12 Best Places to Eat and Drink in Frederick, Maryland | Eater DC

"There are two Wine Kitchens — one in Leesburg and one in Frederick — and both are equally spectacular. While wine is unsurprisingly the center of attention at this creative restaurant, the food is carefully designed to accentuate your beverage. Particularly unique is the beef program, which highlights cuts from different breeds, all raised in distinct ways from a range of environments. When it’s available, don’t miss out on the short rib for two, braised for 12 hours and literally fall-apart tender." - Lulu Chang

Had such a great lunch here. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Beet salad was a favorite and don’t miss the olive oil cake! Claire was so helpful and made our rare lunch date really special. Highly recommend!

I recently had a fantastic experience at *The Wine Kitchen* in Leesburg. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. The staff made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire meal, which really added to the overall experience. One of the best things about the restaurant is how flexible they are with their dishes—you can easily adjust ingredients to suit your preferences, which I appreciated. The ambiance was lovely, creating a perfect setting for a relaxed yet upscale dining experience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place that offers great food, outstanding service, and a comfortable atmosphere.

This was an unplanned stop that absolutely made our day. Leesburg Historical District is perfect its own right and this restaurant adds to it success. We loved everything about this restaurant. On top of that their flights were 50% off. Six flights later we truly got a sense of the quality of their wine. They know their wine and all were excellent and diverse. We loved their creative descriptions of each one. We chose their Pasta tasting menu which was delicious and we were full at the end of the meal. The ambiance is lovely and the service very attentive and professional. The menu options are varied. Street parking is limited and there is parking garage behind the building. The area is safe and charming. There is outside seating when the weather is appropriate. We highly recommend!

The Piedmont Wine Dinner was delicious on so many levels. We could tell there was a lot of planning and pairing for each unusual course. The wines chosen were very different and interesting. We liked them all. My guests were very impressed by the wait-staff and how accommodating and courteous they were. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

We stopped in last minute late on a Friday night and they were nice enough to fit us in at the bar. The food was insanely delicious and the drinks scrumptious!!! The decreasing is so cute and the menus are lovely. I can't say enough. I want to go there again tonight. Yummmm!!!!

Google
Very tasty food. We got the tater tots and meatballs for appetizers and they were delicious; especially the meatballs. The steak frites were very good and the steak was cooked perfectly for medium. The old bay pasta … Great flavors but the portion for the half option is like a kid’s meal. Do yourself a favor and ask for a full. In general portions are average to small but I didn’t mind as we had appetizers, drinks, and an entree so we were fairly full by the end of our meal. Definitely worth visiting again but we have a location closer to us that we haven’t tried yet so we’ll probably do that before circling back here.

Had dinner at The Wine Kitchen in Leesburg, and while the food was mostly on point, the service left much to be desired. We sat at the bar and unfortunately, our server seemed completely disinterested in serving us, showing a noticeably different attitude when interacting with other (white, American) couples at the bar. It was disappointing to feel this lack of warmth and attentiveness, especially when dining out is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. On the bright side, the food was quite good overall, with fresh flavors and well-prepared dishes. However, the Spaghetti alla Norma missed the mark—burnt eggplant overpowered what should have been a standout dish. The rest of our meal was enjoyable, but the service really dampened the experience. It’s a shame, because the potential for a great evening was there.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh. We were greeted by every staff member with kindness. Our bartender Alex was phenomenal, we told him what kind of drinks we liked and he executed perfectly. We ordered some of their cocktails on the menu as well and were made perfectly. We got the meatballs, mixed salad, and goat cheese fritters. All good. Worth it. Perfect date spot and 100/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Incredible experience! The staff were super knowledgeable and very helpful in securing a table and selecting food. The space was really cute and perfect for date night. We spent all day at the wineries and to say they were patient with our group at the end of the day - was an understatement. We tried nearly every pasta and had no complaints. The meatballs are a must. The goat cheese fritters are a must. We had wine and champagne flights which were also really solid. Definitely check this one out.

Yelp
4 and not 5 explained below. Wanted to pick a new place in Leesburg to have lunch. One of my favorites is losing its stars so I thought I'd try a new restaurant. This got great Yelp reviews so I had to try it. It's a very cute restaurant. The staff is very friendly. The food is quite good. The reason for the four and not five stars is that the kitchen was very slow. If I go back, with a different friend, I'm going to have to warn them about that. Otherwise, the food was very good. I went with a friend and we both had the sweet potato soup. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was lovely. The presentation was exceptional. You'll see that in my delayed video, sorry for the fingers over the viewfinder. The sweet pea risotto was excellent. The peas were truly fresh and the vines as decoration on top were as sweet as the fresh peas. I only like fresh peas. I can't stand the frozen or canned so I was concerned about ordering the risotto that had peas in it. To my wonderful surprise, they truly were fresh peas and delicious. My friend had seared salmon on top a salad with lots of goodies--oranges and nuts (he couldn't determine what they were) and more. Again, we are all used to the typical salmon. He said it was delicious! The salad had such a wonderful vinaigrette he wanted me to taste it; I was too full to try anything more. Almost forgot to mention. We went for the 2 items for $25. It's a fixed menu, but I'm sure you'll find something you like. Another reason for the four stars is because the menu is limited. It could use a few more items. By the way, the bathroom on the left in the back is very cute. The sign on the bathroom to the right is quite funny. I'm hoping the kitchen just had a problem that day. I plan to go back with another friend in a couple months. I don't live in the area so it's not an easy place for me to get to. It's worth another go.

Yelp
This restaurant has been in my bucket list since I was 13. Finally got around to it! Had a nice anniversary dinner. Very good wine. Me and my wife got the Vita Bella and bubbelicious flights. Nice selection. Smooth and a little sweet. Perfect. My wife got the goat cheese ravioli with mushrooms. She loved it. I got the butcher selection. A 8oz Hanger steak cooked to my liking and very tender. Mushrooms were rich and creamy!! The service was great. We didn't feel rushed at all and we took our time in the outdoor seating enjoying the cozy atmosphere of downtown Leesburg on a warm spring day. We will definitely be coming back Thank you to our waitress Jaden!

Yelp
Really nice dinner option in middleburg. We got a cocktail off the HH menu which was good and the squash flower. I was expecting the squash flower to have a filling but it was truly just a fried flower so it just tasted like fried batter. I'd skip that. Then for the entrees I had to bolognese pasta which was pretty good and my husband got the crab pasta which he said was ok but when he tried mine said it was worlds better

Yelp
Wine kitchen has always been a favorite. Great to see they added additional seating inside and out. Heirloom Tomato Salad presentation was awesome, but lacked something...we both thought some balsamic would have made it better. The meatballs and red wine infused rigatoni bolognese were excellent. Wine and service were both spot on...all the food that came out to the surrounding tables looked great.

Yelp
Food was alright. We went during lunch but I'd say the dinner menu is way better. Maybe the taste was also affected by me choosing gluten-free pasta? Appetizers were good though. A must try is their hash browns. Super crispy, with a tasty roumolaoude sauce - bacon bits and pickled onions. Service was good, pretty attentive and cater to what you ask for The inside is dim lit, has a back room for larger parties.

Yelp
It is a great place. I stopped after a tennis match. The pasta is solid and the cannolis is pretty good. The service is great, but may be a bit of too many times asking how I am doing or what I need. The decor indoor is nice but I ate outside with a perfect street view. They also kindly let me order me cannoli for desserts even though it is not a la carte. Overall, a place to return. Amatriciana - classic and nice sauce. Cook al dente for most people (i prefer a slightly less cooked), could ask for some extra black pepper Flight - the classic italian reds are great selection though not to blow your mind, which is not the point anyways Cannolis - special request as I did not do the tasting menu. Nice of them and a nice finish to the meal

Yelp
Great pricing! Definitely recommend going to happy hour because those prices were just unbeatable! Got a spritz flight that had varying levels of bitterness in the alcohol which was really cool to try. $10 in the happy hour price...HELLO?! Amazing. Also got chicken parm bites which were done so well. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. Seating is a bit limited on the inside but the restaurant is really lovely. There's also seating outside to enjoy good weather!

Yelp
Stopped in today to have a late lunch. The service here was outstanding as well as the food. We had goat cheese fritters, beet salad with filet, and pasta bolognese. To top it off desert was over the top. What was outstanding is the service as well from the hostess to the server. We will definitely be back and I just can't say enough.

Yelp
One of the best meals. I am still thinking about it! We came here to celebrate my friend's bachelorette. It was hard to choose what to order because everything looked so good! I was really happy my friend wanted to split two entrees with me. We settled on the flank steak and one of the pasta dishes. The dirty martini I ordered wasn't that great but that's kind of what I get for ordering that at a wine bar, haha. I ordered the smooth Italian reds flight and that was a 10/10! Definitely recommend this spot for any occasion!! It was so cute inside.

Yelp
Enjoyed the fish specialty, Wreckfish at this wonderful restaurant tonight. Wreckfish are firm textured, white meat, sweet tasting and delicious. The Goat Cheese appetizers are light, crispy, melt in your mouth, heaven. The international selection of wines are treasures, and perfect accompaniments to a selection of memorable dinner delicacies. The dessert wine flight was outstanding! Highly recommend both the restaurant and the fish. With excellent service, the everything was wonderful.

Yelp
Delicious, farm-to-table spot on an adorable street. We had a lunch reservation between visiting wineries and we left here feeling full and happy. Upon arrival, the table was ready with our party's last name printed out on a nice piece of parchment and displayed in the bouquet on the table. Incredibly nice touch. Love the attention to detail. The inside is cozy with a bar and a few tables inside and outside. For a Sunday at 2pm, it was pretty packed. The menu wasn't marked with gluten free options, but the server was helpful as he asked the chef which options were available to me. They did have gluten free buns if you wanted to get a sandwich, but we opted to try a bunch of small things. We got the tater tots loaded up gluten free style (without the gravy), the brussel sprouts, the pumpkin soup, and the meat and cheese board. The tater tots were amazing. Definitely housemade judging by how thick, round, and potato-ey they were. The brussel sprouts were also delicious - super flakey and soft. The pumpkin soup had an amazing flavor - it wasn't too sweet and the brussel sprout leaf garnish added some nice texture. The cheese plate came with gluten free crackers and some housemade pickles that I really enjoyed. My only qualm was that everything had pickled onions with the exception of the soup. I love pickled onions but it kinda felt like pickled onion overkill. I would totally come back to check out their dinner menu. Lunch was amazing so I can only imagine how yummy dinner would be!

Yelp
Had to update my review becuase The Wine Kitchen continues to improve in quality, value and overall experience. While they have a good rotating menu of seasonal offerings, where they really shine is the pasta and the pasta tasting menu. We have had two experiences with the pasta tasting menu, and this most recent time was just simply delightful. Excellent value for the amount of food, attention, care and creativity. Each course wowed us for different reasons. The sauces were so good we were actually licking the bowls and wishing for spoons to get every last drop! As a family that makes fresh pasta ourselves, we understand the details and time that goes into making fresh noodles and stuffed pasta, and they do it VERY well. Pacing was great for the prix fixe. Wine list is extensive and has options to satisfy picky oenophiles. Space is cozy and comfy. We have dined in sweatsuits and business attire, and the service remains the same. It is such a great spot in Leesburg and we cannot wait to be back.

Yelp
Such great food and awesome service! Easy to make a reservation online. The wine was tasty. There are a lot of opportunities to make wine flights. The food was delicious and fresh. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. He had great recommendations. The restaurant is cute and has a little bar area. They also have tables in front of the restaurant outside. We went for lunch on a Saturday. Wasn't too crowded. Would love to come back and try other things on the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Love the new back room. Paulie's pasta was spot on and what a great deal on Wednesday! Loved the appetizer and of course the wine is spot on. Appreciate the server switching one of the selections so I got just what I wanted in my flight.

Yelp
We came in on Saturday right as they opened as they had no reservations. The space is quite small but intimate, a great space for a date or breakfast with family. I learned after the fact that they only have brunch on Sunday. Our waiter was quite chatty and kind and had some great recommendations. Their cocktail menu was quite unique and I loved the beet drink. We had the steak frites, the smash burger, the vegan pumpkin risotto, and the chicken sandwich. I thought the size of the entrees was quite large and filling- the smash burger was one of the best I've had. They had a ton of vegetarian items and items for vegans as well. We also liked the warm olives and the loaded tots as apps. Good service, strong cocktails and tasty food!

Yelp
I'm absolutely a fan!! We shared the mixed greens salad. They were kind enough to split it in the back. It was served on 2 separate plates. The sherry vinaigrette was lovely! I ordered the Semolina Waffle as my entree. It was the best. I never want another waffle from a restaurant if it don't taste like this. Perfect amount of sweet and I loved the texture. The semolina waffle is served with apple butter, roasted pears, maple syrup, side of bacon. The bacon was crispy without asking and tasted of high quality. You didn't need the maple syrup but that too was divine. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict and loved it. I'm not a eggs Benedict girl so I didn't try it. We also shared an ordered of biscuits and gravy made with bacon gravy. Neither one of us have ever tried biscuits and gravy with bacon gravy so we had to. So glad we did. We got them served with scrambled eggs instead of sunny side up. I went with "Working for the Weekend" as my red wine flight. It was a Sunday after all. Out of the 3, I only liked one wine - The Dude. The rest were way too bitter for me. My friend chose "Pinot Envy" as his flight. He also only liked one of the three - Thea's Selection. Since we enjoyed just one tasting of the three, we decided to skip to Bloody Mary's and Espresso Martinis. Both the bloody's and espresso martinis were some of the best cocktails we've had. The whipped cream on top of the martini is house made. I could have eaten a bowl. It was that good! The place is small and quaint. The tables are super small and really close together. Both flights and 2 entrees took up the entire table. Our server was nice, attentive and knowledgeable. 5 stars all around. 100% recommend and will certainly return when visiting Leesburg, VA.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Old Town Leesburg. I don't often make reviews, but this place is stand-out! Had Sunday brunch. Great service! This place preserves the old town elegance of brick, wooden floors, weathered tables, nice background music. Plentiful parking behind the restaurant. Fabulous shop in close proximity.

Yelp
Everything was great for the Birthday celebration including the personalized card and flowers on the table. Our server was great and very informative about menu and drinks available. Everyone was very nice and customer service oriented, very hard to find these days. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Casey D.

Yelp
This place was awesome! I loved their flight options. Our server, Maria, was seriously so nice! It's also in the best location in downtown Leesburg and has such a warm and inviting atmosphere. I devoured my smash burger and my fiancé loved his eggs Benedict of the day. We would definitely come back!

Yelp
The service here is great, and so is the food. I enjoy that it's a rotating menu so that there's something new each time. I recommend going on tuesdays for half off flights!! Also, the vibe is nice.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Fabulous food and warm, locally owned wine bistro vibe. Friendly attentive service. We were there 5ish on a Thursday. Busy but not packed. I would definitely make reservations if we came on a weekend. Delicious and decadent!
google avatar

Yelp
Sat outside on a nice sunny day. We had the goat cheese fritters as an appetizer. One person in our party got a flight of the bubbles - Chardonnay champagne, Pinot noir, and a darker one that I did not catch the grapes. And the rest of us had simple glasses of wine. Service was good, and it's a nice place to kick back for a little bit while walking downtown.

Yelp
BLUF: Good drinks. Ok food. Expensive & small portions. Good staff. Reservations recommended. Food (3/5): The food was good. I didn't like the PORCHETTA, slow roasted pork belly. The sauce was salty but the meat perfectly cooked. The wagyu 6oz was tiny ($49). It was difficult to cut into, but I couldn't figure out if it was the dull knives or the hardness of the exterior meat. I wouldn't get again. It was the butchers selection, I got it since I didn't like any of the other entrees. I'll wait for their next menu to go again. When the wagyu steak came out, I immediately ordered the tater tots when asked "is there anything else I can get you?" Thank goodness I did, since I was still hungry after the steak. The tater tots were really good. Crispy on the outside, mushy on the inside. The meatballs were ok. They were extremely small, and we got 5 of them. Service (5/5): Our waitress was attentive. They ask you your allergies and dislikes. This came in handy since I'm allergic to a few normal ingredients that are in lots of foods. He was able to steer me in the right direction when ordering. Our waiter also talked to us about different drinks, recommended certain ones, and gave us ideas for new drinks! Drinks (4/5): We got a few drinks and they were mostly good. They have a full bar, so they can make any drink you want. They have a nice cocktail menu with a little bit of everything. It's always fun to try new drinks, so I definitely recommend you try a few of them! Atmosphere & Parking (3/5): It's pretty small, only a handful of tables. There was a screaming baby in the table over from us during the beginning part of our meal, so it put a bit of a damper on our evening. The place is dimly lit with pieces of art on the wall available for purchase. Parking downtown is always hard: tight spaces, lack of street parking, and lots for only certain buildings. We parked in the parking garage. It was free during the holiday season.

Traci W.

Yelp
Service here is always wonderful. I don't drink alcohol but the pasta here is amazing . I love the meatball appetizer, the sauce is drinkable. Would live to see on the menu a meatball pasta.

Yelp
Ambiance 100/10 Service 1000/10 Food was super good too!! Staff was helping in choices and happy to answer any questions. Try the s'mores desert chefs kiss

Yelp
Intimate restuarant with a lively atmosphere Service was exceptional. 6-course Pasta tasting with the wine pairing was an awesome experience. Chef was able to quickly accommodate a food allergy. Loved the detailed description and history of each course as well as the paired wine info. Definitely was a wonderful experience. Looking forward to a return visit!

Yelp
We found The Wine Kitchen thanks to its stellar reviews, and it still managed to exceed expectations. This is the real deal! Food and wine were terrific. But the service outshone even those. The hostess and waitstaff made the entire experience a joy from start to finish. For those with 4-legged friends in tow, know they were able to seat us outside and took care of our two year old pup like she was one of their own. This meal was the highlight of our visit to Leesburg!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
I'm the service was spot on! The food is fabulous! I resisted ordering the whole menu since it all looked so good! Since my friend & I decided to come last minute, had to get an early dinner since that was the only reservation spot left available. Even for a Tuesday night. So that's shows how popular it is. Would 100% recommend to friends and come back!

Yelp
Food: I ordered the red wine infused rigatoni bolognese which is one of the only menu items that isn't seasonal and is here Year round. They cool the sauce for 24 hours and the pasta is also made in house. My boyfriend got the fresh catch of the day which was rockfish. Our service - 10/10 Was phenomenal!!! Or waitresses was kind and informative (Marissa) about the options on the menu, asking for allergies. Decor - 8/10 Very intimate and classy ambiance. There's a decent amount of outdoor seating and inside seating. The outdoor seating is covered. On weekends they close down the street and extend their patio. Parking: There's parking garages located throughout downtown Leesburg that aren't far away. There's two free parking lots and one that you pay $1 Some fun facts about this restaurant that I didn't know! They have everything locally sourced which is awesome!!! From Farms, distilleries, etc.... They have a sister location in Fredrick as well as a burger and shake restaurant!! They have TONS of wine options and flights. They also have $61 pp menu option that's gets you a little taste of everything (pasta, app, dessert, and entree). There's art on the wall for purchase.

L T.

Yelp
We always enjoy eating here, I've been to both locations, one in Leesburg, VA and the other in Frederick, Maryland. The restaurant in Frederick is larger and seems to have more menu options. The one in Leesburg, Virginia, is smaller and more cozy. The drinks, wine, food and desserts are all lovely. This is fun for a date night or a casual lunch or brunch out front on their small patio.

Yelp
Absolutely love Wine Kitchen in old town Leesburg. Yelp steered us here on the way back from a winery and what a gem! From the wine list including lots of fun flight options to house made pastas and beautiful main dishes, everything is very well thought out. Servers are kind and knowledgeable, space is small and intimate so plan ahead or put your name on the wait and go down the street for a drink nearby while you wait. It's worth it!

Yelp
I randomly came here after finishing up some errands, but I'd absolutely come back here. The bartender in particular was extremely helpful. He recommended his favorite white wines to me after asking what I normally like, and then made a custom flight for me with those wines. He also recommended the Nashville Hot Mushroom sandwich which was delicious! I wasn't able to get a picture because I was starving and in the middle of conversation with someone but it was a moderate size, not too crazy big, and it came with a choice of fries or salad as the side. It was a very cute restaurant with bar and table seating right next to the public parking garage and in the middle of downtown Leesburg. I'll definitely be returning with friends to try more of the wine menu and food!

Yelp
I came here after a spontaneous trip from DC to explore Leesburg. It was a Saturday night and the city had blocked off the street right outside of it so the street was bustling with patio diners and kids playing in the street. It was such a lovely energy! There's were no reservations available so we tried walking in around 6. They added us to their waitlist and we were seated 20 minutes later. They have a text system set up so you can walk around and be notified later. When you get your text, you have 10 minutes to get back to the restaurant and claim your table. All the food was delicious. Meats and cheeses were well curated. The crispy brussel sprout salad could have been crispier, but it was still delicious so can't complain. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The cocktails were delicious, and I wish I had been able to try more, but I had to try some wine while at The Wine Kitchen! I'm not a huge wine person but I LOVED the sparkling wine flight they offered. Sparkling reds are hard to come by, and Lambruscos I've tried in the past have been too heavy. Every wine in the flight was a hit and I finished it all! I have a few other spots I want to try out if I come back to Leesburg, but once I make it through that list The Wine Kitchen will definitely be a repeat!

Yelp
The wine flights were delicious. Pan seared rockfish and the crab pasta entrees were very nice. We devoured every bit. I would definitely return.

Yelp
The Wine Kitchen is not-so-hidden gem of Leesburg. The Small Comfy-intimate inn-style dining area will have you relaxing into your meal, as the decor keeps your mind waffling back and forth between medieval flights of dancing, and the Griffendor Break room. Quaint is NOT a passive-aggressive insult here. It's a Badge of beauty and appreciation .. The service was friendly albeit a little curt at first, but quickly warmed up. The food was delicious and the bartender made a pretty good Old Fashioned cocktail. Cons: The seating here was a little tight. Not too much so, but If you are an Obese, tall, or LARGE person, you will not likely be comfortable here, as it is position for efficiency and not to accommodate all situations. As a person of color, I do feel obligated to mention a dynamic that is seldom mentioned, but frequently a variable discussed in a persons experience... *ahem* I will remind you that this is Leesburg. As I, my wife and sister sat ... we did get bombarded with many undecipherable looks that were not aggressive, but definitely condescending. This establishment does attract locals and the area has a reputation for fostering the financially and pigment-elitist types. Even a few Karen's .. For me, I am always "aware" but seldom bothered by such trivialities, especially since I always carry and dress myself for the occasion and make sure that I adequately represent my family and station in a self-respecting light. However, if you are sensitive to the looks of others, you will need to be aware of such things. This establishment staff had no such behavior, and the LOCALS where the only ones that seem to take issue. With that said... The only Energy that would be negative here, would be the energy you bring with you. It's worth a visit... It's NOT for large parties... It's NOT a sports bar environment... It's IS great for a date, friendly meet up, ... or casual cocktail during g a short visit. Hope you enjoy...

Yelp
We are in town for the night and we chose this restaurant to try based on Yelp's rating and it didn't disappoint. We cleaned out every dish we ordered, including the dessert. When we are back in town again, we will definitely come back. The server is knowledgeable, made great recommendations with the wine, main course and dessert!! The restaurant looks nice.

Yelp
Fantastic experience at The Wine Kitchen this evening! Can't say enough about the flavors of the locally-sourced, diligently-prepared offerings in a high class, yet welcoming environment. The décor, atmosphere and subsequent vibe are perfect for a little mid-week escape... felt like we had hopped the pond and were dining in in a European family hideaway. Our bartender/server, Cara, was professional, personable and guided us through perfect choices for apps, dinner and the dessert. Steve Smith (biggest new Washington Commanders Fan) added to the fun and provided some excellent info on the farms with which they partner. We had the delectable goat cheese balls, tender wings and beef/pork meatballs as Happy Hour apps. Cara expertly chose the burrata ravioli as our main. All capped by the incredible cheesecake for dessert (we don't usually like cheesecake and this was amazing!). I was very surprised by the quality of their Happy Hour wine choices. The red was light and served at the perfect temp. The white was a great compliment to the ravioli and the sparkling paired beautifully with dessert. His Manhattan was expertly prepared and brought a satisfied smile. It was so impressive to see how much care was taken to chill and serve the table water... and how clean the restroom was. Those "little" things really matter and represent how diligent the staff is. So appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful evening- we will be back and bring others. Recommend reservations if you'd like a table for dinner. Enjoy! :)

Yelp
Went there for dinner with a family of four. We ordered two risotto pastas, lamp pasta, and scallops. Three pastas were terrible. They were room temperature cold and tasted very bland at best. Considering the price of the entrees, the portions were very small, particularly for cheap pasta Down there with a family of four. We ordered two risotto pastas, lamp pasta, and scallops. Do not recommend this place unless you want a good ambience, order drinks with a date.

Yelp
Great people - meet great food AND great wine! Make sure and make reservations or pony up to the bar and meet some new people. Recommendations and favorites were spot on.

Yelp
Service was great. Nice little cozy spot for a quick dinner and wine tasting. Not a lot of options if you don't eat pork. But worth a visit.

Yelp
I love everything about this place. I've now been here twice while on weekend cycling trips to Leesburg and beyond (we live in Washington, DC so it's a journey to bike out here!), and each time my meal here has been the highlight of my weekend. Be aware that this place is very popular especially on weekends so you'll want to be sure to make a reservation. That said, the staff is super accommodating and if you come without a reservation, they can place you on a list (with a text message alert) so that you can get seated if and when a table opens up. There's enough to do on the surrounding blocks and this place is DEFINITELY worth any wait, I promise. The food is spectacular. It felt hand-made, very fresh, and very farm-to-table. Dishes are imaginative without being too "overdone." I had a pasta bolognese which they were able to make gluten-free for me, which I truly appreciated. In fact the staff was really careful and kind about my gluten problem and pointed out all the foods I could and couldn't eat. I always appreciate when that happens! And the wine! The list here is solid and wide-ranging; the staff can help you pick the right wine for whatever you're having and they are seemingly always spot-on. There is also a selection of excellent flights with thoughtful tasting notes, that can really give you a taste of some things you've never tried before. I personally loved the selections from Greece and Macedonia. I promise you I'll be back here, whether it's off a bike trip or just driving. I hope you make your way here too - it's so worth it.

Yelp
First of all... It's the coolest little wine bar in that entire area by a clear mile. The entire staff is extremely friendly from the moment you walk in. It is a perfectly little intimate restaurant that I would absolutely consider bringing a date to. It's particularly charming during the holiday season with all of the decorations surrounding the restaurant and within it as well. I ordered a filet mignon and it was plated beautifully. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and set a delicious gravy. The asparagus and spinach were both seasoned perfectly as well. I paired this meal with a 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Savignon and so far, it is the best single meal I have had from the three restaurants I have visited in that area in recent weeks. Overall, I give it a 8 out of 10. It was a very well executed dining experience. Bravo to the staff. Bon appétit

Yelp
The ambiance of the place is rustic, cozy, and not conventional. However, it provides a sense of familiarity and a feeling that you have been there before. The waiting staff is accommodating, caring, and always attentive, and as a team that supports one another, it is a team effort. The food and the wine pairing are divine; we usually go with the "chef's table" as we know we are in great hands. The pastas are al dente, fresh and handmade. The cheese, ragu, meats, and vegetables are truly farm-to-table experiences. The wines are paired expertly and deliciously. It is exquisite, and also read or have someone read them for you the wine taste descriptions by the sommelier. Wow, a true culinary experience in the little old town of Leesburg. I wish I'd taken more and better pics.

Yelp
Our first time to this wine kitchen. Service and the food was top notch. The wife had the rabbit, the Malbec flight and the three chocolate wine desert. I had the duck, two Irish whiskeys, and helped her with the wine and desert. Phenomenal visit for such a busy Saturday night. We were walk ins and had about a 40 minute wait. Will return whenever in the area.

Yelp
We came to the wine kitchen this summer when we had a family visitor. It was a wonderful place to sit out in front, have a glass of wine and people watch. They have fun flights of this and that. The server was very attentive, but not overly so, and understood that we were local rather than out of towners. That kind of attention is really appreciated. It was striking that they were packed on a day when other similar establishments were not. That phenomenon speaks a good management!

Yelp
Staff was amazing with the attention paid to us during dinner here tonight. I would highly recommend the peach gazpacho. Wine list was great as well. Make sure this is on your list when you are in the area. Everything tasted great! Would put it up against any restaurant in a major city in the U.S.
