your face and your ID, etc. to a phone number listed on the door. Once accepted, you get a code so you can go back outside and unlock a lockbox that has the keys to the main door and your room. BUT, the best part is that it takes at least 10 tries before they accept it. The second best part is that it's all through text, to a person (appears automated at first, but then...), who is not very responsive and seems overwhelmed in responding to texts, so you might get a snide remark if you get a little heated and question this process. Luckily, the couple who was also struggling to 'check in' let me inside to do this whole thing inside, otherwise I'd be standing in the rain the entire 30+ minutes it took. Also, there's no staff on site and clearly, anyone standing around the front door can get in as I did. Lastly, the fees. The guest amenity fee tops out at $49.99 + tax (read the website, it's a bunch of fluff that other hotels consider standard). There is a Reservation Fee, and a Reservation Processing Recovery fee. My $125 room ended up costing $212.

A great smaller hotel. Steps away from Wrigley Field and all that comes with it. The aesthetics are on point! No one tells you about the roof top area which is absolutely breathtaking! We read bad reviews about not being able to get back into the hotel but we tried our cards before we left and had no problem later that night even after a few beers. 😝 Only con is there is no parking unless you pay a hefty price for event parking or a garage or luckily find street parking. We will most definitely stay again!

There is no staff in the entire building. The only way to reach client services is by calling a number that more often than not doesn’t get answered. The only way to get ice is from the bar next door. If you book through a 3rd party website, there’s a 50/50 shot you’ll actually receive instructions on how to check in. If you didn’t, you have to call the client service number and hope that someone actually answers. Our key card stopped working the morning of check out way before check out time and we had to call the client service number 8 times before someone picked up and they sent a housekeeper to open our door for us.

The room was beautiful. Clean lines perfectly chosen accents and furnishings. However, easy to hear the people above you and in the hallway. The shower was very cool, but the flooring was leveled that the shower was higher than the bathroom floor. So some water escaped the shower and got my suitcase/bag all wet since it was under the sink. I noticed the floor levels the night before but stupidly didn't plan for it when I showered the next more. Alas... Was surprised there wasn't free coffee, but I stopped by a local shop instead. Would recommend. It was so cool looking inside. Stood in the doorway and admired a few minutes when we got in.

We stayed there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. I tried to contact them and book another room for a trip this summer, but the phone number was disconnected, the website wouldn’t load on mobile, and the only way to contact was through a form. Sad to see that in the name of business efficiency, a place like this completely dismissed the idea of the customer experience. Booking somewhere customers are still valued.

My son moved 2 blocks from this hotel so I decided to try it out. My trip was delayed a day because of weather, and the hotel was accommodating with the change in dates of arrival and departure. Check in was super fast and staff was friendly. The room was clean, the bed amazingly comfortable, and hotel quiet. I’ve found my go-to hotel when visiting my son. Oh, and there’s a great pizza place two doors down! Bonus.

I was looking for a last minute hotel, so I hopped on Expedia and found Wheelhouse in my area. I was impressed with the accuracy of the pictures, as businesses will often fluff their pictures to imply larger spaces or better quality infrastructure. This was not the case with Wheelhouse...everything was clean and modern. The only slightly weird thing was that the lobby was completely empty when I arrived, including the adjoining restaurant, but it was admittedly during the middle of the day and I don't think the restaurant/bar was open. There was a little sign on the desk that said to text the concierge to come back. Everyone who was behind the desk that day was very friendly. My room itself was very nice for the price. The space was more than adequate and I felt comfortable. The only reason why I'm taking off a star is because the bathroom door was broken. You could tell that it was repaired before, but the tracks weren't set level on repair. Since it is a sliding barn door, it would constantly slide open when you would try to close it. Not a big deal because I was by myself, but it could have been a little problematic if I had my partner there with me. I wasn't aware that this was a thing, but the doors can be operated via your phone. If you download an app, it links your room key with any phone that is able to make wireless transactions. This was very helpful, as I often forgot the room key. Checkout is at 11, but you can get a courtesy extension into 12. Any time after that is an additional $50 per hour. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Wheelhouse and I will definitely be coming back again.

This place is a total scam. They lied about the pricing and fees. Their customer support is NONEXISTENT. The daily resort fee basically gets you nothing, a handful of sodas and waters, which we didn't even get one of the two days staying there. The rooms are nice, they look as advertised, and the location is fantastic if you're going to Wrigley, but be prepared to be treated like garbage, get charged extras for eating and sleeping, and may the fates smile down upon you should you happen to need any customer service. No one works at the hotel. No one picks up the phone when you call them. They will overcharge you and provide a receipt that doesn't match the charge. They seem to be quite active at replying to negative reviews on every platform, that's the most customer service you'll see your entire trip. The amount of money they overcharged me and lied about it is laughably small, but for their horrible customer service, they can now delight in that amount buying this negative review and similar negative reviews on every site I can possibly find. You'll get better service at a Motel 6.

I ALWAYS book my hotels through Booking.com and NEVER had a problem until this trip. My total was $165.35 for one night, and when I checked out somehow it magically became $185.12. They added an additional amount when I checked out! I contacted both booking.com AND the hotel management but nothing was resolved. I ended up filing a complaint with my bank. Beware of overcharging!!!! I was checked in before I even got to the hotel and started getting text about what room I was in and if I wanted drinks delivered. When I finally arrived, no one was at the desk to let me in and I had walked right past the two women who worked there while I was freezing, waiting to hear back from a text I had to send. Stupid way to check people in. So stupid. The lobby area is nice. I enjoyed the coffee. The room was ok, but smaller than I thought and the view was a brick wall and a balcony of the apartment across the way - so close the curtain. Sofa bed but no extra linen/pillows from what I saw for use. The elevator is very slow so if you stay on the second floor just walk up.

Booked a hot for fall out boy at Wrigley on June 21 back in 2022. Low an behold, on the day of the show I arrived at check in and was told my reservation had been cancelled. Yep. Cancelled. I was offered to rebook at "the going rate". Since I was stuck needing a Hotel room I was chagrined to see the going rate was more than double my original booking. The woman running the front desk seemed used to this kind of thing but was generally unhelpful. She couldn't even book the room for me. I didn't raise a fuss because I was there to have a good time but this place does not deserve to exist. I'll be filing every report there is to make sure it's painfully obvious this company is a sham and is committing crimes. I should also mention every person that came into the lobby had a unique issue with booking. Goodbye wheelhouse, I hope you take your owners with you. Oh yeah, no one was at the desk during check out the next morning so I saw their phone had 100+ missed calls. So yeah, do not stay here even though the amenities were fine. This place sucks everything you could imagine might be worth sucking.

Note: This hotel was formerly called the wheel house hotel Checkin: Checkin was pretty much a disaster. I've never been to a hotel where no one works at the front desk or where no one answers the phone. We were trying to just store our bags at the front desk / if possible see if our room was ready earlier, but the front door was locked and no one answered the door or the phone. Instructions on the door said to call or text with questions. After about half hour / 45 minutes, our group finally gave up and just put our luggage back in our car in a near by parking garage. Finally after going to the Cubs game and grabbing a drink across the street we discovered the lock boxes were to the right of the restaurant next to the front door (along the white fence) with the room key in the lockbox. So finally after much frustration we were able to get in the hotel. Inside the hotel the lobby was nicely decorated. The lobby phone indicated there were over 100 missed calls. Once we got to the room, the rooms / hallways were very nice and clean. The couch and bed were comfortable and I liked the decor of the room. Being on the second floor we could hear some music from the restaurant/ bar below, so I just used my white noise machine so it would not keep us up. Overall this place has potential. The location is great, the rooms were nice. Price was great. Just the frustration about the check in process was aggravating. Even if someone would just answer the phone or put more detailed signs up at the front door. It would have been a lot less aggravating.

DON'T stay here, the other reviews are accurate. Also beware on top of not being able to get in hotel or your room half of the time, no staff in hotel, and a snarky 'manager' that will only talk on phone, there is a $28/day amenities fee they don't disclose until check in. And there are literally no amenities. If you need towels it's on you to go find them. Stay anywhere else!

Horrible place to stay! Location is great, close to Wrigley field and several bars and restaurants.. Currently called the "Chicago Hotel Collection " No Staff on property, no one answers the phone from the number provided, we're still waiting on a phone call back from last night and it's the next morning. Called same number again and no answer. Charged $142.00 for "Resort Fees", what am I paying for??? No staff, no parking, no coffee, no ice, no water.. There's a cleaning crew here that will bring you towels, and let you in when you're key or phone access doesn't work, that's if they're on the bottom floor in the lobby when you get stuck because no one answers the phone... King room is clean, view of Clark street awesome. Everything else is subpar!! Will not stay here or recommend this hotel.

I booked a double queen room, but was contacted the day of my reservation and told that my room was no longer available, but I would be upgraded to a queen suite. Upon arriving at the hotel around 6pm, there wasn't any staff on premises, so entry was a bit of a cluster, but we figured it out. Our room "upgrade" was 100% a downgrade. The room was smaller, the bathroom so incredibly tiny, but most importantly it was FREEZING! The only heating component was a small wall heater, which no one had thought to turn on prior to our arrival. We couldn't figure out how to use the heater and since there isn't staff on premises, we didn't have anyone to ask for help. Long story short, we couldn't stay in a frigid room, so we left. I have a 10 week old baby, so heat sort of matters. I called the hotel group to let them know what had happened and was told that, despite the fact that the room was uninhabitable, they wouldn't refund my room fee. And the kicker (!!!) they overcharged me for the room. I have a call in to them, but haven't heard a word back. Long story short, I would not recommend staying here. If I could give them zero stars, please know that I would.

DO NOT STAY HERE. All of the reviews about the terrible management and check in process are true. No one works the front desk, the rooms are bare bones (no fridge, no coffee maker, no pen and paper) and there is zero customer service. The "app" does not work, and we went through 3 keys before we finally had one that worked that my husband and I had to share. I had my 10 month old with me and had the joy of having a room that looked right into a brick wall. My husband also got stuck in the stairwell because his key did not work to get out, not sure if thats even legal. It seems like the 'Chicago hotel collection' bought out this boutique hotel, manage it remotely and do an absolutely horrible job. All around awful experience.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. When booking a signature suite room, there is nothing on the website that describes the room. Check in was a joke. We get to the room and it's 2 bunk beds. I go back to the front desk and ask for a queen bed. She said to book another room. So we did. After that she tells us she doesn't have another room. Now we start asking for a refund on both rooms and we'll stay somewhere else. We were told a refund will come in 3-5 days. Then she tells us she can't refund us. At this point I ask for the manager and she said no. Couple min later she calls her manager and the manager says they have a queen room. I asked for a refund confirmation on the first room and they said they would send it. 4 hours later I go to the front desk and she's watching a movie on her laptop and said she's busy. I still don't have a refund confirmation. The worst customer service here. Don't stay!

If I could give this hotel rating a 0, I would. First, I get here and the toilet is broken. They sent a very nice maintenance man who fixed it but it broke again and at that point, no maintenance was on staff & they could not accommodate me in another room so I had to leave this hotel at 3:30 am. The next day I noticed I had been charged twice for my room. Once for $204.82 which was correct, and another $254.82 which the person on the phone claimed would fall off. The person on the phone was incredibly disrespectful. It did not fall off and instead processed both all the way through. Now no one is answering the phone or email. The people who work here are incredibly disrespectful. The rooms have amenities that don't even work. They won't accommodate you with another room. They won't refund you if you are forced to leave because of their lack of proper amenities and help. They will overcharge you and lie and then refuse to refund you BEWARE!

This place is extremely chaotic. Check-in texted instructions make 0 sense and were literally wrong. The only way we knew where to get our key was with the help of a guest. They charged the wrong card twice. Never responded to my text messages after following up 3 times. Overall terrible experience. Do not book here.

Don't ever book a stay at this dump! The customer service leaves more than a lot to be desired! I paid for my room in full and NO ONE was available to check me in! I've been nice, patient,accommodating and Margarita was the most disgustingly rude manager ever. She tried to tell me someone was there to check me in and I was like ummm No No! I was in the hotel for over an hour calling every number available to check in. Went to the third floor and a gentleman who was in his room with the door opened because guess what NO Effin' air conditioning as working. Needless to say I had to find other accommodations and I'm still fighting with them to get a refund.

I booked online through their website. The advertised rate did not include a $30/night "amenity" fee that was required on check-in. The advertised cost was $190 before taxes and fees and $320 after. Completely dishonest pricing meant to take advantage of travelers instead of accomodating them as a valued guest.

This was a terrible. There is no way to get into the hotel to check in and when you call nobody answers. The "app" and keys would suddenly stop working -- frustrating experience - don't stay here

If you have any tech aptitude or patience, ignore all the negative posts about the digital keys etc. We had no issues with access although our physical keys didn't work the best. If you can run an app, you will be fine. We were looking for a hotel in Wrigleyville for convenience of enjoying the immediate attractions in the area. We stayed in the Double Queen and loved it. Great decor, ambiance and comfort. Bathroom is awesome and beds comfy. A nice seating area overlooks all the action of the street below...and a lot of action there is! If you don't like street noise, you might not want to stay here. Just know access is different but if you can text, you'll find it very easy. Parking is difficult so plan ahead. Overall, loved it!

Worst experience ever. DO NOT BOOK. Club downstairs played overly loud music past curfew. Staff does not answer phone, no on-site staff. Room service is spotty. Hardly qualifies as a hotel. Negative one (-1) star given.

This place is an absolute scam. If you don't fill out the "preform" they will just overbook you and not allow you access. There is no one that actually works here, and they just try to book you in an alternative hotel 20 minutes away. There is an entire lobby of people here that has not been able to access their rooms, despite a 3 month booking in advance. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I WILL REPEAT THIS, DO NOT BOOK HERE. This is the shadiest location I have to ever been to, and it will not be worth the stay.

The worst experience ever. Chicago has many excellent lodging options, I wouldn't ever suggest or stay at this amateur hour "hotel". I'm not sure if anyone has experienced this, but it's terrible when book a room and the hotel staff refuses to let you in, give you any information or reason and just hangs up on you repeatedly like I don't exist. Now, this was March 19th, and this is a hotel the was accepting reservations, that I made earlier the same day. I booked a room at "the wheelhouse hotel" and when I arrived there was no one there and the door was locked...there was a sign on the registration desk that said "we will be back shortly" when I buzzed the door someone would say "Wheelhouse hotel"...I would request to be let in so I could check in and they would hang up, I did this 3 times as well as call the number listed, same thing, a guy would answer, and then hang up even after pleading with him to explain what was going on and there was no one there. The person answering the phone would not say anything other that Wheelhouse Hotel...he would listen and then not say anything and hang up, why would the idiot even answer the phone. The whole thing made no sense what so ever. Again, there are amazing hotels here that know what hospitality and customer service means...The would suggest eliminating this Unreal Surreal Ordeal House from your plans. All they had to do was say, find another hotel. And it has been a week later and I have not had one response from management, that is because they do not care...it's not because they are busy. They do not care

This place is AWFUL DO NOT STAY HERE. CREDIT CARD FRAUD + No front desk staff. Broken front door. Guest propped front door open for each other so we wouldn't get locked out. They hit you with hidden fees including a 7% credit card fee. It's the only way they let you pay. They also charged $20.80 for no reason and won't refund that either. When I was there texting someone somewhere about the front door not working they had a lot of attitude like it was my fault. Reading reviews it happens all the time and was happening to other people staying there as they were propping the door open for each other. This is the reply to being over charged $58.02 ($20.80 they list as an over charge) and the text exchange about the front door. They blame "the person who checked me in for not giving me a physical key" again there is no front desk staff. Check in was online and had to download an app a the key.

Awful. Just avoid. Currently called the "Chicago Hotel Collection" but still registered as "The Wheelhouse Hotel" with the City of Chicago Business Licensure, this place has terrible management. They advertise a "streamlined contactless check-in" process but have no accountability to making sure that actually occurs, instead blaming everything other than themselves. They also make sure their rates are non-refundable so that when they screw up, they can blame you. Don't book on the same day because you won't receive the check in instructions which you NEED to be able to get into the hotel. Come with a very charged phone and a heavy coat in winter, because unless a guest breaks protocol out of pity because they have undoubtedly experienced the same thing with this awful management (check the other reviews) and let's you in, you will be trying to navigate this "streamlined contactless check-in" process outside in Chicago winter. And once you try to get a refund, get ready to be lied to and insulted, told you are the only person that has ever experienced issues with check-in (again, check the reviews), and told it's your fault as you apparently just don't understand how contactless check-in works and that again, it's your fault that your phone died after an hour of trying to check-in. Just avoid. Hotel looks good on paper but the inner workings are ugly disappointments. Find one of the many Airbnbs in the city instead that have actually been able to create contactless check-in--it's not that hard...

Other recent reviews are accurate.....not good, especially for the cost of a room. My husband and I stayed here when it was still The Wheelhouse and it was a very different experience this time. Entered the code for our "lock box" outside.....no key card inside. Called the number posted; no answer. Sent a text and housekeeping brought us our key card. No refrig in the room. One microwave for the whole building down in the lobby (ice and ice buckets down there too?). No staff at front desk, just a number to call if there is an issue. Four drinks in the amenities package consisted of 2 mini bottles of wine, one beer, and one seltzer.....delivered after we had already left for the Cubs game. (you do not get to select what you want as your four drinks, and they do not come in a timely manner). As I write this, I am sitting in our room and the Direct TV is out. Only positive thing I can say is that the bed is comfortable. We will not be staying here again and you shouldn't either.

Loved staying here. The hotel is pretty close to everything. There are restaurants and bars all along the same block. There's even a dispensary a few store fronts away. Due to Covid the hotel has adopted an app-key system which makes things more convenient. It gave me trouble after the first day but it wasn't the hotel's fault. The app support team fixed the issue. The staff is super friendly and helpful and there was someone always there. The concierge was online/text. I consider myself super low maintenance, but they checked with me everyday to see if I needed anything. Beautiful decor, huge windows. Three complimentary drinks everyday. And again the staff is super friendly. Definitely looking forward to booking this place again.

Reasonably priced hotel with a ton of baseball themed style in a great location next to Wrigley Field. Only downside is there's no parking so you gotta use a garage next door that costs $45 and has a confusing layout.

Thanks Wheelhouse for the $ 500 charge and not allowing me to cancel my reservation. I can't control the airlines canceling my flight from the East Coast. Given it was a Cubs game day you could have easily booked that room even at the inflated rates you charge on game days. Thanks you are real pros.

This is a good option in Wrigleyville. No frills (the restaurant was closed while we were there) but at the same time there was really nothing lacking. The room was very clean, pretty good sized, and quiet. We chose the Wheelhouse because it was priced right. We'd stay again.

Great location in Wrigleyville within walking distance of many, many bars, restaurants and THE CUBBIES! Room was very clean, bed was comfortable and although we had a room facing Clark St., we didn't hear anything from the street noise. The staff was very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again!

Cool new place? Yep. But family friendly? Oh yes. Family of 4 with two teens needed to make quick run to the area for one of the kiddos activities. We didn't get into town until 11 pm, and what a welcome site this place was. Neighborhood is alive around us with lights, music, and people which is fun, but now that we're tucked into our room there is no noise. The gentlemen that checked us in were so nice, and the process was fast and we were on our way. We booked a room w a queen and two bunk beds and it is perfect. Did I say perfect? Scratch that. You and your family should never stay here. Why? Because if you come here, you're going to tell all of your friends and so on and so forth and then it's going to be continually booked when I say to the fam, "Hey, let's go stay at that cool place by Wrigley Field that was so easy to book!". Sigh. Ok, fine, just between you and I: the bunk beds are awesome. Genius, really. The heads of the beds are tucked behind a little half wall so the kids feel like they have a little space to themselves. No brother-sister "we're not sleeping in the same bed" drama. As mentioned, it is after 11 pm and I am deliriously tired, but I did take note of some of the details like robes and cool hardware/fixtures. Beds are clean and cozy. For a Chicago stay, I think we found our Wheelhouse.

This hotel was so quirky and fun! The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and decorated aesthetically. The location is great too, there's a lot of food places and fun sports shops nearby. Loved this place!

This place is AWESOME! We had the BEST time! Rooms were clean and very nicely decorated and the staff was over and above friendly! I cannot say enough good things about The Wheelhouse Hotel. It was so close to Wrigley Field and in the most fun neighborhood. We hope to make this a yearly trip and we won't stay anywhere but The Wheelhouse!

I had the pleasure of visiting Chicago in January along with four of my best friends. The trip was a Christmas gift from our wives who chose Chicago for its central location as well as our affinity for the sports scene. We were lucky enough to be in town in the days following another Winter Classic featuring the Blackhawks and for the Bears home wild card game as we explored The Wheelhouse Hotel in anticipation of the upcoming baseball season. The hotel is conveniently located close to Wrigley Field, the CTA, and numerous restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is nicely decorated with baseball décor and with a flair for the nostalgic. The bunk rooms were small with just enough room for sleeping and getting ready. The sliding door to the deck outside one of our rooms would not lock despite reporting the disabled latch to hotel staff on multiple occasions. The security risk was mitigated by the fact that the room was on the second floor, but the door could still be accessed by anyone from either of the adjacent decks. We did not eat at the hotel and I cannot attest to the food. We did stop for drinks and the bar staff was friendly and fun. My disappointment in The Wheelhouse Hotel is with the management, their questionable integrity, and their disregard for customer service. My wife booked two rooms for three nights and paid $919 in advance. My wife was unaware that an error went unresolved at the time of booking when she adjusted the reservation from one room to two rooms. As a result of the error, I was charged $481 for a third room upon check out. The erroneous charge was explained to hotel staff in an effort to reverse the error through traditional customer service channels, but management decided to proceed with using my signature on file for incidentals to charge me for a reservation I did not make and lodging that was not provided. The misleading presentation of the charge by the hotel cofounder during the dispute process is very concerning. I am left feeling like an unwelcome guest whose patronage is valued less than the opportunity for exploitation. Ultimately, the principle matters more than the money. My wife says she is upset that her Christmas gift cost me $481 and she is afraid that the trip was ruined. I have assured her that the trip was a fantastic success and that we are still eagerly anticipating our return to Chicago during the upcoming baseball season. At least we learned where not to stay. Fantastic boutique hotel close to Boystown. Very nice hotel. Exceeded my expectations.

This hotel is the worst option around Wrigley, if you plan to stay think twice as it is 100% remote with too many issues to name. Beyond the long wait at the front door for a (guest) to come to your rescue and let you in, so you might have the slight chance to check-in. To the constant loops that you'll find yourself in when dealing with any "potential" and I say that, as who actually knows if they work there, "in-person maintenance." And on top of all this the hospitality and guest services experienced at this place could be less helpful to the point that the brick walls around are solving more than the "answers after 6 calls" guest service line provided. If the worst guest service company you could imagine opened a hotel this would be their first attempt. Never recommending to anyone looking for a stress free, safe and polite experience in the Chicago area. Without a doubt the worst stay I or anyone I've heard has had, if I could give it a negative based on this experience... I would in a heart beat! The Chicago Hotel Collection needs to do better and by a lot!

Lobby Atmosphere is pushy owner on conference call. When you walk in, there will be the owner sitting in the lobby, like your parents waiting for you to make curfew.

What a great hotel! Incredible concept, great energy and really cool vibe. The room was great, bathroom had excellent shower and toiletries and the staff was fantastic. Everything was very clean and immaculately maintained. Beds were really comfortable. Room was quiet even when Wrigleyville was hopping. Literally steps from Wrigley and an unparalleled game day experience to go from the hotel with its great baseball theme right onto Clark and be inside the park in a couple of minutes. The decor is like nothing I've ever seen. Really creative and fun, and the lobby feels like an extension of the rooms and the restaurant (great flatbreads btw) not a boring sterile lobby. Just an awesome spot. Will definitely stay here again.

This place was AWESOME. Fabulous twist on boring hotels. Super high tech. Top notch designer. Stayed here after being downtown in a chain hotel. It was like and day. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great accessibility to everything. Park in Addison and Clark garage next door, use Spothero to get overnight parking for $15 (no in-out allowed). Great food nearby, safe neighborhood, walk to Wrigley Stadium. I will definitely be back.

Recently, my mom came to visit Chicago for a couple of nights over Easter weekend. Due to the close vicinity to my apartment I thought this would be a great fit. The decor inside is trendy and appropriate for Wrigleyville (baseball themed). The room was clean, and they even provided us with little packs of Doublemint gum on our beds, which was a cute touch! It was nice that even though Wrigleyville was in full force, we were not able to hear a lot of the street noise. However, I have to deduct a star due to some of the front desk staff's attitude. The woman who checked us in was friendly but another staff member, Brendan I think, spoke to us like we were children when we asked about their rooftop (which is not open even though the website says the Rooftop at the Wheelhouse will be open Spring 2019). Another staff member seemed like his job was the last place he wanted to be. Long story short, beautiful space but customer service could use a bit of work.

the wheelhouse is without a doubt very cute, well decorated and i felt safe staying there! the staff was very nice (front desk and cleaning) so that was refreshing. my reason for 3 stars was that 1) our door key stopped working about an hour and a half before checkout. i think they recently switched to a new computer system because i noticed them having issues with it when we checked in. not a huge deal, but obviously bugs need to be fixed. 2) there's no fridge or microwave in the room, we had a double queen room that was a decent size and easily could've accommodated a fridge and microwave or even just a fridge. we weren't able to bring back leftovers from dinner, which was a huge bummer because the food was amazing! 3) the BIGGEST issue is with PARKING! I highly recommend staying somewhere else if you're driving into the city. we aren't from chicago so maybe the locals know better but it was incredibly difficult to find parking. i figured since it's a hotel, they would have somewhere for guests to park. before checking in, we decided on a parking garage like a block away. once inside wheelhouse, we asked about parking and the front desk informed us the parking garage was the only option. not a huge deal except once you pass 12 hrs in the garage, it's $45 per day!!! how likely is it to be staying in a hotel for less than 12 hrs??? the front desk told us that parking on the street would lead us to being towed after 9 pm. not sure of the accuracy of this but that aside, it's absolutely outrageous that we had to park a block or so away and pay that much! also, the walking entrance to the garage is all the way around the corner, not convenient when it's freezing rain outside
