The 14 Best Hotel Bars In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The Maybourne has a few spots to pull up for a cocktail, but for something a little dramatic, have a night at the Cigar and Whiskey Bar. This reservation-only bar is hidden on the second floor (you get escorted up a secret back staircase) with over 1,000 cigars in stock and a booklet of whiskies broken down by country. There’s a $100 per person minimum, but considering some premium two-ounce drams can go for up to $600, that won’t be a difficult number to hit. Alternatively, order something off the cocktail list—the honey and ginger-infused Penicillin is excellent." - brant cox

Where to Smoke a Cigar and Enjoy a Cocktail in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Probably LA’s most upscale cigar lounge and bar, this hidden cocktail bar inside the Maybourne hotel is a relaunch of the former Ten Pound. Fans of Ten Pound will see much of the same formula, except that the cigar selection is exponentially better. Curated by the team at local cigar lounge V Cut, the cigar options are amongst the best in town, though at eye-watering prices. The cocktail, food, and spirits menu are also top-tier and priced accordingly. Just be sure to make a reservation." - Matthew Kang

The Cigar and Whiskey Bar at The Maybourne - Review - Beverly Hills - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

Beverly Hills’s New Cigar and Whiskey Bar Is a Fancy After Dinner Spot - Eater LA

"The former Montage Hotel’s upscale Ten Pound bar in Beverly Hills was probably the best kept cocktail secret in Los Angeles before it was forced to close due to the pandemic. The high-end spot hidden above the hotel’s restaurant (which was Scarpetta, then Georgie, and is now the Terrace at Maybourne) was an ideal place for a quiet postprandial drink and cigar, and featured some of the city’s rarest booze. Now the space is back thanks to the hotel’s new owners, who have done a fantastic job of revamping the dim room under the new (somewhat milquetoast) name Cigar and Whiskey Bar which opened last month. The decor has a cleaner, more modern aesthetic, but retains its very exclusive feel with an outdoor mezzanine patio overlooking the park. In addition, ownership built out a much more substantial cigar humidor that instantly makes it one of the best places in Los Angeles to have a smoke and sip on excellent cocktails." - Matthew Kang

Google
Phenomenal service and experience. Very impressive selection of cigars as well. Exclusive and private feel make the whole vibe well worth the price of admission. Drinks are top notch and food is quality as well. Couldn't have asked for more!

Google
Exquisite vibe and exclusivity. Love it! Sean was an excellent host! The Terrace was great as well for dinner for our Zuma exotic car group before being escorted to the Whiskey Bar. The Maybourne valets were excellent and staged our exotics out front. Looking forward to returning on a regular basis.

Google
It is the best service and ambiance I love it I totally recommend anyone that need a good atmosphere and smoke good cigars to come here Ask about the Cohiba Cigars And make sure Sean or Art are there I came here 3 days in a row I wish I’m staying more in LA to keep coming here

Google
Absolutely amazing service as well as selection. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and I will most definitely be back. Make sure to get a reservation

Google
Wow a fantastic place to smoke cigars on a beautiful terrace it feels like a private club. They serve CUBAN cigars here unbelievable and they are rrrrico. Shaun and David are great hosts they really are knowledgeable of their drink an cigar selection. Make sure to RESERVE beforehand and you have to be escorted to the bar. Also not a cheap place but its Beverly Hills baby!

Artak V.

Google
You cannot smoke if not staying at the hotel! So, it is not exactly for public. I just drove across the town to enjoy a cigar just to learn I’m not welcome

Google
So… The reason I’m giving just one star is obviously because there’s no zero… We went to this place because de Visa Concierge recommended it, got to the lobby and were informed that unless you’re staying at the hotel you cannot buy or smoke a cigar in there… I mean… It’s a Cigar bar where you can’t smoke and nobody tells you that until you get there from probably afar.

Google
Seated on a balcony overlooking a beautiful park courtyard, we enjoyed a fine cigar and delightful drinks with fine dining and great service.

Yelp
Awesome place, quiet ,comfortable and great service. If you have a chance to go when in Beverly hills is a must place to be.

Yelp
Yikes. Minimum of $100 per person on a quiet night. They were out of the whisky we wanted, so we settled for another -- but the server couldn't identify any of the flavors or reasons for trying it. Hard to imagine going back.

Yelp
The Cigar and Whiskey Bar is located inside The Maybourne Hotel is OPEN! Formerly known as the Ten Pound Bar to former: The Montage Hotel. The Montage Hotel was acquired by the Maybourne group and the Ten Pound Bar closed due to the COVID pandemic. Upon entry, the aroma of fragrant cigar and cedar catches your senses. And the improves remodel is striking and maintains the elegance of a fine private club lounge to enjoy a glass of rare and exquisite whiskey from the Scottish highlands, premier japanese distilleries, as well as bourbons from Kentucky to pair along with the perfect imported cigar. The cigar humidor holds over 3000 cigars from the Carribean to Central America. In partnership with Cigar expert and founder 'Taz' is still at the helm. This swanky cigar and whiskey lounge maintains the outdoor balcony seating which overlooks Beverly Canon gardens. Absolutely thrilled this lounge has reopened, its super convenient for me as a resident at The Maybourne. This bar lounge is among the best place to relax enjoy for those with a palate for the $$$$ best. Recommend.

Yelp
I'm sorry sir, you can't just come in and smoke cigars. You have to spend atleast $100 a person. This is what was told to my brother when we wanted to come on. We prolly would have spent over $100 a head, but calling us poor in your fancy BH neighborhood is a no no.

Yelp
I almost feel guilty reviewing this place. It is beyond a hidden gem. We stayed at the hotel basically because we knew there was a speakeasy style cigar bar. The hotel staff escorted us up to the cigar bar which is through a hidden door on the 2nd floor. There is one person working the bar and a few tables. We got a great seat on a couch overlooking the courtyard. We got our menus. We started with cocktails while deciding on which cigars to order. Turns out if you are a guest of the hotel they have a special menu for you with a better selection. The cigars were amazing, the drinks top notch and the snacks were great too.

Yelp
Great spot, my wife surprised me with a visit after dinner. From the time the staff contacted us it was nothing but a class act. The fact that a reservation is needed keeps the number of people limited so one can enjoy a great cigar and drink. If in the area it's a must try. Some post complain about the cost, if the price of a drink and cigar is going to be a issue don't go.

Yelp
This is a great classy place to chill on a balcony with a Cuban and a glass of whiskey. Place makes you feel like a VIP at an exclusive cigar lounge without having to break the bank on being a member when you want the occasional night out.

Frank K.

Yelp
This has to be the best cigar bar in the world. You have to make a reservation a week out or you probably won't be able to get in as the space is small and demand must be through the roof. (Note their only bad reviews on here are from people that couldn't get in lol) They have whiskey that costs up to 20K a pour and the rarest MacAllan collection in the country.

Yelp
BE CAREFUL!!!! We made a reservation on THEIR website!!! We get there and they tell us they are over booked and they couldn't find our reservation! Ridiculous service. Embarrassing to call yourselves a business!!!

Yelp
What a great cigar bar. Amazing view over the courtyard and the highest-quality selection of liquor I've ever seen under one roof. Amazing cigars from over the world as well. If you are in the area, I highly recommend!

Yelp
This cigar lounge is fantastic. I highly recommend a reservation before coming just to secure your spot. I was led by this gentleman in a suit, walking me up to the elevator/stairs and into this speakeasy-like room full of expensive and rare liquors and a velvet red living room that was cozy and intimate. It felt like I was in this secret VIP room which was excellent. There is of course a humidor full of the major brands such as Padron, Ashton, Fuente, Oliva, etc. they also have some Cubans! This one I was truly excited about. They had Partagas and Cohiba. You have to expect that 2oz pours and cigars are going to be up charged to 3-4x the rate. For example a simple pour of Eagle Rare (2oz) goes for around $30. My Cohiba cigar was exactly $93 so that alone was expensive. It is what it is and it's expected from a high end luxury spot in the middle of Beverly Hills. It's an experience with absolutely professional staff that know enough about the products and can assist you to your liking. I spent about 2 hrs on the Terrace and enjoyed my cigar. It was nice but definitely a once in a while thing whenever I'm in LA and wanting another rare Cuban. I will be back again!

Yelp
Phenomenal service and experience. Very impressive selection of cigars as well. Exclusive and private feel make the whole vibe well worth the price of admission. Drinks are top notch and food is quality as well - highly recommend the old fashions, oysters and beef tartare. Couldn't have asked for more!

Yelp
It's really a great spot! Seanie is knowledgeable and goes above and beyond. The whiskey selection is beyond awesome.

Yelp
The service is top notch and the menu is amazing. You will get fantastic parings and a relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
It obviously isn't easy to make a reservation here as there's such a huge demand and limited space. It'a also pricey and I imagine not for everyone, but this is by far and away the coolest bar in Los Angeles. Not somewhere you would go every night, but if you're celebrating or your crypto just went to the moon, try and go!

Yelp
This is a very intimate, classy place and the service was impeccable. I came here with my friend on a weekday and wasn't crowded. I suggest making reservations because it's limited seating. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
The WORST PLACE TO BOOK A RESERVATION ! I BOOKED a birthday reservation to the Cigar and Whiskey Bar for my BIRTHDAY. A complete disaster! I called 24hrs in advance to book a reservation and when I arrived they claimed they could not fit me in etc. Not only was this a horrible experience but the staff was extremely rude even after I showed them proof I booked and called the right place to make a reservation. Very unorganized and rude. I would NOT recommend this place, especially when it comes to special events!
