Absolutely recommended! I’ve had the best experience with the lactation support group class on Friday! It’s every Friday from 10 to 11:30 am. Everyone is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly too and they helped me exactly with what I needed struggling breastfeeding a 10 days old baby!!! It’s been also great meeting with other moms and talking about the same issues together without feeling alone!!! Didn’t have time to take the pictures of the store which is super cute and filled with amazing products!!! I will add pictures this coming Friday since I will go back there! Highly recommended!!! Very cute and adorable store selling handmade toys for babies and toddlers. Was here this past Saturday for my cousins Joseph and Lauren’s daughter Ezzy’s 2nd birthday party

A friend recommended this place for baby pants and since I knew what I wanted I thought I could get them quickly so I decided to go before they closed at 6:00pm. There was very little street parking so my friend and I decided to walk 20 minutes with the stroller and arrived at 5:25pm only to be told they were closed. Very disappointed and will never go back here again! It is really disgusting that the opening hours are uncertain！

I love this store, not only for the selection of eco friendly clothes and carriers, toys and nursing wear. Yes it's pricey but everything here is hand picked and of super high quality. But the best is that is a really welcoming place if you just need a safe place to nurse your baby or change a diaper. Anyone that's been out and about with their newborn knows what a scary place the world can be and this is your haven! Big selection of classes for new and expecting parents and their babies too.

My wife and I have a 3 day old. Thankfully, we live next to this invaluable resource. Their staff is knowledgable, compassionate and helpful. We went in several times before the little guy came, but now that he's here, having a place like this that has classes, clothing and supplies is amazing beyond words. I went in looking for help with feeding and the girl behind the counter reassured me that my baby would be fine and gave me great information on lactation consultants. I love this place.

Great for expecting and new parents, with a wide selection of curated products and a program of educational and developmental classes. We love the affordable baby playgroups and found the pre-birth education classes they hosted to be invaluable. A wonderful neighborhood resource.

This is my favorite store for everything for a new mom, baby, toddler, and young child. It has all my favorite products in one place. I can get everything I need there. I have purchased, pacifier clips, organic baby clothes, toddler wool PJ's, cloth diapers, baby wearing wraps and carriers, diaper cream, the list goes on and on. The staff is always helpful and kind.

I went in looking for a gift for my friend who will be giving birth any day, I asked the saleswoman with curly hair to help me out (this place is really out of my realm of comfort) after I asked for advice on a baby wrap gift she legitimately pointed at a relatively general direction without moving from the front desk and said "you probably want that". Which if I was understanding from her pointed finger was a swaddle blanket. Not only did she give me one option but could not bother to show me or make an effort to understand what it was I was trying to find. Is this not her job? I won't ever go back, which is unfortunately since I live across the street and I need to buy a lot of friends baby gifts within the next year.

I joke that motherhood has made me into the ideal consumer, because my mom friends and I often talk about our favorite brands and products. Well, this is the perfect place to put that into practice. It has all of the best brands--Frida and Coterie come to mind--and it's nice to buy locally instead of during late-night scrolling on Amazon. The store is beautiful and has everything you could need. Some of it is pricey, but everything is very well-made and there are certainly items in all price ranges. Most of all, this store is accommodating to babies. The staff helped me get my stroller in; they have two changing pads with diapers and wipes (plus I think a toiler sprayer for cloth diapers?); and they let me nurse in the back room. I will definitely be back!

We set up our baby shower registry with The Wild and are so happy we did! Everything they carry is very high quality. Loved that we were able to support this great local business, and feel confident that everything we selected would be non-toxic and well-made.

As an early Christmas present, my husband ordered me a baby carrying winter jacket from "The Wild," but when we received it we realized it was the wrong size. The shop was so accommodating when he called to tell them of the mistake. We live in DC and were passing through New York in a month and they told us they'd happily exchange it for us when we came through. That's more generous than the actual company site of the coat! When we got there, they let me try it on the new size WITH a carrier and dummy doll to make sure it fit how I wanted it to. It was so nice not having to take my son out of his stroller! The store is clearly made with mothers and children in mind. The shop itself is also just filled with the most wonderful baby and maternity products. A great place for gifts and necessities. They also have a variety of classes available in the back of the store. This is an awesome small community store and we will definitely be back!

More than just our go-to store for everything baby related, this place is an institution. It was where I figured out which baby carrier to use, had lactation advice, took my baby for sing along lessons, bought her first teething beads (a godsend!), birthday presents for her new baby friends, and got her the nicest clothes she owns. So relieved it didn't close down, and so pleasantly surprised with the new management, new look and the items they're now selling (gorgeous furniture, rugs, etc). The staff is so friendly, courteous and help you navigate through the crazy forest that parenthood can be!

I can't say enough good things about this shop. When our son was a newborn I would come here for all my needs, whether it was for nursing gear, a safe place to nurse, a place to get some info on the latest carriers and more. The vibe is warm, the stock is beautiful and I always go out of my way to stop here and purchase locally instead of adding it to my amazon cart when I know they have it in stock. Within a week of posting this review, the store owner began sending angry messages to my personal email account, accusing me of trying to ruin her business. I never gave out that info on Yelp, which means she went back into the store records to find it from the online purchase I made. Not only is this a violation of Yelp policy, it's so unprofessional and personally violating as well. It's important to be able to speak to your experience as a customer, whether positive or negative. And the way that a business treats a longtime customer over a straightforward transaction speaks volumes about it's ethics. As a young black woman, standing in the front of that store for 30-minutes being accused of falsifying a purchase/return (which the store had in its records!), while other customers were treated to smiles and baby wrap demos, was just humiliating. Having the space to be honest about unfair treatment is a small way of righting a wrong. It's interesting how many of the reviewers that posted just after I did, either criticize or mock my experience instead of discussing their own.

Great selection of quality baby/toddler/maternity goods! If you're looking for the coolest and newest version of something meant for baby/toddler/mom-to-be/mom, this place is a great place to check out! This is a wonderful store for gifts both for moms and babies. I love the new look and the owner Kate is so helpful. I look forward to shopping here regularly.

Thank god this store stayed open. The previous owner created a wonderful space and shopping resource for the area and the new owner Kate has only improved upon it. I saw the one star review when sharing the location for the store with a friend who is also a young black mother and it brought me out of yelp silence just like the other recent reviewers! We are with you "Wild was mama"!! The whole "I was treated differently" argument is such trash. The staff at the store is inclusive and my circle of friends have ALWAYS been greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome so if you experience otherwise then perhaps you should check your own behavior. And of course the owner reached out to you privately after you post some trash review. She emailed me to follow up after I decided to withdraw from a class (simply because I stopped needing that particular support). Welcome to shopping at a small business, most of us find it refreshing. The staff have always been professional and super educated on the products they sell and I have learned a ton! For example, I knew nothing about cloth diapering and after speaking to one of the girls I felt way less intimidated and determined to do my part for the environment and go for it with the next one. I even learned that it can help kids potty train more quickly and it took us forever the first time so I'll definitely be up for trying that! Anyway, ultimately I suppose reviews don't matter that much, the word of mouth on this place is what brought me in the first time and I'm sure it will persist. But couldn't let the whole "people only post reviews when they are mad" thing get me so I'm posting a good review and that's my part done. Love, a wild mama.

This store is a travesty. They talk the talk but do not walk the walk - my family will never shop here again. They message that they are here to support pregnant women and children but will not let a 9-month pregnant woman use the bathroom in an emergency!! After reading other negative reviews here, I feel duped for ever believing this was a good place to shop. Shame on the owners, you are the WORST.

5 stars all day. Wild Was Mama is so much more then a retail store, it's a community and safe haven for all walks of life. I typically don't ever leave reviews (& perhaps I should) but after reading the nasty one star review, I knew it was time to share my love for this shop. Wild Was Mama is a one of a kind space that offers a beautiful, natural array of goods for mom & baby alike, endless classes from music, childbirth education, lactation support, ect. and a helpful, knowledgable, caring staff. I never felt out of a place when walking into this space. Going back to the one star review, I was there the day it happened. I was being shown a baby carrier by one of the lovely ladies there. I think it's SO unfair to quickly write a bad review that could cripple a company that is a staple in this Greenpoint community all because you were upset that you misunderstood the return policy (which is always in place for a reason, especially when it comes to a small business living in AMAZON TIMES). It's also important to say I'm 96% sure the lady received a refund back to her credit card as I was standing behind her waiting to check out. P.s Try the Oat Mama lactation bars.. they are so addicting.

This place is great for gifts, they have many high quality items, but isn't that great for basic needs .because it's a little pricey Since I live in Greenpoint and like to shop local, I went here to try and get some basics for my little guy. After I explained that I needed the equivalent of a pack of tee shirts for a newborn, they showed me a pair of $17 socks, and a $30 kimono which were the only things small enough. I bought them because I was desperate. This wasn't my first experience here. When my wife was pregnant we took a birthing class, which was okay. I think I felt similarly about the class as the rest of the store, It was a bit pricey and accompanied with a big smile but I got way more out of reading the Birthing Partner book. The staff is friendly, but in the way that all sales people are at high end boutiques. I think that I am just too pragmatic for this place to be my regular go to for baby goods, but I'm glad it's in the neighborhood.

We signed up for the childbirth education classes with Meghan. What a wonderful experience! We chose the 4 week course instead of the weekend intensive so we could digest all the information from the week prior and ask any question the following week. Meghan was very knowledgable, friendly and did a wonderful job of creating an intimate and safe space for all expecting parents. She is also a doula who recently had a baby so ideal resource for any and all information. No question was off limits and every week was very informative. Highly recommended to all expecting parents!!!

I'm a first time mom and Caribou Baby has saved the day for me more times than I can count! When I needed a nursing bra, I balked at the thought of going into Manhattan when I was first postpartum. I couldn't even figure out how to cook for myself, much less take the dam subway. I had no idea where to go and then one day on a walk around the hood, my husband, baby and I walked past Caribou and I just ran in all excited and asked "do you have any nursing bras??do you have any nursing bras????" and of course they did. The staff was super friendly and helpful and I immediately felt like I was at a friend's house or something. I bought 2 bras and some fun washcloths. They offered us some tea in their rad seating area and I felt so at home. The owner Adriane has also helped me figure out ring slings, woven wraps and different carriers that they sell many, many times. I was so excited to finally get real help with this topic. I think I went in there 4x asking for a demo before buying one and she was always so patient with me, and also with anyone else who needs help with them. I even ran in there in tears one day asking if they had any herbs that help milk production, and of course they did, and she just gave me this huge hug saying it'll all be ok, and that was exactly what I needed to hear at that time. I write all this because it's not just a store, but an all around go-to place for new parents, pro parents, a space to just drop everything and nurse if you need to, a gathering space, a space where you can get non-toxic pacifiers and the like....and there is a SCALE! Anyone who has dealt with nursing issues knows how amazing this is!! And to top it off, the back room *rules*. It's great for classes, moms groups and stuff. There's an AV setup, a kitchenette, a garden, a skylight. I'm there at least twice a week now going to a class or a moms group get together. And the music they play around the store is always REALLY good. Like a good bar, ya know?

Fabulous store, I can't get enough!!! The store owner is very knowledgeable and educated us on baby wearing and cloth diapering. Adrianne took a lot of time showing us how to use a wrap and the various styles. We have been having a blast getting our nursery together Caribou has been such a help! The prices are totally reasonable and they carry a wide selection of environmentally friendly necessities for your little boo. There is a nice sitting area and a spacious bathroom with changing station. I love supporting a local business like hers that only sells Eco conscious products.

Better than ever this store. I have found the best clothes for my daughter. Truly bespoke and curated children's clothes. Their customer service is top notch! Thank you thank you for staying open!

This store gets five stars not because I've bought a ton of stuff here or because it's a one stop shop for baby. I shop here when I know they have what I want and I know they will be friendly and helpful. As a nanny, it's great that they were willing to show me wraps over and over again as my nanny baby got bigger. And they continually offer great service even though I'm in there all the time without the explicit desire to buy something. Also took my CPR and first aid here. And I've heard their music classes are awesome. I appreciate the community they offer more than any fantastic item they may sell.

Not welcoming to LGBTQ Families or Single Moms. I have heard so many great things about The Wild, living in the neighborhood I was excited to finally check it out. In two experiences of visiting The Wild, this month, I have to say that both times I felt quite uncomfortable in the store. The classes, which were the main draw for me, made no attempt to recognize that families can have multiple structures. At The Wild, parenthood is about moms and dads. Apparently same sex partners, co-parents, or supportive people helping single women aren't valid. Looking through the month's full program of courses it struck me that there wasn't a single one that acknowledged queer families or single mothers or even attempted to use inclusive language such as "birth partner" "spouse" "co-parent" etc. Living in NYC at this moment, this seems pretty tone deaf. My masculine presenting partner and I were at The Wild together this Sunday afternoon. We were ignored by the staff who only spoke when we asked her question about products. She seemed so annoyed by us talking to her we decided to not to ask about classes which is the reason we made it a point to come in together. We still bought a swaddling blanket, a toy and a belly balm but left feeling extremely uncomfortable. Apparently our kind of family is not welcome at The Wild. It is no wonder that pregnancy and parenthood can again be even more isolating for queer parents and single moms.

I wish I had all the money in the world; I'd buy one of everything in this store! Had to settle for baby sunglasses and chap stick for now... ;)

This space is an oasis. beautifully designed, serene, spacious, child friendly, mom friendly, it smells good. very comfy, easy to sit down in, take your time in. the people are nice and the products are irresistable, high quality, non toxic, beautifully curated, ethically sourced, useful and not overpriced.

After having many good experiences here, I must now write about a bad one. Beware of coming here if you don't exactly know what you're looking for. My husband wanted me to find something for teething here, which he had talked about on the phone with a Wild Was Mama employee at the other location. At the last minute, it ended up being me going into the store and my husband going home to feed the baby dinner. I thought it would be easy enough to just ask the woman working there what they had. When I did, she said "Over there on that table." She just barely pointed to a table and then focused right back on her laptop. What was on the table were 3 teething toy things, but that's not what we needed. I wasn't sure exactly what my husband had hoped for but this woman was not going to help me I realized, so I had to waste time, waiting for my husband to call me back (while feeding the baby) to tell me what he knew they had, relating to his phone conversation. He finally called me and said they would have a tincture or some other herbal remedy for teething and then I asked the woman and she (reluctantly) walked me back toward the back of the store (far from that table) to show me the tincture and Camilia. Before I could ask her about them, she had already walked back to her post by the door/laptop/register. So, with my husband on speaker-phone feeding the baby we just had to guess which thing we wanted to try and I got the Camilia and we'll be hoping for the best. I'm really disappointed that the woman at the store was not at all invested in helping me.

Great baby store in the neighborhood. The storeowner and clerks are always very friendly and helpful. They're ready to show you how use their wearable stuff (their specialty). Additionally, they also offer all kinds of interesting classes at their store. My wife and I went for the "Expecting parents with pets" presentation and it was very help to prepare us for dealing with having a baby and our dog.

I've been here twice while on vacation, to both locations, and they were all so helpful! Victoria is a gem that even remembered me from my visit almost a year before! They're kind and friendly and will take the time to help you find what you're looking for, or they let you browse casually with no pressure if you just want to look around. I had an excellent experience both times and look forward to visiting again. I love shopping local, so if I can't find something in my local store, I'll go to their website next before buying from a big box store or amazon. They were a lifesaver to me when I was in NYC for a trip 6 months pregnant. I was able to come in and find a belly support band that they set aside for me. I love that they have so many classes and education opportunities for breastfeeding, babywearing, and childbirth classes. Stores like this change lives!

This place has a great selection of all things baby but just on the pricey side. Friendly staff.

I was very daunted by babywearing, as I had tried two different wraps and I couldn't for the life of me figure them out! I arrived at Wild Was Mama and the salesperson (I believe her name was Victoria?) was INCREDIBLY helpful and knowledgeable about the different carrying options; she really knew her stuff! I felt more relaxed (albeit exhausted) and less intimidated by the carrying options. She gave me confidence, and I'm very happy with what I ended up purchasing! (The Girasol MySol) Thank you!

We love this place, mostly for the amazing classes. We just took the baby carrier class today, and it was SO HELPFUL. Why would you need a baby carrier class, you ask? We did it mostly because we didn't want to sink a bunch of money into a bunch of carriers before we figured out which one we like more, which is easy to do given the MASSIVE amount of carriers out there. Took their $10 class and Boom! My wife picked a soft structure carrier we didn't know existed, and I learned that a ring sling worked with my body better than other types of carriers. AND we were able to pick ones that were summer-friendly by asking the instructor, since neither of us want to be even more sweaty during city summers.

Organic, soft cotton clothes. Sweet hats and adorable toys and stuffed animals. And a staff with solid, helpful knowledge about baby wearing--how can you go wrong? They have an amazing selection of baby wearing devices and folks on staff who patiently help you try them on and decide which is best for you. You won't find this kind of service in any big box store. I fell madly in love. And I am also impressed with every detail---a room for the many classes they hold on site, little potties for the little ones who need the in the bathroom and a comfy changing table so your baby is lying on a board. These folks have customer service and quality product choices down to a science.

I was looking for something for my cousins baby shower. I didn't know exactly what I should be getting and I didn't want to just pick something from her registry. I had a conversation with the store owner about what might be a nice combination of small gifts for a new mom. She was very helpful and went out of her way to make thoughtful suggestions. I had a great experience shopping at Wild Was Momma and will definitely shop there in the future. Great small business!

I love this store! Everyone who works there is so warm and inviting. As an expecting mom, I needed help in thinking through what the best products are to get. The owner personally spent over 45 minutes with me chatting about wraps and the classes they offer. Highly recommend this store to anyone!

Once again, I'm amazed by how awesome my experience at WWM was. I went on Saturday for their baby wearing lab, and it was super useful. I'm now much better with my ring sling and my Boba. I've just leaned to use my pump, but my baby wasn't into the bottle. I asked for help at WWM, and they explained that the best bottle is the one that has a nipple that's most like mine. I bought a como tomo, and the baby took it on the first try! While I was there, all the sales people seemed truly happy to be helping their customers. It's such a gem. I will always go to Wild Was Mama before I head for the Internet because I love it there so very much!

I came in here desperate for nursing bras that fit. I'm a tough size. Walk in explain my situation "no problem!" Walk out with two in under 30 minutes. Fantastic and knowledgeable staff. Came back in for an emergency pair of maternity pants...theyre my favorite ever. Fantastic product lines, great staff, lots of stuff for mom, lots of stuff for baby, and a very cute relaxing atmosphere. I'll be going back again and again.

Friendly, inviting and courteous. Even if you just need to get your child inside for a second, you can stop in and warm up on the couches. The staff is very helpful and they've curated a beautiful array of products for kids. Great for moms, or gifts to moms (and dads).

This is a wonderful store, although I feel weird calling it that since it is so much more than just a place to pick up baby supplies. I first visited Caribou when I was pregnant, and the owner Adriane spent what seemed like hours showing me how to use the girasol wrap and gave me lots of great info on "baby wearing." Then after my daughter was born I went back again to make sure I was doing it right ("pregnancy brain" is a very real thing). I thought I wanted to buy a different wrap but she actually talked me into keeping the one I already had after showing me what I was doing wrong, something stores don't usually do. They really care about and love what they do, and it shows. I also take my daughter to their sing-a-long on Tuesdays, and she just loves it.

There is a reason this store has a nearly-five star rating. The staff is incredibly knowledgable, patient and accommodating. I went with a million and one questions about carriers for my second child, and spent a long time choosing one. I've since been back as I'm thinking about buying another. This store is not convenient to me but I go out of my way to come here and purchase from here, and will continue to do so. Thanks for the always-excellent customer service!

Obsessed with the knowledgeable staff and natural product selection! All the people that work here go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Truly amazing. Stop in if you're close by.

This place is great. It is pretty pricey, but the people who work there are great and I think that makes any retail experience positive. We bought a pump there that when we took it home it didn't work. I brought it back the next day and instead of giving me a hard time about it they not only replaced it quickly, but replaced it with a better one for my troubles. Any place that cares about customer service like that is a winner in my book.

This place is great! It's run by knowledgeable people and stocked with everything you need to have your baby by your side. If you have a kid who gets bored while you shop, they can now play in the play area. The store also has a bathroom with a changing table. They were very helpful in explaining the multitude of different slings and carriers they have. Very happy.

I'm so impressed by the amazing customer service. Especially the attention I got from Tracy Michele Bullock, Manager. I was looking for the Light Rainbow Diamond Girasol for a friend's baby shower and Tracy did anything/everything to help me find it. She was so kind and attentive... I will certainly return in the future.

Caribou gave us about the best customer service experience ever today! We needed a replacement part for my wife's breast pump, and we needed it immediately - I ended up on a mission to find it for her today. Caribou not only had it in stock, when I let them know how difficult it would be for me to get there in time from Park Slope, they offered to put it in a car-service and send it over. I got a call back a few minutes later from the manager that one of her staff members had offered to bring it to me when she finished her shift!!! (Thanks Holly!) She didn't even live in our neighborhood. I know that can't be their everyday policy but it does speak to the dedication of the staff to what they do. We really appreciate having this store in Brooklyn.

This store was recommended to me as a "must visit" when looking for a wrap/sling. My husband and I strolled in on a weekend and left with a wrap and a ton of knowledge. We were browsing for a while (great stock of unique items), but mainly came to look at the wrap options. Adriane (the owner I presume) was very helpful from our entrance to our exit. She gave us a 30-45min informative lesson on how to wear a wrap, ring sling, and even the Moby (which we said we were given as a gift). She was soooo helpful and not invasive. She let us give a few wraps a try - even my husband was convinced he would use it!!! (thought he swore prior to this visit that he would strictly use a buckle carrier - the manly choice). Overall, the wrap was more expensive than we had planned for, but I KNOW it will be worth every penny (and ounce of energy saved). Thank you Adriane - and Caribou Baby!!!!!

Great neighborhood store for babies! I took birth classes, music classes, and baby workshops n all of them were fantastic. They have a bit pricey, but great selection of baby items. Thank u for being there :)!!

After my last encounter I have been reluctant to return to this shop however the owner has made it her personal agenda to make me feel at home. The times she was there upon my last visits she was very helpful and engaging and I am now more optimistic about my return trip.

I typically don't write reviews however I am impressed with Caribou Baby. Adriane was very sweet and helpful when we were looking for a carrier for my tall and broad shouldered husband and a new wrap for myself. My husband left happily with a comfortable carrier and eagerly used it with our daughter. They have an impressive amount of carriers and I felt like I was in a toy store. They also have a good assortment for cloth diapering, clothing, toys and baby care... Makes me wish we lived in Brooklyn instead of Queens.

This place is amazing!! I just discovered it and went in to shop for a nursing bra. The lady who helped me was so nice and super helpful. She told me all about her experience with nursing and what to expect. They also have all kinds of classes for new parents and prenatal yoga. I'm thrilled to have found such an awesome baby & maternity store in Greenpoint. I can't recommend this place enough!

I hope this store stays in the neighborhood for a long, long time. I've had nothing but great experiences -- they demo and help you choose baby carriers, have a great baby registry and help you figure out what to register for, and are all around friendly. They care great brands with an eco-focus. After our baby arrives, I'm psyched for their great variety of classes and communal space. Love Caribou!!

Caribou Baby! I don't have a baby, but I went with my wife who was buying presents for her friend. She found some very nice lotions and oils (pregnancy pampering kit?) along with some disposable diapers. We then went back again a few months later to buy some baby bathing suits for my cousin's baby. Definitely will be getting some xmas presents there soon. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially for my wife and I who were not familiar with the products, baby sizes, etc. The space is actually very unique, comfy and casual, which made it a very nice stop as we strolled around Greenpoint.

I don't usually review online but I asked where I can review this place because I got an exceptional service here. One that I didn't see in a very long time. I needed to chance my sakura bloom sling because it had a defect and the staff was very helpful following up the phone conversation with an email then another call. They stayed in touch until the problem was solved and were very helpful and kind in all that they did. I will never meet them but i wish I can go and visit the store myself one day. Shop here you won't be disappointed.

A wonderful business with unique retail products and baby/parenting classes. I hosted a talk for new parents in their private space and they were very organized and accommodating. It's always a pleasure shopping here and working with them.

We took a great class to teach us how to use baby carriers ! Jess spent a ton of time carefully explaining the options and answering all our questions. We ended up getting a carrier that was much better than what we had seen online. Thanks again!
