The Wine Yard

This quaint and charming location for Division Winemaking is a perfect place to spend a Portland summer night. The staff was excellent, 10 out of 10. So personal, knowledgeable and fun. The vibe was casual, smart and chic. My friend and I had the tasting flight and each glass brought a smile. Light. Refreshing. Crisp. They have events during the week and I am IN for trying one of these events. The interior aesthetic is bright and inviting, with colorful banquette seating surrounded by small tasting tables.

We booked a tasting for a Saturday at 11am. It's $25 per person with the option to add meat and/or cheese board by Olympia Provisions. Private tastings can be booked Sunday-Friday. Semi-private tastings are held on Saturdays. For every $100 of wine purchased or same day wine club sign up, up to two tastings will be waived. We were warmly greeted and got started right away. We took our first tasting with us on a tour around and saw where some wines are made, stored barrels, lab, and outdoor event space. They have been doing a summer event on certain Fridays where you can purchase a glass or bottle to pair with Cafe Olli pizza and enjoy music by featured DJ. Highly recommend adding on the meat + cheese board to go with your tasting. It was fantastic and good size as we took some to go. There was not one wine we didn't like which is rare. I purchased 4 bottles and keep thinking about becoming a member. Loved the whole experience!

Exceptionally approachable wines. Many of their wines enjoy neutral aging techniques, allowing for a drink-now taste. The Pinot Gris Gamay blend was one of the better summer sippers I've tried. So impressed that I joined the wine club.
