Use to be special with lots of interesting wines. Now much narrower choice set. Still great customer service with knowledgeable staff, but very disappointing limited mix. Still better than a enrage, but use to be better. Made a special trip there. Won't do that again.

My favorite, and one of the best wine shops, in Los Angeles. The Wine House has the "neighborhood" vibe with an enormous, well-curated selection. Since discovering it 1.5 years ago, it's been my go-to shop. As I focus on Italian wine, Lance's newsletter is a must. I've gotten to taste gems from all 20 regions and from $9-90. The in-store events (once they return) are also a must-attend—an opportunity to meet producers, others passionate about wine, and taste. For those looking to dive in deeper, I'd highly recommend WSET courses with Monica Marin who is an incredible instructor. I've taken her Level 1-2 courses and Bordeaux and Tequila classes. Only a 15 min drive from Santa Monica. Right where the 10 meets the 405 :)

Holy mackerel...This huge warehouse of a store has an astonishing selection. They have several, not just one or two Tua Rita selections. They even had other natural or biodynamic stuff I was looking for. Note they are only doing curbside pickup on street level. They do have parking. The pickup procedure went relatively smoothly. Wish they would do pick up at parking level as the street level entrance is RIGHT by a freeway entry point.

Such a good experience ... ambiance, particularly music, lighting and decor when entering from outside was a nice start. Server has a cool vibe and support staff are super friendly. Food, wine and desert could not have been better, all set the stage for great discussions with our company and the best time. Loved it!

If you know you know. Amazing wine warehouse for West LA. Worth driving from further if needed. Also, try their INCREDIBLE restaurant on top. To say the arrival is underwhelming is an understatement. But the restaurant itself will surprise you. Beautiful. Incredible food. Great for a nice date night or business dinner (especially if you aren’t footing the bill ;-)).

Wow is this place amazing. Giant selection, prices that are not crazy, and the staff is super knowledgeable, extremely helpful. And they buy collections, large cellars of older wines. Just fantastic! It's an amazing store staffed by wonderful people.

Home of the best WSET school and instructor, Monica Marin! I've taken WSET classes with Monica from Level 2 through to Diploma and can't recommend her highly enough. Her classes are not only incredibly informative and fun, but she goes the extra mile to invite a range of guest speakers who include some of the industry's top talent. Monica is also a master of exam strategy and will teach beyond course content, providing vital tactics on studying, blind tasting, time management, and how to answer the questions effectively. Her tips and tricks can make the difference between a pass or fail, and are a must-have for anyone aiming for grades with merit/distinction. Such a great selection of wine from all over the world. They also have wine events and classes to take, and they have a tasting room which is amazing! Service is great, the tasting room closed and they opened it up a little longer for my friend and I. Which we really appreciated! They provided us with great wine recommendations as well.

The store has a good selection, it has become my go-to in LA. As a college student, I would really appreciate if they brought back the closeout section to the website though :) However, I especially appreciate WSET classes with Monica Marin! I took Levels 2 and 3 with her and passed both. She feels responsible to provide the best possible experience to students (wines tasted have been spectacular) and teaches with great and infectious enthusiasm. For level 3, however, she took exam preparation very seriously which made it much easier to pass! The pictures attached are just some of the wines Monica opened for us

Provender: this is an excellent place if you're looking for wine. They have a wide variety of wines from around the world. They also offer other related non-wine items, such as cheese and crackers. There's a liquor section, along with beers in the refrigerated area. Prices: reasonable for wine. Parking: there's a second story lot. The entrance is near the freeway entrance, so it's easy to miss. They also have street parking. People: adult oriented since they sell booze. Perks: they have an area near the Barolo section where you can try out some wines. You prepay for a card and you get to try various wines they have on display. Staff are incredibly friendly. They also have a restaurant on the second floor.

I took the WSET Levels 2 and 3 with Monica Marin and I can't recommend her enough! She was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. I learned so much each class and spent a lot of time laughing as well. Her knowledge goes beyond the textbook which helps you connect to the material in a deeper and meaningful way (not to mention, it helped make it easier to memorize). She is definitely the reason I passed each level with merit.

Came here for a wine tasting event partnered with a winery on a weeknight. It was a great event! $30 and tasted eight different wines. First off, I love that they have a parking lot on the roof. The entrance is on the side just after the highway entrance if you're headed south on Cotner. The lot isn't small either but can get packed. We managed to get one of the las spots probably because of the event and also the restaurant. The event was fairly nicely spaced out so it didn't feel crowded. They also set-up standing tables around the space which was nice since they also offered some charcuterie items as snacks. The plates they provided had a space to hang the wine glass which made it easier to hold both the plate and wine glass while standing around.

This is a restaurant on the top floor of what appears to be a very well-known and revered wine shop/warehouse/wine-education provider. the restaurant is beautiful, and relaxing, and has a robust menu. It feels like fine dining but there is a peaceful atmosphere that is great for any type of occasion. I went on a date and it was so fun. We shared several appetizers and we even shared some glasses of wine so that we could maximize the things we tried. They have such beautiful presentation of their food and cocktails. They have a stunning bar with about 12-15 stools and 20 tables for various sizes of groups. there is no view out of the window aside from a dead-end street but it just adds to the secluded and fun feeling that I enjoyed during this meal. This place is run by some genius named Francois Renault from what Ican tell (guy who worked on making/made/ran? Cafe Stella/Tasting Kitchen, Kimpton Weho). The place is run by high-intellect players in the restaurant industry and it feels like a passion project of seriously talented people who care about this experience in a way that I have not seen in a while. We enjoyed ourselves. it is worth the trip over to that side of town (it is SAMO adjacent - but not in the annoying part of SAMO), and it is worth the money. Keep in mind it's pricey. Cocktails are about $18-24. Wine is regular prices...but the selection felt so special. The appetizers are mildly priced and worth the money - the mains are pricier. It is worth the money. the service was spectatular. We got so much attention and it really felt like we were given the best experience so I had to share. try it out!!

Great choice, however very expensive!!! Ask for Garen, he knows the best wines for the fairest prices, great recommendations, or Lance , very knowledgeable too. However not very friendly people at the check out. No hello not goodbye , at pretty unhappy to help to bring the boxes to the car.

Today marks the day I have discovered The Wine House, my little piece of heaven here in Los Angeles! After two different stores didn't have a specific white wine I wanted, I thought I would stop by and see if this place carried it. Upon entering, I was so impressed with this little gem! The entire store is sectioned by the country or region of the world the wine comes from and is decorated beautifully with the flags representing each country. Not even five minutes after entering the establishment, I was able to find the bottle I was looking for thanks to the efficient layout and the alphabetical order the wines are sorted in. After double checking I picked up the correct bottle with the amazing Kevin, who also gave me a quick lesson in wine knowledge 101, I checked out with the lovely Jessica and Karina who were both such sweethearts and made my experience even better! I asked the girls if they sell any wine crates because I love having them as decor and they told me to head to the back where James gave me three crates of different sizes for free! I have already told a few of my friends about this place since visiting but I will make sure to be back. This is definitely my new spot for all my alcohol purchases in the future and I love supporting such an amazing team and business. Thanks again to this dream team here at The Wine House and I cannot wait for the tastings and wine education classes to resume after everything is resolved after the pandemic. Cheers!

A good friend recommended The Wine House as I was trying to add a few bottles of Sangiovese to my collection. Arrived and was overwhelmed by the vast selection. Unfortunately we had dinner reservations as I could've spend half a day just trying to locate the bottles I wanted. Luckily, JB was roaming around the store and could tell I needed some help. Took a little bit of time but he was able to help me find everything I was looking for. Loved the honesty and bit of education as he searched the store for the last 2 bottles of Le Ragnaie. Wished this store was closer to me as I could spend hours just browsing the shelves. Thanks again for all of your help, JB! Can't wait to pop the bottles in a few years.

I have gone through level 2 and 3 now with Monica at Wine House, and can't recommend her enough. She keeps the class enjoyable, and the pace of it is perfect, while also giving all of the information needed to not only pass the exams, but retain the information.

Most of their store clarks are attentive, helpful, and even enthusiastic. On the other hand, their cashiers are always blunt, looking annoyed. What a shame.

If heaven was a place on earth, this would be it. Honestly, the wine selection is phenomenal AND the staff is SO HELPFUL, WELCOMING, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. The prices are unbeatable. Plus, they host wine tastings that are pretty legendary with premier vintners, a vast array, and delectable charcuterie. Jim has always been super upbeat and helpful. Eduardo is a G and master of Latin wines. The only problem is that I come in looking for a couple bottles but leave with a couple cases. Please come here for all your wine needs and wants. Parking is above the establishment or metered street parking.

Love the wine selection and the site. Great selection of French, Italian, Spanish and Australian wines along with high end California wines. A lot of events and classes for wine tasting hosting by the wine makers. If you love wine, you can spend literally an hour there discovering wines from different regions. Prices are okay not a real bargain. You can buy a unique gift for a friend who loves wine that you cannot find it in a supermarket or a liquor store. They have a restaurant n the top that looks really good. The only reason they didn't get a five star from me is they are missing the personal service. But they are okay. Very efficient, experienced and professional.

This review is only for WSET courses with Monica. I recently did the WSET 3 with Monica and really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Previously I did level 2 online and to be candid I didn't learn much outside self study. I felt like I learned more in two in person classes than my entire level 2 online. Monica is really good at explaining the course work. She's also a very gifted taster so being and to blind taste and dive into wines with her stands out as well. She also set us up for success by constantly reminding us that we need to self study outside class or we would never pass. It definitely motivated me to take the course work very seriously and practice essay questions from the book. Would highly recommend Monica!

This is a review primarily focused on the Wine House's wine education program, specifically their certification programs through the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). The Wine House offers what is likely the broadest wine education program of any venue in Los Angeles County. I initially enrolled in a Level 2 WSET Intermediate certification program in 2020 then continued on with a Level 3 Advanced certification, which completed in March 2021, right at the start of Covid. Through the Level 3 program I made several "tasting group" friends and some of us decided to continue on to a much more rigorous, 2 year Diploma program. The Wine House's education program is headed by Monica Marin, herself a DipWSET graduate who holds many other certifications. Monica is an outstanding instructor - her passion, humor and ability to connect with students is one of the primary reasons I continued with the program. There is so much to potentially learn about the wines of the world - both through her direct instruction and the guest lecturers that she brought in to speak about specific wine regions or winemaking styles, Monica keeps all of her students engaged. The further you get in the program the more "self-study" is required, but Monica and the Wine House provide strong guidance. I strongly recommend for anyone interested in learning more about wine.

I recently completed the WSET 3 program led by Monica Martin at The Wine House, and I have nothing but praise for both the course and Monica. Her depth of knowledge and her ability to cater to diverse student needs are truly impressive. After considering several WSET 3 courses in Los Angeles, I am happy with my choice. What sets this course apart is reflected in the students' success rates. For instance, my class, which sat for the exam on February 24, 2024, achieved a remarkable 68% pass rate, significantly higher than the global average of about 50%. This statistic underscores Monica's skill in making the material relatable to the students. Our classes were consistently engaging and enjoyable, especially the weekly tastings, which I always looked forward to.

I would've never known this little hidden gem existed if it wasn't for me trying to track down a certain bottle of whiskey for a client. I was giving a little notice to find this particular bottle of whiskey and I was weary of ordering it from drizzly, Instacart, because if they don't have it they're gonna ask you to substitute it but we were on a time frame. I kept scrolling and saw that the Wine House had it and I'm thinking the Wine House has whiskey? I mean that's kind of misleading perhaps it should be called Winehouse and more... I called up to see if they indeed had it and James answered. He was very funny very friendly and very helpful. He found the bottle and I was able to purchase the bottle so that it would be there for me. He wrote my name down. I picked it up it was a painless transaction! I'm so excited to know that I can get all kinds of specialty liquor and wines from all over the world here! I cannot wait to go back and just browse around in awe of how much wine and liquor and Prosecco and sparkling wine in this place it is amazing! Bottom line is if you're looking for something specialty and you can't find it just because it's called the wine house doesn't mean that they might not have a liquor or sparkling wine, champagne, Prosecco, rosé, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Malbec... whatever you want I'm pretty sure they can get it and if they don't have it I'm sure they can order it for you! So whether you want something specialty, or are you just tired of what the grocery store has or other liquor stores this is beyond comprehension how much is there! You have got to check this place out place out!

I completed the WSET level 3 course taught by Monica Marin and took the test on February 24, 2024. The guidance and support Monica provided was second to none. She is an amazing instructor with a deep wealth of knowledge and I highly recommend her course. I received word that I passed on my first try and I credit Monica's guidance and support for that feat. Social-Distancing Review# 16 "Broader alcohol sales were up for the quarter driven by an even higher spike in wine and liquor sales." -- NBC News "Wine is the most healthful and hygienic of beverages." -- Louis Pasteur Since there's always a long line at Trader Joe's, I've been buying my wine at The Wine House. During this period, Wine House's selling procedures are as follows: 1) Place order online via their website : winehouse.com. 2) Confirmation and instructions of your purchase will be emailed to you. 3) Pick up wine, Curbside Only (You have 30 days to pick up your wine.) I was lucky to fall in love with a wine that cost only $10 . . . Zolo Chardonnay from Argentina but now that's sold out. I bought 6 of that. I also bought a couple of the Edna Valley Chard and one Kendall Jackson. The latter two were great but Zolo is the best. Shortly before the stay-at-home order, I bought a Cambria Chardonnay. It was highly rated and I've had a Cambria before which I loved, but this particular Cambria was no good. Wine House probably made an error in its storage. For highly-rated wines, the website features the review of the wine critic (e.g., Wine Enthusiast). Overall, I recommend this place. Update: I actually bought two (2) Cambria Chard and returned the other for credit. A rep from The Wine House messaged me after reading this review and informed me that I can get credit for the first bottle that I opened if I can show the receipt. And of course I found the receipt. I'll contact them. (Also she stated that their warehouse is air-conditioned so the storage was not the cause for that Cambria tasting not good.)

There's a good reason why The Wine House has so many 5-star reviews...and here's another semi-short & sweet confirmation. Needed a nice bottle of booze & wine for gifts. I don't drink too much so a friend gave me some suggestions and insisted I go to The Wine House. I've been there a few times and already knew it's a great place. I called to confirm they had the bourbon in stock and spoke to Dave on the phone, and he put it aside so it was waiting when I arrived. He also selected a nice bottle of Pinot for the other gift, and rang up my transaction in the back. Dave was very helpful & friendly, and fairly certain I couldn't go wrong with the bourbon suggestion & the wine he chose. There's plenty free of parking on their rooftop or metered street parking if you prefer. If you're not local to area, there's great 405 N freeway access next door & 405 S close-by. The place is very well-stocked & organized so I'm pretty sure they'll have what you're looking for. When I first walked inside, I was nicely greeted by the young man, who was ringing up a customer at the cash register. And then he threw in a friendly bon voyage upon my departure. It's no wonder this place has been thriving in the same location for nearly 50 years.

Great to be back shopping in the Wine House again. Well stocked. Store staff are as helpful as ever. Tasting room is closed. We browsed the Italian wines and found some new ones to try.

Now here's a great wine shop! Assuming, of course, if you can figure out where to park. Strangely juxtaposed by the 405 it's a two-story building with parking up top via a steep ramp. The cashier later pointed out a fenced parking lot across the street so duly noted. Take the stairs down and you're there! I like it when a shop has the finer accessories such as crystal glassware and decanters and related things to enhance the enjoyment of wine, port and cordials. These items seem a bit cramped in the front but I quickly forgot about that when I steered myself into the surprisingly vast retail space. I never made it to the domestic wine side of the store, it was so enthralling looking at familiar and new wines and labels in the Italian and French sections alone! Prices here are $1-7 more (or more) per bottle than, say, Hi-Time Cellars in Costa Mesa but that's 50 miles south of here so that time and money thing negates penny pinching. What did I find? Recently, at an Italian restaurant in Riverside I had a spectacular Sicilian wine by the glass (Gulfi) and went in search for a couple of bottles. So well represented here in Gulfi varieties that I initially grabbed two of the wrong one. I doubt that it's unequal of course but I wanted what I had and found it around the corner. That's the thing here, each alcove is cluttered with boxes so be prepared to spend time browsing unless you're impatient or in a big hurry. I asked one guy for directions at one point but the thrill of discovery meant wrong turns were educational. Like when I discovered the impressive tasting section- definitely going to charge up a card next time! My pictures only tell part of the story but this shop is pretty cool! I walked out after spending $165 on five great wines, including two Brunello di Montalcino bottles for gifts. Yep, drinking wine is expensive but so worth it when paired with appropriate food. Speaking of which, they have a munchies section that includes cheeses, charcuterie and crackers as well as tuna packed in olive oil. I'll be back again sometime soon to explore and sample. I was excited to see at least five different wines by Gulfi alone. Bargains are abundant here too so don't think this review celebrates elitism or snobbery.

Love the friendly service and the ability to get curbside pickup when I know what I want and have time to order it ahead of time. Have enjoyed events there and like the variety of not only regions but also price points.

Great selection of wines. I can get lost in this store. Great options for hard liquors as well. They even have some wine coolers for those that are light weights. I love checking out their rose selections. They also have a sake area to the front of the store near the cashiers. You can easily find some street parking right out front. We had no issues coming on the weekend. They also offer a box crate with individual holders if you buy a large quantity of bottles. So convenient!

The only place to go in LA for wine or spirits. No pretension, no judgment... Just friendly people who know a lot about what they sell. Thanks to Richard who spent time with me on Saturday picking out a bottle of whiskey to give as a gift. He was not only helpful and professional, he was fun to talk to, and I learned a few very interesting facts about scotch!

I highly recommend the WSET courses with Monica Marin. My friend and I are in the industry and recently completely the level 2 course. She is a great instructor, makes the information easy to comprehend, and she is very funny as well. We had a great time and walked away with so much valuable knowledge. If you're going to take WSET, I can't recommend her class enough! Wonderful Instructor

After a recent dinner at the restaurant I was very disappointed with the service quality. Our table was pressured to order quickly and even after asking to allow us to have time to decide what we want to order we were pressured to get on with it. We were not allowed to order appetizers and drinks without providing our main meal orders. What the restaurant describes as sides are not allowed to be ordered as appetizers. All these rules were extremely demoralizing and we felt that there was no way to relax. In the end the food was okay but the atmosphere was negative. After the meal we discovered that we were charged for two bottles of wine when we only had one. I think that there is sufficient evidence to indicate that this restaurant is not able to provide a high quality experience.

I highly recommend the wine classes given by Monica Marin. I recently completed her WSET Level 3 course. As a former wine director, I really appreciated her very genuine passion for wine and for educating others on all the variables that go into producing a good bottle. Her classes are not just about lectures, facts and figures. She offered comprehensive wine tastings throughout the course to make sure we were able to experience the wines we were learning about. She also injects humor to keep the lectures from getting too stiff and formal. Well done!

The Wine House is a fantastic wine/spirits store on the westside. I usually pick up several bottles of wine to give as holiday gifts, and decided to give the Wine House a shot this year instead of my typical BevMo run. That was a good call. The Wine House has a phenomenal selection of wine from all over the world, and for any budget. I saw some bottles for as low as $12, and as high as several hundred. They also have a rare wine cellar which I assume has some really high priced bottles. There is also a nice selection of rare scotch. It's hard to imagine you can't find what you're looking for here. The wine is organized throughout the store by region of the world. I picked up a diverse set of reasonably-priced wine from Spain, South America, New Zealand, and the south of France. I also picked up a nice bottle of Scotch and a unique looking bottle of vodka that was produced locally in SoCal. There are a lot of friendly staff members looking to help you find anything and give recommendations. Overall a really fine store!

It's always fun shopping for wines here. It's a fairly large, warehouse-style shop with wines organized by country/region and also by varietal. I love how the wines here are geared towards wine connoisseurs and not the mass-produced stuff you see in grocery stores. They also have a special walk-in locker room section with very high quality vintage wines. The prices of the wines range from more affordable to very expensive. If you're on a tighter budget, it's still possible to find good value for your money here. The people here are always friendly and willing to help you with any questions you may have. A few years ago we went to the bar of the restaurant that was adjacent to this place upstairs (The Wine House is downstairs). There was a sommelier there who specially picked out our wines to enjoy with some small dishes we ordered. I really enjoyed this experience and it made shopping for wines afterward even more fun. They were remodeling this restaurant the last time I was there, and I'm not sure what it's going to be when the remodeling is finished. The Wine House's website can use improvement. It's on the slower side and there aren't descriptions of the wines. Descriptions and reviews would be helpful. Also, the filtering function isn't very well done, making it harder to find specific types of wines. I think if the website were improved, it would probably add to their sales as it would make it easier for people to find new wines to add to their cart.

Wine House in Los Angeles is a fantastic place for wine enthusiasts. The store has a large selection of wines from across the world, and the friendly employees are always happy to assist clients in finding the perfect bottle. The store also conducts tastings and events on a regular basis, making it an excellent place to learn more about wine. However, the pricing can be a little high, so it may not be the ideal option for those on a tight budget.

The Winehouse is one of my favorite establishments in Los Angeles. It's a phenomenal wineshop, with a cool restaurant, & a great place to get your wine certifications/education. I recently became a 'Certified Sherry Wine Specialist' through their program led and taught by Monica Marin. She's was concise, informative, passionate, entertaining, and downright awesome. This is the second certification class I've taken with Monica (the first one being my WSET 2), and will definitely not be my last!

I've been coming to Wine House for years for their incredible WSET education program led by the one and only Monica Marin. Not only are the classes from WSET excellent but Monica pushes them over the top. There is a reason she's considered one of the top wine educators in the WSET program with incredible knowledge, a lively presentation style, and an unforgettable whit that makes every class a joy. The Wine House in general is a great wine shop with a ginormous selection and great pricing... but their real secret super power is Monica and her courses! Currently I am a diploma student hoping to finish up my program and continue my wine education (and instruction!) - I cannot recommend it highly enough!

This Wine House has a superb certified wine education program including the prestigious Wine and Spirit Educational Trust (WSET) headquartered in London. The instructor, Monica Marin, is internationally recognized for both her knowledge and skill in teaching the art and science of wine appreciation. A particular advantage of this school is that Monica is approved to teach basic, intermediate, and advanced programs including achieving diploma status. Looking for an emporium of wine to get lost in for an hour and walk out later with 10 bottles?? Here's your spot. I always walk into this place going "hey, I need a bottle for dinner." Then an hour later, I have two boxes of different stuff and then I go - how did I just spend hundreds of dollars. It's like the equivalent of going to Best Buy looking for an iphone charging cable and walking out with a TV. That's the equivalent of what Wine House does to you with wine. Not to say that they are pushy or anything - their staff are anything but. Their staff are helpful, let your browse, have incredible knowledge on wines, and are just generally wonderful. I'll be back soon because I'm running low on wine again...

One of the best wine retailers in LA, together with KL Wines. Huge selection (wine and liquor) and amazing library wine inventory. Self serve tasting room has 30+ wine selections and is very fairly priced. Excellent store

The best customer service -- they stand by their wines. I have been buying from The Wine House for 25 years -- and in the half century have been buying a lot of higher end wines and spirits from The Wine House. I recently purchase a very high end wine, which, unfortunately, had something wrong with it (we opened it in a vertical with the same wine from other, including older, vintages). I emailed them about this and The Wine House took care of me -- amazing and incredible. This is very rare in the wine business, to be treated so well (and trusted) -- and so I am giving them a 10 out of 10 if you buy wine. Super highly recommended. A great place for all the wine selections you could imagine. Their wine classes are phenomenal. Monica is a great and engaging teacher full of knowledge and makes learning about wine interactive, engaging and fun (took my WSET 3 through them). I took WSET level 1-3 with Monica and I couldn't ask for a better experience! Monica is a passionate person and a super talented educator! Everything from curating a wine list for course tasting to preparing us for a very specific exam structure was done with a great level of detail. I would highly recommend taking classes with Monica - you will learn a ton and have a lot of fun while at it!

Update: Got a call from the owner saying there was a misunderstanding and will fully refund my order. Excellent customer service and a prompt response to an issue. Revising to 5 stars. Thanks Wine House. Original: My first order as a new customer, ordered 6 bottles of pinot and all were corked. Asked for a refund or store credit but was told that they have a 30 day return policy. It was 6 weeks. Am I supposed to drink it all, especially reds, in 30 days? They credited only 2 bottles, and earned 1 star. Will not use this place again.

For wine education, I highly recommend taking the in-person WSET classes taught by Monica Marin. I started at level 1 and I am mid-way through level 4 (diploma).

David and his team provide great service, in addition to having a phenomenal selection and a location just off the 405 at Pico/Olympic. For example...? They could not fill an order I had made for a 2015 Le Macchiole Scrio, a wine I was hoping to collect and could not find anywhere. They were kind enough to go out of their way and take their time to find a place that had some bottles for sale near me. Who does that? Who (these days) goes searching for wine they don't have to provide a customer a place that does? Surprisingly, The Wine House, my new 'first stop' when I am looking for a rare Italian Red. This place is amazing. They have a huge selection of wines from around the globe. Their options come in many price ranges so you're sure to find something you love that fits your budget. They also have wine classes where wine makers come in and sample their wines, they serve a different bottles of a certain varietal, etc. so that you can learn and taste your way through them. One bottle is usually pretty expensive so it's a fun way to try pricey wine without breaking the bank. We came for their burgundy tasting and we loved it! My favorite thing about the Wine House - and arguably the most unique - is that they have a tasting room where you pay by the pour. You load money onto a card and you have a number (8 if i recall correctly) of 1 oz pours. You can pick from their selection of around 30 rotating bottles that vary in price. You set your glass down and it will pour the correct amount in for you like those soda machines at fast food places. Beneath the pouring machine are the bottles so you can buy it right then and there if you like it. This is seriously so awesome and I wish more places did this. Can't wait to come back and try some new bottles!!

When the CA Liberal Scourge (virus) was not keeping Americans in perpetual internment, I used to happliy visit here. Multiple floors of vinous smells from the world's greatest producers. I was aghast upon hearing that the CA local political demagogues and cronies have forced this business into curbside pick-up only. Since I am continuing my Riojan bender during this time of lunacy, I joined the sheeple and lined up my car awaiting the case of Bodegas Hermanos Peciña Señorio de P. peciña 2014 Crianza (Rated 90 by Parker and Atkin) and 2013 Reserva (Rated 92 by Parker and Atkin). I totally fell in love with both of these offerings when visiting the winery in San Vicente de la Sonsierra which you can find in my Yelp reviews. Because of the "ghost town" freeways, now, I escaped the normally insane traffic of Westwood but the quality of drivers' skill and attentiveness has only degraded over the years. There are more "entitled morons" behind the wheel in West LA than ever before.

The Wine House is amazing. Their classes are first-rate. The selection is vast and well organized. The entire staff is helpful, and knownledgable. They are simply the best.
