Salt & Straw Ice Cream Launches Student-Inspired Menu | Eater San Diego

"I'm interested in The Wine Pub's new Meet the Baja Winemaker series in Point Loma, launching Thursday, April 12: held on the wine bar’s patio, the four-course dinners will feature the Wine Pub’s resident chef Sergio Castro (owner of Baja California restaurant Mancha de Castro) alongside winemaker guests from the Valle de Guadalupe; Cava Maciel winery’s Jorge Maciel will help host the first event and Paolo Paoloni from Villa Montefiori is scheduled to appear on July 31. Tickets are $65 per person and reservations are required." - Candice Woo

We stopped here just by chance and what a lovely experience we had. The place has a cozy indoor seating area and a delightful patio. Both areas have a nice atmosphere but different. The patio is more casual and relax. They have heaters and blankets for chilly nights and live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The musicians we had were very good: a couple of acoustic guitar players with chill selection of songs. We only had a couple of wine glasses and olives. The wine selection is pretty good, not too big but good variety and quality. Service was nice too, two young ladies very attentive but not intrusive. A nice detail was the ladies bathroom. It’s so cute, with decoration of flowers and butterflies. A nice touch and I had to take a picture :)

Google
Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. Great wine list and menu with a gourmet flare that is definitely a grade above "pub" quality. I highly recommend their salad nicoise. As far as atmosphere, it's a great spot for a romantic dinner or to meet a small group of people on their patio around the fire pit. They also have live music Wed through Sat. Just a great place all around.

Had a delicious egg and hash skillet today! Food is fresh and well prepared! Flat white was perfect! Thanks M!!!

Google
We love the outdoor music on Fridays. Such a great vibe outside. We were given blankets tonight which was a nice touch!! Good wine, great food and live acoustic music was a perfect Friday night!

Google
This is a great lil wine spot. The wine selection is okay and food is great. My suggestion is if you think you will have 4 glasses just buy the bottle and there is a $6 fee to drink it on site but it’s worth it for the service. The food is great hands down great Italian small plates to share and have with win.

Google
We had such a great evening there, with music, lights…the breeze and vine. Recommended!

Google
Great music and excellent vibe! Loved our wine and beer! The chocolate cake and ice cream was so tasty!

Google
I have been there multiple time. Service has been good. I ordered a flatbread and the other two people with me ordered dinners. They got their meals way before I got my flatbread. I may give them another try.

Yelp
This is the old Wine Pub. They still have a nice wine collection, but not much else is the same. It was a Monday and slow. The server was very nice and knowledgeable. The menu looked good, especially the daily specials. We weren't that hungry, so I ended up ordering the mushroom and Brie flatbread. My friend got the beef sliders with a side salad. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
Juno's is a combination coffee hub and wine pub located in a corner suite of the Shelter Island Village in Point Loma. Parking in this plaza was not optimal with too few spaces for all of the businesses. The inside setup featured a compact bar with about four spots near the front entrance and several small tables. I believe there was also an outside patio adjacent to a side entrance, but I didn't venture over there to check the layout. For a kitchen of limited size, the menu was rather extensive. The categories on the two pages ranged from starters, sliders, soups, small plates, shareables, salads, flatbread, and desserts. There was also a list of the day's specials that featured eight full size entrees ranging from $22 to $38. I selected the first one from the list which was the Seafood Pasta. Fettucine noodles were cooked in an herbed tomato sauce with shrimp, scallops, salmon, and mussels. The item took about 15 minutes to be prepared. A healthy amount of parmesan cheese was grated on top of the dish. There were roughly two to four pieces of each seafood type. The sauce was light but well-seasoned from the herbs. For the serving size, I thought the $35 price tag was fair compared to upscale Italian restaurants around town. I had no qualms with giving a four star rating for my dinner at Juno's.

Yelp
Went here for breakfast and was blown away by how amazing it was! So much better than fig tree or breakfast republic! Cute/cool ambiance, fantastic service, and the food was out of this world! Surprised by how amazing the food was, really punches above its weight class. Best of all it's really well priced! Pancakes 10 Bacon 9 French onion soup 10 Mediterranean flatbread 8.6

Yelp
The service was very good. The food and presentation was wonderful. The wine was delicious. I will be back, I enjoyed myself. They have really mellow, chill music playing.

Yelp
What a delicious surprise at Juno's this morning! Had a fruit parfait that was outstanding! Fresh pineapple, strawberries, bananas, nectarines, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries on yogurt with granola and honey drizzle!! So generous and fresh! Sunny day outside on the lovely patio with excellent music playing! But the BEST part of the meal was being served by Taylor! She is a new, fresh addition to the staff and could not have made us all feel more welcomed! I would go back just to have coffee with her at the espresso machine! What a gem this restaurant is on Shelter Island!

Melanie F.

Yelp
This restaurant is a great option for a healthy lunch. You can create your own bowls with protein, fresh vegetables, and a dressing. Both bowls were very tasty.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Food is delicious and servers are attentive and sweet. Nice outside patio to sit and enjoy food and conversation.

Yelp
Great coffee. The Cortado caught my eye and didn't disappoint. Great people work here. Will be back.

Yelp
Was in the area and had some time before an appointment so we decided to try this place for breakfast. The outside is nothing fancy. It's situated in a sort of strip mall, if that's is what you would call it. But everything is very clean. When you first walk in, you immediately see the bar that has a fancy coffee maker/espresso maker on it. We were greeted right away. Very friendly. Told us to go ahead and grab a menu and have a seat wherever we want. A gentleman brought over a carafe of water. I'm a little bit of a water snob and needed lemon for it. The tables were very nice. Fresh flowers on every table. The restaurant its self is fairly small but cozy. We ended ordering a croissant, breakfast sandwich, the pancake and eggs, breakfast, and the caprice on toast. The croissant sandwich was really good. For the price, you would have thought there would have been potatoes or fruit on the side. The pancakes and eggs were really good. Also came with bacon. Was a little taken aback from the size of the pancakes. They were the size of silver dollars. Buts still really good. The caprese toast, I hate tomatoes, so according to my friend, was really good. Would we come back? Yes.

Yelp
I love coming here on the weekends in the evening to listen to some local musicians, have a nice dinner or appetizers and some nice wine. The ambience is amazing and relaxing. It's become quite the little neighborhood gathering spot.
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
Great find close to our hotel. The breakfast menu was extensive and hard to decide from so many great choices. My husband chose an omelette with roasted potatoes on the side. i had the croissant sandwich. It is a seat yourself atmosphere with indoor and outdoor space. The service was excellent and our food was delicious!

Yelp
Late post from 4th of July weekend. It was so good we went 2x for breakfast. Delicious breakfast and good service
google avatar

William J.

Yelp
Incredible food -especially the Baked Oatmeal. The fresh roasted coffee is really amazing. And the staff is really friendly and helpful. Next up is some time when the wine bar is open!

Kara

Yelp
By far the best coffee in Point Loma; the owner chooses and roasts his own beans. The ambience is inviting, and the owner and baristas (hi Tati!) are friendly and beyond competent, and the food is delicious. Enjoy!

Yelp
Confusing to find since signage reads Coffee Hut...with Juno's etched in small lettering on the entrance door. Food was wonderful and service lovely.Mellow atmosphere with a variety of coffee drinks, small menu but everything we tried was well made and delicious. We were there in the middle of Comic Con and took refuge far from the maddening crowds downtown, here in Point Loma. We enjoyed it so much that we brought our family back a couple of days later for a quiet brunch, away from the touristy trap spots around the convention center. Parking lot on the small side and was crowded both times we came, but we've lived to tell the tale.

Yelp
Had the Mushroom & Brie Melt, was Amazing. 9.5 out of 10!! Would definitely go back!!

Yelp
I went in on Saturday noon solo. Sat at the bar and had two people helping me. Bagel sandwich with cheese and bacon was tasty. Ordered a double espresso too. Ideal if you are in a hurry and need a quick bite.
google avatar

Comelona D.

Yelp
Service was great. The waiter really tried. Food was ok - I expected more. I ordered something with potatoes and eggs and I think it had mushrooms too. Too salty. The baked oatmeal had chunks of plantain that I didn't really enjoy and was oddly bland and didn't seem to go with the whole ensemble. I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Excellent place to grab breakfast in Point Loma. I had the yogurt and granola with fruit. Hit the spot for a lighter breakfast item. The others in my party had the breakfast sandwich and seemed very happy with their meal. The fruit cup did not disappoint either. No filler fruit. Will be back!

Sofi

Yelp
Best breakfast spot! The coffee is amazing, the food is great and comes out quickly, and the staff are incredible! We were in town visiting for 3 days and had breakfast at Juno's every morning. Highly recommend the classic hub crossiant, the avocado toast with an over medium egg, and the baked oatmeal!

Yelp
Love this place. Could not be more welcoming or warm. High quality well considered menu. Creative modern cuisine. Something for everyone. It's becoming my favorite local hang. Friendly fun staff and owner. One the things that makes shelter island charming and special.

Yelp
Nice menu and great coffee. Good selection of lighter breakfast fare, including peanut butter banana toast! Attentive, friendly service.

Nancy P.

Yelp
Not sure I want to tell everyone about convenient wonderful place that just keeps growing on me. I love breakfast and I love dinner and I am sure anything in between. The service is friendly, fun and relaxing. Food is very delicious. Home made breakfast pastries. Dinner, try the scrimp wrapped in bacon, outstanding. I don't even eat bacon but i will eat it here. Great patio too, you can't miss going to Junos

Yelp
I Love going to Juno's, cozy cafe with amazing menu options. Dairy free, vegan & gluten free options coffee is roasted on site, and latte syrups & pastries are made in house too! Service is always great, 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
The energy, service and food are STUPENDOUS! Tatiana greeted us with a friendly smile and a warm hello. What a doll!!! Husband had the American Daybreak and I had the avocado toast (which Tatiana insisted on cooking the eggs to her liking - they were delicious). Thank you T for taking such good care of us. Highly recommend for breakfast.

Yelp
Food was great. Perfect for a quick bite or coffee or if time allows a full breakfast is available as well. Staff is friendly and area is quiet.
google avatar

Jayray F.

Yelp
This place is located at the corner of Scott and Shelter Island Dr. convenient off street parking lot. Nicely crafted coffee and teas. Baked oatmeal is like a bread pudding density but not as moist. Served with brûléed bananas and strawberries plus pepitos. The burrito has a generous portions of scrambled eggs and when you order sausage it's more like tender chunks of polish sausage than a typical breakfast sausage. Servers are friendly and prompt and the restaurant has a nice neighborhood vibe.
google avatar

Susen S.

Yelp
Love this place. The food is great and the staff is amazing. Had the avocado toast and a vanilla latte!! Both were excellent.

Yelp
What a nice little spot with good flatbreads to share and a homey, family feeling. Our server, Tatiana, was delightful and on top of everything. We will return!

Yelp
Such a cute outdoor patio and delicious hummus! Live music was great and our servers were so nice!

Yelp
Service is over the top, you feel welcomed the moment you step in, the food is excellent that is combined with the perfect ambiance as the band plays.

Nancy C.

Yelp
Great food and very friendly The coffee is the best around and the home made pastries are wonderful. It's a great place to take visitors for brunch on a week day, or lunch. Since each dish is individually made, it's not fast food but very good food.

J.R. R.

Yelp
Great mom and pop place. Charming friendly and with great service. Food is interesting and they change the menu regularly. California bistro. Always good. Eaten breakfast lunch and dinner here and they do it all well. Romantic and small.

Nancy F.

Yelp
If you like a small, intimate setting, offering friendly staff, and a simple variety of excellent food choices, then you have come to the right place! Juno's is a hidden gem in the heart of Pt. Loma, offering live music on the weekends. It's easy to miss; located in a small, gray and white shopping on your right as you turn east onto Shelter Island Drive. If the lot is full, nearby street parking is always an option. Enjoy!

Marilyn V.

Yelp
We were looking for a breakfast spot after our hotel changed to a morning buffet breakfast, and I'm so glad we found Juno's! There's a great relaxing vibe, nice music and good service. Their coffees and espresso drinks are so good. And our egg dishes came out perfectly. This is now our go to for breakfast when we're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
In San Diego for a few days and we love to "small" places like this, the food and service is usually better. Staff was friendly and efficient, food came out fast and was delicious. Great "real" coffee, not the stuff that goes through a paper filter.

Yelp
Myself and six other girlfriends were at happy hour at the Wine pub yesterday, Wednesday, June 12. We ate outside on the beautiful patio and enjoyed delicious appetizers. Nikki H. was our server. She would come to our table to drop off food but then quickly turn around and leave. It was as if she had something else to do. There were only two people inside the bar and we were the only people on the patio. She would never go around the table and ask if anybody needed anything else. Finally during another quick "pit stop" at our table that she was making, one of my friends said to Nikki, "please wait," and then my friend went around the table and asked who needed more wine, etc. like Nikki should have done. My friend had to do this more than once because Nikki did not check in with us. She just seemed interested in doing anything but waiting on us and seeing if we were all good. I went inside to go to the bathroom and still there were only two people inside. Nikki was standing behind the bar "yucking it up" with the customer at the bar and another employee. Even when we wanted to pay our bill, we had to go inside and track her down. We chose this establishment because it's locally owned and want to support local businesses plus it's a cute place. Several of us had actually been wait staff in college and were very unhappy with the disinterested and distracted wait staff, Nikki.

Regina M.

Yelp
Order your coffee at the bar and have a seat. Nice vanilla latte. Loads of vegetarian lunch options. Sunny location. Handicap parking available.
