Where to Order a Diwali Feast in Boston | Eater Boston

"I'm excited that talented baker Niketa Shroff at The Whisk is whipping up a gorgeous lineup of sweets for Diwali, including luxurious gulab jamun cheesecakes, kulfi tres leches cakes, and almond teacakes that showcase the flavors of the nutty Indian badam (almond) burfi in a soft, snackable teacake form; call Schroff at 734-355-9003 to place pre-orders by October 18." - Erika Adams

I enjoyed visiting The Whisk last night to try their Friday night dinner special and ordered the Spanish Pork Burger. Oh my was it yummy! My favorite aspect of it was the brioche roll - man was that ON POINT!! The perfectly crusted outer with the light, soft, fluffy inner was divine. I also tried the Old Fashioned (I’m just starting to try out whiskeys/bourbons, so first sip packed a punch for my personal palate, and as the cube melted and chilled the drink, I enjoyed even more); and then My Cherie Amour from the special seasonal cocktail menu (LOVED, will be back for it before the seasonal menu rotates!) For dessert, I ordered Brownie Cheesecake with Brownie Crumble. I mean, if it says cheesecake and has the word brownie in it twice, how could you go wrong? Amazing, and glad I didn’t have to share it 😂 The vibe is very warm, welcoming, and chill. Cozy atmosphere with great design features in the nostalgic basement space! Great music and conversations with patrons and staff. Especially if you’re a whiskey and bourbon fan, you’ll LOVE The Whisk! And if you’re not a whiskey/bourbon person, you’ll still love it, and chances are, The Whisk will convert you. (Living proof, lol)

The best place in town (honestly, the best place in the county) to meet friends for delicious whisky-based cocktails (including an excellent rotating seasonal selection). The food is even better than it was a few years ago and the people are too. I’ve never had a bad evening at The Whisk.

Joel and Tosh are absolutely beautiful people and Whisk exudes their openness and friendliness! We love the brunch on Saturdays! Nothing starts a morning off better than a Whisk Bloody Mary and an Old Fashioned! A true must go when in town!

If perfection had a flavor, it would taste like the horseradish deviled eggs at The Whisk. I say this with conviction, not hyperbole. It’s not just that they’re good. It’s that they’re exact. The kind of exactness that only comes from a rare and deliberate process driven by thoughtfulness, intelligence, and care. Think about it: horseradish is an unruly ingredient. Too much, and it punches you in the nose. Too little, and it’s just another bland passenger on your plate. But here, in these deviled eggs, the horseradish finds a balance that speaks of patience, of testing and re-testing, and of tasting and adjusting until the flavors align. That’s not an accident. That’s a reflection of someone who cares enough to make sure that your first bite isn’t just a bite, but a small revelation. It's a kind of care that's devilishly hard to find. We live in a world that's too rushed. Fast food, fast thoughts, fast lives. And yet, here at The Whisk, there’s a reminder that the best things—the meaningful things—take time. They take effort. They take love. That perfect amount of horseradish doesn’t just happen; it’s crafted. And when you taste it, you’re tasting not just a dish but a philosophy. A belief that details matter, that the little things are worth doing well. So the next time you visit The Whisk, order the horseradish deviled eggs. Take a moment to savor them. Appreciate not just the flavor, but what it represents. Because care like this is rare. And when we find it, we owe it to ourselves and to the people who create it to notice, honor it, and to say thank you.

Omg… one of the coolest places to hang. Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere. The owners Joel and Latoshia love to interact with the guests. They are super knowledgeable with the whiskey and cocktails. And the small menu is perfectly curated curated and expertly crafted. We always have a great time here and always end up meeting someone new!

Love the new location of The Whisk! Went for brunch and it was amazing. I had the Veggie Frittata and it was perfect and my wife had the French Toast. So full of flavor. Not only is the food always great , but the personal attention from Joel and Tosh just make the experience above anyplace else.

Yelp
I love a good road trip. The sense of adventure and discovery alongside people I enjoy is one of life's greatest pleasures. The Whisk has been on our road trip list for awhile, and we finally went with some friends. Greencastle has never been high on my priority list of places to visit, but I'd heard rumors about "The Whisk" being a great place to visit for whisky lovers like myself. And the rumors were true! Walking up to The Whisk...well, that doesn't happen. You have to walk down some stairs that are nondescript, giving the entrance a very old fashioned speakeasy vibe. I immediately fell in love. It feels like a secret club that I'm a part of! The decor is big city speakeasy vibe and lets you know immediately that regardless of shoe you are, you're welcome at the Whisk (see some of the pictures of the decor). We went on a Friday because they have a dinner menu only on Fridays and it changes every week. Tosh and her husband, Joel, are the co-owners and curators of all the food and cocktails. Although there are always small plates on the menu, the full menu complete with dessert was exactly what we wanted. The presentation and flavors of the dinner and drinks felt like being in Chicago or New York, not Greencastle! It was a delightful anachronistic experience. The blackened catfish and The Ghost whisky cocktail were some of the best things I've ingested in a long time. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The Whisk was very busy the night we went, but they did not disappoint! The food was amazing, super cozy atmosphere and the friendly service is 10/10!

Yelp
Amazing brunch spot in the heart of Greencastle! The inside is beautiful with a speakeasy vibe. If you love bourbon, their cocktails will wow you. I'm not a bourbon drinker, but they have other options like mimosas and mules for brunch. I ordered the BLT and it was the best I've had. The bacon had a sweet bourbon syrup glaze over it to really add to the sandwich. It came with a tossed salad with a delicious vinaigrette. Service was amazing & our waitress was so kind! Also, complimentary coffee!

Yelp
What a gem!!! We went twice in one weekend, taking a different set of friends each time. When we walked in the first thing was a woman behind the bar smiled and grated us like we were old friends. It felt like Cheers!!! It's just a really cool place, not huge but stone walls and metal ceilings. Old couches and small tables made an intimate setting. The food on Friday evening was all amazing. We ordered one of each of the 4 entrees offered. The Ceasar Chicken salad sandwich was really tasty and the French fries were crispy and delicious. I had a BBQ cauliflower that was great! There was a spicy pork noodle that was yummy. I'm kind of sorry I didn't get that. Finally, there was a Swiss steak that was yummy. We had a couple of appetizers that were so good. We had three desserts, also amazing. For brunch on Sunday, the bloody Mary's are robust and the garnishes include their fantastic bacon! The BLT was so good!!! Probably the best I've ever had from a restaurant. The French toast was also a real treat. Every Week the dinner menu changes. They are only open on Thursday and Friday evening and they do brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The service was just both attentive and laid back. It was a perfect end to a work week, just very chill. How lucky Greencastle is to have this place as an option for dinner and brunch. Give them a try, you won't regret this oneit! You guys are killing it!!!!

Yelp
Our new Christmas tradition! We always do a girl's night and Christmas gift exchange . Looking for something new we decided to try The Whisk. Food was awesome as well as the service, we felt welcomed and at home from the minute we walked in! Started with the house made pimento cheese don't skip on this one! We will make this our new Christmas but know we will be back way before that. Thank you for this little gem in Greencastle! Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year

Yelp
If you love bourbon and whiskey this is your place. I am not a whisky drinker, but my husband is, so we tried it out last night. The bourbon selection is outstanding, and they are always adding to it. The atmosphere is great, and it has a really cool vibe. The owners are musicians so they love to offer great live music events. You can tell they really love what they are doing, and care about their customer's experiences. They have a limited food menu selection, but everything appears to be made with care to detail. We will be going back soon to eat. If you are not a whiskey drinker the alcohol selection is limited, but they have a few options without whiskey including a few wines. Even with limited drink options for me it was a great experience with outstanding service.

Yelp
I don't have enough superlatives to properly describe this place. I did have the best Rye whiskey I've ever tasted - and I'm not exaggerating, it was phenomenal. The vibe of the whisk is just right, for me. We're I local, this would be a very regular hangout for me.
